live tour de ski

The 17th iteration of the Tour de Ski will take place in 2022–2023 and be a part of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. The World Cup stage event will begin on December 31, 2022, in Val Müstair, Switzerland, and conclude on January 8, 2023, in Val di Fiemme, Italy. For the third time, the tour will begin in Val Müstair. The previous edition was won by Johannes Klaebo of Norway and Natalya Nepryayeva of Russia. Since Russia and Belarus have been barred from competing in this World Cup season as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Nepryayeva will not be participating in the competition.

The Tour de Ski 2022-23 features two main individual classes as well as a team competition. The most important are the overall standings, which are calculated by aggregating each skier’s finishing times on each stage. During mass start stage 6, time bonuses (time subtracted) are provided at both sprint stages and at intermediate points. The winners of the sprint stages receive 60 extra seconds, while the first ten skiers past the intermediate point on mass start stage 6 receive between 15 and 1 second. The overall winner of the Tour de Ski is the skier with the lowest cumulative time. The skier in first place in the overall standings will wear a yellow bib.

The points standings will substitute the sprint race from previous editions as the second competition. The points standings will be won by the skiers who receive the most points during the Tour. The number of points available for each stage completion is dependent by the type of stage. A red bib will be worn by the leader. The final competition will be a team competition. This is determined using the finishing times of the best two skiers of both genders per team on every stage. The leading team is the team with the lowest combined time.
