Street Fighter 6: How to Complete the Equivalent Exchange Side-Quest

Street Fighter 6's Equivalent Exchange is a World Tour side-quest that requires players to explore and fight their way through Metro City.

Street Fighter 6 's World Tour mode is absolutely full of things to do, especially when it comes to side-quests. Seeking these out is incredibly valuable, as they can provide a ton of extra character and style experience. While players could simply rush the main story, taking time to complete at least some of the mode's side content can be incredibly rewarding, granting players Zenny, items, and even new fighting styles early.

Equivalent Exchange is an early side-quest given to the player's custom character by the Counterfeiter Leonardo in Metro City. After completing the main story mission "The Search for the Bag," Leonardo will teach players about how NPC item drops work and how to check what a character can drop and how to obtain it before starting a fight. While the quest itself simply involves getting a few items from some NPCs, tracking them down in the busy Metro City area can be tricky.

How Street Fighter 6's Equivalent Exchange Works

After completing "The Search for the Bag" and talking to Counterfeiter Leonardo, players will get tasked with tracking down cards, pipes, and rings scattered around Metro City. Players will need two of each, and these can be obtained by earning them from NPCs around Metro City. Leonardo mentions that players should track down these items as they do other things. It's generally up to RNG whether someone is carrying one of the items needed.

Each group of items spawns in specific areas around Metro City. NPCs carrying the Cards will be found around Beat Square , players can locate NPCs with Pipes around Chinatown , and the Rings can be found in the Bayside Park area . Keep checking the various NPCs wandering around the area and the rewards they offer, and these items should eventually pop up. Just be sure to read the drop requirement. While rushing the locations of the supplies Leonardo needs can work, picking them up while doing other missions is far more efficient.

Why Equivalent Exchange Is Worth Completing for World Tour Players

Equivalent Exchange can take a fair bit of time to complete, but it's worth the effort. The side-quest is a clever way to teach players about how World Tour works , showing them the kinds of rewards they can obtain by fulfilling certain conditions. It's a fairly straightforward quest, so players don't really need to worry about spending too much time on it.

The actual mission reward is worthwhile as well. After delivering the materials to Leonardo, he'll give players three small energy drinks and the Officer's Cap. It's a short and simple enough side-quest that players can generally take on at whatever pace they'd like. The only real difficulty is remembering where each of the items can be found. So long as players know where to look, they should have no issue completing Equivalent Exchange.

The  Street Fighter 6  Brother and Sister side mission is an optional side mission that requires some rare materials to be tracked down. Street Fighter 6 ' s World Tour mode has plenty of side objectives for completionists to tackle, but few take as much time as this one.

Equivalent Exchange is a side mission that pops up early in the game , after working with a certain counterfeiter. Here is everything you need to know to take on the Equivalent Exchange side mission in Street Fighter 6  World Tour mode.

How to begin Equivalent Exchange

During the main story, you will be tasked with making a replica of a stolen handbag. To do so, you will need to work with Counterfeiter Leonardo who can be found on the Sky Lane . The mission will require you to gather some leather and a specific clasp to craft the bag.

Meeting the counterfeiter and starting the Equivalent Exchange mission in Street Fighter 6 World Tour

Once it is done, Leonardo will have another mission for you. This is the Equivalent Exchange side mission, which requires you to find two cards, two pipes, and two rings .

How to complete Equivalent Exchange

The items you are tasked with acquiring are quite rare, especially if you do not know where to look. To get the items, you have to find NPCs carrying those items, and then fight them .

Finding an NPC with a ring in Street Fighter 6 World Tour, who carry items for the Equivalent Exchange mission

By checking a person's details you can see what rewards you can get for fighting them and completing certain objectives.

For example, you might encounter someone who has a pipe, but you need to hit them with 8 punches in order to get it. Just like the other rewards, you must complete these objectives to get the items for the mission.

The three items can be found on NPCs in three different locations. For pipes, go to Chinatown and check all of the fighters there to see if anyone has a pipe. Cards can be acquired from people hanging around Beat Square . Finally, rings can be found in Bayside Park , which is at the southern end of the Sky Lane.

These items are quite rare to find, so this could take a lot of tries. You might just want to pop into these areas and look around each time you are passing to gradually complete the mission.

If you are determined to complete it as quickly as possible, either change the time of day or leave Metro City and return to reset the characters.

Equivalent Exchange Sidequest Location

Street Fighter 6: Starting Equivalent Exchange quest

The side quest revolves around fighting NPCs for specific items, and it can sometimes be difficult to find out which NPC has what item. Therefore, the prior quest is extremely important to complete if you want to complete the World Tour Equivalent Exchange side quest effectively in Street Fighter 6.

How To Complete Equivalent Exchange Sidequest

Collecting Items from NPCs

  • Two Rings: commonly  found around the Bayside Park
  • Two Pipes : commonly found around Chinatown
  • Two Cards : commonly found around Beat Square

Although there is no time limit for completing the side quest, you should get the job done so you can focus on other things. After reaching the locations, simply go near the citizens and press Triangle/Y to see their details . If you see that they are carrying the items that you need, press Square/X to challenge them to a fight. Once you defeat them, you can acquire the item.

After you spend some time at the locations mentioned, you will eventually get the required items. However, you may face challenges in looting Pipes from Chinatown as a small section of the area receives a pipe spawn. Therefore, if you can’t find NPCs carrying it, try leaving the area and then coming back.

Moreover, you may struggle in fighting against the NPCs as they might die soon . If you get in that situation, you can simply eat some meals in Beat Square that lower your attack for a limited duration. With your attacking skills nerfed , you can easily fight NPCs and get the items without killing them.

After you get two of each required item, your job will be to deliver it to Counterfeiter Leonardo. Once you deliver these items, you will be rewarded with the following:

  • Three energy drinks
  • Officer’s cap

To conclude, Street Fighter 6 Equivalent Exchange is a side quest in World Tour mode. You will need to visit Counterfeiter Leonardo to start the quest. In total, you will have to fight NPCs to get Rings, Pipes, and Cards . Visit the locations mentioned where you will have a higher chance of finding these items. After completing the quest, you will receive three energy drinks and an Officer’s cap.

Street Fighter 6, different versions explained

How to Complete Equivalent Exchange in Street Fighter 6

Image of Matt Anderson

Street Fighter 6’s World Tour story mode heavily encourages players to venture off the beaten path and explore all that they can in the open-world environment. One of the many side quests worth investigating is the Equivalent Exchange quest, where players collect materials around the city to help Counterfeiter Leonardo out. Here’s how to complete the Equivalent Exchange quest in Street Fighter 6 .

Equivalent Exchange in Street Fighter 6

To complete the Equivalent Exchange quest in Street Fighter 6 , players must collect six items in Metro City and bring them back to Counterfeiter Leonardo. He will be waiting for you in his usual spot on the Sky Lane in Metro City, and once talking to him, he will give you your assignment. To complete the task, players will have to find the following items:

  • Two Cards – These will usually be found around the Beat Square area of Metro City.
  • Two Pipes – These are typically found in the Chinatown area of Metro City.
  • Two Rings – These should be in the Seaside Park area of Metro City.

Counterfeiter Leonardo will make note that this task will take some time, so be prepared for it to consume you a bit. Keep an eye on different NPCs and the details of the items they hold and how to acquire them. Once you do collect them, bring them back to Counterfeiter Leonardo and he’ll reward you with three Energy Drink S’s and the Officer’s Cap, which you can equip onto your character.

That’s all we’ve got on how to complete the Equivalent Exchange quest in Street Fighter 6 . If you’re looking for other ways to level up your character (this writer knows how challenging that can be), check out Twinfinite’s article on how to raise your character’s stats .

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Cards

What Are Cards Used for in Street Fighter 6 World Tour?

Image of J.R. Waugh

So you’re playing Street Fighter 6 and probably enjoying yourself so far. You’ve been taken on as a student under numerous classic SF heroes, but have also gone on to enjoy the perks of World Tour mode, namely exploring the map and finding new side quests. You’ll find this a worthwhile substitute when you are bored of beating up mimes, but sometimes the spoils or essential items raise some eyebrows. For instance, what are cards used for in Street Fighter 6 World Tour?

What Are Cards Used for in Street Fighter 6 (SF6) World Tour?

Cards do nothing by themselves but can be given alongside Rings and Pipes to complete the Equivalent Exchange sub-mission in Street Fighter 6 World Tour.

You will need 2 of each, and once you bring them back to the subtly-named Counterfeiter Leonardo near the train tracks at Skywalk Lane. Your reward for completing this is the Officer’s Cap, which makes it worth it. There are plenty of other opportunities to customize your outfits in the game, too.

Where Can You Find Cards in SF6 World Tour?

Cards are found at Beat Square, and can be acquired as rewards for meeting conditions under the ‘Details’ menu when interacting with NPCs you can fight. The conditions are seemingly random, from using a certain character’s style to win the fight, to getting 3 knockdowns, and more. Just keep roaming the area and pressing ‘Y’ or ‘△’ to see the conditions until you see a Card as your reward.

Street-Fighter-6-World-Tour-Cards-Location

Counterfeiter Leonardo, who takes these items, is found at Skywalk Lane, accessible from the Downtown South Area, where you can enter the alleyways to reach a ladder. Turn right, and you can’t miss him, yellow/blue jumpsuit and blue hair. Honestly, he looks as if a minion from Despicable Me got his wish granted to become human and then went straight to the salon for a dye job.
