Oh, oh, oh, oh...

Nickelodeon’s favorite boy band, Big Time Rush, has officially reunited and is returning to the stage. Seven years after its final Live World Tour in 2014, the group announced two concert dates for 2021: Dec. 15 at the Chicago Theater in Chicago and Dec. 18 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

“WE ARE BACK!,” the band’s official account tweeted Monday. “It’s been a minute, but we couldn’t be more excited to see you! Lets make up for lost time.” The announcement was accompanied by a “where are they now”-style video with a dramatic voice-over.

Headstrong group leader Kendall is seen walking through the woods, while James, the hot one whose alter ego was “bandanna man,” is working under the hood of a car in a too-tight tank. Though the Type-A planner and aspiring doctor Logan is said to be finishing up a PhD, he’s really just playing Operation — and the goofball-turned-father Carlos is playing on the couch with his kids.

Created by Scott Fellows, teen heartthrobs Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Carlos PeñaVega and James Maslow starred in a sitcom named after the band. “Big Time Rush,” which ran from November 2009 to July 2013, featured four hockey players from Minnesota who find sudden fame after a local talent search.

After being whisked away to Los Angeles and embedding themselves at the Palm Woods — a hotel that is home to other aspiring teen entertainers — they must undertake the task of becoming the next big hit while also staying true to themselves.

Apart from their chart-topping hit “Boyfriend (feat. Snoop Dog),” Big Time Rush released three albums: debut “BTR” in 2010, sophomore album “Elevate” and “24/Seven.” Last week, fans suspected a reunion was pending as the singers’ profile pictures on social media and the official accounts were replaced by red dots.

The group briefly got back together in April 2020 to film a COVID-19 PSA, spreading love to fans. After fans sign up for ticket presales, which start Wednesday, they can catch up on all of the crew’s antics in four seasons of “Big Time Rush” on Netflix.

The abbreviated December 2021 reunion tour wasn’t enough.

Big Time Rush , who performed just four shows last year on their mini-comeback tour, have just announced a full-fledged, 41-concert Forever Tour.

On CBS’ “Good Morning America,” the grown-up boy band shared, “We’re officially back and going on tour” before proceeding to play their jaunty, new single, “Not Giving You Up” live.

In addition to the trek all over North America, Big Time Rush will be releasing new music for the first time in eight years after putting out the surprise track “Call It Like I See It” last year.

If you want to see Big Time Rush and their new tracks live, here’s everything you need to know.

It’s common for speculative tickets to show up on the secondary market first, but be aware that prices may be more expensive than when they go on sale to the general public.

Big Time Rush Is Back on Tour and We Can't Get Enough of the Nostalgia

Allison DeGrushe - Author

Jun. 7 2023, Updated 5:03 p.m. ET

After three albums and four seasons of their eponymous Nickelodeon series, Big Time Rush went on an indefinite hiatus in 2014. Thankfully, the wildly popular band reunited virtually in 2020, sharing wishes to their fans during the COVID-19 pandemic and uploading covers of hits songs "Worldwide" and "Beautiful Christmas."

In July 2021, the band announced they were officially back together! BTR soon released its first single in eight years and embarked on a much-anticipated reunion tour, the "Forever Tour." Stick around to learn more, including what our favorite BTR boys are up to these days!

Big Time Rush embarked on a reunion tour in 2022.

On Feb. 21, 2022, Big Time Rush announced on Good Morning America that they would hold a reunion tour throughout 2022. The band said, per Live Nation , "Not only are we excited to be sharing new music with you this week, but we've been holding onto this secret for over two years, and now it's official!"

"We are going back on tour! We can't thank you enough for all of your love and support over all these years, and we can’t wait to see you at the 'Forever Tour,'" BTR revealed. The beloved group kicked things off on June 23 in Oxon Hill, Md., and made stops at many iconic venues nationwide, including Madison Square Garden on June 30, 2022.

In March 2022, the band confirmed they would be traveling around the world on their reunion tour. BTR announced three shows in Mexico, which sold out in less than a day. The band finished the "Forever Tour" in early 2023, making stops in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil.

The reunion tour was a big-time success, earning rave reviews from critics and fans. One person said they'd been to over 1,000 concerts, and Big Time Rush officially won them over and became their favorite show of all time.

Another argued that despite the years-long hiatus, the BTR boys "still sang and danced very well and showed off their biggest strong suit: Crowd interaction. ... They were cracking jokes, asking questions, encouraging people to hold up their signs, and retaining a strong connection with the audience, even after almost a decade without performing."

BTR recently announced a brand new tour, the "Can't Get Enough Tour."

On Feb. 6, 2023, Big Time Rush appeared on the Today Show to exclusively premiere their new single, "Can't Get Enough," and announced the "Can't Get Enough Tour," set to begin in June 2023. Ahead of the summer tour, BTR released their first album in 10 years, "Another Life."

For those wondering, the "Can't Get Enough Tour" officially kicks off in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday, June 22 and concludes in Monterrey, Mexico, on Wednesday, August 23. You can still get tickets here , but hurry because they're going fast — we hope to see you there!

ABOUT BIG TIME RUSH:

Big Time Rush became an overnight sensation in November 2009 when the scripted TV show of the same name launched on Nickelodeon. The show focused on the Hollywood adventures of four hockey players from Minnesota after they were selected to form a boy band. The show became a huge success and later, Carlos, Kendall, James, and Logan came to life as a band off the screen releasing three full length albums and performing across the globe. As the show concluded in July 2013 and after four years of recording music and touring as a band, they went their separate ways but remained close friends through the years.     After 7 years, in an effort to bring joy to their fans during quarantine around the world, the members of Big Time Rush decided to appear together as a group to send a message of love and togetherness. This was soon followed by a socially distant performance of an acoustic version of their smash hit, “Worldwide”. These appearances resulted in hysteria amongst their fans and in the media, followed by BTR receiving 10+ million streams in 2020 alone. Four seasons of the TV show were added to Netflix in March 2021 and have appeared in the Netflix “Top 10” trending titles.     The band finished off 2021 with a performance at iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Philadelphia as well as 2 sold out shows in Chicago and NYC, capping it off with the release of their first single in 8 years, “Call It Like I See It”.

The power group kicked off 2022 stronger than ever with the launch of their wildly successful, sold-out  Forever Tour,  as well as all new music, including hit singles “Honey,” “Fall,” and “Not Giving You Up.” The  Forever Tour  sold over 300,000 tickets across North America with numerous sell outs including sold-out shows in Chicago, at New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden and on all dates on their Mexico Tour and will conclude in early 2023 in South America with shows in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile.

In addition to a massive sold-out tour, 2022 also included live performances at the Latin Kids Choice Awards, iHeart Music Festival, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the premiere of their first pay-per-view event,  The City Is Ours , a concert film capturing the band’s sold-out show at Madison Square Garden .

The top-selling hitmakers appeared on Good Morning America to make their highly anticipated tour announcement, including news that 3x Triller Billboard Chart Topper Dixie D’Amelio will join them on tour as a special guest. Forever Tour is Big Time Rush’s first official tour since reuniting and will bring the pop-culture icons to Madison Square Garden for their first ever headlining show at the famed building. Always most at home in NYC, the band promises an epic hometown show of sorts for the June 30th event.

After exclusively revealing their nationwide tour plans, the group then took to the GMA stage for the world premiere and debut performance of their upcoming single “Not Giving You Up.” The song is officially due out this Friday, February 25th and will be accompanied by a music video that sees the band jumping into a career as relationship specialists.

The news follows a whirlwind 2021 for the band, where all four original band members, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega, officially reunited for the release of their first new music in eight years with “ Call It Like I See It ”. The band debuted the song with a performance at iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Philadelphia, followed by Jingle Ball Atlanta, and then went on to play two special live shows in Chicago and NYC, which sold out in a matter of minutes, blowing expectations out of the water and showcasing the power of the band’s devoted fandom.

Big Time Rush spoke to Elite Daily in an exclusive interview about their ongoing 'Forever Tour.'

Big Time Rush Is Feeling The Rush Again

Now touring with Dixie D’Amelio, the group is happy with their place in pop.

Big Time Rush forgot about the screams that coincide with boy band mega-fame. “It was deafening. It was so loud,” Carlos PenaVega tells Elite Daily of the group’s first show back in eight years. “I didn't think it was going to [be like that].”

On June 23, Carlos, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, and Logan Henderson took the stage together for their first headlining show in nearly a decade at the MGM National Harbor outside of Washington, D.C.. It was their first of 41 shows part of the ongoing Forever Tour, which is an ironic title considering there was a moment where Big Time Rush was done.

The band formed and first rose to fame while starring on the Nickelodeon teen TV series Big Time Rush , which ran from 2009 to 2013. They released three albums in three years before taking an extended hiatus in 2014 to focus on their solo careers.

In 2021, they reunited to release “Call It Like I See It.” The group has since released four more songs, including “Honey” in June. The music video for the sticky-sweet new song dropped on July 18, and it’s an ode to the first half of their summer back on tour.

Nostalgia for the 2010s is high with fellow boy banders The Jonas Brothers and 5 Seconds of Summer regularly performing together again, while franchises like Twilight and The Hunger Games are trending once more. So it couldn’t be more fitting for Big Time Rush to return; however, their comeback is not your traditional boy band reunion tour.

Much like their tour name suggests, the band says they’re in it for the long haul and likely won’t stop performing after their tour wraps on Aug. 20 in Concord, California. Their goal is to eventually take the Forever Tour abroad. “We literally just plan on touring forever. We're not going to age, [and] we're not going to go away,” Carlos says, often speaking for the group. “We're [not] going to just do something and be done. It's very much a comeback tour.”

They’ve taken inspiration from New Kids On The Block, another band that spent decades releasing and performing new music. “Their performances, their setups, how they basically went back, took their brand and did it their way, that's been inspirational to us because we're doing a very similar thing,” Carlos says.

Despite the years-long break, the band says they quickly fell back into a groove on stage. Still, Logan says he felt jittery the first night of their tour. “The first three or four songs, I think it was like, ‘Oh crap, we have an audience,’” he says.

Some of those audience members likely attended a Big Time Rush show before. “We had some grown men with vintage, Big Time Rush T-shirts just jamming along, holding a beer,” Carlos says.

What was somewhat surprising to the band is they’ve garnered a new generation of fans, including Carlos’ three children, who were in attendance on opening night. “[It was] super special because they've never seen me do anything like that,” he says. “I have videos from somebody filming behind them, and they're just dancing along.” Though some of the younger fans might have also been there to see Big Time Rush’s supporting act: pop star and TikTok legend Dixie D’Amelio .

After running into Dixie several times on iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball tour last year, the band asked her if she’d be interested in opening for them on tour. To their surprise, she said yes. “She's doing something that's really different. I totally respect the fact that she's able to get out of her comfort zone and try something new and succeed doing it,” Carlos says, noting they’re “grateful” to have her on tour.

While some bands struggle with finding their footing after years away, Big Time Rush is embracing the hustle once again. “It's how are we better than what we were before? How do we keep on improving?” James says of their mentality this time around. “Ultimately, we're only in competition with ourselves.”

Part of their collective ethos is having priorities outside of the band. “It's not like this is our one and only focus and we're going to just always be together,” Carlos says. “We all go do stuff, we have families, and then we come together to make music.”

Based on those deafening screams from hype crowds, it seems Big Time Rush’s philosophy – and music — might just be working. “The fans all know the lyrics,” Carlos says. “Some of them even better than we do.” What more could the band want?

Big Time Rush Wants More Than Just Your ‘Weekends’ on Glowing New Song

By Brittany Spanos

Big Time Rush are ready to cap off a big year with even more new music. The boy band, who reunited in 2021 after a seven-year hiatus, are dropping a deluxe edition of their new album Another Life on November 10th. To roll out the new edition, the group is giving fans “Weekends,” a smooth new track and one of five songs on the project.

On the track, the quartet lament how a lover only calls them on the weekends. They want more from this situationship but the object of their affection is a ghost the rest of the week. In the video, directed by Michael B. Chait, the band is seen performing together onstage. Between scenes, they’re shown in a club chasing after the mystery girl who slithers away from them every time they catch a glance of her.
