Movements: RUCKUS! TOUR 2024

With special guests : tigers jaw, webbed wing, paerish, friday, apr 12 2024, show at 7:30pm  |   doors at 6:30pm, post hardcore, seating charts.

Reflecting personal changes from a whirlwind five years, Movements realize the full scope of their storytelling, musicianship, and vision on their second full-length album, No Good Left To Give [Fearless Records]. Not only does the music address the emotional push-and-pull of relationships, but it also explores loss, love, mental health, and even intimacy through a prism of newfound clarity soundtracked by post-punk grit, alternative expanse, heartfelt spoken word, expansive rock, and subtle pop ambition. The Southern California quartet—Patrick Miranda [vocals], Ira George [guitar], Spencer York [drums], and Austin Cressey [bass]—quietly worked towards this moment since forming in 2015. Following the 2016 EP Outgrown Things, the group cemented a singular sound on their 2017 full-length debut, Feel Something. Eclipsing 128 million Spotify streams by 2020, it immediately connected by way of “Daylilly” [43 million Spotify streams], “Full Circle” [20 million Spotify streams], and “Colorblind” [15 million Spotify streams]. Along the way, the four-piece received acclaim from Brooklyn Vegan, AXS, Rock Sound, Culture Collide, and more. In between packing shows worldwide, they joined forces with Alzheimer’s Association for the “Deadly Dull” video and covered “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M. for the Songs that Saved My Life compilation. Recorded with longtime producer and frequent collaborator Will Yip [Title Fight, Turnover], they introduce this chapter with spectral and soaring “Ghost” and unassumingly intimate “Skin To Skin,” among other anthems.

I Won’t Care How You Remember Me, by the Scranton, Pennsylvania-based band Tigers Jaw, is an ode to living in the present. As this hectic era of distraction whirrs, ticks, swipes, and scrolls by each of us at an alarming speed, the ability to maintain a sense of priority for the human elements in our lives as well as a reflective understanding of self, remains a lost art. But here, the group has seized upon it. Tigers Jaw’s sixth album—and first for new label home Hopeless Records—finds members Ben Walsh (vocals/guitar), Brianna Collins (vocals/keyboards), Teddy Roberts (drums), and Colin Gorman (bass) at the height of their powers, fusing their collective skills with the synchronicity and energy the band honed over several years of non-stop touring. The result is a back-to-the-basement approach elevated by the unmistakable production of their longtime friend and collaborator Will Yip. The band’s most sonically ambitious and lyrically affecting album to date, I Won’t Care How You Remember Me sees a newfound freshness and creative freedom crystalizing the lush and dynamic world of Tigers Jaw.

Opening with the urgent strums of Walsh’s striking title track—featuring Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull on backing vocals—“I Won’t Care How You Remember Me” is a super-charged and emotional ripper about the importance of being direct and truthful with the people in one’s life. While at first the song seemed to be an unapologetically defiant statement, it ended up carrying a greater significance for the band, who rallied around it as a sentiment of a shared personal renaissance that sets the tone for the album, as well as the band as a whole. “This album is a hopeful time capsule of a band who has been through a lot together. It’s about growth, self-reflection, and figuring out how to be present in the moment to really take stock of what’s important, without getting sidetracked by the opinions of others or things out of our control,” Walsh says. “Tigers Jaw can get through anything and be stronger because of it. We’ve endured lots of change over the last 15 years, but a lot of things have remained consistent. We make the music we want to make, we push each other to continue evolving and growing as musicians, and we are so proud of where we are now.”

One of the biggest steps of the band’s evolution has been in songwriting; while their 2017 album spin found Walsh and Collins splitting the writing duties, I Won’t Care marks the first time all four members shared input. “I’m newer to songwriting, but the encouragement and collaboration that happened between us as a band while writing this record built up my confidence and excitement in being a songwriter,” Collins says. “Collaborating together not only pushed me as a songwriter, but it also reinforced how good it feels to be in this band.”

Gathering together on the heels of a long, intense stretch of touring in early 2019 to work on new material, the foursome found that their dynamic as musicians and friends was firing on all cylinders. The band was tighter than ever before, and considered the writing process a chance to get back to the band’s roots with all members in a room together working collaboratively toward a common goal. “We were tearing apart demos and making these songs the best representation of this group of four people that we could,” Walsh recalls.

Where spin was a moving soundscape replete with several dense layers of instruments and vocals, I Won’t Care pushes the elements of liveliness and human connectivity forward. Minimal layers and takes were used. “After touring so extensively and developing a really strong musical chemistry together, recording in that style seemed like the best approach to capture our band’s truest self,” says Gorman.

“Cat’s Cradle,” a thrilling synth-led number written and sung by Collins, tells the saga of a flamed-out friendship in just over two-and-a-half throttling minutes. “This song is about the realization that no matter how much love, effort and consideration you put into a friendship, sometimes it just isn’t enough to make it work,” explains Collins. “The lyrics touch on how being passive aggressive and not communicating true feelings can just lead to tension, confusion, and frustration in any relationship. I have the tendency to suppress my own feelings and apologize first, so with this song I wanted to acknowledge my own thoughts and feelings while moving forward from that type of dynamic.”

The aptly-named “Hesitation” describes “those sinking feelings of sensing that the person you love is beginning to drift away,” says Walsh. Originally brought in to the group to record in early 2019, Walsh’s song was re-recorded and changed—sometimes drastically—nearly a half-dozen times before reaching its final status. “That song is a testament that we put the work in and were willing to try new things,” Roberts says. Elsewhere, the slinky, groovy “New Detroit” evokes the Americana-tinged alt-rock of Gin Blossoms (a personal favorite of Walsh’s). “This song was conceptualized while touring Australia after starting a new relationship. I was reflecting on the previous Australian tour years ago when my home life was in a rough place, and that took over the entire experience. I felt mentally split between the two places, unable to be in the moment.” The charged “Can’t Wait Forever” and “Body Language” pair in yearning with Collins’s fuzzed-out “Lemon Mouth” and “Commit,” the latter a showcase for the rhythm section’s formidable talents.

The album ends with “Anniversary,” an anthem of solidarity that fades out on the strains of Walsh’s refrain: “We all fall apart in the same way.” It’s a compelling notion that serves as a reminder of our collective similarities, as well as a signal of Tigers Jaw’s undeniable union. “There’s no question that we are all best friends, or even deeper—like family,” Collins says. “We love playing music together and it feels so good to be in this band and have this camaraderie. We made this record for ourselves, together. We know who we are as a band, and we’re gonna keep doing things the way we want to do them and keep learning from each other and growing.”

Webbed Wing

movements tour lineup

Following a decorated career with Philly rock group Superheaven, singer and guitarist Taylor Madison meanders into newly-refined songwriter territory with the inception of Webbed Wing in 2018. Joined by Jake Clarke (drums) and Mike Paulshock (bass), the band fully realizes their innate genre-blending musicality. Webbed Wing’s somewhat simplistic approach to songwriting explores what it means to birth a sad song without fully killing a mood, paired with a soundscape laden with nostalgia and a tasteful pop-rock resurgence. Taking notes from the likes of The Lemonheads and Teenage Fanclub, Webbed Wing encapsulates everything lyrically gripping about indie and everything vibrant about modern pop. While also expertly intertwining the heaviness of metal and the earnesty of country, the band blends all these different aspects of their craft into something highly palatable and new. The bands themselves were all fantastic but I don’t think I’d go back to king tuts for another gig as the security were being huge D-Bags pushing people about trying to stop mosh pits. Even going as far as to lift a girl out the venue to tell her not to crowd surf. But muskets were amazing and put on a great show, and movements were a definite 10/10 and I will 100% be going to see them again in future.

ABOUT A DAY TO REMEMBER:

Since their formation in 2003, A Day To Remember quietly emerged as arguably the biggest underground band in the world. The Florida group affirmed this status by achieving one platinum album, one gold album, one platinum single, and four gold singles. Not to mention, each full-length record ascended to #1 on the Billboard Rock, Indie, and/or Alternative Charts with 2016’s Bad Vibrations bowing at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. They’ve put up unprecedented numbers for a rock act in the 21 st century, generating 850 million Spotify streams, 500 million YouTube views, and sales of three million-plus units. They’ve also packed arenas on continental tours and attracted a worldwide audience consisting of millions. Additionally, A Day To Remember successfully launched their own Self Help Festival in 2014, which continues going strong. Plus, everyone from Marshmello to Pierce The Veil has sought them out for collaborations. All of which explains why Rolling Stone called them “An Artist You Need To Know . ”

A Day To Remember is: Jeremy McKinnon (vocals), Alex Shelnutt (drums), Kevin Skaff (guitar, vocals), and Neil Westfall (guitar, vocals).

With the historic venue under new management and undergoing renovations, its team announced Tuesday morning a diverse lineup of five shows for August and September.

On Aug. 2, the 90-year-old outdoor stage will host Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rapper Ice Cube and his "Legends of Hip Hop Tour" featuring E-40 and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony .

Grammy Award winners Blues Traveler and platinum-selling rockers Big Head Todd and the Monsters will perform Aug. 3 at Zoo Amp.

OKC's Zoo Amphitheatre undergoing infrastructure updates

The venerable venue at the Oklahoma City Zoo is undergoing infrastructure and facilities updates before this year's outdoor concert season begins, with a focus on retaining the amphitheater's history and integrity.

Last month, it was revealed that the Zoo Amp has brought on a seasoned local management team with the backing of national partners SaveLive to produce the 2024 concert season and beyond. SaveLive also manages the OKC venues The Criterion, Tower Theatre, Beer City Music Hall and Ponyboy.

The Zoo Amphitheatre's storied history dates back to 1933, when construction started on the venue as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps , an economic recovery program established to provide jobs during the Great Depression.

Over the past nine decades, the amphitheater has hosted concerts by some of the top names in music, including Marvin Gaye, Willie Nelson, Chicago, ZZ Top, Grateful Dead, Sting, Dire Straits, the Steve Miller Band, Santana, Judas Priest, Joni Mitchell, Heart, Lynyrd Skynyrd and iconic Oklahomans the late JJ Cale, Vince Gill , the late Toby Keith and The Flaming Lips .

The newly announced shows will be the first concerts at the legendary venue since Oklahoma pop-punk band The All-American Rejects performed there last October.

When will tickets go on sale to this summer's Zoo Amphitheatre shows?

Tickets for the newly announced August and September shows at Zoo Amp go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12.

A venue presale will launch at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11.

Aerosmith Peace Out tour dates: How to get tickets to their rescheduled Phoenix concert

movements tour lineup

Aerosmith have announced 2024 rescheduled dates on their farewell tour for the concerts they postponed last year as Steven Tyler recovered from damage to his vocal cords, an injury sustained during a New York concert.

The Peace Out Tour will now bring Aerosmith to Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, with the Black Crowes. The concert had been scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023 .

The Boston rockers postponed all remaining dates in late September and shared the news on social media.

"Unfortunately, Steven's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought," they wrote. "His doctors have confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx, which requires ongoing care."

The post went on to note that Tyler was "receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential."

Aerosmith's Peace Out farewell tour will celebrate 5 decades of hits

Aerosmith also added three new dates, including Pittsburgh, where the Peace Out Tour will relaunch on Friday, Sept. 20.

The tour will pay homage to five decades of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate more than 50 years as one of America’s greatest rock bands.

They’re promising an “electrifying” show in an immersive 360-degree production with THX calibrating the audio in each arena.

Aerosmith farewell tour hailed as 'positively brilliant' and 'epic'

When the Peace Out Tour kicked off in September 2023, the Associated Press lauded it as "positively brilliant," while USA TODAY noted that “ the band was in peak form for this victory lap ."

The Philadelphia Inquirer praised Aerosmith’s "ability to make such a grand-scale performance feel like a raw and raucous club date,” while People described the show as “epic,” declaring that "Aerosmith is peacing out with a bang.”

Aerosmith Peace Out tour tickets

Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled shows. Ticketholders will receive more information via email.

2024 Masters Par 3 Contest leaderboard, results: Rickie Fowler wins, Viktor Hovland drains one of five aces

Fowler finally broke through at augusta national, though the green jacket still remains 72 holes away.

A Masters tradition is in the books for 2024. The Masters Par 3 Contest has come and gone, and a new champion has been crowned as Rickie Fowler fired a 5-under 22 on Augusta National's nine-hole par-3 course to take home the title. The fan favorite posted the clubhouse lead early in the competition with many players like Sepp Straka and J.T. Poston getting within a couple shots but never surpassing Fowler.

Fowler now holds the unenviable task of trying to break a streak dating back to 1960 of the Par 3 Contest winner not being able to slip on the green jacket later that same week. Numerous Masters champions have won the Par 3 Contest and the tournament, but never have they done so in the same year.

Fowler's card consisted of five birdies and four pars as he played alongside Jordan Spieth and Fred Couples. The theatrics of their grouping came in the form of Fowler and Spieth's children running rampant on the nine-hole, 1,090-yard par-3 course.

Elsewhere, fireworks came in the form of holes-in-one as there were five in total on the day, tying the second most in the competition's history. Luke List took the lid off the cup with an ace on No. 6; he was followed by Gary Woodland and Viktor Hovland on the same hole, Sepp Straka on No. 5, and Lucas Glover on No. 7. The total number of aces in the competition now stands at 112.

"As I said, this is my 12th time playing the par 3," Woodland said. "I've had some close calls. It was nice to see one go in. Nice to see my kids' reaction. They were so excited. I will say, my son making the putt on the last was more exciting for me than that ball going in."

With all the fun and all the preparations now in the books, it is time to get to the 88th playing of the Masters where another (slightly more meaningful) champion will be crowned.

Hovland with an ace!

Holes-in-one No. 5 comes from Viktor Hovland. He is the third player to make an ace on the sixth hole and he will be the last as he is a member of the final grouping of the day. Looks like Rickie Fowler is going to win this thing (grimaces)!

Koepka starts with three birdies

The five-time major champion goes 2-2-2 out the gate. I think in the back of his mind, Brooks knows not to win this thing and may have a family member take a swing (which automatically takes a player out of the competition). In real news, he is back to the mallet putter after some uncertainty earlier in the week.

Fourth ace of the day!

There are now 111 holes-in-one in competition history and four on the day after Lucas Glover made an ace on No. 7. That is the first one of the day on that hole as Glover joins Sepp Straka, Gary Woodland and Luke List as today's ace makers.

2020 champ gets underway

Dustin Johnson is one of the 20 Masters champions in the field and is joined by Charl Schwartzel and Thorbjorn Olesen. It will be interesting from a tournament perspective what we get from Johnson this year. He has won on LIV Golf, hasn't played a lot of other great golf but can certainly roll out of bed and shoot 67 with ease.

Fowler still leads

As the par-3 contest continues, the leaderboard is still spearheaded by Rickie Fowler. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is about to end his day with Sam Burns and Tom Kim.

Gary Woodland is cookin'

The 2019 U.S. Open champion became the second man to make a hole-in-one today and nearly poured in another one. He will have a putt on No. 7 to reach 6 under on his round and take the lead from Rickie Fowler.

Aerosmith relaunches Peace Out farewell tour, will play Detroit in January

movements tour lineup

Aerosmith's rebooted farewell tour will bring the iconic rock band to Little Caesars Arena on Jan. 4 for its final Detroit concert.

The Black Crowes remain aboard to open the show, just as they were when the tour was initially announced in May 2023.

Eighteen months after front man Steven Tyler suffered a vocal injury that derailed the band’s much-hyped goodbye outing, Aerosmith has announced its return to the road, starting with a Sept. 20 show in Pittsburgh and wrapping with a Feb. 26 show in Buffalo.

Aerosmith's Jan. 4 show in Detroit will follow the band's New Year's Eve concert in Boston, where Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry and company formed in 1970 before going on to rise up the rock ranks with a gritty and bluesy sound that produced hits such as “Walk This Way,” “Dream On” and “Sweet Emotion.”

The LCA show, originally scheduled for Sept. 18, 2023, was shifted to January 2024 when Tyler sustained vocal damage early in the tour. Weeks later, the entire farewell run was delayed indefinitely when the singer was diagnosed with a more serious fractured larynx.

Fans who held on to tickets for that original Detroit date are good to go. Any open seats will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster.

Patron admission will be delayed Thursday morning

Change Text Size

Updated: April 10, 2024, 7 p.m. ET – The Masters has issued a weather update, noting that patron admission will be delayed Thursday due to adverse weather conditions expected overnight and into the morning.

"Due to forecasted weather on Thursday, we have decided to delay all gate openings in the morning," the Masters posted on X, formerly Twitter. "All Masters free parking will be closed until further notice while gate openings are delayed. Further updates will be shared no later than 5 a.m. via Masters.com and social channels."

Updated: April 10, 2024, 10 a.m. ET – AUGUSTA, Ga. – The first round of the 88th Masters Tournament could be affected by inclement weather as dangerous conditions are predicted to arrive early Thursday.

There’s a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m., with wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m. ET and noon. That would create potentially dangerous conditions and push back tee times, possibly bringing Friday into play for the conclusion of Round 1.

Last year’s Masters was also affected by weather, with second-round play pushed to Saturday and third-round play pushed to Sunday, when eventual winner Jon Rahm and co-runner-up Brooks Koepka played 30 holes.

Severe weather began slamming the southern United States on Tuesday night, continued into Wednesday and was expected to reach the Augusta area first thing Thursday.

According to the Masters Tournament weather update:

“A cold front is forecast to bring a band of rain and scattered thunderstorms through the region between 6 a.m.-1 p.m. ET Thursday. Heavy rainfall and occasional wind gusts of 40-45 mph are anticipated over this period. A lull in precipitation should occur behind the cold front between 1-4 p.m. ET before scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms drift back into the region for the late afternoon and evening hours.

“Windy conditions persist Friday under mostly sunny skies as a dry and stable airmass settles into the area. Mostly sunny skies can be expected through the weekend with west to southwesterly winds in the 7-15 mph range.”

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m. ET. Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Forecast rainfall: 1-1 1/2 inches. Wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m.-noon. Low: 65F High: 77F Winds: S shifting SW 15-25; gusts 30-35 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny and windy. Noticeably less humid. Low: 54F High: 72F Winds: W 15-20; gusts 30 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 49F High: 78F Winds: WNW turning W 7-15 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 53F High: 84F Winds: W turning SW 7-15 mph.

The Masters has dealt with its share of weather conditions in recent years. The final round of Tiger Woods’ iconic 2019 victory came hours earlier than scheduled to avoid impending storms. Last year’s leaders played 30 holes on Sunday as storms wiped out much of the third round.

This year’s Masters is largely devoid of rainy conditions, with Thursday as the lone exception. According to the official Augusta National weather forecast, there is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with an expected rainfall of 1.00-1.50 inches.

“Isolated light showers are possible Tuesday and Wednesday before rain and thunderstorms arrive early Thursday and continue throughout the morning hours. A cold front is expected to pass through in the early afternoon, with diminishing precipitation chances for the remainder of Thursday. Thunderstorm wind gusts of 40-45 mph will be possible,” the official forecast stated.

Conditions are expected to clear up by Thursday afternoon and stay dry through the rest of the tournament. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of the official Augusta National weather forecast:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny. Low: 48F High: 79F Winds: S 7-10 mph
  • Tuesday : Cloudy with a 25% chance of light showers. Low: 58F High: 77F Winds: SSE 5-10 mph
  • Wednesday : Cloudy with a 20% chance of light showers during the day and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Low: 62F High: 80F Winds: S-SE 10-15, gusts up to 20 mph
  • Thursday : Mostly cloudy with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Windy. Forecast rainfall: 1.00-1.50” Low: 65F High: 78F Winds: S shifting SW 15-20 gusts up to 30 mph
  • Friday : Mostly sunny and windy; noticeably less humid. Low: 56F High: 73F Winds: WNW 15-20 gusts up to 30 mph
  • Saturday : Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 50F High: 78F Winds: WNW turning W 7-12 mph
  • Sunday*: Mostly cloudy. Low: 61F: High 82F Winds: SW 6-13 mph, gusts of 17 mph

The Zamoskvorechye District, located at the lower bank of the Moskva River, has almost undergone any renovation. Varied in style, Moscow churches XVII – XIX centuries, the Exchequers and the homes of famous Moscow merchants retain the image of old Moscow.

The first mention of the Zamoskvorechye in the documents refers to 1365, when first settlements began to form here. Since the second half of the XIX century, the area was popular among intellectuals. Outstanding figures of Russian culture lived and worked here. For example, young Lev Tolstoy rented an apartment in the merchant’s house in 1854-1855 in Pjatnitskaya Street. Fyodor Dostoevsky often visited his aunt in a house on Bolshaya Ordynka (known as Kumaninskoe farmstead). This area is closely associated with the names of Anna Akhmatova, the famous Russian publisher and educator Ivan Sytina. The Soviet era did not cause serious damage to Zamoskvorechye and despite modern development, here preserved historical architecture.
