Innovative Trailers

Prolite trailers are waterproof, reliable and innovative. They have a one piece shell roof covered with fibreglass; a high quality product known for its durability and increased resistance to shocks, scratches and UV rays. Their walls are insulated with panels of DuroFoam; a closed-cell insulator made of expanded polystyrene, which is known for its long-lasting thermal resistance and preventing of water infiltration. In a case of water infiltration, DuroFoam will expel the water directly from the source; it will be visible quickly and can be neutralized hastily, unlike infiltrations that usually take months, even years to be discovered. Their 5/8 plywood floors covered with Tekmodo composite panels offer extra protection when traveling on the road or during prolonged stops in very humid places. In addition, all nautical seals offer an extra guarantee for the waterproofness and reliability of your Prolite trailer, while using innovative materials.

Saturday we were in L'Île-d'Orléans in a really rustic campsite. All down the shore is beautiful but not accessible to small trailers because of steepness of the trail ... except for us and our Liberty 1 :) The only mini trailer in the middle of the tents! The ultimate Quebec RV road trip

Travelling by motorhome is the ultimate way to discover Quebec's vast wilderness, and should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. It offers a true immersion in nature, nothing less!

If you're looking for a road trip that will leave you with unforgettable memories, fasten your seat belts and get ready for 14 days of fresh air and total freedom!  

Road trip map

Road trip summary, day 1: montreal.

Your Quebec holiday begins in Montreal , the second-largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris.

In Montreal, everything is accessible on foot or by public transit. 

Nicknamed "the city of festivals", Montreal is not lacking in atmosphere! 

Once you have dropped off your luggage at the hotel, go for a stroll in the Quartier des spectacles, the ultimate neighbourhood for some evening entertainment! 

Between the Francofolies, the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Just for Laughs comedy festival, you are sure to spend an enjoyable evening!

Canada by Motorhome

Days 2-3: mauricie (189 km / 117 mi).

This morning, you pick up your vehicle in a Montreal suburb.

Let the ultimate RV road trip begin!

Set a course for La Mauricie National Park , a vast 536 km 2 territory that includes 150 lakes surrounded by dense forest.

Once inside the park, a magnificent 63-km parkway provides access to scenic lookouts offering spectacular views, especially those at Le Passage and Île-aux-Pins. 

The next day, take advantage of your surroundings to do some canoeing, as this is an ideal place to enjoy this typical Canadian pastime. 

If you're feeling energetic, you won't want to miss the excursion to the impressive Waber Falls. 

Getting to the falls involves a 4-km canoe trip on Lake Wapizagonke and a 3-km hike along an intermediate-level hiking trail. 

Once you reach the falls, stop for lunch and to recharge your batteries, because the same effort awaits you for the return trip.

Days 4-5: Lac St-Jean (273 km / 170 mi)

This morning you head for Lac-Saint-Jean along Route 155, one of the most scenic routes in Quebec. 

The 155 follows the Saint-Maurice River for more than 100 km, offering spectacular river views. 

You may be surprised by the warm hospitality of the people of Lac St-Jean, where visitors are welcomed like long-time friends. 

Time permitting, pay a visit to the Val-Jalbert Historical Village, a real open-air museum where time appears to have stood still since the 1920s. 

There you will be able to admire the powerful Ouiatchouan Falls, which are higher than Niagara Falls! 

On your second day, pay a visit to the Saint-Félicien Wild Zoo, one of the most beautiful zoos in the world.

The zoo is home to more than 75 species of native boreal wildlife, roaming free in their natural habitat in large specially-designed areas. 

Days 6-7: Saguenay Fjord (156 km / 97 mi)

Your next stop is the magnificent Saguenay Fjord , a spectacular glacial valley now occupied by the Saguenay River.

There are many ways to explore the region's stunning landscapes: by boat, kayak, sailboat, hiking, and more. 

Be sure to leave time to visit Anse-St-Jean and Ste-Rose-du-Nord, two of the most beautiful villages in Quebec. 

Days 8-9: Tadoussac (155 km / 96mi)

Today you set a course for Tadoussac , the oldest village in Canada.

Tadoussac Bay is considered one of the 50 most beautiful bays in the world, and is the ideal spot to do some whale watching.

Take a whale-watching zodiac cruise in the company of a naturalist guide, who will teach you all kinds of interesting facts about the lives of marine mammals.

Days 10-11: Jacques-Cartier Park (323 km / 200mi)

The adventure continues in Jacques-Cartier Park , a corner of paradise just kilometres from Quebec City.

But first, enjoy stunning views of the St. Lawrence River along Route 138 on the way from Baie-Saint-Paul.

Once in the park, you will discover a spectacular landscape characterized by the contrast between the deep Jacques-Cartier River glacial valley and its towering cliffs.

Experienced hikers will enjoy the Les Loups trail (11 km round-trip), one of the most beautiful hikes in Quebec.

The awe-inspiring view from the summit will leave you breathless! 

Days 12-13: Quebec City  (38 km / 23 mi)

This morning you head for the "cradle of the French language", where you will spend your first day discovering its most beautiful treasures. 

Start with a visit to the historic Old Quebec district, where you will find the only remaining fortified city in North America. 

This part of the city is proud to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Be sure to take a stroll through the Petit-Champlain district, whose architecture and small picturesque streets are sure to charm you. 

Then make your way to the iconic Château Frontenac, the emblem of Quebec City. 

In the evening, climb aboard the Quebec-Lévis ferry to admire the city lights reflected in the river: certainly one of the best views of the Old Capital.

The next day begins with a visit to the spectacular Montmorency Falls Park. 

Then, at the end of the morning, explore île d’Orléans for a gourmet countryside getaway. 

Day 14: Montreal (255 km / 158 mi)

This morning you return to Montreal, where you drop off your motorhome.

It's time to head for the airport for your return flight home.
