Just great! Me and my friends enjoyed a lot, we had enough time in each venue without rush and the menu was nice. Wines and the appetizers as well. Berlin is a good showcase of Germans wines. I recommend.

The wine itself was amazing, but our guide made this experience even more special. He told us about each wine and as well some facts about wine culture and development in Germany. He also gave us some recommendation about vineyards lands ;)

When you want to learn all about wine, the best place to go is school. Berlin Wine School has different kinds of classes in the heart of the city run by actual wine scholars. This place is casual but professional and friendly so everyone feels at home. And it has won several awards over the years.

Founded in 1969, this world-renowned wine school has classes from one-day courses to full seven-day courses where you end up with a certificate from the Wine Scholar Guild . The basic one-day course introduces you to wine preparing, serving, storing, as well as food pairing.

You do not have to stop at wine tasting though. BWS also has workshops on sake and spirits. You will have to book your spot about a month in advance at least as there is limited seating. The reviews on this place are incredible and you will get your fill of wine tasting as well as teaching.

Planet Wein

Looking for a large selection of wines from all over the world in one place? Planet Wein is a beautiful wine shop featuring over 500 types of wine from local to international. There is a wine bar where you can enjoy wine tasting by the glass or you can purchase a bottle.

The most popular way to enjoy this small winery is to visit the vinotheque where they open every bottle for a small fee. Locals love this place because the wines change monthly and they also serve champagne and food. You get small dishes of food to eat along with your wines.

Are you a fan of rooftop bars and places with a nice view? The seating here is special too as you can enjoy the sunshine on the terrace that also shelters you from any unfriendly weather. The local wine expert of Berlin will also give you a history of each wine if you ask or you can try the Vinophiles Evening Program for a taste and history of the best food and wines available.

Spree Berlin Dinner Cruises

The only public park in Mitte, this 11-acre green space is surrounded by wine bars and enchanting eateries where you can enjoy Berlin wine with a stunning view of the city. First, in the middle of the park, Coccodrillo serves true Italian food with over 30 different wines from all over. Enjoy pizza, pasta, and drinks on a sunny terrace.

In the northwest corner, Bean is a more sophisticated establishment serving delectable steaks, veal, and other dishes with natural wines and champagnes made locally. Bar Milano just to the south serves refined bites, cocktails, and wines in a modern but vintage bar. You can even learn a bit about modern winemaking if you pay attention here.

Beavis Bar is a small space with unusual and unique drinks and wines to enjoy in the northern section of the park. Right next door, vegetarians will enjoy The Butterfly Lovers Asian food with saki and other natural wine. The park even has a beer garden on the east side that serves eight types of wine as well as beers, cocktails, and tapas.

The Weinerei

Right outside the park, the Weineriei boasts several wine establishments including the Forum Wine Bar, The Wine Shop where you can buy what you like by the bottle, and Edel & Faul Wine Events. The events range from a private wine tasting tour to food and wine festivals.

If you want an intimate wine tasting, choose Forum. This classic spot is casual and comfortable with a variety of wines and snacks. There is indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of room for everyone. No reservations are needed but get there early if you want a seat.

The event space at Edel & Faul is run by the Weinerei family including Jurgen Stumpf who hosts "wine flights." These are stories that take you through different times and spaces with various memories and wines to enjoy. You do have to register for those in advance.

Day One of Fun

Western Holmes County

Enjoy locally-made wines in a breathtaking historical setting. At what was once a turn-of-the-century flour mill, Baltic Mill Winery now offers a variety of sweet and dry wines that are meticulously created to please your palette.

At David Warther Carvings and Gifts , see how David Warther is continuing his family's carving legacy with intricately worked pieces featuring antique ivory, ebony wood and abalone pearl.This astounding collection includes miniature reproductions of sailing ships from ancient Egypt to modern times, and the gift shop offers seasonal wares, Warther knives, clothing and home decor.

Enjoy together time and the delicious berries. Moreland Fruit Farm  is a pick-your-own farm and market. Mouth-watering strawberries ripen the first of June, followed by blueberries and black raspberries. Blackberries and grapes become ripe in July and August. Finally, apples and pumpkins are available during the fall harvest months. The Farm even offers horse drawn wagon rides to the pumpkin fields, so come back with the kids!

You will find fun and flavor at Sunny Slope Winery . They create small batch handcrafted wines and also offer made-to-order sandwiches and snacks from their deli. Every Friday and Saturday features live music from 6-9 p m. with no cover charge.

Visit Doughty Glen’s  award-winning winery, located in Guggisberg Swiss Inn. Sample delicious wines while watching the horses graze the hillside. They offer live entertainment most Friday evenings April through October. Perfect quiet location, and you can relax together on their outdoor deck.

The Holmes County Open Air Art Museum  is a fusion of art and nature set in a gorgeous wooded landscape. Spread throughout the grounds of The Inn at Honey Run, the region's only open air art museum showcases original works from regional artists of various backgrounds, mediums and disciplines. Enjoy a stroll together taking in birdsongs and beauty. The Inn at Honey Run also offers luxurious accommodations, and even features in-ground honeycomb rooms.

Tarragon  at The Inn at Honey Run features contemporary American cuisine that showcases the freshest local, seasonal ingredients. For Saturdays:

$350.00 for two guests

Six-hour tour from 1:00pm to 7:00pm

Included- a hotel stay at the Berlin Grande Hotel, hot buffet meal breakfast provided by the Berlin Grande, guest pick-up/drop-off, visit up to five wineries and a wine tasting.

For Sundays-

$310.00 for two guests

Five-hour tour from 12:00pm to 5:00pm

Included- a hotel stay at the Berlin Grande Hotel, hot buffet meal breakfast provided by the Berline Grande, guest pick-up/drop-off, visit up to three wineries and a wine tasting.

Our Tours depart from multiple locations depending on your reservation. That’s right, we do pick-ups and drop offs. Whether you come to our location for your departure, or we pick you up from a local destination. We are here for you! Our tours run on the following days and times:

Saturdays- 2:00pm to 7:00pm 

We also offer four and five-hour tour packages for groups of four or more!

Please keep in mind that all of our tours are planned before your arrival, and we cannot change our routes once the destinations have been planned. We will do our best to accommodate our guests and try to keep our routes fresh and new. We will accomplish this by rotating our winery tours every few months! Once the winery is contacted for our tour and they are expecting us, we cannot change our planned route for that tour as they have planned for our arrival, while another hasn't.

Please note when booking online your deposit is included in your payment. In order to book your tour, a $25.00 deposit is required. If you are booking a tour with us and you would like to hold the date/time with a deposit only, please call our office. Our booking site only allows for customers to pay in full at the time of booking. A service fee will be applied to all pick ups/drop offs outside of Holmes County, OH

Basilicata shines at Berlin's ITB travel trade show

The Basilicata region presented its tourist attractions once again this year with a stand at Berlin's ITB travel trade show. Its tourist offering, so niche it has been described as 'punctiform', plays on nature and Italian passions and 'roots' - three elements beloved by German tourists, Marcella Di Feo of the region's Agency of territorial promotion (Apt) has told ANSA.     "Basilicata never misses Berlin's ITB" and is always present "at the Enit Italia pavilion with other regions", said Marcella Di Feo, who is responsible for international marketing at the Apt agency. "And, obviously, we expect to always maintain a well-structured and consolidated relationship with the tourist market" in Germany, she added, speaking from the Fair's pavilion 1, which is mainly occupied by Italy.     German tourists "always remain among the top 10 of our arrivals and visits" and are "the most complete", filling "all niches of demand" and "tourist offers that Basilicata can have", said Di Feo. In particular, Di Feo cited "green" tourism, which "is very much liked by the average German tourist". It was developed during the Covid pandemic crisis, although it "will be improved", explained the official, who was at the regional stand featuring the logo "Basilicata State of Mind".     Basilicata "can boast five natural parks" (including two national and three regional parks), she added.     "We have a series of offers, thanks to the network of private tour operators connected to open-air" and "active vacations" that are "well-liked by Germans", as presented at a press conference in Berlin by the Basilicata official, who was at the fair held on March 5-7.     Stressing that "we want 'guests', given that everybody else has 'tourists'", Di Feo went on to explain that the region is investing "on niche tourism" - rather than "mass tourism" - which she described as "punctiform" and "high quality". Such tourism can be defined "by passions", including sailing or other seaside activities, as well as literature, "fairy tales and magic", noted Di Feo, adding that "private professionals" create "special offers" for "passionate guests".     Moreover, she stressed, the region is aiming to attract visitors who are fascinated by the cultural roots of the territory: this "is the year of Italian roots in the world", and "we can boast that we are already prepared" to welcome back Italian emigrees or their children and descendants who often don't travel alone "but rather with tourist packages organized by tour operators".     Initiatives will also be presented at the Roots-IN 2024, the Roots Tourism International Exchange scheduled to take place on November 18-19 this year in Matera, concluded Di Feo.
