How to find the Horizon Tour Mural in Forza Horizon 5

The country of Mexico is filled with different murals in Forza Horizon 5. Many of these murals need to be found in order to complete various Accolades and Playlist challenges. One such mural is the Horizon Tour Mural, and this one might be a little tricky thanks to its location. So, how can you find the Horizon Tour Mural in Forza Horizon 5? Let’s take a look.

To find the Horizon Tour Mural, head to the Horizon Festival home site in Mexico. Here’s a look at where it can be found on the map:

After you have done that, head south from the garage site until you reach an intersection. Then, drive west until you have found the Horizon Mexico Hall of Fame site. This is a space of land that is near the Horizon Pulse DJ setup, on the side.

If you drive up to the Hall of Fame site, make sure to look down. Here, you will find a padded, black space. But right on that padding is the Horizon Festival logo and an image that depicts the Horizon Tour Mural.

If you need to take a photo here, make sure to use RT to zoom out, and then use the left and right sticks. This will allow for getting the whole mural in the frame, enabling you to get the whole mural in the shot.

With only two weeks to go until early access for Premium Edition owners, we’re counting down the days to Forza Horizon 5! We’re so excited for players to get their hands on the game, however, before that day arrives, we’ve got our final Road to Mexico post before the launch.

In October, we hosted two Let's ¡Go! livestreams, shared our achievements list and celebrated Forza Horizon 5 going gold. With the game now being printed onto discs, it was only fitting that we also revealed the soundtrack that will accompany your driving adventures .

On the first Let's ¡Go! of the month, we were joined by Creative Director Mike Brown, Game Designer Kelly Boyle and Character Artist Pav Plaha to explore the many ways you can express yourself in Forza Horizon 5.

Customization has been a big topic on the past few livestreams. We’ve improved and evolved how players can customize their cars and even their own Horizon Adventure path. Naturally, we also expanded our character customization options with more to choose from than ever before. Customize who you are, or who you want to be, how you look and sound, and have fun selecting clothing, accessories, emotes, and more.

Horizon Stories invites players to interact with characters and locations in the world by completing a variety of racing and driving objectives. They also now offer choices that create unique paths with different Accolades and new rewards. Players can replay any chapter to explore options they didn’t pick during their first time.

Horizon Stories are expressions of family and connection, which are really at the heart of Mexico. In Vocho – a Barn Find story, you’ll restore a great grandfather’s Vocho, the Mexican word for a Beetle.

We also previewed Festival Playlist and some of its rewards. From Nov. 5, we’ll have an introductory week in Spring that encourages you to explore Forza Horizon 5 at your own pace. Then on Nov. 11, Series 1 begins with a host of new content to discover – including the 1982 DeLorean DMC-12.

Every month will bring evolving world changes. Series 1 welcomes you to the Horizon Festival, while Series 2 celebrates the holidays – so look out for snowmen and presents in December.

To close the show and while driving the DeLorean DMC-12 in Forza Horizon 5, we asked Mike, Kelly and Pav some of the questions you’ve sent our way.

Q: How many Barn Finds will there be?

We aren’t ready to confirm the full amount of Barn Finds yet, but there’s more than 10!

Q: Being a massive fan of the Route Creator in FH4 and I’m completely excited for EventLab, I was wondering if there’s a connection between the two?

Route Creator is now augmented with all the prop placement and route building functionality that was originally introduced by the Horizon Super7 in Forza Horizon 4. It falls within the larger umbrella of the EventLab toolset which allows you to customize the rules and gameplay of specific events.

Q: What’s the process like for creating clothing items in a Horizon game?

We use a program called Marvelous Designer which lets us make clothes like how we do in real life. So, we cut out 2D patterns of clothing and then this program will stitch them together and simulate the folds. It's like a different way of thinking to just sculpting the folds ourselves.

Q: Will the Car Collection feature be integrated into Autoshow or are they two separate features?

They are related features. I think it's more the other way, the Autoshow exists as it is but if you're in the Car Collection there is an option to quick buy any car so you can add them to your garage and complete those little corners of your collection.

Q: Do Horizon Stories feature any returning characters?

Yes. V10 has Mike Steel and Frankie Beaumont. Born Fast sees Jamin return.

Q: Are there any new activities in Festival Playlist or exciting ones that have changed?

We've got loads of content to do – all the new features are in there, all your favorites are returning but the biggest change is going to be evolving world like seeing the world change every series, seeing new things appear in races and new collectibles around the world.

As people create awesome things in EventLab, we can surface them on Festival Playlist so that your awesome creations then appear for everybody else. We’ll find those really brilliant things people have created and choose to put them in front of everybody as a little jewel in the Festival Playlist.

Q: Has the smoke from drifting improved?

We actually have an entirely new VFX system in this game, so the smoke is now high resolution, it's more voluminous and it also interacts with tire temperature more than it ever did before. If you're playing in summer, it’s hot weather – your tires are nice and hot – and you throw it into a big drift, you'll kick up loads of smoke. If you're playing in winter or you're in the snow, the tires are cold and they can't heat up, so you’ll produce much less smoke. There's a real dynamism to it.

Q: How does the player having a voice affect the overall experience?

The purpose for it is to allow you to interact with other characters in a more realistic way. We saw it in the Tulum Expedition when the player asks some questions of Ramiro: he responds naturally, like he's your friend and not overbearing or just shouting down the microphone at you. It allows everybody else, all the other characters that you meet in the game, to be that much more authentic.

In the October Forza Monthly, we spoke to cultural consultant Lalo Alcaraz. His guidance helped us bring Mexico to life and celebrate its culture through collaborations with local artists, voice actors and locally inspired storylines. Check out the VOD for the interview as well as gameplay of Vocho, the aforementioned Barn Find story rooted deep in Mexican culture and heritage.

Meanwhile, our second Let's ¡Go! featured the music of Horizon Mexico and we saw some exclusive Xbox Series S consoles adorned in mural art. To lead the discussion, Mike was joined by Lead Audio Designer Fraser Strachan and Game Designer Dave Orton.

The team set out to create the biggest music festival of 2021 and worked to source songs that tie into our gameplay experiences and evoke emotions. For instance, what do you want to hear while smashing through piñatas?

Our audio team researched the history of Mexican music and how it influenced the rest of the world. It has an instantly recognizable sound that we want to make sure is represented in Forza Horizon 5. Also, when you turn on a radio in Mexico, each genre has its own station, with a combination of local Mexican music and global songs. It was clear that an authentic approach was to curate an eclectic selection of both regional tracks and global hits. By featuring Mexican artists across all stations, you can tune into the channels you love listening to most and enjoy a completely authentic experience while you play.

Also, our friends at Hospital Records are debuting their latest drum and bass tracks in the game which will be featured on an upcoming vinyl release. With YouTube and Twitch being such integral aspects of gaming today, we’ve worked with Hospital Records and combined their tracks with our own original compositions to create Streamer Mode. It’s a seamless experience for content creators and it ensures the Forza Horizon DNA remains intact in the gameplay videos you watch online.

To demonstrate Streamer Mode, we played a dust storm race on the Bahía De Plano Circuit behind the wheel of the 2020 Lotus Evija – using EventLab to customize the weather conditions and season. You can even host a dust storm race in the jungle! It might look strange, but we allow it.

Lastly, we also played the Buggy and the Beast Showcase Event. You’re driving the 2017 Ford #25 'Brocky' Ultra4 Bronco RTR against the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Bone Shaker. With the Horizon Cargo Plane circling above and another Monster Truck joining the fun, this Showcase is both chaotic and full of surprising twists as you race to the Horizon Stadium! As Mike noted on-stream, once you arrive, there’s nothing of interest that happens after that... we promise.

Where is Horizon Mexico Circuit?

The Photo Challenge for Forza Horizon 5's American Automotive Winter Playlist is #TrackToy. This week, players are tasked with snapping the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR at the Horizon Circuit.

Unlike most track Photo Challenges, however, #TrackToy doesn't need you to be in a race. Simply head to the Horizon Mexico Circuit in Freeroam, grab your camera, and snap away!

You can find the Horizon Mexico Circuit in the northeast corner of the Horizon Mexico Festival in Baja California.

Forza Horizon 5 American Automotive Winter

We're into Winter for November's Forza Horizon 5 American Automotive Winter Playlist and the reward cars just keep on coming.

This week's Season Progress reward cars are the Lucid Air Sapphire (20 points) and the 1969 Pontiac GTO (40 points).

Along with those two, the 2008 Dodge Viper, Ford Mustang S5, 1973 Ford Escort, and the Ford SD F-450 pickup truck are available to win through the Trial and Seasonal Championships.

Four Super Wheelspins are also up for grabs, along with the "I'm A Games Master" ForzaLink in the Seasonal Playground Games.

Forza Horizon 5 is stuffed full of online activity to take part in during its winter season, however there are few that are more fun than the Horizon Tour. But what exactly is the Horizon Tour, what kind of race type, and what do you get for taking part? Here's everything you need to know about the Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour, including how to access it, what it is, and rewards.

Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour: What Is The Horizon Tour?

The Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour is one of the many activities that you can race through as part of the seasonal event. Forza Horizon 5 is currently in its winter season, offering up the ID Zerouno '18 and Subaru 22B vehicles, which you can only unlock by earning points. The Horizon Tour is one of those many ways to earn points. 

The Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour itself is a three-race co-op event where players will face off in two teams of six, split between the red and blue team. The goal is to have the majority of your team place in the top six to earn points, and as such, you don't want to be running your team off the road just for you to get first place. The race takes place on dirt tracks and will use C-Class vehicles. Once any given race is over you will then drive collectively to the next race, and so on.

Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour: How To Access The Horizon Tour

The Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour can easily be found in the Festival playlist. Just hit the pause button and find the playlist on the left of the world map. Once in there, you will be treated to the current reward cars, along with weekly and daily challenges. Scroll through to the right until you come across the various activities. On the bottom right, you should see the Horizon Tour Co-Op Championship. By clicking on it, you will be put into a waiting lobby, before eventually joining the Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour. Since this is a part of the winter season, you will only have until December 4 to take part in it.

Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour: Rewards

Of course, the ultimate reward for the Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Tour is to gain enough points to earn the latest legendary cars. For that, the Horizon Tour will grant you three Forza Points. For context, you will need 22 and 42 points to earn either of the reward cars. Additionally, from taking part in the event you will earn your usual rung of XP and skill points, which obviously increase depending on your position in the race. If this is your first Horizon Tour race, you will also earn the Tourist Attraction achievement.

Where to find Spaik’s Mural in Guanajuato – Forza Horizon 5

As the Autumn Season begins in Forza Horizon 5 , you can expect more challenges that will scratch your racing itch. These are limited-time events that are scattered throughout the map. They can be fun to do, but are also demanding as you need to search far and wide for these murals. On the other hand, the upside of looking for murals is that you may end up in spots you haven’t found yet. So it can be a good idea to spend time looking around. The first one called Spaik’s Mural is pretty elusive. So, where to find Spaik’s Mural in Guanajuato Forza Horizon 5 ? This guide will help find the location and detail the requirements to complete the challenge.

How to find Spaik’s Mural in Guanajuato in Forza Horizon 5

For starters, you’ll want to set a waypoint to Guanajuato. This won’t be that hard to find since it’s one of the bigger cities in Forza Horizon 5. But if you still can’t find it, simply turn off the filters for a better view. Now, this is a general area where Spaik’s Mural can be, but the tricky part is pinpointing the exact location. Once you’re in Guanajuato, head south . To help get your bearings, bring up the map and you should see part of a freeway system located at the southern tip.

Head to that location. If you follow correctly, you should see a train station and a racing event near the painting. The mural is located right next to an underpass, so it shouldn’t be that hard to miss at that point.

Finding the mural is one thing, but completing the challenge is another. While you can take any car to the location, you have to use any Hoonigan-branded vehicle you own. These can be easy to come by since one of the first cars you win is a Hoonigan. Head into the expansive photo mode and take your shot.

Forza Horizon 5 Map - Mexico

Forza Horizon 5 Map . An interactive map of a fictional part of Mexico that is the open world setting of Forza Horizon 5 . It shows the locations of collectibles and various activities such as Fast Travel Boards, XP Boards, Barn Finds, Landmarks, Expeditions, Player Houses, Trailblazers, Danger Signs, Speed Zones, Speed Traps, Drift Zones and more.

The map below shows Mexico in the springtime. In other seasons the map looks slightly different, for example the water level in some reservoirs changes, but the road layout, location of events, etc. is the same.

How to fast travel anywhere in Forza Horizon 5?

If you want to unlock the ability to fast travel to any road on the map, you need to purchase the Buenas Vistas house. It costs 2,000,000 CR. To reduce the cost of such a travel, collect the Fast Travel Boards . When you collect all 50, you will be able to travel for free.

Points of interest

Below you will find some information about the points of interest located on " Mexico " map.

The Barn Finds are hidden garages containing wrecked iconic cars that you can restore in your garage.

Player Houses

Player Houses are properties that you can buy as long as you have enough CR. They can be used as fast travel destinations, and most of them also unlock additional perks.

Festival Sites

Festival Sites . In order to unlock some of them you need to complete corresponding Expeditions .

Expeditions

Expeditions are special events that, when completed, will unlock new festival outposts.

Expedition Objectives

Optional objectives which can be completed while playing certain expeditions and thus receive extra Accolades for them.

Speed Traps

Speed Traps are places on the road where your current speed will be measured. The speed measurement takes place when you drive in any direction through a gate located at that location.

Danger Signs

Danger Signs in Forza Horizon 5 are special challenges in which you have to make a jump from a special ramp and fly as far as possible in the air.

Speed Zones

Speed Zones are road sections where your average speed over the entire distance will be measured. Speed recording starts when you drive in the right direction through one of the two gates located on both sides of the designated road section.

Trailblazers

Trailblazers in Forza Horizon 5 are special challenges in which you must drive from the starting gate to the end gate in the shortest possible time.

Trailblazer (Finish Lines)

The locations of the finish gates / lines of each Trailblazer.

Drift Zones

Drift Zones are sections of road where your drifting skills will be rated. The evaluation starts when you drive onto the defined section of the road from either side.

Fast Travel Boards

Fast Travel Boards are road signs located throughout the Forza Horizon 5 map which you can find and destroy. There are 50 of them. After destroying a fast travel board, the CR cost to use Fast Travel option will be reduced.

XP Boards (5K)

XP Boards are a type of collectibles with which you can gather some XP. Here are the boards that will grant you 5,000 XP.

A series of Cross Country Racing Events . The first two races will be unlocked at the beginning of the game. To unlock other cross country racing events, you must complete the Baja Expedition and thus unlock the Horizon Baja Outpost .

Street Racing Events

A series of Street Racing Events . To unlock street racing events, you must complete the Guanajuato Expedition and thus unlock the Horizon Street Scene Outpost .

Drag Racing Events

A series of Drag Racing Events .

Showcases are special races where you face off against unusual opponents. In each of these events you will drive a specific vehicle that will be provided to you.

Forza Horizon 5 Stories are special missions that tell some unique narratives, combining different types of gameplay that are available in the game.

Playgrounds

Playgrounds are specially prepared arenas where two teams of players (or solo) face each other in various competitions.

Playground Games revealed Forza Horizon 5 ’s opening sequence of cinematics and gameplay Tuesday afternoon at Xbox’s Gamescom 2021 showcase, highlighting the varied terrain, weather, and biomes players will encounter on the racing game’s wide-open map of Mexico when it launches in November.

“I think our campaign learns a lot from Horizon 4 ’s campaign,” Mike Brown, Forza Horizon 5 ’s creative director, told media in a briefing event last week. The sequence shown at Gamescom bridges the ending of Forza Horizon 4 with the beginning of the latest racing festival. “There are all of these things that you can work towards, but in a way that feels more structured and more directed than it did in Horizon 4 , but while maintaining freedom to progress through the game in a ton of different ways.”

In the presentation, the customary drive-in to the Horizon Festival that has begun each game in the series, a cargo jet drops four cars into a sampling of Forza Horizon 5 ’s 11 different biomes . The sequence starts with a 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands ascending a stratovolcano — Brown said it’s “just about the highest point we’ve ever had in a Horizon game” — and culminates in the $2.7 million Mercedes-AMG One hypercar racing the plane to the festival finish line.

In between, Chevrolet’s 490-horsepower 2020 Corvette Stingray takes the baton from the Bronco at the bottom of the volcano and proceeds to plow some Mexican farmland. That’s followed by Porsche’s rallying show pony, the 911 Desert Flyer, plunging into the dense Yucatan jungle and giving the Mayan ruins of Ek’ Balam a drive-by. It’s one of several indigenous temple sites that Playground Games have recreated for players to explore, Brown said.

“Having that many biomes creates challenges for us, for when those biomes meet each other,” Brown said. “And one biome has to blend into the environment in a way that doesn’t feel like you’ve crossed an invisible line, and suddenly you’re in a completely different place. Instead, the barriers are blurred, so that it feels natural.” Vegetation and ground covering helped Playground Games achieve this blending, Brown said, particularly in transiting from locations like Mexico’s rocky Pacific coast to a “living desert” still abundant with cacti and other adapted plant life.

Seasons, and seasonal weather, will also return to Forza Horizon 5 , following the feature’s debut in 2018’s Forza Horizon 4 . “Seasons will work a little bit differently in Mexico to how they worked in Britain,” Brown said. They will still change weekly, and players can see the effect in things like riverbeds drying out (providing new courses or shortcuts) and then filling up. Mexico will still have snow, Brown said, but it’ll be limited to the map’s highest altitudes, like the aforementioned volcano. Spontaneous weather events will include dust storms, also seen in Tuesday’s video, which left the Stingray covered by a fine layer of red grime.

There’s plenty to do, not just see, in Forza Horizon 5 , Brown promised. The Eliminator, the 72-car battle royale race from Forza Horizon 4 , will return with some adjustments. “I think the main difference is in the map,” Brown said. “We released Eliminator around about a year after Forza Horizon 4 came out. This time, Eliminator already exists as we’re putting the world together. So the world is now, I think, much better suited to Eliminator.”

There is also the Events Lab, shown during E3 2021 , which allows players to create their own courses and races. While the stadium location seen during the E3 demo is “a great place to build, because it gives you something of a blank canvas,” Brown said, players will be able to use Event Labs’ building tools wherever they want, for the most part. Some areas of the world will be inaccessible to keep player-created events from running over pedestrians, for example.

The building will be supported by “a really in-depth rule editor,” Brown said. “I would stop short of calling it a scripting language, but it’s based on some of the design tools that we use to make the different features of the game.” The if/then nature of the rule editor allows, for example, things as granular as playing certain sound effects or adding score multipliers to overtakes or jumps within a race.

Brown said that the fact Horizon 5 got a three-year development cycle, instead of two, meant Playground Games could make a bigger investment in the game’s physics and handling models. “We’ve completely rebuilt the way the suspension works,” he said. “You might think, as I say this, an improved simulation would make it more challenging, but it’s actually the opposite. The springs of the car now behave much more like they would on a real car, and react to the terrain in a much more authentic way. Improving the simulation also improves the accessibility, which is a great result for us.”

Beyond the cars shown in the Gamescom presentation, Playground Games isn’t yet talking about the size of Forza Horizon 5 ’s fleet or what, specifically, it will comprise. But, “There is literally nothing to stop you from driving a hypercar around the jungle,” Brown said. They’ll just handle a lot more poorly than, say, the Bronco. Brown said Forza Horizon 5 has multiple types of mud for players to sling around — like thick, gloppy chocolate cake frosting that leaves deep tread marks, and sloppy slurry that splatters the windshield and hood.

Forza Horizon 5 launches Nov. 9 for Windows PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The game also launches the same day on Xbox Game Pass for both consoles and PC.
