Khám phá Saint Petersburg - cố đô tráng lệ đẹp siêu lòng của nước Nga

Bạn đã từng nghe đến Venice phương Bắc chưa? Đó chính là Saint Petersburg (SPB) - hay mọi người còn gọi nó với rất nhiều cái tên Saint, Len, Piter). Là thành phố lớn thứ 2 nước Nga (chỉ sau Moscow), nằm trên con sông Neva êm đềm, cả thành phố khoác lên mình 1 câu chuyện lịch sử cùng vẻ đẹp cổ kính, lãng mạn và rất châu Âu luôn ấy. Chính vì thế mà nó là thành phố duy nhất trên trái đất được UNESCO đưa vào danh sách Di sản Văn hoá thế giới.

Nếu bạn đến với Saint Petersburg, bạn sẽ không thể bỏ qua được những địa điểm hấp dẫn như Nhà thờ St. Isaac, Cung điện mùa hè Peterhof, Cung điện mùa thu, Nhà thờ pháo đài Peter & Paul, Nhà thờ Spilled Blood, Hermitage,... Lưu ý: Tiền tệ của Nga là Rub. Trong thời gian này khi tới Nga thì bạn sẽ không thể rút đô trực tiếp từ thẻ visa (nếu có rút thì ngân hàng sẽ tự động đổi ra rub và trả cho bạn), mình nghĩ tốt nhất bạn mang đô tiền mặt theo người và đổi ở ngân hàng. Ở Nga hiện tại thì bạn có thể bán đô nhưng không thể mua đô từ ngân hàng.

1. Thời điểm đẹp nhất đi Saint

Thời điểm đẹp nhất đi Saint là vào mùa hè (tháng 6-8) và mùa thu (tháng 9-10).

2. Di chuyển tới Saint Petersburg như thế nào?

Trong thời điểm hiện tại thì bạn có thể di chuyển tới Saint bằng cách bay vòng qua nước thứ 3 như Dubai, Qatar, UAE… Theo kinh nghiệm của bản thân mình thì bạn hãy đặt vé sớm trước khoảng 2-6 tháng. Đặt vé vào thời gian này giúp cho bạn nhận được nhiều ưu đãi nhất cũng như khuyến mãi.

Do đường bay thẳng tới Nga hiện đang đóng nên theo thông báo của Đại sứ quán Việt Nam tại LB Nga thì có các chuyến bay vòng (transit tại một nước thứ ba) và các hãng hàng khôngnhư :

Giá vé máy bay 2 chiều khứ hồi tầm 70.000 – 120.000 RUB (tương đương 29 – 50 triệu đồng).

Khi tới sân bay Pulkovo thì bạn có thể lựa chọn di chuyển bằng taxi (bên này phổ biến dùng Yandex taxi). Từ sân bay Pulkovo thì bạn cần phải chọn loại xe này do chưa có xe bus hay tàu điện ngầm tới đây.

Khi tới Saint, bạn có thể di chuyển trong thành phố bằng metro và xe bus hoặc xe đạp, xe cân bằng rất thú vị. Giá 1 lượt đi metro, bus là 60 RUB = 25.000 VND, hoặc bạn có thể mua vé theo ngày tầm 300 RUB = 125.000 VND (bạn có thể đi thoải mái, không giới hạn lượt metro, bus)

3. Ở đâu khi tới Saint và chi phí

Khi tới Saint bạn có thể đặt khách sạn hoặc căn hộ. Giá phòng trung bình từ 1800 – 5000 RUB tương đương 700.000 – 2.000.000 VND. Như sinh viên bọn mình đi du lịch thì sẽ thường thuê căn hộ ở trên trang Avito của Nga. Đây là một trang rất phổ biến của Nga để book phòng cũng như mua bán đồ cũ.

Ngoài ra bạn có thể chọn cho mình một khách sạn thì với sự tham khảo của mình thì bạn có thể chọn Pushka Inn Hotel. Đây là một khách sạn được du khách người Việt rất yêu thích với những ưu điểm như:

Thánh đường Kazan

Thánh đường Kazan hay còn được gọi là nhà thờ Đức mẹ Kazan, đây là là một nhà thờ của Giáo hội chính thống Nga có vị trí trên đại lộ Nevsky Prospekt ở thành phố Saint Petersburg. Nơi này thờ phụng đức mẹ Kazan và cũng là địa điểm ghi dấu những chiến tích lịch sử hào hùng của Nga từ thế kỷ XVIII.

Nhà thờ đổ máu

Nhà thờ máu đổ chính là nơi Nga hoàng Alexander II bị ám sát, giờ đây trở thành một công trình kiến trúc ấn tượng bên dòng kênh đào ở Saint. Nhà thờ đổ máu này nằm cách thánh đường Kazan có 500m, bạn hoàn toàn có thể đến thăm thánh đường Kazan và đi bộ tới Nhà thờ đổ máu.

Nhà thờ St.Isaac

Nhà thờ St.Isaac cũng là một điểm đến hoàn hảo nếu như bạn muốn ghé thăm thành phố này. Nơi đây được ví như một bảo tàng có kiến trúc vô cùng tuyệt vời. Nóc của nó được dát vàng và độ cao của nhà thờ này lên tới 100m và đứng thứ 4 trên toàn thế giới. Nếu bạn đứng trên tầng trên của nóc nhà thờ này thì bạn có thể nhìn thấy hết được toàn bộ Saint. Vì như mình được biết thì các ngôi nhà ở Saint không được phép xây quá cao, thế nên nhìn từ trên xuống sẽ thấy được vẻ đẹp cổ kính và yên mình của “Venice phương Bắc”.

Sông Neva là một trong số các con sông có ý nghĩa lớn trong lịch sử của châu Âu. Trong thời Trung cổ, con sông rộng và đi lại dễ dàng này là hành trình thương mại quan trọng của người Varyag tới những người Hy Lạp, do nó nối liền việc vận chuyển hàng hóa từ biển Baltic sang sông Volga để dẫn tới phương Đông. Nó cũng là địa điểm diễn ra trận chiến trên sông Neva nổi tiếng năm 1240. Nó cũng là một phần của tuyến giao thông thủy Bạch Hải-Baltic. Bạn cũng có thể khám phá một vòng thành phố bằng tour đi thuyền trên các dòng kênh ở Saint với giá khoảng 400 RUB (tương đương 164.000 VND).

Cung điện mùa đông cũng là một điểm đến mà bạn nên ghé. Cung điện mùa đông đối diện với sông Neva xinh đẹp. Nơi đây có kiến trúc độc đáo và đáng ngưỡng mộ. Hiện nay Cung điện mùa đông trở thành bảo tàng nghệ thuật Hermitage, nơi lưu giữ khoảng trên 3 triệu báu vật, là một trong hai bảo tàng lớn nhất thế giới cùng với Louvre tại Paris, Pháp. Thật sự mình choáng ngợp và cuốn hút khi vào thăm cung điện này. Hiện tại vé vào cửa cung điện mùa đông là 700 RUB (tương đương 288.000 VND), tuy nhiên cung điện mở cửa miễn phí vào thứ 5 đầu tiên mỗi tháng. Mặc dù vậy kể cả phải mua vé hay miễn phí thì bạn phải xếp hàng từ sớm, vì số người vào thăm bảo tàng rất đông nên mình chọn quay lại vào buổi tối cho thoáng và thật bất ngờ buổi tối còn lên đèn rất đẹp.

Đây chính là điểm đến nổi tiếng nhất của thành phố. Nó xây dựng vào năm 1710 dưới thời Sa hoàng. Đây là nơi nổi tiếng được du khách thường xuyên ghé thăm khi tới đây. Tại đây có rất nhiều các tác phẩm xuất sắc của ngành điêu khắc, hội họa và đặc biệt là làm vườn.

Tàu điện ngầm ở Nga nói chung được mệnh danh là “cung điện dưới lòng đất”. Hệ thống tàu điện ngầm ở Saint thì khá đơn giản, nhưng mình thực sự ấn tượng vì nó được thiết kế và trang trí rất ý nghĩa theo từng bến. Nếu tới Nga nói chung và tới Saint nói riêng, bạn nên dành chút thời gian để khám phá “cung điện dưới lòng đất” này.

Cầu mở (cầu Cung Điện) trên sông Neva là một địa điểm gần như được ưu tiên hàng đầu phải chiêm ngưỡng đối với bất kỳ du khách nào khi đến Xanh Petecbua. Một biểu tượng gắn với vẻ đẹp tuyệt vời của cố đô Nga. Cầu Cung điện – cây cầu mở tại St. Petersburg được nhiều người biết tới. Đây là cây cầu đúc 5 nhịp, trong đó có 2 nhịp ở giữa nâng lên, hạ xuống được, nối liền đảo Bộ tư lệnh hải quân và sông Neva lớn. Hình ảnh của cung điện trên pháo đài Petropavlovskaya được cho là một trong những biểu tượng nổi bật của thành phố mà khi du lịch Nga bạn không thể bỏ lỡ.

5. Lưu ý khi du lịch Saint Petersburg

Và khi đến với Saint thì mình khuyên bạn nên thử những món ăn truyền thống ở đây, vì nó mang hương vị truyền thống đặc trưng của người Nga. Ví dụ như món cháo Kasha là bánh mì đen là hai món ăn truyền thống có thể bắt gặp ở mọi nơi trong thành phố. Món ăn này được ví như cha và mẹ của người Nga vậy.

Bạn cũng nên thưởng thức cả soup của cải đỏ nữa. Với màu đỏ rực đặc trưng cùng với nguyên liệu là thịt bò và của cải đỏ thì đây thực sự là món ăn hấp dẫn tuyệt vời với vị giác. Ngoài ra bạn cũng nên thử salad của Nga, bánh Pirozhki thơm ngon với nhân thịt bên trong hay bánh Pelmeni bọc thịt và bên ngoài là bột mì. Và còn rất rất nhiều những món ngon khác bạn cũng nên thử để cảm nhận được nét văn hóa của người Nga.

Russia’s second largest city is an astonishing combination of history, innovation, commerce, and breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Criss-crossed with canals and with the legendary Winter Palace at its heart, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a destination that should be on every adventure traveller’s bucket list. A trip to Saint Petersburg makes a wonderful location for a city break too, and offers so much to both tourists and business travellers alike. St. Petersburg travel highlights

Modern St. Petersburg is a relatively young city. Peter the Great founded it in 1703, although the area has been populated for over 2,500 years. With so much history on display, it is truly a culture lover’s delight. From the opera to theatre, art to magnificent architecture, St. Petersburg welcomes visitors with a display of opulence and luxury, surrounded by dramatic natural beauty all year round.

At the top of any list of tourist attractions on a trip to St. Petersburg has to be the Winter Palace. This massive royal palace and museum complex is packed with over 3 million  artefacts from around the world. The Hermitage Museum, which forms the main tourist attraction, is home to one of the world’s greatest collections of art. With so much to see, it is a good idea to join a guided tour so that you don’t miss anything. It is also advisable to purchase a ticket online before you arrive, as queues can be long.

Although the Winter Palace complex, including the magnificent Palace Square towards the western end of Nevsky Prospect, dominates the city, there are also plenty of other attractions to see. Check out the Peter and Paul Fortress, the last resting place of a succession of Romanov Tsarsars. The cathedrals of St. Petersburg are magnificent, filled with golden murals and dazzling interiors. For a truly photogenic example, head to the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, with its typically Russian Orthodox style towers. For another great photo opportunity, the fountains of the Neva River at Vasilievsky Island are not to be missed.

There are dozens of museums and galleries to explore, and even a pair of 3,000-year-old granite sphinxes that have travelled all the way from Thebes. In fact, there is so much to see on a trip to St. Petersburg that one visit will never be enough.

St. Petersburg is the home of Russian ballet and opera, and if you’re travelling to St. Petersburg for business or pleasure, you should try and get at least one visit to the theatre scheduled before you leave. The Mariinsky Theatre (the home of the Kirov troupe) is a world-class venue that puts on both opera and ballet performances. Other venues include the Mikhailovskiy Theatre, the St. Petersburg Opera, and the Conservatory. For classical music, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Grand Hall is the base for one of Russia’s greatest orchestras, while the Small Hall next door hosts smaller recitals and chamber music performances.

To see St. Petersburg from a different perspective, head to St. Issac’s Cathedral, which is the highest church in the city and offers a great viewpoint. If you don’t have a head for heights, a canal cruise will take you past the Winter Palace and other top attractions.

Russian food is famous for its richness, variety, and quality. This huge country has many regional variations that create a tapestry of flavours. In St. Petersburg you will find some outstanding Uzbek and Tajik food such as plov, lagman and shorpa. For the best Uzbek dishes head to Sennoy market where you will find authentic Uzbek restaurants. Georgian food is also well represented across the city, with rich stews and beef dishes the main attraction. St. Petersburg has literally hundreds of restaurants to explore, and even the street cafés will serve up delicacies such as Russian caviar.

One of the top souvenirs to buy in the city are Raketa wristwatches, which have been made here for centuries. For the genuine article head to Petrodvorets Watch Factory, which has been making the watches for more than 300 years.

If you wish to haggle for a bargain during your trip  to St. Petersburg, then there are plenty of markets to explore. Udelnaya flea market is a treasure house of trinkets, while the Souvenirs Fair behind the Church of the Saviour on the Spilt Blood is a great spot for affordable mementos of your trip. For some high-end shopping, Passazh is an exclusive retail centre specialising in luxury goods, and Gostiny Dvor is the city’s oldest and largest centre that sells a huge range of goods.

A free art festival is coming to St. Petersburg’s Vinoy Park this weekend

S t. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront is always lively these days, and will be even more so when longtime tradition the Mainsail Art Festival returns to Vinoy Park on April 20-21.

Now in its 49th year, the fine art and craft festival brings artists working in painting, photography, ceramics, glass, outdoor sculpture, jewelry, wood, fiber, metal and mixed media. They vie for $60,000 in award prize money, including a $10,000 best of show prize and purchase awards judged this year by Katherine Pill, the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg’s senior curator of contemporary art.

The best part? It’s free to attend.

Each year, a participating artist’s work is chosen as the festival’s featured image, appearing on posters, tote bags and T-shirts that are for sale. This year’s piece is a painting by Stephanee Ann, and it depicts St. Petersburg landmarks including the St. Pete Pier and The Dalí Museum.

For those who purchase art during the festival, there is an art valet service available at the information tent.

Another returning tradition is the Young at Art Student Showcase, featuring work from Pinellas County School students.

Here’s a guide to making the most of the festival.

Times and location

The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive NE.

Parking and transportation

There is paid parking within walking distance at the SouthCore Garage (101 First Ave. S.), the Al Lang Surface Lot (230 First Ave. SE) and along Beach Drive. A special free shuttle route created by the St. Petersburg Trolley for the festival has stops at Second Street South between Central Avenue and First Avenue South, and at Vinoy Park. The trolleys come about every 15 minutes, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. They are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

It’s tempting to bring your dog, but with booths filled with fragile artwork, it’s better to leave furry friends at home. Service animals are permitted, however.

How to dress

Wear a wide-brimmed hat for sun protection, as there’s not a lot of shade out there, and sunscreen. Vinoy Park can also be a bit of a dust bowl, so consider wearing closed-toe shoes and pack some wet wipes.

The Junior League’s Kids Create Tent offers five make-and-take crafts, inspired by children’s books.

Food and drinks

You can’t bring your own cooler to the festival, but there will be food and drinks to purchase. Note that the transactions are card-only.

Entertainment

Live music cranks the festival up a notch. Saturday’s lineup starts at noon with Bad Habits, followed by Push Button Rocket, Doug South Band and Memphis Lightning. On Sunday, students of the School of Rock kick things off at 1 p.m., followed by The Lint Rollers and T. Curtis and the Florida Scoundrels. Additionally, Deanna the Mime will be strolling around for your entertainment.
