My walker did not arrive with the rest of my luggage. The handling crew (via partners) that works for British Airways is completely unhelpful and don't even answer the phone. I went to the airport 48 hours after my arrival to try to retrieve it but no one was in the lost and found office. After looking for someone to help for an hour, someone brought me back to look through some lost and found luggage but didn't have access to all the rooms and I didn't find it. I spent the next 3 days calling and being redirected to numbers that no one answers and people who barely offer help. I'm told they will follow up and now my holiday is half over and I haven't been able to leave my daughter's flat because I can't walk without my walker. British Airways is supposedly following up with their "valencia team" and will get back to me in 24-48 hours although they said that on Saturday too... the lack of accountability is beyond frustrating.

The London Eye Will Celebrate Star Wars Day With a Dazzling Light Show — How to Watch

The London Eye will pay tribute to the dark side.

The force is with London … or rather the fourth. In celebration of Star Wars Day on May 4, the British capital’s iconic observation wheel, the 443-foot-tall London Eye , will light up with an unprecedented light show celebrating the sci-fi fantasy franchise.

"London may not be a galaxy far, far away, but Darth Vader and Stormtroopers visiting the London Eye certainly cements London’s celebrations this May the 4th," Imran Tauqir, lastminute.com London Eye’s general manager, said in a release shared with Travel + Leisure .  

The nighttime spectacle will kick off at 7:45 p.m. London time and run all through the nighttime hours until 6 a.m. the following day. The Thames River-front wheel will glow in a red, silver, and black theme, inspired by the dark side, as well as the lightsaber colors from Sith Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Emperor Palpatine.

"Whilst the Eye hosts thousands of guests every day, we hope all fans in London and abroad this Star Wars Day find their inner Force and enjoy witnessing the illumination inspired by the villains of the Star Wars galaxy," Tauqir said.

Also in celebration of the annual holiday. "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" will be back in theaters for its 25th anniversary through May 9 in select theaters in the U.S., as well as in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom through May 9. The screenings will feature an exclusive look at the Disney+ series " The Acolyte ," premiering in June. 

This isn’t the first time the London Eye has played host to a pop culture spectacle. In 2021, the entire wheel was transformed into Captain America’s Shield . Last year, the wheel donned pink for the "Barbie" movie and blue for Doctor Who’s Christmas special . 

The London Eye has honored holidays with various colors like green for Eid last month and red for Lunar New Year . It even showed its royal pride by dousing itself in red, white, and blue in April 2018 to welcome the birth of Prince Louis .

Bowie also noted that the couple’s two children—Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2—likely impacted Markle’s decision to miss the first half of the trip. “There are other reasons, too: The pair undoubtedly try to minimize time where they're both away from their kids as well,” she added.

More than 10,000 London black-cab drivers launch £250m Uber lawsuit

Individuals could win £25,000 or more if they are successful in claim Uber broke taxi booking rules

More than 10,500 of London’s black-cab drivers have launched a £250m legal case against Uber, accusing it of breaking the capital’s taxi booking rules and deliberately misleading authorities to secure a licence.

The case, which has been filed in the high court in London by the litigation management firm RGL, resurrects a claim first raised five years ago, related to the way the ride-hailing app operated in London between 2012 and 2018.

Cabbies allege that Uber allowed drivers to take bookings directly from customers rather than through a centralised system such as those used by minicab services, in a direct breach of private hire rules.

They allege Uber was aware of the rules and deliberately misled Transport for London (TfL) about its booking model in order to obtain an operating licence and take business from black-cab drivers.

Uber has denied the allegations and says the claim is unfounded.

The drivers, who are being advised by the law firm Mishcon de Reya, argue in their suit that they faced unfair competition, and lost out on customers and income, as a result.

Garry White, a black-cab driver of 36 years, said: “This claim seeks justice and fair compensation on behalf of cab drivers across London. Uber seems to believe it is above the law and cabbies across London have suffered loss of earnings because of it. It is time they were held to account.”

RGL said that if the cabbies were successful in their claim they could secure more than £250m, with individuals potentially winning £25,000 or more.

An Uber spokesperson said: “These old claims are completely unfounded. Uber operates lawfully in London, is fully licensed by TfL , and is proud to serve millions of passengers and drivers across the capital.”

It marks the latest bout of legal trouble for Uber. In March, the San Francisco-based company reached an A$272m settlement (£142m) to compensate taxi and hire-car drivers who said they lost out when the company “aggressively” moved into the Australian market.

That class action, which was launched five years ago, was filed on behalf of 8,000 taxi and hire-car owners and drivers, who argued that Uber X launched in Australia with the intention of hurting their business. The suit also alleged that the company used unlicensed cars with unaccredited drivers in a “conspiracy by unlawful means” and misled regulators.

Dale Forwood, a black-cab driver of 12 years, said he hoped the London case would bring justice for local cabbies. “I am delighted to see this claim being filed today and that we will finally have our day in court,” he said. “Having seen for myself the harm that Uber’s unlawful behaviour has caused to hard-working cabbies, I look forward to justice being served.”

The trip itself was good. I have given only good as rating, because my first flight has been cancelled by a different airline and that caused disruption in my trip. I spent over ten hours in Luton airport and that caused me high tiredness, sickness, because of the very early initial trip. easyJet staff has been professional and friendly.

You booked my 7 year old son to sit on his own without his mum and dad in s separate row between two unfriendly adult strangers. The plane was disgusting and dirty, aisles and everywhere sticky. The lounge waiting area was filthy carpet and had insufficient seats so we had to sit on it to wait for 35 minutes and my 7 year old sone played on this filthy lounge carpet. The outside of the plane appeared clean. The pilot was helpful with the route and what to expect weather etc.

Comfort isn’t a word one uses on economy airlines! Boarding was okay, delayed but okay, the flight was good, quick and time was made up.

With stairs on a rainy tarmac, EasyJet flights are ok for younger travelers with backpack only. Seniors with mobility issues find it challenging 😰. However, the crew and disability assistance folks at both ends eased that discomfort as much as possible for their various roles. Kudos to airport and EasyJet employees for their kind service.

We each paid for 10kg checked in luggage. Flying out there were no issues sharing one case (20kg). Not so coming back. Additional £48 charge and unable to provide an explanation of why it was ok on one journey but not the other, or indeed what material difference it makes between 2x10kg cases vs 1x20kg case. Unfortunately didn't realise how far away Frankfurt Hahn airport is from Frankfurt the city. Outbound flight was delayed by 2.5 hours and no communication at airport, just a whisper emknating through the packed crowd ready to board at the gate as someone read out an email they had received. They allowed some guy to move seats after 3hours of him being next to someone very sick, There were several empty seats, but they moved him to mine. I find that incredibly inconsiderate and should not have been done.

Excellent. Very nice and comfortable business class. Only negative is that it was difficult to hear the pilot’s announcement.

The seats were tiny, being of a fairly petite build, I don’t usually expect to feel crammed and cramped in a seat, but I definitely was on this flight. I couldn’t even bend over to get anything out from under the seat in front and getting up to go to the bathroom at night with the seat backs reclined was nearly impossible. I had to do gymnastics to get over and out. For an airline that does long flights overnight, it’s kind of ridiculous.

Food not so good. Need more veggies and whole grain especially the late food. Couldn’t figure out how to use the entertainment system.

Check in was horrendous! Economy took 2 hours before seeing an agent. Business class was 0.5 - 1 hour.

The first class flight itself was first class, however getting to the airport and getting through the airport was agony. The BA flight sat on the taxiway for ages and caused us to miss our connecting flight which meant half a day lost. Our return flight on BA was cancelled so a dawn flight was made and we lost another half day. Goodby BA

In economy and food was ok, but with limited leg space (and I was in a 2 seat configuration) it was difficult to eat with a tiny seat tray. I spilt wine on my trousers. First time on British Air (I usually fly Turkish Air) and in a 777. Heathrow was pleasant but changing terminals awkward.

Starting with the flight Cairo to London the plain was so poor no entertainment at all uncomfortable seats although it’s 5 hours long,then an American airline plain took me from London to Miami it was a bad experience the crew most of flight time not available and they asked us to help our selves for any snacks if we need. From Miami to London actually was perfect flight with a huge plain and perfect crew but from London to Cairo was horrible plain with stiff fixed seats not movable no entertainment or wi fi very poor Menu which is unacceptable for a business class

There was some delay at Heathrow where a machine needed to "start the engines" wasn't available and they couldn't even find the team tasked to do it. Unacceptable. Caused about an hour delay and seemed unnecessary. Also saw several passengers abusing the overhead luggage situation, having too many large bags and not leaving enough space for others. The crew was good and the refreshments were good in quality and quantity.

They cancelled our ticket, gave us no warning, they reissued it 4 days prior to trip and it was cancelled again when we got to the airport- very stressful, the flight was overbooked so they drove us across Milan to malpensa

Stanton airport is outdated, pure equiped, airport. Fire alarms, power outages is a common routine, wich result ir flights delay , additional money spending and huge gathering of people in airport wich is unsafe.
