November 2nd, 2021, your guide to lse’s virtual graduate open events.

Estimated reading time: 10 minutes

Here’s a handy guide to help you navigate LSE’s Virtual Graduate Open Events taking place from Monday 8 to Friday 19 November 2021, from Student Recruitment Administrator and LSE Alum Nazia Taznim.

lse virtual tour

LSE’s Virtual Graduate Open Events  will allow prospective graduate students to get to know more about LSE, the graduate study opportunities and support available for those considering pursuing a Master’s or PhD at the School. All from the comfort of your own home!

There are many live online events   taking place between Monday 8 to Friday 19 November 2021 , where you’ll have the chance to attend virtual sessions and find out everything you need to know about:

  • Our  Master’s and PhD programmes  taught at LSE
  • The admissions process and how to apply
  • The student experience directly from current LSE students
  • Support services during your graduate studies

And you’ll be able to ask questions to our staff and students during the online events.

Here’s what’s coming up over the next two weeks and how to choose which events to book onto and attend:

Subject/Department events

We have 25 departments and over 140 taught master’s programmes at LSE. So, if you want to know more about the Master’s or PhD programmes you’re interested in applying for, you should definitely attend an online session delivered by your department of interest. Hear from department faculty about the:

  • Programmes on offer in their department
  • Programme content and structures
  • Student life within the department

You’ll also be able to submit your questions and get answers directly from department staff and students.

You can find all our department-specific events  here  and book now. Some departments will also be holding separate sessions for individual programmes and levels of study so book now!

Applying to LSE for Graduate Study

If you have any admissions-based questions, it is a good idea to book onto one of the  Applying to LSE for graduate study talks. Delivered by LSE’s Graduate Admissions team, they will go through what you need to be aware of in your journey to make a successful application. As you’ll have the chance to submit questions during the session, it’s good to have a few prepared beforehand.

This talk is key if you want to know more about:

  • What the application process involves
  • What makes a successful application
  • Everything you need to make and complete your application

Introduction to LSE

Our LSE Discovery Sessions take place every two weeks for prospective students thinking about studying at LSE and will provide attendees with an insight into the study options at LSE, student life and services and the application process. We hold separate sessions for undergraduate and graduate study, and there’s two for prospective graduate students taking place during the LSE Virtual Graduate Open Day. Book  here .

If you can’t make this LSE Discovery Session, there’ll be more taking place which you can find  here .

Current Student Panels

Want to hear what it’s like studying at LSE from a student’s perspective? Then book onto our student panel talks where we’ll have (you guessed it) current LSE students sharing their experiences of applying and studying at LSE, and what it’s like being an LSE student. There will be separate  Master’s  and  PhD  students’ panels which you can book onto.

PhD Academy

The PhD Academy at LSE is a dedicated hub just for doctoral students, providing support for PhD students from day one of your PhD studies. This is a key event for anyone interested in doing a PhD at LSE, and you’ll have the chance to ask the team your questions! Book  here .

Why not check out the services and support offered by the PhD Academy  here .

An introduction to LSE LIFE: a centre to develop the skills you’ll need to reach your goals at LSE

Did you know that LSE LIFE is a dedicated hub to help students ease into the academic, personal and professional transition to university study and beyond? Find out about the workshops, presentations, online resources, 1-to-1 support and more for LSE students in  these online sessions . You can also find out more about their services  here .

LSE Careers

Find out about the career support services available to students during and after your studies at LSE and ask your questions to the LSE Careers team in their online events . Also, check out the  LSE Careers website .

Funding your studies: an online session with LSE Financial Support

At LSE, there is a range of financial support available, offered on the basis of academic merit and financial need as well as country and subject specific scholarships.

Book  here  to attend these sessions , where you’ll be able to ask any questions you have about funding your studies at LSE and the range of financial support available for both Master’s and PhD students. Also, see the  Fees and Funding page  for more information.

Final thoughts

LSE’s Virtual Graduate Open Events are here to help you if you’re thinking about studying a Master’s or PhD at LSE. Make the most of the online sessions coming up, including having some questions ready that you may want to ask our departments, staff and students. I hope you find this guide useful as you decide which online sessions you want to book and attend! You can find more details on all online events taking place for the next two weeks and book your space  here  now! You can also follow us on  Twitter  for all the latest updates. I wish you all the best in your academic journey!

Check out our  Events finder  for more virtual opportunities to learn about studying at LSE and experience LSE from home through our  blogs, vlogs, videos and more .
