    Museum hours Wednesday - Sunday, 10 AM - 5 PM. The National Steinbeck Center is located in John Steinbeck's hometown of Salinas, California, a scenic 17-mile drive from Monterey into the heart of Steinbeck Country. The Center offers three distinct visitor experiences: literature and history, agriculture and art, as well special events and educational programs.

    The public is invited to visit the Steinbeck House by making a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. Visits are free, but reservations are required! Each person needs their own reservation. If you do not have a reservation, you will not be able to visit the Steinbeck House. All visits are approximately one hour in length.
