BABY ANIMALS Announce 30TH Anniversary National Tour with Special Guests KILLING HEIDI

They came blazing out of the radio with the aptly titled ‘Early Warning’. “Too young to know,” Suze DeMarchi sang, “Too old to listen.” Now, nearly three decades later, Baby Animals are all grown-up and ready to hit the road to celebrate their 30th anniversary, with special guests Killing Heidi and armed with their first best-of collection, simply titled Greatest Hits and brand new single ’How Do I Make You’ .

The tour commences on May 3 at Revesby Workers Club, followed by Sydney’s Metro Theatre on May 4, Croxton Bandroom Melbourne on May 10, with two shows at Adelaide’s The Gov on May 17 and 18, The Astor Perth on May 24 and Metropolis Fremantle on May 25, before concluding in Queensland with Southport RSL on May 31 and Brisbane’s The Tivoli on June 1.

The tour is the perfect marriage of two of Australia’s most loved bands, and the first time that Baby Animals and Killing Heidi have toured together.  Between the two bands, the setlists read like a page from the great Aussie songbook – ‘Early Warning’, ‘One Word’, ‘Painless’, ‘Rush You’, ‘Weir’, ‘Mascara’ – just to name a few.  Fans are in for scorching night of rock and pop!

Baby Animals have been one of Australia’s biggest bands since they burst onto the scene with their self-titled debut. The band was touring with Van Halen in the US when they heard the album had topped the charts. Baby Animals spent six weeks at number one in Australia – keeping Nirvana’s Nevermind out of top spot.

Baby Animals went eight times platinum and won three ARIA Awards – Best Album, Best Debut Album and Best Debut Single. It was also declared one of the Top 25 albums of 1992 in UK rock bible Kerrang!, and Baby Animals performed ‘Painless’ on Late Night With David Letterman.

Baby Animals was later featured in The 100 Best Australian Albums, with the book explaining: “Baby Animals exploded on the Australian music scene with a bracing fusion of heavy metal bravura, a touch of glam dynamics and a look and a swagger.”

Fierce and uncompromising – the first single from the band’s second album was called ‘Don’t Tell Me What To Do’ – Suze DeMarchi was also featured in the book Rock Chicks, The Hottest Female Rockers from the 1960s to Now. “Baby Animals was like a breath of fresh air,” the book stated, “a hard-rocking band fronted by a guitar-wielding, tattooed temptress who could rock with the best of them.”

To accompany their forthcoming tour with Killing Heidi, fans are in for a real treat, with a brand new smokin’ hot Baby Animals single dropping on February 15.  Picture this – the summer of 1980. A teenager with big rock dreams is at her family’s Perth home, listening to one of her idols, Linda Ronstadt. Fast-forward nearly four decades and that teenager, Suze DeMarchi, has recorded a stunning version of Linda Ronstadt’s 1980 hit, ‘How Do I Make You’, with her band, Baby Animals.  It’s a 2.14-minute blast of punky power pop.     

“I grew up listening to Linda Ronstadt,” Suze says, “‘How Do I Make You’ is such a great song, and it was right up our alley. Being a guitar band, we punk it up a little bit, and it’s a lot of fun to play live.”

‘How Do I Make You’ is one of three new songs on Baby Animals’ Greatest Hits , which gathers tracks from the four Baby Animals albums.

Anthemic singles ‘Mascara’ and ‘Weir’  made Reflector a blow-out success and cemented the work as one of Australia’s most loved pop albums.

The early naughties belonged to Killing Heidi with Weir placing #2 and Mascara #14 in triple j’s Hottest 100. Reflector went onto to take out four ARIA awards and reach 4 x platinum status. The Hooper siblings also won the critically-acclaimed APRA songwriters of the year award.   

Ella Hooper explains, “What Killing Heidi’s music meant and still means to the people that shared that amazing time with us really blows me away. I meet so many people, especially young women, who tell me how Killing Heidi inspired them to be themselves, back themselves or even start a band, and I’m completely honoured that it had that effect on people.” 

Suze DeMarchi says, “We are so pumped for this tour, and to share the stage with Killing Heidi – can’t wait to get out there and play live again!”

From Perth, Western Australia comes a band with a rather cute name, they are called Baby Animals!

The Rock band is a part of the 'Social Family records' label, a band true to themselves even recording their Debut album in New York, with the exact sounds they wanted and they felt necessary, you can be more than sure there is nothing but the love and attention from the band themselves in every; chord, note and key! streaming from their beautiful instruments!

My personal favourite song of theirs 'Early Warning' just makes me feel so comfortable with myself and the life I live because anything I do is okay because I am 'Too young to know, to Old to listen!' The audience appeared to love this song as well because they were cheering and even stomping their feet in rhythm with the drums when the band took to the stage to perform this song! While the vocals of lead singer Suze DeMarchi sounded even better live, than they do on recording, and on recording she sounds legendary, so imagine the sound that we were delighted and blessed with!

If the chance arises to see Baby Animals perform live I would advise all to take it as soon as humanly possible!

The Hollywood Waltz opened for the Baby Animals with a great reception from the mixed-aged crowd. Performing their hour-long set they have an infectious sound,  80’s pop rock with a 2023 twist – just what you need to get you moving & dancing!

The six-piece band consisting of two guitars, drums, keyboard and saxophone is led by frontman Matt Druery. With clear & impressive vocals accompanying great lyrics. The band are set to launch their new single ‘You Said it Wouldn’t Happen’ at The Lady Hampshire in Camperdown on November 17th. 

A jam-packed set with sax solos and extended versions, I thoroughly enjoyed the performance of mainly original songs and a great cover version of Dragon’s ‘Rain’.

The Baby Animals fronted by Suze DeMarchi and her awesome vocals, just like Joan Jett before her, Suze is the original 1st lady of rock in the 90’s.

The Baby Animals are just as powerful and as cool as ever. They performed for just over a hour at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, Melbourne. Opening with ‘Rush you” and finishing with ‘Fire’, the crowd loved every moment and sang loudly to all the hits.

Dave Leslie on guitar is one of the most underrated Australian guitarist. His performance was outstanding along with Dario Bortolin on bass playing up to the crowd and the photographers and Mick Skelton on Drums. Suze made reference to how the iconic Corner Hotel was where they performed one of their 1st gigs back in the day and how the Melbourne crowd never disappoints.

If you are a new fan just discovering the Baby Animals or an original fan from the 90’s you won’t be disappointed in the performance. Rock gets better with age.

Private animal husbandry, private baby goat & pig cuddling, private baby cow cuddling.

 When you book a private tour, it is only the people in your group.  Join a farmer to do a private animal husbandry session to meet all of the farm animals and learn how to feed them! Learn about the care of each animal and cuddle with them! Learn how to bottle feed baby goats & baby cows, feed the horses & sheep, love on the bunnies & more!

 Baby Cow Cuddling is a great way to connect to, relax and love a baby cow. Cows are very sweet, affectionate animals that love to kiss and cuddle. Their heart rate is slower than humans, so it tends to help people relax. They love chin rubs. They will often chew their cud while they cuddle with you which is very calming. Cows do this when they are relaxed and happy. Animals have a gift to help humans relax and heal. Most people when in the presence of an animal, especially a new one, tend to be in the present moment - no worrying about anything and oxytocin is released which makes them feel good. Not only is cow cuddling fun, it is also healing and healthy. Age requirement is 7 and older. Thank you

Come enjoy a private session of baby goat and baby pig cuddling! They are both just a few weeks old and absolutely love attention! The baby goats love to jump on your back. When they get tired, they will fall asleep in your arms. The baby pigs will walk over to your lap and love to get belly rubs! It is so important for these babies to get love and attention.

Kitten Cuddling

KITTEN CUDDLING ON HOLD! Kittens have been adopted!!

We have the cutest, most playful and snuggly kittens! They love to play and snuggle! They are also available for adoption!

The kittens are very young and delicate. They need to be handled in the most loving, gentle, and caring way. These sessions need to be quiet and serene. Parents, please keep this in mind when booking this session.

There are actually some very tangible benefits to cuddling cats. Studies show that hugging a kitty can lower blood pressure, and help people cope with loneliness, depression, anxiety, and stress.

Studies show that positive interactions with people keep cats healthier, so you are helping the cats too!

Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary offers a farm animal husbandry program that will be hands on for the kids to learn how to raise baby farm animals and plants. The kids will learn about a variety of different farm animals and how to take care of them every day. Children learn to act responsibly and empathetic towards the animals and nature. We 

Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary offers a farm animal husbandry program that will be hands on for the kids to learn how to raise baby farm animals and plants. The kids will learn about a variety of different farm animals and how to take care of them every day. Children learn to act responsibly and empathetic towards the animals and nature. We encourage children to learn the joys of farm life and the importance of locally sourced, healthy food through hands-on experiences and educational activities. We will make a craft. They will also learn how to grow and pick flowers & herbs!

Age group: 7 to 10 years old (12 children total) (If you have a group of older children who want to do this, we can tweak the program for them and do a group with older kids)

Sign up daily. Monday - Friday, 9-12

Location: Rose Bridge Farm and Sanctuary. The camp will take place on a working farm and will have access to a barn, cottage, garden, and outdoor space for activities and recreation.

Costs: $50 a day

Counselors: The camp will be staffed by our farmer Gracie who will provide guidance and supervision.

Children will participate in a variety of activities, including:

Crafts: Children will make handcrafted items related to the farm, such as tie-dyed shirts using natural dyes from plants on the farm, decorate horse shoes, make flower and herb pots to take home, fresh flower bouquets etc.

Animal care: Children will learn about animal husbandry which is caring for farm animals and get to help feed and groom them.

Gardening: Children will plant seeds and tend to the crops, learning about the process of growing food and flowers from seed to harvest.

Jordan’s Way animal advocates to hold fundraiser for East Texas shelter

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - An East Texas animal shelter was selected to join a fundraiser organized by the non-profit Jordan’s Way on Wednesday. This national tour is dedicated to assisting animal shelters and rescues throughout the United States in raising funds for their furry friends.

Kristopher Rotonda founded Jordan’s Way in 2021 after his best friend, Jordan, died from cancer in 2018. Jordan was a shelter dog for three and a half years before Rotonda adopted her.

Rotonda began doing Facebook lives in his Florida hometown, which led to fundraising.

“The impact is really opening people’s eyes, I mean, about overpopulation, underfunding,” said Rotonda.

Jordan’s Way is helping 50 shelters and rescues across Texas over an eight-week period. The fundraiser selection process is based on nominations. Rotonda says they’ve selected rural areas to do the fundraiser.

“Just trying to pull some places that really don’t have it,” said Rotonda.

Kurth Memorial Animal Services is the only East Texas shelter to be selected to benefit from the fundraiser.

“He’s going to spend time with animals that have been here for a long time, show people the loving side of these animals, and possibly find them homes,” said Williams.

Funds will be raised through a Facebook Live, where they’ll complete different activities.

All donations go directly to the animal shelter.

“You’re going to see pies in the face, ice bucket challenges, buckets, and, of course, stuff that’s kind of aimed toward the animals, too,” said Rotonda.

Kurth Animal Shelter is at a total capacity rate of 97 to 98 percent. Animal Services manager Morgan Williams says they aim to raise $15,000 for the shelter.

“He has raised over $100,000 for some shelters, so obviously we’re hoping for a lot for these animals,” she said.

Williams said many animals in the shelter need medical help, so their main goal is to use the funds for medical assistance.

The live fundraiser will be Wednesday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Kurth Memorial Animal Services Facebook page.
