Kegiatan Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) digelar di Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan (Sulsel) hari ini, Senin 5 Juni 2023. Lantas apa itu MNEK?

Pada tahun 2023 ini, kegiatan MNEK merupakan peringatan yang ke 4 tahun. Adapun tema yang diangkat pada perayaan kali ini adalah "Partnership To Recover And To Rise Stronger".

Melalui tema ini diharapkan setiap negara selalu siap menghadapi situasi darurat yang berkaitan dengan bencana alam.

Dikutip dari laman resmi tni.mil.id, MNEK adalah kegiatan latihan non-perang yang dilaksanakan oleh TNI Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL) bersama dengan negara-negara sahabat. Kegiatan ini mengedepankan kerjasama maritim di kawasan regional, penanggulangan bencana, serta operasi kemanusiaan.

Tujuannya adalah untuk mempererat hubungan kerjasama TNI AL dengan angkatan laut mitra dalam operasi militer dan non-militer, seperti bantuan bencana dan evakuasi medis.

Selain itu, latihan tersebut juga dimaksudkan untuk membantu implementasi ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response yang sudah disepakati sebelumnya.

Melansir Jurnal berjudul Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo: Enhancing Indonesia's Multilateral Defence Diplomacy? yang diterbitkan Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affair, disebutkan bahwa pelaksanaan MNEK pertama kali dilakukan pada tahun 2014 di bawah pemerintahan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Acara MNEK perdana diadakan di Batam, Indonesia pada tahun 2014. Kegiatan tersebut melibatkan sekitar 4.800 personel TNI Angkatan Laut dan 27 kapal perang.

Ada 18 negara yang turut berpartisipasi dalam latihan multilateral ini, termasuk Amerika Serikat, Tiongkok, Jepang, Korea Selatan, India, Australia, Selandia Baru dan Rusia.

Secara total, latihan tersebut melibatkan sekitar 1.500 personel militer asing. Fokus latihan MNEK 2014 adalah bantuan kemanusiaan dan penanggulangan bencana.

Selanjutnya kegiatan ini dilanjutkan oleh Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) sebagai acara dua tahunan. Visi Presiden Jokowi tentang Poros Maritim Dunia (GMF) semakin meningkatkan pentingnya latihan multilateral ini.

MNEK Kedua diadakan pada tahun 2016 di Padang, Indonesia. Kemudian pada tahun 2018 diadakan MNEK ketiga di Lombok Indonesia.

Sebagai latihan multilateral, MNEK memberikan kesempatan kepada militer INdonesia, khususnya Angkatan Laut untuk terlibat dalam hubungan mitra Internasional. MNEK juga memberikan keunggulan khusus dibanding dengan latihan bilateral karena lebih banyak peserta asing yang dapat terlibat.

Karena itu, MNEK dipandang sangat penting bagi Indonesia dan militernya. Ia berperan penting dalam memfasilitasi diplomasi pertahanan dan keamanan nasional.

Latihan bersama MNEK memungkinkan Indonesia dan mitra internasionalnya untuk memperkuat keamanan maritim regional dengan beroperasi bersama. Dan tentu akan meningkatkan reputasi Indonesia di mata dunia.

Swift’s inclusion comes after Forbes declared the singer a billionaire in October 2023 and reported her net worth at $1.1 billion.

In a rare feat, Swift is the first musician to reach the milestone solely from songwriting and performing. Her fortune doesn’t largely derive from profitable side hustles (think: beauty brands, fashion lines, alcohol investments, etc.), which have been typical avenues for entertainers to become billionaires in recent years. This puts her in a unique category with artists like Bruce Springsteen, who earned $1 billion from on the road touring.

More than $500 million of Swift’s fortune is from music royalties and touring. She made an estimated $190 million after taxes from the first leg of the Eras tour and another $35 million from the first two weeks of screenings of the corresponding concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , which became the highest-grossing concert movie in history.

Meanwhile, another $500 million of her earnings came from the increasing value of her music catalog. Her masters (Swift’s first six albums) were infamously purchased in 2019 by Scooter Braun and eventually sold to Shamrock Capital for $300 million in 2020.

“This is my worst case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept,” Swift penned on Tumblr in 2019 when she learned that Braun had bought her masters. “Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.”

At the time, Swift also parted ways with her long-time home, Big Machine Label Group, to join Universal Music Group’s Republic Records, a deal that would give the superstar complete ownership over songwriting and the recordings, ultimately boosting her earnings in the long run.

"I'm ecstatic to announce that my musical home will be Republic Records and Universal Music Group," Swift wrote on Instagram about the news. "Over the years, [UMG chief] Sir Lucian Grainge and [Republic chief] Monte Lipman have been such incredible partners. It's so thrilling to me that they, and the UMG team, will be my label family moving forward. It's also incredibly exciting to know that I'll own all of my master recordings that I make from now on."

Since switching labels, Swift has released four new albums, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights, and re-recorded Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version ). Swift’s the sole writer on over one-fourth of her top 50 Billboard chart hits, although she frequently shares writing credits with collaborators like Jack Antonoff and Max Martin, who also get a portion of a record sale.

On April 19, the pop star will release her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which will also add to her massive earnings. Swift announced the new record during her Album of the Year win acceptance speech at the 2024 Grammy Awards in February.

While becoming a billionaire, the singer made a huge monetary impact on the NFL. Swift created a brand value equivalent of $331.5 million for the Chiefs and the league, according to data from Apex Marketing Group . That number comes from print, digital, radio, TV, highlights, and social media mentioning Swift from her first game on Sept. 24 to Jan. 22.

One of Swift’s many accomplishments from last year also includes being named Time Magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year. In her interview with journalist Sam Lansky, Swift told the magazine that “this is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.”

Who won the Masters in 2023? Jon Rahm became champion before LIV Golf defection

Only three golfers have won back-to-back Masters tournaments at Augusta: Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods. Jon Rahm is hoping to become the fourth.

The 2023 Masters winner will be in the field in 2024 as he looks to do something that hasn't been done since 2002, when a Tiger Woods in the midst of his first prime won golf's first major of the season for the second time in a row. Rahm, who shot a 12-under 276 for the weekend, beat out Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka (8-under 280) for his first green jacket.

This year, it won't get any easier. Rahm will find himself up against Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and many more of golf's best as he looks for his third career major win.

Rahm, who went on to join LIV Golf later in 2023 despite previously pledging himself to the PGA Tour, is suspended from the PGA Tour for his defection to the controversial league. However, he is able to play at Augusta thanks to The Masters' eligibility rules.

Who won the Masters in 2023?

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm is the defending Masters champion, making him the second non-USA-born golfer in three years to don the green jacket (2021 winner Hideki Matsuyama was born in Ehime prefecture in Japan).

Rahm held off LIV golfers Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson to win his first Masters, capping off an utterly torrid start to his season. Koepka entered the final round with the lead while Mickelson came in 10 strokes off pace, putting Rahm in the Goldilocks position to pull off a Sunday victory.

He shot 3-under 69 in the final round whereas Koepka shot 3-over 75, giving Rahm a four-stroke victory. Mickelson, meanwhile, shot 7-under 65 on Sunday to work his way into a tie for second on the leaderboard.

“Hard to put it into words," Rahm said after his win, per Golf Digest . "Obviously we all dream of things like this as players, and you try to visualize what it's going to be like and what it's going to feel like. And when I hit that third shot on the green [at the 18th], and I could tell it was close by the crowd's reaction, just the wave of emotion of so many things just overtook me. Never thought I was going to cry by winning a golf tournament, but I got very close on that 18th hole."

Rahm had a phenomenal first two days at Augusta before a lackluster third round threatened his position atop the leaderboard.

After entering the final day two strokes back of leader Brooks Koepka, Koepka's struggles on Sunday opened the door for Rahm, who ultimately won the day and the tournament. Par at Augusta National is 72 for the day, and 288 for the weekend.

Is Jon Rahm playing in 2024 Masters?

Despite not playing on PGA Tour, Rahm will be participating in the 2024 Masters.

Rahm defected to LIV Golf in December 2023, which led to his immediate suspension from PGA Tour events. The Masters, however, operates as an independent body, and has its own suite of rules for eligibility. One of those rules is automatic tournament participation for life thanks to his 2023 victory.

Rahm isn't the only golfer from LIV who is eligible. Other LIV golfers who will be in field include Koepka, Joaquin Niemann, Cameron Smith, and Mickelson, among others.

Why did Jon Rahm join LIV Golf?

Rahm, who decried LIV Golf upon the breakout league's inception, joined the Saudi-backed league on Dec. 7, 2023.

"To be honest, part of the (LIV) format is not really appealing to me," Rahm said in 2022, per NBC Sports . "Shotgun three days to me is not a golf tournament, no cut. It’s that simple. I want to play against the best in the world in a format that’s been going on for hundreds of years. That’s what I want to see."

Upon joining LIV, Rahm has performed an about-face.

“I’d say there was two instances," Rahm said of his change of heart on GOLF.com's "Breakthrough." "I think dynamics started to change and there was a lot of division at that time. And yes, for me to want to change, there had to be reasons beyond the money, right? So when I said that I fully meant it and it was true. Now, when they slap you with a large amount of money in your face, your feelings do change. I try not to be a materialistic person, but I do owe it to my family as well to set them up for success the best I can, and having kids I think changed that quite a bit. So the money is a part of it; I’m not going to lie. But again, when I said that I wasn’t fully aware of what I was saying because you don’t really understand.”

In summation, the move largely came down to money.

The biggest golf tournament of the year started on Thursday with a field of 89 players at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Of that field, 13 LIV golfers are competing for the iconic green jacket.

Defending Masters champion and LIV golfer Jon Rahm shot a 1-over-73 in Round 1. But it was another LIV golfer - Bryson DeChambeau - who took the top spot after the first day at Augusta National with a 7-under-65.

DeChambeau led the field but multiple LIV players were high up the leaderboard. Tyrrell Hatton finished Round 1 tied for sixth after shooting a 3-under-69. Joaquín Niemann and Patrick Reed both finished tied for ninth with a 2-under-70.
