An amazing store full of history

The owner's sister, a granddaughter of Minnie Peterson, told us some amazing stories about her adventures growing up in the area and about her grandmother, Minnie. The shop has great shirts and gifts. Walk in and ask about the pictures on the walls.

We stopped in here on our way to the rainforest and found our conversation with the generational pioneer owners to be the most interesting. The store was also jam packed with lots of great stuff and even cold drinks and snacks as well as their own books on the local history. A must for any itinerary.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. We stopped in with our autistic son to look around for ponchos before our hike. Our son was touching a display case and the cashier yelled No at him. Then again. When we realized what was happening, we explained why he couldn't touch it and apologized for it. To which she responded, "Yeah, it's bad enough I had to tell him morw than once." When I called to explain why he was oblivious to her, I didnt even allow her a chance to speak when she replied with a hateful tone and said "Mam, listen." I continued to explain why and told her I hoped she never treated another child like that again and blessed her. Such an unfortunate experience. That lady lives in a recreational state, light up and calm yourself down. If you cant handle working at a TOURIST shop, then find a new job. Needless to say. No money was spent there and I will never recommend this place to anyone.

After hiking the River Trail we stopped in to buy souvenirs. Unfortunately, the cashier was not wearing a mask so we left. So much for a statewide ordinance to protect us.

Having planned a trip to Hoh Rain Forest and verifying it was "closed", we happened by this gift shop and because it was open, we stopped by to give them some business and thank them for being open when most places were closed due to the pandemic and slow opening period of "phase 2". We were greeted by a very friendly lady who explained that they were doing OK through the challenges and had a pleasant conversation with her. The selection of clothing was great and prices were very reasonable highlighted that bottles of water and soft drinks were just $1. We were happy to get postcards and long sleeve t-shirts commemorating our trip at this small establishment. They offer rafting and other activities that hadn't opened yet, but we will be back to try those out at some point in the future due to the pleasant greeting and store atmosphere.

We stopped in here to check into our beautiful cabin 0.5 miles down the road. The owners are extremely nice and willing to answer questions about the area. It’s about 18 Miles from forks.

The Russian craze to make up for lost time!

Just like China , Russia wasn't a great consumer of chocolate until the turn of the 21st century. The land of the Tsars is now catching up at full speed, since Russians consume an average of 6 kg of chocolate each year. The outlook is positive because the annual increase is planned to be 0.8%.
