Speaking on the tour, Rippon said: “Having really challenged myself on the TV show over the last seven weeks, it’s going to be wonderful to continue the Strictly magic on the tour next year. The Strictly Come Dancing live tour suffered a blow when Annabel Croft, the former tennis pro, was nearly forced to miss a performance due to illness. The 57-year-old star was reportedly bedbound, causing last-minute changes to be made for their live show at the Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday, February 6.

A source told The Sun : "The celebs had a well-deserved day off yesterday but unfortunately Annabel was really unwell," and "She spent the whole day in bed in her hotel and only emerged this morning to get some water. It seems the day of rest has really helped her though and she will be ready to rumba later."

However, a representative for Annabel reassured the Mirror that she is "perfectly well" and hasn't missed any nights of the tour. Annabel has been unwell, just after TV star Angela Rippon had to stop working because she had a bad asthma attack.

Angela, who is 79 and the oldest person ever on the show , told her fans she had a "major medical meltdown" while performing in Liverpool. Angela shared a video saying: "Hello everyone, I'm afraid I've been off the grid for a couple of days because, as some of you may know, I suffered a major medical meltdown at the beginning of the week.

"When we were in Liverpool I managed to pick up an infection which went straight to my chest. It affected my breathing very badly and, as some of you may know, I do suffer from asthma."

"And on Wednesday evening, when I was about to go on and dance the Cha Cha Cha, I'm afraid the infection triggered a serious asthma attack and when I started to dance, I stopped breathing basically. Which was all a bit scary, not just for me, but for Kai as well because I was a bit like a rag doll on the dance floor sorry Liverpool

"And I think Kai wasn't really quite sure what was happening but, fortunately, we always had paramedics in the arenas when we perform and when I came off they gave me oxygen so I was able to breathe again, and also make the trip to Leeds."

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 to undergo huge change as BBC 'broadcast from royal location'

BBC dance competition Strictly Come Dancing will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and will reportedly mark the occasion by filming in a royal location

Strictly Come Dancing 2022 logo

  • 17:42, 8 Apr 2024

Strictly Come Dancing is set to go all out for its 20th anniversary celebrations this year.

The hit BBC dance competition first hit screens back in 2004 and has seen a whole host of celebrities partnered with professional dancers in the hopes of winning the Glitterball trophy. It is currently hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, after Bruce Forsyth co-presented the series until 2014.

Over the years, Strictly has been broadcast from the BBC Television Centre, Wembley Arena, Blackpool Tower and the current Elstree Studios. However, it appears the BBC are set to give Strictly a royal treatment for its 20th year. Rumours for this year's line up have already started and it has been reported the show will be screened live from the ballroom at Buckingham Palace .

Queen Camilla , who is a fan of the show, is also set to make an appearance, according to the Daily Mail. A source told the publication: "Camilla loves Strictly, so what a dream this is for her. It has been about getting the timing right and 2024 is the year. Strictly started in 2004 so it is two decades. There is huge excitement about this happening – it is going to be quite a night." The BBC have declined to comment when approached by The Mirror .

Camilla has showed her support to the BBC competition over the years and recently told professional dancer Johannes Radebe she is “one of Strictly's greatest fans”. During a charity event earlier this year, Johannes taught tap and the cha-cha-cha to a Royal Voluntary Service beginners class in Cambridge during Camilla's visit.

Johannes told Camilla: "I'm still beside myself that you watch Strictly Come Dancing ." She replied: "We watch it. I'm one of Strictly's greatest fans." Back in 2022, Camilla shared her love for the show while she paid a visit to the set of EastEnders. She chatted to 2021 winner Rose Ayling-Ellis – who bagged the Glitterball Trophy alongside pro dancer Giovanni Pernice.

Camilla said: “Rose, the Strictly star. I said we were all voting for Rose, I don't know how you did all those dances.” Actress Rose asked : “Can I ask you, does the Queen watch Strictly Come Dancing ?” Camilla confirmed that the late Monarch did tune in, saying: “I think she does. She probably watched you.”

The Queen was granted access to a rehearsal of the show back in 2011 and is known to have a friendship with judge Craig Revel Horwood, 57. A show source said: “The visit was top secret but Craig thought it would give the remaining contestants and the crew a real boost if Camilla came down to watch them in action. The Duchess is a big fan of the series and watches the show with Prince Charles so she was very knowledgeable when she was watching the run through.

“None of the contestants could believe it when she walked in, but it certainly made them concentrate even more in the rehearsals and a few of the dancers seemed a bit starstruck.” Craig previously told Hello! in 2016: "When it comes to my dream new judge – well, it's got to be my friend the Duchess of Cornwall. I've been desperate to get a royal on the show. Camilla could be just wonderful."

The Mirror has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

The Strictly Come Dancing bosses are already looking for who they want to appear and a big Hollywood name could be one of them

Hannah Waddingham is reportedly “in talks” with BBC bosses to join this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Sources claim that the Ted Lasso actress – who co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest last year and performed at this year’s BAFTAs – has been approached in recent weeks.

An insider told The Mirror that the star is seriously considering the offer and said: “Hannah would be an incredible signing for Strictly this year, and so far things are looking very positive.

“She loves the show – she has heard so much about it from Anton [Du Beke] – and is keen to do it. It’s just a question of whether or not it’s possible to fit it into her schedule.

“Obviously, it’s a very big commitment, and she is incredibly in demand at the moment. Hannah is fast approaching national treasure status, and the Strictly bosses know she’d be a smash hit with fans.

“So they are doing everything they can to make it work on their side, and hoping that they can encourage her to sign on the dotted line - it would be a real coup for them to get her on board.”

Hannah Waddingham starred as Rebecca Welton in Game of Thrones

Waddingham – who played Rebecca Welton in the HBO series – recently won an Emmy for the role and saw her rise to popularity.

Last year she presented the Olivier Awards, before teaming up with Graham Norton and Alesha Dixon to host Eurovision in May.

She went on to support friend Anton Du Beke at his London Palladium Show, An Evening with Anton Du Beke, and was a guest at his VIP after party.

She recently went to support Strictly professional Giovanni Pernice on his Let Me Entertain You tour and showed her support after his future on the show is in doubt.

Hannah's potential signing comes as Giovanni Pernice's future is in doubt

GB News has contacted the BBC for a comment.

Whilst BBC bosses are looking to see who they can bank for this year's show, behind the scenes, Pernice’s future is at risk.

Last year, his competition journey was cut short when Amanda Abbington pulled out of the competition, and shortly after revealed she had PTSD from their training sessions .

Soon after, it was claimed the Sherlock star demanded footage from her rehearsals with the Italian dancer – leaving more of his former celebrity partners to come forward.

Laura Whitmore, Ranvir Singh and Faye Tozer all discussed the impact of Pernice’s “strict” and “fiercely competitive” nature.

It was recently announced that the broadcaster is now “undecided” on whether or not to pair the dancer with one of this year's celebs.

The Sun claimed a source stated: “Giovanni has a meeting with Strictly on Thursday about his return later this year.

“They have not received any official complaints and are backing him. He is an accomplished pro dancer and it’s expected he will be taking his place in the formal line-up when it’s announced later this month.”

Strictly star makes shocking confession about sex life one year after wedding

Karen Hauer and Jamie Laing on Strictly Come Dancing

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Laing has made a shocking confession about his sex life after his marriage to wife Sophie Habboo.

Jamie, 35, tied the knot with his Made In Chelsea co-star , 30, last year.

However, the star – who compted on Strictly in 2020 with Karen Hauer – delivered a series of revelations about their sex life in a candid interview, likening it to joined-up handwriting – in that he ‘can’t be bothered’ with either.

‘Sophie did say I was bog standard at sex and that is probably a fair process. You get worse as you get married. You become lazy,’ he said.

He continued: ‘I used to start doing joined-up handwriting then I thought, ‘I can’t be bothered with that as it’s quicker for me to not do it joined up.

‘I’m a bit like that in the bedroom, I don’t give up half way but I do remember that once I rolled on top of Sophie and she said, “Oh, get on with it.”‘

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo

This isn’t to say that the reality TV star and Radio 1 presenter has given up on their relationship, even suggesting that they see a marriage counsellor twice a month.

‘I said to Sophie, ”Look, 40 or 50% of marriages end in divorce, I think it’ll be really good to do.” So we still go every other week and I think therapy brings self-awareness,’ he said, The Sun reported.

Jamie and Sophie met on the E4 reality show Made In Chelsea , realising their mutual attraction in 2019.

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo

Jamie explained that they started off as ‘best friends’, before feelings of attraction began to develop three years into their friendship.

He emphasised how much ‘respect’ they have about each other, despite the fact that they constantly take the mick in their playful relationship.

The pair were engaged in 2021, and got married in a low-key ceremony at Chelsea Registry Office in April last year, surrounded by friends and family.

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo

They then jetted off to Maribella, Spain in March to celebrate with a second, more lavish, wedding ceremony .

Jamie rose to fame after joining the E4 reality series during its second series in 2011. He went on to take part in episodes of Celebrity Hunted, The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off and Richard Osman’s House of Games.

He also owns his own confectionary brand in the gourmet vegan sweets Candy Kittens, which he founded in 2012.

Jamie Laing

In 2019, he joined the seventeenth series of Strictly Come Dancing – but was forced to withdraw two days before the launch show.

He returned the following year , where he was re-partnered with professional dancer Karen and finished as one of the competition’s runners up.

He joined BBC Radio 1 in March 2024 as host of the Drivetime Show with Katie Thistleton and Vick Hope.

He is also active on the podcast scene – hosting his show Private Parts with celebrity friends, and Newlyweds with Sophie.

Strictly Come Dancing will return on BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year.

Girls Aloud 2024 tour dates and how you can still get tickets

Following their appearance on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Live, Girls Aloud will be heading on tour next month - and there's still some tickets available

  • 18:30, 13 APR 2024

Girls Aloud will perform across the UK and Ireland in 2024

It’s not long until Girls Aloud kick off their eagerly-awaited tour and fans will get their first glimpse of what could be in store for The Girls Aloud Show this evening.

In what has been billed as a rare television appearance for the four-piece, the girl band are appearing on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway this evening (April 13) on ITV as part of the series finale ‘extravaganza’.

Their appearance comes just a little over a month before they kick off their 2024 tour - which will be their first tour in 11 years and their first since the untimely passing of member Sarah Harding, who passed away in 2021.

Announced earlier this year, Nadine, Cheryl, Nicola and Kimberley said The Girls Aloud Tour will be a ‘celebration’ to mark the 21st anniversary since they were voted the winners on ITV’s Popstars: The Rivals.

The huge 30-date arena tour will kick off at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on May 17 and will then head around the UK and Ireland before finishing up in Liverpool on June 30. In-between then, they'll be heading to the likes of Belfast, Cardiff, Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds and, of course, Manchester - where they will be performing three huge nights at the AO Arena ( tickets here ).

The Girls Aloud Show will be the girl band's first tour in 11 years and their first without member Sarah

Fans will be hoping the band’s biggest hits, including Sound of the Underground, The Promise and Call The Shots, will be amongst the tour’s setlist, alongside some lesser-known favourites and album tracks.

And if you still haven’t got yourself a ticket, then we’ve got you covered. Here’s all the details you’ll need if you want to secure some last-minute seats to The Girls Aloud Show 2024.

Are tickets still available?

A number of the dates were added following such a huge demand for tickets therefore some of the original dates are now sold out. But, you’ll be pleased to know, there are still some tickets available for a few of the dates.

Ticketmaster reports 'low availability' for the May 23 , May 24 and May 25 dates at the AO Arena, but there are still some resale tickets available for each night. In most cases, you will have to pay above the original ticket price if you want to buy resale tickets.

General tickets are still available to buy from Ticketmaster for the May 25 show, as well as VIP and hospitality packages .

A limited number of tickets are also available for the other dates too via Ticketmaster.

How much are tickets?

There are a series of ticket prices and they will all vary based on location and whether you are buying resale tickets, or directly from ticket providers.

At the time of writing, the lowest priced tickets for the May 25 show at Manchester’s AO Arena were available for £58.75 each on Ticketmaster before booking fees. There are also tickets priced at £71.75, whilst official platinum tickets will cost a lot more - with prices starting from £172.60. Resale tickets are also available at various price points.

Hospitality tickets start from £167.75 each before fees. The lowest price package included VIP entry, access to The Mezz for pre-drinks, panoramic views of the stage, cloakroom access and a dedicated host service. Higher VIP packages are also available.

The Night Manager renewed

EXCLUSIVE: One year ago we told you that a second season of John le Carré adaptation The Night Manager was quietly being developed under the codename Steelworks.

Now, Deadline can reveal that the BBC and new co-pro partner Amazon have gone big on a supercharged two-season order of the thriller, with Tom Hiddleston returning to lead, Hugh Laurie coming back as EP and with a new director in I Hate Suzie’s Georgi Banks-Davies . A third season has also been greenlit. David Farr is series creator and Stephen Garrett is leading the production.

Produced by The Ink Factory in association with Character 7, Demarest Films and 127 Wall, and in co-production with Spanish partner Nostromo Pictures, The Night Manager Season 2 was sold to Amazon by Fifth Season. The first was co-produced with AMC.

New director Banks-Davies, a BAFTA-winner who takes over from Susanne Bier, has credits including I Hate Suzie, Garfield and upcoming Netflix series Kaos.

The Night Manager Season 1 was a huge success, watched by millions and winning multiple BAFTAs, Emmys and Golden Globes including best actor for Hiddleston. Also starring Tom Hollander, Olivia Colman and Elizabeth Debicki, it followed Pine – who ran a luxury hotel in Cairo – as he attempted to infiltrate the inner circle of Roper’s crime syndicate after being hired by Foreign Office task force manager Angela Burr.

The first season was commissioned more than 10 years ago and the show has since been remade in India, lapping the UK version by swiftly having a Season 2 greenlit for Disney+ Hotstar in May last year.

They added: “Revisiting the story of Pine also means going beyond the events of John le Carré’s original work: that is a decision we have not taken lightly, but his compelling characters and the vision David has for their next chapter were irresistible.”

Amazon MGM Studios Head of Television Vernon Sanders said: “We are elated to bring additional seasons of The Night Manager to our Prime Video customers. The combination of terrific source material, the wonderful team at The Ink Factory, a great writer in David Farr, an award-winning director in Georgi Banks-Davies, as well as the talented cast truly make the series the full package.”

Hiddleston said: “The first series of The Night Manager was one of the most creatively fulfilling projects I have ever worked on. The depth, range and complexity of Jonathan Pine was, and remains, a thrilling prospect.”

BBC content boss Charlotte Moore added: “After years of fervent speculation I’m incredibly excited to confirm that The Night Manager is returning to the BBC for two more series.”

The Night Manager series two is created and executive produced by Farr, based on the characters created by le Carré. Additional executive producers include Garrett for Character 7, Banks-Davies, Laurie and Hiddleston; Joe Tsai and Arthur Wang for 127 Wall; Stephen and Simon Cornwell, Michele Wolkoff, and Tessa Inkelaar for The Ink Factory; Adrián Guerra for Nostromo Pictures; William D. Johnson for Demarest Films, Nick Cornwell, Susanne Bier, Chris Rice for Fifth Season and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC.
