The Rocky Top Wine Trail is located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains and is comprised of five wineries offering over 70 unique varieties of wine to sample for free! Visitors pick up a Rocky Top Wine Trail Passport at their first stop and have it stamped at each location.  Not only is the trail 100% FREE to do, you will also receive a free gift at your third and final stop along the trail! Pro Tip:  Don’t plan to do them all in one day, make it a multi-day adventure!  Stop and enjoy lunch in between and take your time sampling the many different options available.  The wineries on the Trail are:

Unfortunately, if you forget your ID and are over 21 (+) years of age we will not be able to serve you. State law requires that a customer present a valid photo ID prior to sampling or purchasing alcohol in the state of TN.

Of course!  Anyone is welcome to visit with us and also tour our winery. We welcome families and friends of all ages – you simply must be 21 (+) years of age and present a valid photo ID to sample or purchase our products.

Our wines contain no gluten – however the yeast we use to ferment them comes from a source that does contain gluten so we cannot make the official claim that they are gluten free.  All of our wines are vegan friendly!

Yes! Our locations are now pet-friendly! We can’t wait to meet your four-legged friend!

At this time we do not accept reservations but it’s always nice to know you are planning to join us!  Feel free to call ahead if you are concerned about how busy we will be but we ensure you that you’ll get up to a bar – even during peak season.  Wait time typically never exceeds 15 minutes.

Experience the Gatlinburg Wine Trail at your own pace by going on a self-guided tour to our wineries and hard cider house – and get free gifts just for participating!

• Pick any winery you want to start – no need to make any reservations or call ahead, just come on in!
• Head to the bar for a free wine tasting
• After your tasting, you will be given a Passport by your server.
• At every winery you visit, present your Passport to your server. They’ll add a stamp next to their respective location.
• After you get 3 stamps, you will receive a free gift – and if you collect stamps from all 5 locations, you will get ANOTHER free gift.

No! Just hold onto your passport and jump back in any time you’d like – be it days, months, or even years!

The wineries are all located within 5 miles of each other, most along Parkway in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. We definitely recommend driving , although you could walk it if you’re feeling particularly adventurous!

You can only get the free gifts once a day, however, nothing is stopping you from revisiting a winery you love multiple times in one day.

All of our wineries will have Passports readily available for you, however, you are welcome to print one off prior to visiting.

How to Travel the Trail

There are two different ways you can travel along the trail. The first is going on a self-guided tour. You can start at any of the wineries and travel at your own pace. You can even split the tour between a few days! At the first winery you visit, ask one of the employees for a passport. Then as you go to each destination, they will stamp it for you. At the last winery, you will receive a free gift.

Each of the wineries along the Rocky Top Wine Trail specializes in different kinds of wine. You’ll have fun trying all the different kinds. Here are the wineries along the trail:

Apple Barn Winery

Apple Barn Cider House

The Apple Barn Cider House is also in the Apple Barn Village, but instead of wine, they have hard cider. They are also crafted on the property from the apples picked from the orchard. You’ll find a traditional apple cider, as well as a hops flavor, berry flavor, and muscadine.

Hillside Winery

Hillside Winery specializes in Italian wines. They take inspiration from the hills of Tuscany. This winery is located in Sevierville, and they partner with local grape farmers to use 856,000 pounds of grapes every year to make their wine. Some of their signature flavors include Black and Blue, Hillside Mist, and Sonata.

Mill Bridge Winery

Mill Bridge Winery is located at the Old Mill Square in Pigeon Forge. This small winery has a quaint feel, and you can taste wines on their patio overlooking the Little Pigeon River. They have food pairings to go with the wine, as well as wine slushies to help you cool off on hot days. Some of their flavors include Water Wheel, Summer Nights, and Little Pigeon.

Mountain Valley Winery

Hillside Winery brings the flavors of Tuscany to the Smoky Mountains! They specialize in Italian wines made from local grape farms. Every year, this winery crushes more than 856,000 pounds of grapes to make the wine. They have outdoor seating where you can enjoy tasting your wine. You can also purchase wine by the glass, and if you find one you really love, you can bring a whole bottle home!

Apple Barn Winery

Apple Barn Cider House

Right next door to Apple Barn Winery is the Apple Barn Cider House. The Cider House isn’t another winery; they actually sell hard cider and regular cider made from the apples grown in the orchard on the property. Some of the flavors they offer include South Cider, Berry Patch, Hop Zen, Sip Gingerly, and Cider House Blues.

Mountain Valley Winery

If you love sweet wines, then you need to visit Mountain Valley Winery. They specialize in sweet fruit wines, including flavors such as Rhubarb, Watermelon, and Red Velvet cake. Visit between 12 pm and 5 pm to get a tour of their facility to learn more about how they make their wine.

Mill Bridge Winery

Mountain Valley Winery is one of Tennessee’s oldest wineries, winning hundreds of awards for its incredible wines. From dry reds to sweet whites, they have something for everyone! One of the best sweet reds is Red Velvet, a rich medley of berry flavors intertwined with hints of dark cocoa and vanilla. 

Mill Bridge Winery 

Mill Bridge Winery is located in the Old Mill Historic District and offers both hard cider and wine. The outdoor patio allows you to enjoy the Little Pigeon River as you sip and relax. Our Tour Guide Randy was top-notch! He gave us some insider information, told us where the best local spots were (and which ones to avoid), and kept us supplied with cold water on a very hot day!! He wasn't in a hurry to get from place to place, and he took pictures for us at the prettiest spots. He's very researched, professional, and fun. I recommend this tour, and Randy especially, for everyone. It is totally worth the money!

Started the tour off with a tasting at the Apple Barn. Delicious!

We have done this tour 3 years in a row on our annual trips to Pigeon Forge. It's a fun way to taste local wines and purchase them if you like - but no one pressures you to buy anything. All 5 stops were great - friendly hosts, clean and fun locations with nice gift shops, and when you stop at the Apple Barn Winery and Cider Store you have the option of a great meal at the Apple Barm Farmhouse Restaurant. It's a fun event but you will definitely need a designated driver!

There’s more to Pigeon Forge than the neon lights that line the Parkway. Our little mountain retreat is home to a number of hidden attractions, with these little gems tucked away off the beaten path. Experiencing them is a unique way to recognize the Smoky Mountains’ rich heritage and take advantage of the regions’ exciting future. One of the best hidden gems in the Smoky Mountains is the Rocky Top Wine Trail . This adventure takes you to 5 wineries around the Smoky Mountains for tastings, passport stamps and eventually fun prizes.

About The Wine Trail

The Rocky Top Wine Trail includes 5 different wineries located around Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. These include Hillside Winery , the Apple Barn Winery the Apple Barn Cider House , Mountain Valley Winery and Mill Bridge Winery . Each winery gives visitors a chance to sip from a selection of more than 60 wines made from grapes and fruit rown on locally planted vines.

Completing The Tour

Those interested in completing the tour can begin at any winery on the list. You’ll receive a passport at your first stop, and can then collect stamps at each place visited. After collecting three stamps, you will receive a commemorative wine glass; those who visit all five wineries will earn another special surprise. Best of all, perhaps, is that the Rocky Top Wine Trail is completely free. There is no charge to obtain the wine passport, and each stop offers complimentary samples.

Learn From The Experts

All of the wineries are open year-round, seven days a week. Each stop on the tour gives you a chance to interact with experts. You’ll learn the whole story that comes with each sip: Where the fruit was grown, how the wine was aged, how to drink the wine, and you’ll even be able to sample some food pairings that help bring out the best flavor in each sip. The tour will also take you through some of the world’s most beautiful scenery, as the majestic Smoky Mountains provide the perfect backdrop at each stop.

Since launching in 1998, Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival (RMWFF) is one of Alberta’s largest and most beloved food & adult beverage events. RMWFF entices exhibitors and guests to travel to & explore our host cities, while they feast their taste buds at an elevated festival experience. Hundreds of exhibitors and over 20,000 guests travel from across Western Canada to discover and explore a variety of fine wines, premium spirits, and craft beers. Chefs from local restaurants are in attendance, serving up delicious fare to pair with the wonderful assortment of beverages.

Calling all wine enthusiasts and cheese connoisseurs! Indulge in the perfect pairing of our wines and cheeses along the Rocky Top Wine Trail on the limited-time Cheese and Wine Trail!

Your ticket grants you access to a signature cheese board, cheese samples, premium tastings, and 10% off all purchases. As you go through the trail, visit the participating wineries at your own pace – no reservations are necessary.
