The Tirupati Railway Station is a major station that receives trains from all over the country. The airport closest to Tirumala is in Renigunta that is 15 kilometre from Tirupati. The airport is serviced by most major airlines and has flights from Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai and a couple of international destinations too. A lot of devotees prefer to climb the Tirumala Hill and fulfill their vow. There are two stone footpaths called Sopanamargas that lead to Tirumala. The oldest of the two Sopanamargas begin from Alipiri at the base of the hills. The footpath is 11 kilometre long and taken by plenty of devotees through the year. The other path starts from Chandragiri but is shorter at 6 kilometre. Throughout the footpath there are rest houses, medical help, toilets, canteen, drinking water and devotional music playing provided by TTD.

The first entrance is called the Mahadwaram or Padikavali, the second one is called Vendivakili  or Nadimipadikavali,  and the third one is called Nadimipadikavali . The sanctum sanctorum or Garbhagribha is where the lord resides along with other deities. There are strict rules to be followed by devotees wishing for a darshan. The prasadam, also known as 'naivedhyam,' is much-sought-after and pilgrims often carry it for their loved ones back home.

Akasaganga Teertham finds mention in our ancient texts and is believed to have originated from the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu. About Tirupati Temple

Lord Sri Venkateswara, also known as Srinivasa, Balaji, and Veṅkaṭachalapati, made Tirumala his abode five thousand years ago. Even before him, it was Lord Varahaswami who had made Tirumala his abode. Since then, many devotees have continued to construct grand entrances on the ramparts of the temple over generations. The temple complex is spread over 16.2 acres of land.

In Tirumala, the East facing Sri Varahaswami temple is located in the North West corner of the temple tank - Swami Pushkarini. As per the temple legend, Lord Srinivasa sought a gift of land from Sri Varahaswami, which he readily granted. In return, Srinivasa provided him with an agreement deed assuring that he would be paid the first darshan, worship and offerings by all the devotees visiting the temple. This tradition is in practise to this day at Tirumala and Lord Varahaswami continues to receive the age old traditional worship. Even today, all offerings are first made to Lord Varahaswami and then to Lord Sri Venkateswara.

Venkateswara Temple is a landmark Vaishnavite temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala at Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared here to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga. Hence the place has also got the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntham and the Lord here is referred to as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam. The temple is also known by other names like Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple.

Tirumala Hills are part of Seshachalam Hills range. The hills are 853 metres (2,799 ft) above sea level. The Hills comprises seven peaks, representing the seven heads of Adisesha. The temple lies on the seventh peak -Venkatadri, on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini, a holy water tank. Hence the temple is also referred to as "Temple of Seven Hills". Tirumala town covers about 10.33 sq mi (26.75 sq km) in area.

The Temple is constructed in Dravidian architecture and is believed to be constructed over a period of time starting from 300 AD. The Garbagruha (Sanctum Sanctorum) is called AnandaNilayam. The presiding deity, Venkateswara, is in standing posture and faces east in Garbha gruha. The temple follows Vaikhanasa Agama tradition of worship. The temple is one of the eight Vishnu Swayambhu Kshetras and is listed as 106th and the last earthly Divya Desam. 11:00 am - Darshan at Lord Balaji Temple. The waiting time for the darshan depends on the crowd.

7:00 pm - Drop to Chennai.

Note: Special arrangements can be made for NRIs, babies below 12 months, and senior citizens. Additional fees may apply for visits to Kalahasti (1000/-), Thiruthani (500/-), Vellor Golden Temple (2500/-), Kanipakkam (2000/-), Govindarajan Temple (300/-), Kabila Thirtham (200/-), and Iskon (200/-).
