लखनऊ में कुकरैल नाइट सफारी पार्क को मंजूरी

लखनऊ, 16 अगस्त (भाषा) उत् तर प्रदेश मंत्रिपरिषद ने लखनऊ के कुकरैल वन क्षेत्र में कुकरैल नाइट सफारी पार्क की स्थापना का निर्णय लिया है । मंत्रिपरिषद की बैठक के बाद पर्यटन मंत्री जयवीर सिंह ने पत्रकारों को बताया कि मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की अध्यक्षता में हुई मंत्रिपरिषद की बैठक में लखनऊ के वन क्षेत्र में पूर्वी और पश्चिमी हिस्से को मिलाकर 2027 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में वन को प्रभावित किये बिना 150 एकड़ क्षेत्र में प्राणि उद्यान और 350 एकड़ वन क्षेत्र में नाइट सफारी की स्थापना का निर्णय लिया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि साथ ही स्थानीय नवाब वाजिद.

उन्होंने कहा कि साथ ही स्थानीय नवाब वाजिद अली शाह प्राणि उद्यान का स्थानांतरित करते हुए उसे प्रस्तावित नाइट सफारी क्षेत्र से जोड़ दिया जाएगा।

उन्होंने कहा कि इसमें अधिक से अधिक खुले क्षेत्र, जो वर्तमान में उपयोग में नहीं है, का उपयोग किया जाएगा और यात्रियों को कोई असुविधा न हो, इसकी व्यवस्था की जाएगी। सिंह ने बताया कि कुकरैल नाइट सफारी और प्राणि उद्यान में आगंतुकों के लिए विश् व स् तरीय सुविधाएं विकसित की जाएंगी। यहां एक रिवर फ्रंट भी विकसित किये जाने की योजना है। परियोजना को लागू करने से पहले विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट तैयार करने के लिए अनुभवी सलाहकारों की नियुक्ति की जाएगी और इसका उचित मूल्यांकन किया जाएगा।

पर्यटन मंत्री ने एक अन्य फैसले की जानकारी देते हुए कहा कि मंत्रिपरिषद ने अलीगढ़ में पहले से संचालित फूड क्राफ्ट इंस्टीट्यूट का उन्नयन किया जाएगा। इसमें 17 कोर्स संचालित किए जाएंगे।

First Urban Night Safari of India

The 1st Urban Night Safari Project of India is being developed along the lines of the one present in Singapore. Speaking about the project, UP Minister of Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh said that as part of the Night Safari project “Train and jeep rides with local guides will also be provided” to the tourists. As part of Lucknow’s Night Safari Project, the government plans to create a separateLeopard safari on 75 acres of land, a Bear safari on 60 acres area and a Tiger safari on 75 acres. Unlike the zoo, where animals are kept caged, these safaris would allow them to roam free as they do in the wild.

Lucknow Night Safari: लखनऊ के कुकरैल में सिंगापुर की तर्ज पर कई सुविधाओ से लैस देश की पहली नाइट सफारी को मिली मंज़ूरी। साथ ही लखनऊ का मौजूदा वाजिद अली शाह जू भी कुकरैल शिफ्ट होगा। यहां अब 150 एकड़ में नया जू, तो 350 एकड़ में नाइट सफारी बनेगी। इसके अलावा यहां बायो डायवर्सिटी पार्क भी बनेगा। नाइट सफारी और चिड़ियाघर के लिए 1500 करोड़ का बजट तय किया गया है।

पहली नाइट सफारी

पिछले महीने सेंट्रल जू अथॉरिटी की टेक्निकल कमेटी ने राजधानी की प्रथम नाइट सफारी और नए प्राणी उद्यान प्रोजेक्ट को मान्यता दी है। इसके लिए देश के प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के प्रति प्रदेश के सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ ने अपना आभार भी व्यक्त किया था। पिछले साल ही योगी सरकार ने सिंगापुर के जैसा ही देश के पहले नाइट सफारी के साथ ही जैव विविधता पार्क यहां बनवाने का फैसला किया था। वैसे तो देश में कई सफारी बनाए जा चुके हैं लेकिन जब बात आती है नाइट सफारी की तो लखनऊ में ऐसी पहली नाइट सफारी होगी।

नाइट सफारी में होंगी विश्व स्तरीय सुविधाएं

लखनऊ की प्रथम नाइट सफारी में विश्वस्तरीय सुविधाएँ उपलब्ध होंगी। सभी दर्शकों को ट्रेन की सवारी के साथ जीप की सवारी भी करवाई जाएगी। सभी दर्शकों के लिए एक स्थानीय गाइड भी रखा जाएगा। इसके साथ ही कैनोपी वॉक और कैंपिंग जैसी एक्टिविटी भी होंगी। ट्रैक, दीवार पर्वतारोहण के साथ ही ट्री टॉप रेस्टोरेंट की भी सफारी में सुविधाएं जी जाएंगी। नेचर ट्रेल और फूड कोर्ट जैसी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराए जाने की भी योजना है।

खुले आसमान के नीचे होंगे सभी जानवर

बटरफ्लाई इंटरप्रिटेशन सेंटर के साथ ही 75 एकड़ में तेंदुआ सफारी भी बनाने की योजना है। वही 60 एकड़ में एक भालू सफारी तैयार की जाएगी। 75 एकड़ में टाइगर सफारी का लुत्फ उठाने का मौका मिलेगा। जानवरों को बाड़े में न रखकर खुले आसमान के नीचे रहने दिया जाए।

चिड़ियाघर होगा ओपन एयर

नए चिड़िया घर को ओपन एयर के रूप में विकसित करने की योजना बनायी गयी है। यहाँ रात में चंद्रमा की रौशनी जैसी ही रौशनी देने की कोशिश की जाएगी। इसके लिए मंद प्रकाश फैलाने की व्यवस्था होगी। दिन में पर्यटकों के लिए लेटेस्ट थीम पार्क भी तैयार करवाया जाएगा।

मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने प्रदेशवासियों को बड़ा उपहार दिया है। योगी सरकार सिंगापुर की तर्ज पर देश का पहला नाईट सफारी और जैव विविधता पार्क राजधानी लखनऊ में बनाएगी। देश में 13 ओपन डे सफारी हैं, लेकिन एक भी नाईट सफारी नहीं है। सीएम योगी की अध्यक्षता में लोकभवन में मंगलवार को हुए कैबिनेट बैठक में यह बड़ा फैसला लिया गया है।  इस बारे में पर्यटन और संस्कृति मंत्री जयवीर सिंह ने बताया कि सिंगापुर की विश्व की पहली नाईट सफारी की तर्ज पर 2027.46 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्रफल में फैले कुकरैल वन क्षेत्र में 350 एकड़ में नाईट सफारी विकसित की जाएगी और 150 एकड़ में प्राणी उद्यान बनाया जाएगा। विश्व स्तरीय सुविधाओं के तहत नाईट सफारी में स्थानीय गाइड के साथ ट्रेन की सवारी और जीप की सवारी भी की जा सकेगी। इसके अलावा कैनोपी वाक, कैंपिंग गतिविधि, माउंटेन बाइक ट्रैक, दीवार पर्वतारोहण, ट्री टॉप रेस्टोरेंट, नेचर ट्रेल और फूड कोर्ट आदि सुविधाएं विकसित की जाएंगीं। बाड़े में न रहकर खुले आकाश के नीचे टहलेंगे वन्य जीव नाईट सफारी में भव्य प्रवेश द्वार, व्याख्या केंद्र, बटरफ्लाई इंटरप्रिटेशन सेंटर बनाया जाएगा। इसके अलावा 75 एकड़ में तेंदुआ सफारी, 60 एकड़ में भालू सफारी और 75 एकड़ में टाइगर सफारी बनाने की योजना है। वन्य जीवों को बाड़े में न रखकर खुले आकाश में केटल ग्रिड में रखे जाएंगे। यह एक ओपन एयर निशाचर चिड़ियाघर होगा, जो केवल रात में खुलेगा। सफारी में रात में जानवरों के लिए चंद्रमा की रोशनी की नकल करते हुए मंद प्रकाश की व्यवस्था की जाएगी। दिन में पर्यटकों के लिए आधुनिक थीम पार्क बनाया जाएगा।   पर्यटकों को मिलेंगी विश्वस्तरीय सुविधाएं प्राणि उद्यान और नाईट सफारी की स्थापना में मौजूदा वनस्पति और जीवों को यथासम्भव प्रभावित न करते हुए, अधिक से अधिक ऐसे खुले क्षेत्र, जो वर्तमान में उपयोग में नहीं हैं, उनका ही प्रयोग किया जाएगा। कुकरैल वन क्षेत्र जहां-जहां बाहरी क्षेत्र और मार्ग से जुड़ा है, वहां चार लेन के मार्गों का निर्माण किया जाएगा, जिससे वहां आने वाले पर्यटकों को कोई असुविधा न हो। प्राणि उद्यान और नाईट सफारी की स्थापना के लिए मुख्य सचिव के स्तर पर बैठक कराकर इसकी प्रक्रिया का निर्धारण जल्द कराया जाएगा। कुकरैल नदी को चैनलाइज कर आकर्षक रिवर फ्रंट के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा। प्राणि उद्यान और कुकरैल नाईट सफारी में पर्यटकों के लिए विश्वस्तरीय सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई जाएंगी। सीएम योगी के कारण देश की पहली नाईट सफारी ले रही मूर्त रूप सीएम योगी प्रदेश में ईको टूरिज्म को बढ़ावा देने के लिए सतत प्रयासरत रहे हैं। जिसका नतीजा है कि देश की पहली नाईट सफारी मूर्त रूप लेने जा रही है। वर्तमान में कुकरैल वन क्षेत्र में एक घड़ियाल प्रजनन केंद्र, चिल्ड्रेन पार्क और एक वन विश्राम गृह है। इस क्षेत्र को नाईट सफारी और जैव-विविधता पार्क में परिवर्तित करने से पर्यटन को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा। साथ ही यह सामान्य रूप से देश और विशेष रूप से प्रदेश के लोगों को विश्व स्तरीय ईको-पर्यटन की सुविधा देगा।

Lucknow to introduce night safari in Kukrail forest area, soon

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath was shown the presentation on the night safari and he directed officials to develop night safari without harming the forest.

The CM also said this project will add a new destination to the tourism map of the state capital and promote eco-tourism, said a press statement from the state government.

The proposal also stated to carve out a zoo in Kukrail.

If this happens, this will be the second zoo in Lucknow. At present, Kukrail is a popular picnic spot. It also has a Ghariyal breeding centre and a turtle research and rescue centre.

For the project, the Kukrail river will be channelised, and the road will be widened. The total area of the Kukrail forest is 2027.46 hectares. There is a proposal to develop a zoo and night safari on a 500-acre land, the press statement added.

He said the state government was committed to the safety of animals and the protection of the forest. This project will be a mix of entertainment, education and information.

India’s first urban night safari would be similar to the world's first nocturnal zoo located in Singapore's Mandai. “Visitors can enjoy train and jeep rides with local guides. There would be separate leopard, bear and tiger safaris,” a forester said

If all goes as per plan, India’s first urban night safari and Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious Kukrail zoo and night safari will be completed by the end of 2023.

Kukrail zoo and night safari, which is coming up on 2,027 hectares of forest area in Lucknow, is part of the state government’s projects to boost eco-tourism and ensure wildlife conservation in UP.

Ravi K Singh, district forest officer (DFO), Awadh Division, forest department, UP, said: “The Central Zoo Authority (CZA) has recently given approval to the entire Kukrail project, which will be another feather in UP’s cap. The approval was pending for a long time with the CZA.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav for the approval.

The CM said that the UP government is keen on ecotourism and wildlife conservation, which is in line with the PM’s vision.

Officials said that the proposal for Kukrail night safari and zoo was approved by the state cabinet in August 2022. As per the blueprint, the cabinet had approved the transformation of 2,027.4 hectares of forest area in Kukrail into a zoological garden and night safari park.

The CM had also issued the directions to ensure the development of the project in an environment friendly manner.

Uttar Pradesh | Lucknow’s 102-year-old zoo will be shifted to Kukrail. The animals here will also be shifted. India’s first urban night safari would be similar to the world’s first nocturnal zoo located in Singapore’s Mandai. Being one of the most popular tourist attractions, the concept of a nocturnal park was first suggested in the 1980s by former executive chairman of Singapore Zoo Dr Ong Swee Law. It was constructed at a cost of $63 million and became operational on May 26, 1994. The night safari, set up on around 35 hectares, currently houses over 900 animals, representing over 100 species, of which 41 per cent are endangered, officials said.

“In the safari, visitors can enjoy train and jeep rides with local guides. Also, there would be separate leopard, bear and tiger safaris,” a forester said.

THE FACILITIES

The project also envisages the establishment of a four-lane approach road to ensure connectivity. Of the total area, 150 acres would be utilised for a zoological garden.

According to the plan, the existing over-100 years old Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden located in the Director General of Police (DGPs) Office, Lucknow, would also be shifted to the Kukrail zoo. After being shifted, the zoo will be transformed into a modern open-air nocturnal zoo.

Officials said the government also plans to develop a modern theme park for tourists with amusement and adventure sport facilities such as canopy walk, camping activity, mountain bike track, wall climbing, tree-top restaurant, nature trail and food court.

India To Get Its First Night Safari in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh And It Is Indeed An Elaborate Affair!

Isn’t it exciting that you would no longer have to visit other countries to enjoy a night safari and will just have to concentrate on planning the trip within India!!!

Recently on 16th August 2022 (Tuesday), in the Uttar Pradesh (UP) cabinet meeting, presided by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the proposal to set up the night safari and shift the current Lucknow Zoo, was approved.

Necessary permissions pertaining to the rules and guidelines of the International Advisory and Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi would soon be procured along with preparation of the master plan, master layout and selection of the agency that is going to execute the plan.

The proposal was initially put forth in 2012 and finally passed by the UP cabinet in August 2013 for the night safari project to be developed in Greater Noida area, near Gautam Budh University (GBU) campus. Unfortunately, although the project was conceptualized in 2012, it was supposed to be developed by 2017, but the UP government was only successful in getting the paperwork completed between 2012 and 2017. As a result, the Night Safari Project was scrapped by Greater Noida Authority to accommodate a “Film City” project on 550 acres of land that was earmarked for Night Safari Project.

Current Update

The Night Safari Project would be developed on the lines of how Singapore had set up its Night Safari. A bio-diversity park and world-class night safari would be established in the Kukrail Forest Area in Lucknow district. Under this scheme, a zoological park would be arranged in around 150 acres of open accessible unused forest land and the designated night safari in 350 acres without causing any disturbance to the eastern and western forest blocks of 2,027 hectares. And the good news is that the new zoological garden would be replacing the existing one in Lucknow – confirmed by Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh.

About The Safari And Zoological Park

With 13 day-safaris present across the country, this will be the First Night Safari in India that will be developed on the tunes of world’s first night safari at Singapore. At present the century-old Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden in Lucknow which is popularly known as Lucknow Zoo, is situated in a densely populated area called Narhi that is 12kms away from Kukrail Forest area which will eventually be shifted to Kukrail forest area. The intention behind moving the zoo from Narhi to Kukrail forest is to decongest the overcrowding of Narhi area because of the presence of a zoo.

75 acres in Kukrail would be dedicated to leopard and tiger each and 60 acres for wild bear and the wild animals would be kept in cattle grid under the starry sky, instead of cages with!! An open-air nocturnal zoo that would be accessible only in the night! But no need to get disappointed for tourists visiting during daytime – there would a theme park that would keep you entertained and occupied.

For the night safari and the zoo project, the open and unused area of Kukrail range is going to be utilized to ensure no impact on the existing flora and fauna. There are talks of channelizing the Kukrail river flowing through the forest and developing it into an attractive river front.

Activities That Will Be Offered At The Safari

Besides the availability of both train and jeep with local guides that will be provided for night safari, lots of activities would be offered to the tourist visiting the zoological garden. Construction of four-lane roads are on the agenda to make it convenient for the visitors to reach Kukrail Night safari.

Few of the adventure activities that are going to be offered at the forest area are listed below:

• Mountain bike track

• Wall climbing

• Canopy walk

• Mountaineering

• Tree-top restaurant

• Nature trail

• Food court

Reason For Setting Up The Night Safari and Shifting The Zoo

The development of the night safari project is primarily to boost eco-tourism in this area and also to create job opportunities for the local community. And as mentioned above the goal behind moving the zoo is to declutter the area of Narhi.

The prospect of the First Night Safari in India is thrilling!! With travel industry finally opening up after a lull of two years, its time to bring in state government's A-game to attract more tourists offering them unique experiences that were otherwise provided outside India. Now, it’s no more flying abroad but a matter of time until the Night Safari opens in Lucknow.

Govt to rope in consultant for India’s 1st night safari project

Having received clearance from the Central Zoo Authority for the country’s first night safari besides a zoological garden in the Kukrail forest reserve near Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to start the process of hiring a consultant to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for the project.

With an estimated cost of Rs 16,00 crore, the project got the state cabinet’s approval in April last year after the government decided to shift the existing zoo from the heart of the city to a larger area.

Of the 5,009 hectares of land the Kukrail reserve is spread over, the proposed park will come up on nearly 150 acres and the night safari on 350 acres.

The government’s objective is to complete the project by year-end without disturbing the existing forest cover as well as the crocodile breeding and turtle research centres much.

Manoj Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, said, “We have got the approval from the Central Zoo Authority and are going to speed up the project. The consultant will prepare a DPR on the basis of which a tender would be floated for developing the project.”

As how the project would be developed, Singh said while further planning would be based on the consultant’s report the government is planning to develop it on EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) mode.

Also, the project is likely to have a four-lane road surrounding separate tiger, leopard and bear safaris spread over 75, 75 and 60 acres each.

The idea is to develop the project into an eco-tourism spot with various facilities in a bid to attract tourists and boost the local economy. The consultant is also likely to draw a plan for eco-tourism activities like camping, forest walk and rock climbing etc, it is learnt.

India’s first night safari to come up in Lucknow

India’s first nocturnal zoo will be set up in Kukrail forest area as the Yogi Adityanath government has decided to set up a night safari and biodiversity park on the lines of Singapore in the state capital.  There are 13 day safaris in the country but no night safari.

The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at Lok Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Minister of Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh said the night safari would be developed in 350 acres in the Kukrail forest area, spread over 2027.46 hectares. The zoological park will be set up in 150 acres.

“Train and jeep rides with local guides will also be provided at the night safaris. Apart from this, facilities like canopy walk, camping activity, mountain bike track, wall climbing, tree-top restaurant, nature trail and food court will also be developed,” the minister said.

Singh said there are plans to make a leopard safari in 75 acres of land, bear safari in 60 acres area and tiger safari in 75 acres. The animals will not be kept in a cage but will roam free as they do in the wild.

“It will be an open-air nocturnal zoo which will be open only at night. A modern theme park will be built for tourists during the day. In setting up the zoological park and night safari, only open areas which are not currently in use will be used without impacting the existing flora and fauna. The Kukrail forest area will be connected to the outside world with four-lane roads so that there is no inconvenience to the tourists,” the tourism minister said.

He said a meeting would be held at the chairmanship of the chief secretary and the process would be decided soon. Kukrail river will be channelised and developed as an attractive riverfront. World-class facilities will be made available to tourists in the zoological garden and night safari, he added.

Shikhar Dhawan showed he still has enough motivation and fuel left in his tank with a 50-ball 70 and Jonny Bairstow shook off rust with a 29-ball 42, but none of their other stars managed to chip in in the steep chase. Liam Livingstone, who suffered a hamstring injury scare while fielding in the first innings, walked out to bat only in the 16th over. The England big-hitter was struggling to run between wickets because of the injury, but managed to send a few into the stands in the end overs to limit the damage on Punjab's Net Run Rate.
