Kelsea Ballerini is returning to Knoxville for special homecoming show

Kelsea Ballerini is coming home ‒ for a special one night only concert in Knoxville, Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena.

It's Ballerini's first headlining arena show, organizers say. In promotional images for “The Homecoming Show,” she's got a Vols jacket casually slung over one shoulder.

The country star and Knoxville native, 30, will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 2. Tickets for Kelsea’s fan club go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 13. Tickets for the general public go on sale through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Sept. 15.

Ballerini shared a promotional video on Instagram Tuesday to the tune of her song "Half of My Hometown," featuring fellow Knoxville native Kenny Chesney. In the video, she and her dog Dibs hopped in a truck as they were both decked out in Tennessee memorabilia and explored Knoxville's hotspots before ending at Thompson-Boling Arena.

"Throughout the last decade and four albums, there has been a consistent ode to my hometown. whether it be lyrically like in ‘half of my hometown’ or celebrating milestone moments in venues like my high school, the tennessee theater, or the civic center, it’s always been incredibly important to me to go back to the place that let me go to chase my dream," the country artist captioned the video.

She added: "Playing thompson-boling has been on my bucket list since i was a little kid watching my favorite musicians come through town and is the perfect place to celebrate such a bookmark year and kick off a new level of touring. see you november 2, Knoxville,"

'Blindsided': Kelsea Ballerini performs her Morgan Evans divorce song with new lyric on 'SNL'

She has embraced her East Tennessee roots throughout her career, filming her "Half of My Hometown" video there in 2021 and visiting with her Central High School teachers earlier this year.

Ballerini will likely be performing songs from her re-released EP " Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good) " in August, which delves into her life after the finalization of her 2022 divorce from Australian country singer Morgan Evans .

Up next, Ballerini is scheduled to perform tonight at the MTV Video Music Awards . The awards show also coincides with her 30th birthday.

The country star welcomed several female collaborators for the project, including Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, a co-writer on the album’s title “Subject to Change” and the tour’s namesake, “Heartfirst.” Alysa Vanderheym is also a co-producer on the project, and wrote “Heartfirst” with Fairchild and Ballerini. She also collaborated with Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson on the song “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”

“It’s interesting because in the conversation of, ‘Yes, we need more women in country music,’ what does that actually look like?” Ballerini previously told Billboard . “We need more female artists and collaborators but we also need more female opportunities throughout the whole chain of events, you know? I intentionally wanted to write with more women this time. For me, when you are making a record about emotions, when you connect with a woman creatively, you’re gonna be able to tap into that in a whole different way.”

The new set of tour dates will wrap up at Stage AE on Saturday, 18th of March 2023. In support of her newest album, Subject to Change, Ballerini is set to serve alluring performances of her biggest hits and share her new material live on stage. The Grammy-nominated "Heartfirst" singer is set to conquer the stage as she explores changes in life. What won't change is how she definitely puts her 'heart first in everything. Breaking through the mainstream scene strong with her RIAA Certified-Platinum debut single "Love Me Like You Mean It" in 2014, Kelsea Ballerini quickly became a global favorite in the country-pop genre. The woman served a slew of hit singles, four studio albums, and various awards and recognition including five Grammy nominations.

From church and school choirs, and writing her first song at 12, Ballerini became a global sensation for her heartfelt hits such as "Dibs", "Peter Pan", "Miss Me More", "Hole in the Bottle", "Legends", and "Heartfirst".

At the time of her debut album release, Kelsea Ballerini found herself in the spotlight as every single off of "The First Time" found itself charting at the top of the Country Airplay charts. She was the first solo female artist in the country genre to score a #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with a debut single since Carrie Underwood did with "Jesus Take the Wheel". She's also the fifth solo female country music artist to have back-to-back #1 hits through her second single "Dibs". The album's third single "Peter Pan" also hit #1 on the same chart.

With a successful debut, Ballerini amassed a large following for her country-pop anthems. Now on her fourth studio record, Ballerini took to heart life lessons she faced along the way. As a follow-up to her RIAA Certified-Gold record "Kelsea" in 2020, her new album "Subject to Change" explores forces that led to change and shape her life.

"In my younger years, the idea of change scared me. It had proven to be a faceless force that patterned my past with uncertainty," she shared on Instagram, announcing her new album.

Rather than fighting or going against forces that drive her to change, she now finds "blissful acceptance in the cracks I once cursed but now let the light in, to grow taller within myself."

"Subject to Change" features her new singles "Heartfirst" and "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)". Having explored her journey into the spotlight of country-pop anthems, Ballerini took to heart what changed, and took her time to get inspiration from the music she grew up listening to. "Instead of listening to new releases, I listened to the music I grew up on, and that’s the influence for this record," she shared. "Really organic-sounding records."

Beyond her new music, Ballerini also previously released her first poetry book "Feel Your Way Through". It featured vulnerable tales of struggles and healing. "I credit a lot of the openness and the more poetic side of the songwriting to the book," she shared.

Jonas Brothers Plot ‘Remember This’ Summer Tour

The Jonas Brothers will embark on a U.S. tour this summer.

The 44-date Remember This trek is set to launch August 20th at the Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, and wrap October 27th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Country star Kelsea Ballerini will serve as support throughout most of the tour.

“We couldn’t be more excited to officially announce we are going on tour this summer and bringing our friend Kelsea Ballerini!” the Jonas Brothers said in a statement. “If this past year has taught us anything it’s that we need to remember the important moments in our lives. We hope these shows will be special moments for our fans, our friends, and our families and we can’t wait to see all their faces soon!”

Tickets for all shows will go on sale Thursday, May 27th, at 10 a.m. local time via the Jonas Brothers’ website and on VividSeats . Citi card members will have access to presale tickets from May 24th at 10 a.m. local time through May 26th at 10 p.m. local time.

The Remember This tour gets its name from the Jonas Brothers’ upcoming single, which will be used as part of NBC’s promotional campaign for the Tokyo Olympics this summer. The song will premiere on June 18th, the first night of the U.S. Track and Field Trials.

The Jonas Brothers released their most recent album, Happiness Begins , in 2019, marking their first record in a decade.

Kelsea Ballerini to host 2024 CMT Music Awards

For the fourth consecutive year, kelsea ballerini will host the cmt music awards on apr. 7, 2024, emanating live from austin, texas' moody center..

Kelsea Ballerini, assuming the reins as host of the CMT Music Awards, is the latest-evolving trend in country music's mainstream industry.

It's also one that will continue for its fourth consecutive year at CMT's 2024 awards program on April 7, emanating live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. The event airs live on CBS and is available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

"I couldn't be more excited to be back for my fourth year with my CMT family to host this year's CMT Music awards in Austin. Hosting an awards show that celebrates the music that the fans love most has been an honor and I know this year will be another unforgettable night," offered Ballerini in a press statement.

Ballerini will also perform live during the festivities.

Ballerini helmed the 2021 and 2023 CMT Music Awards program alongside Kane Brown. In 2022, she performed the duties remotely.

Country music sweetheart Kelsea Ballerini may spend much of her time on the road promoting her debut album, The First Time , but in her downtime she’s kicking her feet up at her Nashville townhouse. “It’s the perfect in-between from a downtown apartment and a house-house,” the 23-year-old ‘Dibs’ singer tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue, on newsstands Friday. After entrusting her previous rental to online interior design service Laurel & Wolf , she says, “It just made sense to team back up with them” on the new, larger space, which she envisioned having a “Southern but sophisticated” feel. The result? “I got to come home to my dream home," she says.

Although the plush sofa looks right at home now, Laurel & Wolf designer Kimberly Winthrop says getting the furniture inside the singer’s new townhouse was no easy feat. “In the end, of course, it worked out, but it was truly nervewracking as each piece went up and down the stairs,” Winthrop tells PEOPLE.

Starter Kitchen

“The guitar art on display above the kitchen is one of my favorite things in Kelsea's home!” Winthrop says of the graphic display. Ballerini, however, was more concerned with the functionality of the fresh, white space. “It’s finally a place that’s big enough to have people over and cook meals,” she says. “I’ve never cooked as much as I have lately and I’m stoked on it; I love it.”

Neutral Gathering Space

“I’ve already had several friends over for dinner and I feel like it’s a really good hosting house,” Ballerini says. The calm color scheme was a must for the singer, who is nominated for the Best New Artist award at the CMAs on November 2. “My whole tour and branding as an artist is all super bright,” she says. “So I think when I come home I like it to be completely the opposite.”

Soothing Scene

A serene bedroom was a must for the busy Ballerini. “It was most important for her to have the master bedroom be a relaxing oasis, someplace where she could completely unwind,” Winthrop says. "We incorporated blue and neutral tones, which reminds Kelsea of her vacations to the beach.”

Dream Dressing Room

Ballerini’s gorgeous “girl cave” closet is every fashion lover’s dream, with plenty of pink, “super bright and girly” wallpaper and, of course, lots of clothes. One piece that’s particularly meaningful to Ballerini is a glittery dress she proudly displays on a mannequin. “Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum is like my big sister. I was over at her house and we were going through her closet and playing dress up in, like, her Grammy dresses, and she ended up giving me that dress,” Ballerini says. “It’s one of my most special hand-me-downs.”

Girls' Night Glam Spot

The closet has already served as a squad hangout — “I had some girls over the other night and we walked into the house, got a glass of wine, and just sat on the floor of my closet,” A desk in the back also makes a sweet area for the singer to work. “The last few days I ended up putting my laptop there and made it my desk, too, because it’s just a fun creative space,” she says.

Musical Memorabilia

A dedicated music room is “definitely the most creative feeling room of the house,” for Ballerini. The painted guitar hung in the middle of an arrangement above her couch was the singer’s first. “I got it when I was 13, and my mom was like, ‘I’ll help you buy it if you save up half,’” Ballerini recalls. “So I saved up $100 and she paid for the other half and I bought that guitar.” Once she moved on to an “actual big-girl,” instrument, she had a friend paint the original and she’s had it hanging ever since. “It just has good vibes on it,” she says.

Inspiring Vibe

“Since the home is new construction, I really wanted to bring some earthy elements in to warm up the spaces,” Winthrop says. Rustic wood accents throughout complement Ballerini’s southern-chic vision — “I’m from east Tennessee and that’s what I love” — come to life in the music room. The singer’s proudly displayed albums add to the inspirational aesthetic of the space. “Hopefully the next album will be written in that room,” she says. Inside Missy Elliott’s first headlining tour, with Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland

LOS ANGELES (AP) — At a 24,000-square-foot studio near downtown Los Angeles, Missy Elliott , Busta Rhymes and Ciara are preparing to film the video announcement for a tour no one saw coming.

This summer, the trio — along with legendary producer Timbaland — will hit the road for Elliott’s first headlining arena tour, appropriately titled “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience.”

“Listen, I didn’t realize I never had my own tour,” says a smiling Elliott, holding her tiny Yorkie, named Fendi, dressed in Gucci. “The last real tour that I went on — like, consistent days — was with Beyoncé and Alicia (Keys).”

That was in 2004.

Call it long overdue, but the timing is ideal. Over the last few years, Elliott — the forward-seeking artist — has been recognized for her talents as a musician, producer, songwriter and beyond .

In 2019, she became the first female rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. In 2021, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2022, her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia, named a boulevard after her. Last year, she became the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“Getting those accolades, I feel like I’ve finally made it,” Elliott says. “It feels amazing. I feel so blessed.”

“What we’re seeing now is kind of the rest of the world catching up,” says Mona Scott-Young, Elliott’s longtime manager and co-producer of the tour. “She’s always been ahead.”

In his green room, Busta Rhymes tells the AP that a tour had never come up in conversation across his decades of friendship and collaboration with Elliott. (He’s the intro and outro voice on her canonical debut album, 1997’s “Supa Dupa Fly.” They’ve long since been inseparable.)

“She doesn’t really tour and she doesn’t perform often. I just kind of understood my sister — the unspoken thing,” he says. “You knew that if she decided to do this, go to the place where she was actually ready to tour, the s--- was going to be crazy because one thing Missy never did was play with her production. And you saw that in everything she did, from her shows to her videos.”

He continued: “Missy will turn down $10 million to do a show. … She’s super in control of her destiny in that way, and without compromise, is what made her super incredibly great. You can’t do nothing but love her for that. She’s a true artist in the purest form of the word.”

And make no mistake, this isn’t a nostalgia tour.

“We are in the best spaces in our lives, individually and collectively, we’re at the most experienced spaces in our lives,” Rhymes says. “We’re no longer Daniel-san. We’re now all Mr. Miyagi senseis. You know what I’m saying? We’re all at our perfection levels of what we’ve been doing and building together as a collective family for 30 years.”

Elliott echoed the sentiment.

“The lineup feels something special,” says Elliott. “It’s family. It’s not put together.”

On set, the trio are styled by longtime collaborator June Ambrose — all-black looks, like if the Avengers were impeccably dressed and made up of R&B and hip-hop legends. They take photos as a group and individually.

After her solo photo shoot, Ciara starts to tear up.

“When I was a little girl, a little artist coming up, and you would ask me, ‘Who inspires you?’ I would infuse a combination of people: Michael Jackson and Prince and I would say Missy Elliott. She’s one of the best performers of all time,” she said.

“She means a lot to me as an artist but also as a person, as a sister. She’s always someone I can call for the truth, and she’s got to keep it real with me. She’s someone I can call and cry to if I need to.”

But ask her if there will be any on-stage collaborations — Elliott wrote and was featured on Ciara’s huge hit “1, 2 Step”; Ciara’s on Elliott’s “Lose Control” — she laughs. “Missy’s very particular. I don’t want to ruin any surprises,” she says. “I think from beginning to end, people will be on their feet. All of us have a lot of energetic records.”

“Somebody’s gonna die!” Rhymes jokes.

“And come back to life,” Ciara cuts in.

“Let’s keep it positive,” Rhymes laughs. “Someone is gonna die and come back to life.”

Later, Elliott offers a hint at what fans can expect from the show. “It’s an experience, it’s not just you seeing the artist on the stage,” she says. “I want people to travel to those moments, those (music) videos , I want you to relive it on stage. It is most definitely a lot of good, good stuff. Expensive stuff!”

The “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience” kicks off in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 4 at Rogers Arena and concludes in Rosemont, Illinois, at Allstate Arena on Aug. 22.

It will hit Seattle; Oakland, California; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Denver; Austin, Texas; Houston; Fort Worth, Texas; Tampa, Florida; Sunrise, Florida; Atlanta; Baltimore; Hampton, Virginia; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Newark, New Jersey; Boston; Brooklyn, New York; Detroit; Montreal and Toronto.

The tour is produced by Young’s Monami Entertainment and Live Nation. Presale begins tomorrow , and tickets will become available to the general public on Friday.
