SEVENTEEN is set to break ground this summer in the U.K., where they’ll become the first K-pop act to perform on Glastonbury Festival ’s main stage.

The five-day festival is set to take place June 26-30, 2024 at the Eavis’ Worthy Farm in Pilton, south-west England.

Trending on Billboard

The grandaddy of U.K. music festivals, Glastonbury, staged on Michael Eavis’ milk farm, will welcome more than 210,000 party-goers this summer, a mass of humanity that’s greater than the population of Norwich or Oxford. Tickets sold out before the lineup was announced Thursday .

Girl group Blackpink smashed through the barricades when, in 2023, they became the first ever K-pop band to headline a U.K. festival, performing for 65,000 spectators at London’s BST Hyde Park.

CARATs will also get a chance to see SEVENTEEN on Continental European soil, when the pop group headlines Lollapalooza Berlin later this summer– also a first for a K-pop act.

Set for Sept. 7-8 at Olympiastadion and Olympiapark in the German capital, Lollapalooza Berlin’s bill also features Sam Smith, Martin Garrix, Burna Boy, The Chainsmokers, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Shirin David and CRO.

The performances are pay-back, of sorts. SEVENTEEN slated to visit Europe during their ODE TO YOU WORLD TOUR in 2020, but those shows were scrapped due to the pandemic.

SEVENTEEN is coming off a banner year, during which the group shifted 16 million combined album units worldwide, including their 10th mini album FML (April 2023) and follow up SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN (October 2023).

SEVENTEEN Successfully Completes “Be The Sun” World Tour In 29 Countries

Great job and congratulations on the success of your world tour, seventeen.

Powerhouse K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN successfully wrapped up their concert tour Be The Sun, delighting hundreds of thousands of fans around the world.

seventeen world tour history

On December 28, the popular idol group held the final concert of their third world tour Be The Sun at Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. The performance on this day was a stadium-level performance that was added thanks to the explosive response of the fans.

In the performance that day, the group started with the stage of the team’s representative hit songs, followed by the performance team, vocal team, hip-hop team, and leader’s unit stages filled with the charm of each unit. In particular, they performed flawlessly on stages that continued without breaks, demonstrating the ability to dominate the stage, worthy of being the “representative runners of K-pop performance.”

Lastly, the group performed their proprietary encore stage and thrilled the audience. Together with the fans who filled the concert hall, they surfed with lightsticks and had photo time, creating unforgettable memories with the fans.

At the end of the concert, SEVENTEEN said, “Thank you to all the Carats. The long Be The Sun tour, time seems to have gone by really fast and I think it will be a memorable concert. Next year, we will prepare for better performances. I hope that Carats’ day will be a little happier than ours.”

As a result, the 13-member group held 29 concerts in 22 cities over six months, starting with the Seoul concert held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on June 25 and 26, followed by an arena tour in North America and Asia, a dome tour in Japan, and additional performances in Asia.

Everything to Know About K-Pop Group SEVENTEEN

seventeen world tour history

T hey were going full steam ahead in their world tour schedule, fresh off the North American leg of Ode to You and slated to perform in several more cities across Asia and Europe. But after their concert in Pasay, the Philippines, K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN canceled the remaining shows in February and March due to the coronavirus pandemic . Despite the change in plans, the 13-member group from South Korea still found ways to bring fans together. “Left & Right,” SEVENTEEN’s new title track from the latest album Heng:garae, created the perfect opportunity for a quarantine TikTok dance challenge. With an easy-to-learn chorus routine—choreographed by main dancer Hoshi and members of Team Same, a choreography team SEVENTEEN works with regularly—and a catchy refrain resonant of the Cupid Shuffle, “Left & Right” drew fans from around the world, and a large number of K-pop artists , to groove along .

Heng:garae ’s success did not stop there. The album—whose title is the Korean word for throwing someone into the air in celebration—sold more than one million physical copies in its first week, according to the music chart Hanteo . BTS is the only other Korean act to have surpassed this number with its first-week sales . Heng:garae now ranks third in all-time weekly album sales in South Korea, behind BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7 and Map of the Soul: Persona . SEVENTEEN’s path to this milestone—and, more broadly, to becoming one of the top K-pop groups internationally—has been a slow and steady rise since the act’s debut in 2015. The 13 members’ skills range from songwriting to choreographing in addition to their expertise in singing, rapping and dancing, hence establishing their strong reputation in the K-pop industry as self-producing idols.

In May, Big Hit Entertainment , home to BTS, became the largest shareholder of PLEDIS Entertainment, SEVENTEEN’s label. While PLEDIS is expected to retain its independence, the move has prompted SEVENTEEN’s fans to discuss what changes this might bring to the group.

Here is a primer on SEVENTEEN, including the background behind the group’s name, who’s who among the members and where to start with their music.

Why are they called SEVENTEEN?

The number is the sum of 13 members, the three sub-groups they break into and the one team they form when they all come together.

What are the sub-groups in SEVENTEEN?

In a group of this size, showcasing individual skills becomes challenging, as most three-to-four-minute songs are divided among 13 members. SEVENTEEN’s sub-group system helps solve this problem. The hip-hop unit (S. Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon), vocal unit (Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan) and performance unit (Hoshi, Jun, The8, Dino) specialize in rapping, singing and dancing, respectively. On most albums since 2015, the members record songs in these units in addition to recording as a whole group. Different combinations of the artists are regularly formed, including a “Leaders” unit —featuring the leaders of the three sub-groups—and the special unit BSS , consisting of comedic trio Seungkwan, DK and Hoshi.

What makes SEVENTEEN different from other groups?

SEVENTEEN has promoted itself as a self-producing group since debut. This does not mean that the members create their material entirely on their own, as they have repeatedly recognized the producers and choreographers with whom they work closely. Nevertheless, it is rare for K-pop acts to be so heavily involved in the direction of every album and performance, especially from inception. In the act’s first mini album in 2015, 17 Carat , vocalist Woozi contributed to the writing of all five tracks and Hoshi worked on the choreography for two songs, “Shining Diamond” and “Adore U.” Since then, both members have retained leading roles in their respective areas.

Over the past five years, Woozi has co-composed most of SEVENTEEN’s songs alongside PLEDIS’ in-house producer Bumzu, and takes on a directing role in the recording studio. Other members are frequent contributors to the music production, with the four rappers of the hip-hop team writing lyrics for their sub-unit’s tracks. By 2017, all members of SEVENTEEN had writing credits. And while Hoshi has co-choreographed most of SEVENTEEN’s title tracks to date, the other three members of the performance team regularly create choreography for their sub-unit’s songs and other projects.

SEVENTEEN also sets itself apart for being larger than most Korean idol groups. The size creates opportunities for visual storytelling through the act’s formation in performances. In the recent release “My My,” the artists’ moves paint the picture of main vocalist Seungkwan riding on a boat in the splashing sea. In the 2017 hit song “Don’t Wanna Cry,” their positioning creates the image of two members walking under street lamps. These scenes would be much more difficult, or impossible, for smaller groups to execute. Despite its large size, SEVENTEEN has also earned recognition as one of the most synchronized K-pop acts. The choreography video for “Don’t Wanna Cry,” for instance, shows all members dancing with extreme precision and near-perfect timing.

Who are the members of SEVENTEEN?

S.coups (full name: choi seungcheol), 24, unit: hip-hop team (leader).

The leader of both SEVENTEEN as a whole and the hip-hop unit, S.Coups shoulders the most responsibility. His leadership strength lies in his ability to find opportunities for all members to shine, sometimes by stepping back himself. With a stage name that combines “S” for the first letter in his name, Seungcheol, and “Coups” for “Coup d’état,” S.Coups has a dominating presence onstage as he raps and dances. Last November, PLEDIS announced that S.Coups would take a hiatus due to symptoms of anxiety. In the recent documentary SEVENTEEN: Hit the Road , which aired in May, he opens up about this experience. The oldest member has since returned, fully participating in the album promotions for Heng:garae and posting multiple messages of thanks to Carats —the name for the group’s fans—on the community platform WeVerse.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by SEVENTEEN (@saythename_17)

Jeonghan (Full Name: Yoon Jeonghan), 24

Unit: vocal team.

The vocalist with an airy voice, Jeonghan’s verses in SEVENTEEN’s songs are often soothing. He’s apparently self-aware when it comes to this quality, having started the live radio series “Glass of Warm Milk” on the streaming platform V Live in 2017. “When you drink a warm cup of milk and close your eyes, you go to sleep right away,” he said in the first show, expressing that he wants to help listeners fall asleep more easily. Jeonghan frequently provides a mischievous comic relief in the group’s variety show appearances, creating chaos in any setting from mafia games to mini quadricycle races .

Joshua (Full Name: Hong Jisoo), 24

Hailing from Los Angeles, Joshua moved to Korea as a teenager to become an idol. Although he is one of the group’s more soft-spoken personalities, Joshua takes on the unofficial roles of the translator and the spokesperson—along with fellow Korean-American Vernon—when SEVENTEEN is in the States. Joshua’s gentle voice is highlighted in the group’s tracks, and he also plays the guitar after being on the musical worship team when he attended church in the U.S. The vocalist carries an air of sophistication—he has introduced himself as “SEVENTEEN’s gentleman”—and hosts “Wine and Cheese” live broadcasts where he makes song recommendations.

Jun (Full Name: Wen Junhui), 24

Unit: performance team.

Born in Guangdong, China, Jun launched his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor. He starred in multiple TV series and films before joining SEVENTEEN. An animated performer, Jun is nimble with his body and displays a wide array of facial expressions. The singer released his solo single “Can You Sit By My Side” in 2018, and, beyond the group’s tracks, showcases his delicate voice in covers of Mandarin songs . Most recently, Jun and the group’s other Chinese member, The8, recorded Mandarin versions of songs from the soundtrack of the popular Korean drama “The King: Eternal Monarch.”

Hoshi (Full Name: Kwon Soonyoung), 24

Unit: performance team (leader).

The group’s main choreographer, Hoshi packs storytelling into complex dance moves. Beyond his choreographing expertise, he is a leader in SEVENTEEN’s performances with his explosive energy. His stage name, short for “tiger’s gaze” in Korean, is an apt description of the fierce intensity he exudes when performing. But the artist has effectively turned this persona into a meme. He constantly refers to himself as a tiger, wears clothes that feature tigers and poses with hands that imitate a tiger’s paws at any chance he gets—prompting his bandmates to repeatedly remind him in jest that he is, in fact, human.

Wonwoo (Full Name: Jeon Wonwoo), 24

Unit: hip-hop team.

Wonwoo’s deep-voiced rapping is easily recognizable across SEVENTEEN’s songs, and he has delivered a number of the impactful opening and closing parts in recent title tracks. Besides his hobbies as a reader and a gamer, Wonwoo has experience in video editing—he directed the 2018 music video for the group’s summery track “Holiday.” In Hit the Road, Wonwoo talks about feeling at home in the group although he has a more reserved personality. “I’m a very introverted person naturally, so I always felt I couldn’t fit in that well, anywhere, since I was young,” he said. “But in SEVENTEEN, I didn’t get any of that feeling.”

Woozi (Full Name: Lee Jihoon), 23

Unit: vocal team (leader).

Besides co-composing the majority of SEVENTEEN’s tracks, Woozi has written songs for a number of other Korean artists, from girl groups to soloists. With a background in classical music, he plays a range of instruments, including the piano, guitar, drums and clarinet . While behind-the-scenes clips of recording studio sessions highlight Woozi’s more serious side as he diligently fine-tunes every member’s part, the many SEVENTEEN reality shows from across the years show him at ease and frequently bursting into laughter at his bandmates’ antics.

DK (Full Name: Lee Seokmin), 23

DK, or Dokyeom, is known for his warm and rich voice as one of the group’s two main vocalists. Although he once shared doubts about this position on SEVENTEEN’s pre-debut reality show, DK has developed into a poised singer and a pillar of the act’s vocal performances. Outside of the group’s tracks, he often shares song covers that are recorded casually while sitting on the floor and strumming the guitar. In 2019 DK starred in the musical Xcalibur , playing the lead role of King Arthur in his first venture into theatrical acting. He is one of SEVENTEEN’s key mood-makers, with an enthusiastic and goofy character.

Mingyu (Full Name: Kim Mingyu), 23

Though Mingyu’s official role in SEVENTEEN is a rapper, he’s more of a renaissance man. His paintings were once showcased at “17’S CUT,” an exhibit celebrating the group’s third anniversary. The 6-foot-something member is often carrying a camera, and recently directed a music video for the track “Snap Shoot” for which he is credited in every role from Producer to Stylist. Beyond the arts, Mingyu has shown talent as a cook. When the members of SEVENTEEN became island castaways for one of the group’s variety shows, Mingyu deftly mastered tasks from gutting and cleaning fish to breading and frying chicken.

The8 (Full Name: Xu Minghao), 22

With years of experience in Wushu, or Chinese martial arts, and breakdancing, The8 is not only a lithe dancer but a specialist in flips and jumps like the butterfly kick. Hailing from Liaoning, China, The8—whose stage name comes from the number resembling the infinity symbol when laid sideways, as well as it being a lucky number in Chinese culture—is passionate about art and fashion . His canvas paintings make frequent appearances on SEVENTEEN’s social media accounts, and The8 painted the cover art for his two solo singles in Mandarin, “Dreams Come True” and “Falling Down” —both of which he co-composed.

Seungkwan (Full Name: Boo Seungkwan), 22

The main vocalist of the group along with DK, Seungkwan excels at steady song delivery in live performances . When he is not hitting high notes or competing with fellow members to hit the highest note , Seungkwan is busy being the group’s “variety king”—a nickname given to those in K-pop groups who have a knack for entertaining the audience. Always ready to poke fun at himself , the artist from Jeju Island has been a cast member of talk shows outside of SEVENTEEN’s own series. He was awarded the “Rookie Award for Music and Talk” at the 2018 MBC Entertainment Awards for his work in two shows.

Vernon (Full Name: Hansol Vernon Chwe), 22

Unit: hip-hop team.

Born in New York, Vernon moved to Korea when he was young and is fluent in both English and Korean. The rapper has an extensive list of songwriting credits across SEVENTEEN’s discography, participating in crafting the lyrics for multiple tracks as well as contributing to song composition—including “My My” on the latest album. Behind his laid-back nature is a quiet dedication to his craft. Hit the Road shows Vernon, after midnight, setting up his recording equipment and rapping in the solitude of a hotel room.

Dino (Full Name: Lee Chan), 21

Though he is the youngest member of the group, Dino has been one of its boldest performers. He does not miss a beat when prompted to dance in unfamiliar settings, and confidently busts out moves on the streets. Dino has played an active role in choreographing SEVENTEEN’s performances over the years, and notably created the six-person dance for the track “Flower.” In 2018 he started “Dino’s Danceology,” a series of routines he choreographs to songs by other artists. A standout is the video for Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker,” where Dino displays his trove of facial expressions and sharp moves as he dances by the beach.

Which variety shows help introduce the group to newcomers?

Variety shows are a key way for members of K-pop groups to show parts of their personalities that are often different from their onstage personas. To get started, SEVENTEEN PROJECT: Debut Big Plan is a reality series following the 13 members as they carry out missions in the final days leading up to their debut in May 2015. One Fine Day—13 Castaway Boys and One Fine Day in Japan —which aired in 2016 and 2017, respectively—test the members’ survival skills as they navigate life on an island in the former and complete assigned quests across Japan in the latter. The ongoing reality series GOING SEVENTEEN is a mix of games, challenges, behind-the-scenes moments and more edited into weekly episodes released on YouTube and V Live.

On a July 2020 episode of GOING SEVENTEEN modeled after America’s Got Talent , member Wonwoo sang two words from “Curry,” a Korean song released by musical duo Norazo in 2010 that has lyrics containing stereotypes about South Asian culture. The song has been played and performed in various Korean variety shows over the years. After fans expressed concerns about the insensitivity of “Curry” on social media (and pointed out that members DK and Vernon also sang lines from the song in a video from April 2020), one singer in Norazo posted an apology for the offense caused by the song. PLEDIS responded to TIME’s request for comment by saying it has no official statement regarding the incident.

Where should I start with their music?

SEVENTEEN’s title tracks are a good place to begin, as they span genres and set different moods. The dance-pop number “Left & Right” has the kind of simple, groovy hook that’s prime for a TikTok challenge, with melodies that add complexity. While the earlier works “Adore U” and “Very Nice” are SEVENTEEN canon, they are fresh and youthful anthems that contrast with the more introspective, emotional releases that have followed, such as “Don’t Wanna Cry” and “Thanks” .

For ballads, try “Smile Flower,” featuring all 13 members, or fan-favorites from the vocal unit like “Don’t Listen in Secret” and “Habit.” For hard-hitting performance-centric tracks with some of SEVENTEEN’s most demanding choreography, the dance practice videos of “Hit” and “Getting Closer” show the group pushing beyond physical limits.

Philippine Concerts

Concerts, gigs, live performances and other musical events, seventeen is our forever headliner: follow to bulacan marks historic first in philippine concert history, seventeen and philippine carats once again made their mark in philippine concert history as they wrote a new first with seventeen tour follow to bulacan .

When CARAT declared, “No matter where we go or who we meet, in the end, it’s SEVENTEEN,” they meant it wholeheartedly, and FOLLOW TO BULACAN was a monument to the steadfast love and support of the fandom who proudly colored the Philippine Sports Stadium last January 13 and 14 with colors of rose quartz and serenity—as in all the venues that saw SEVENTEEN on the Philippine concert stage since 2016.

The country was a witness to the growth of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino, and the Philippine Carats. They have come a long way since their two-day SEVENTEEN 1st Asia Tour 2016 Shining Diamond at The Theatre at Solaire, a 1,740-seat auditorium. Each time they visit the Philippines, they write a new chapter in the history of the local concert scene. Through BE THE SUN in Bulacan, they became the first K-Pop group to perform a solo show at the Philippine Arena, the largest indoor arena in the world, in 2022. Now, they’ve made history by being the first musical act to perform two consecutive shows at the Philippine Sports Stadium, as well as the first K-Pop group to perform in a stadium.

From the opening to the closing acts, SEVENTEEN once again dominated the Philippine concert stage. Their outstanding showmanship, enticing stage presence, endearing personalities, and love for their fans were all on display, and all of this was complemented by a visually spectacular stage production.

SEVENTEEN

Once again demonstrating the unrivaled high energy of the Philippine concert crowd, Carats gave fierce cheers as SEVENTEEN took the stage at the Philippine Sports Stadium. The highly-awaited FOLLOW TO BULACAN began with the blazing “Super” stage, one of the lead singles of South Korea’s best-selling album, FML . Then, the boy group performed “Don Quixote” for the first time in person and brought back “Clap” to the local concert stage.

The members—aside from leader S. Coups and Jeonghan, who were unable to attend the concert due to their current recovery from injuries—greeted the crowd with their trademark “Say the name, SEVENTEEN!” before individually saying hello to their fans (leading the horanghae “cult” membership renewal, in Hoshi’s case) and expressing how much they missed Philippine Carats. “We missed you, guys, so much! We’re glad to be back. From soundcheck and right now, you, guys, are crazy, honestly. We really love your energy. Let’s have fun tonight,” said Joshua. Astonished by the number of people in attendance and the unwavering enthusiasm of the crowd, the members devoted their introductions to expressing their gratitude for the support demonstrated by the large number of fans who attended.

“Let’s make fun memories tonight,” encouraged Philippine superstar Dino who reciprocated the loud cheers with a sample performance of his solo song, “Wait”. And in classic SEVENTEEN concert style, the members taught Carats a special chant for FOLLOW TOUR .

With everyone getting set to plunge back into the performances, SEVENTEEN unleashed their timeless hit song “Don’t Wanna Cry,” their pulsating lead single “F*ck My Life” from FML , and the powerful Director’s Cut title song “Thanks.” Carat bongs lit up the stadium, giving the space a starry night sky that complimented the stage lights and fireworks to perfection.

A SEVENTEEN concert is never complete without the unit stages. The vocal team’s Joshua, Woozi, DK, and Seungkwan signaled the beginning of the unit stages with “Dust” and “Pinwheel”. Warming the hearts and bringing tears to the audience’s eyes, the members concluded their performances with a tribute to Jeonghan: “Jeonghan- hyung , hanihae !” Wearing suits, the performance team’s Jun, Hoshi, The8, and Dino left fans speechless as they scorched the stage with a double dose of the much-missed “Highlight” and the eagerly awaited “I Don’t Understand But I Luv U.” The hip-hop team, tasked with capping the unit stages, did not let down, dazzling the audience with a blazing entrance in red and their scorching performances of “Back It Up” and “Fire”.

seventeen world tour history

The boys’ enjoyable parade of performances of “HOME;RUN,” “Left & Right,” and “BEAUTIFUL”—with the members’ lovely “Manila Carats” preceding every “beautiful” lyric and DK’s “Mahal ko kayo” towards the song’s end—kept the party going as they took Philippine Carats to the FOLLOW FESTIVAL . Amidst the loud and clear reverberating “쿵치팍치, 쿵쿵칞팍치, 예” throughout the stadium, the boy group also debuted their newest lead single, “God of Music,” on the Philippine concert stage. The Going SEVENTEEN theme song made a delightful cameo appearance on the local concert scene and concluded the act with smiles.

Sadly, after the unit stages, Seungkwan had to miss the remainder of the performance due to health issues. Even though he tried his hardest to keep up with the concert, the condition he has been experiencing since the morning has made it tough for him to take part in the remaining portions of it. Carats led Seungkwan’s singing parts and chanted his name to make sure he knew how much they loved him.

Carats were treated to a beautiful rendition of “April Shower” by SEVENTEEN, which was followed by a beautiful and touching rendition of “Kidult,” one of the concert’s most anticipated songs. The stadium came to a halt, soaking in the moment and letting the rush of emotions wash over them as DK delivered his high note flawlessly.

SEVENTEEN

The boys then gave strong and engrossing performances of “Anyone” and “Good to Me,” channeling SEVENTEEN racers. The audience was then treated to brief performances of songs not on the set list, like BSS’s “Fighting,” “Dar+ling,” “Mansae,” and “SOS.” With much excitement, Hoshi demonstrated the “SOS” challenge made by a Philippine Carat. Additionally, FOLLOW TO BULACAN had the honor of hosting the Philippine concert stage debut of Pi Cheolin, the peasant who became the CEO of BOMG, widely known as the alter ego of Philippine superstar Dino. The CEO, who recently performed as a rapper for the first time at the Golden Disc Awards, displayed his talents on his “Fighting” collaborative stage with MinSeokSoon.

The stage was set ablaze when “HOT” returned to take center stage. The breathtaking pyrotechnics show brought even more excitement to the already intense performance, making the Philippines’ fireworks capital well-represented.

SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN sang “Run to You,” “Together” in English, and “To You” as they made their way around the stadium on moving carts for the encore, getting closer to their Carats in each section. Wonwoo said, “It’s so nice to see your faces.”

Then, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Vernon, and Dino gave Carats their parting words, thanking the audience for coming to the show and enjoying themselves to the very end. Carats joined Hoshi in delivering his well-known goodbye speech, having also committed it to memory. The performance leader said, “Thank you.” “I’m really happy today because I am with Carats. Please don’t be sick and please stay healthy. I hope we can meet again. Thank you so much for today. Salamat po. ” Wonwoo said.

DK also expressed his gratitude for getting to perform in a stadium. The8 agreed, recalling their performances in the arena in 2022 and the one they are in now—a stadium filled with Carats. “We dreamed of performing on a bigger stage, in a stadium. Because of Carats, we achieved that dream. Mahal ko kayong lahat ,” he stated.

“It’s been such a long time since we last came here. We missed you so much, honestly. Every time we come here, your energy is amazing. We always have a great time with you, guys, so we wanted to be back. And, we’re back now. We came to such a big stadium because of you guys. Hopefully, today is a really great memory for you, guys. We’ll be back so don’t worry. Mahal ko kayo!” JOSHUA

Mingyu and Woozi shared their closing statements in Filipino, saying “mahal ko kayo” and vowing “babalik kami para sa inyo.” Vernon hailed the evening as an “amazing night.” “To perform in this huge stadium with all you guys here was such an amazing thing,” he stated. Reiterating Vernon’s words, Dino described performing in the stadium among Carats as an honor.

“Maraming salamat po! I want to express my gratitude in every different language to you, guys. Because of you, you gave me happy memories and allowed me to live happily every day. Thank you so much for having fun with us. Maraming salamat po!” JUN

Carats didn’t pass up the chance to show the members how much they are loved and appreciated by creating a banner project dedicated to their favorite boys, SEVENTEEN IS OUR FOREVER HEADLINER, as well as a birthday banner and song for Seungkwan.

With “HIT” and seemingly never-ending “Aju Nice”, SEVENTEEN and Carats jumped along to the music with the greatest fervor, feeling every second and every moment of the realization of a shared dream — to take on bigger stages together.

“You are our headliner, always!” DINO

SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN IS OUR FOREVER HEADLINER . History has been once again written by SEVENTEEN and Philippine Carats as the boy group makes their mark once again in Philippine concert history as the first musical act to hold a solo concert at the Philippine Sports Stadium with FOLLOW TO BULACAN . No matter where we go or who we meet, in the end, it’s SEVENTEEN . Indeed, Philippine Carats did, welcoming S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino to the Philippine concert stage every time, on every tour . SEVENTEEN’s every visit to the Philippines has become a new page of history written with their Philippine Carat proudly coloring every venue with rose quartz and serenity since 2016.

Wherever CARAT goes, SEVENTEEN will be there. See you again, Carats! And on every tour, SEVENTEEN never failed to make the Philippines a stop, returning to their Philippine Carats—from their first Asia tour, Shining Diamond , in 2016—the only two-day stop—to wrapping up their first world tour, Diamond Edge , in Manila in 2017, then Ideal Cut in 2018, becoming the last stop of Ode To You in 2020, reuniting in Be The Sun in Manila in 2022, making history at the Philippine Arena with Be The Sun in Bulacan that same year, and once more writing another first in Philippine concert history in 2024 with FOLLOW TO BULACAN .

Until the next “Say the Name, SEVENTEEN!” on the Philippine concert stage with S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino, and the Philippine Carats.

Seventeen will be first K-pop group to perform at famed Glastonbury Festival

Here's the latest K-pop news this week. Seventeen will become the first K-pop group to perform at Glastonbury Festival and BamBam will hold his solo world tour finale at Rajamangala National Stadium.

Seventeen to Perform at Glastonbury Festival

Seventeen will make history as they become the first K-pop act to perform at Glastonbury Festival, known as the world's largest greenfield music and performing arts festival. This year, the Glastonbury Festival will be held at Worthy Farm in England from June 26-30. Seventeen is set to play the Pyramid Stage, Glastonbury's famed main stage, alongside headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA.

Seventeen is a 13-member boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment. They are known for being a self-producing idol group since the members are involved in songwriting, music production and choreographing. Their music blends several genres including pop, synth-pop, R and B and hip-hop. Their chart toppers include Very Nice, Don't Wanna Cry, Ready To Love and Rock With You. In 2023, their album FML set the record as the biggest-selling release in the K-pop industry.

BamBam's Area 52 Finale

GOT7's BamBam wrapped up Area 52, his first solo world tour across Asia and South America last year. Unfortunately, the US leg of the tour had to be cancelled due to his ankle injury. Although he performed in Thailand over two days at the Thunder Dome as part of the tour, there are fans who missed his show.

Therefore, BamBam announced that "The 1st World Tour Encore [Area 52] in Bangkok", presented by Xiaomi, will take place at Rajamangala National Stadium on May 4. He will be joined by special guest Kang Seulgi, a talented female vocalist from Red Velvet. 2024 Masters odds, betting favorites: Scottie Scheffler leads with Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka among contenders

Will the best player in the world continue his hot streak, or is there value elsewhere on the masters odds board.

scottie-scheffler-players-tpc-r4-stare-g.jpg

The best time of the year has finally arrived. The 2024 Masters is here with the azaleas in full bloom and Augusta National as pristine as ever, so now, it's time for players to descend on the 18-hole masterpiece with dreams of donning the coveted green jacket come Sunday evening. Some may have better chances than others, but as it stands, every golfer in the field has a chance to make history of their own. Take a look at the Round 1 tee times and groupings set for the Masters this week.

Perhaps no one has a clearer path to victory this year than the 2022 champion, Scottie Scheffler. The world No. 1 has once again raced through the initial portion of the PGA Tour schedule eyeing his second green jacket in the last three years. Finishing T10 in his defense effort last year, Scheffler hopes a renewed confidence on the greens can lead him back to Butler Cabin. But he will need to fend off a number of big names, including a pair he has not seen on the golf course since the Ryder Cup.

LIV Golf's heaviest hitters in this field include the two men who duked it out on the final day in last year's tournament: Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka. Rahm is looking to become just the fourth man to successfully defend his green jacket -- the first since Tiger Woods in 2001-02 -- while Koepka, with a win, would catch Phil Mickelson, Nick Faldo and Lee Trevino with six major championships and inch one step closer to capturing the career grand slam.

Speaking of that slam, it can't be the Masters if Rory McIlroy's name is not discussed. Now in his 10th attempt to close out the ultimate achievement, McIlroy enters these Masters with mixed expectations. The same can be said for many of the game's best, including 2015 champion Jordan Spieth, two-time PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas, reigning FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland and a slew of others. And don't forget that some of the best amateurs in the world are set to take on Augusta National.

Check out CBS Sports' full slate of Masters picks and expert predictions , the nine golfers most likely to win the Masters , plus Kyle Porter's look at why repeating will be a tall task for reigning champion Jon Rahm .

Watch all four rounds of the 2024 Masters starting Thursday with  Masters Live  as we follow the best golfers in the world through Augusta National with  Featured Groups , check in at the famed  Amen Corner  and see leaders round the turn on  holes 15 & 16 . Watch live on  CBSSports.com , the  CBS Sports App  and  Paramount+ .

2024 Masters odds

The favorite.

  • Scottie Scheffler: 4-1

Scheffler finds himself in uncharted territory with the shortest odds to win any major since Tiger Woods in 2013. While the comparisons to the 15-time major champion may rub some the wrong way, Scheffler's short price is warranted. He arrives at Augusta National as the clear cut world No. 1 with an ideal runway of two wins and a runner-up result in his last three tournaments. The 2022 champion has yet to finish outside the top 20 in four Masters appearances and has factored on the major stage more often than not since slipping on the green jacket.

Other favorites

  • Rory McIlroy: 11-1
  • Jon Rahm: 11-1
  • Xander Schauffele: 14-1
  • Brooks Koepka: 20-1
  • Hideki Matsuyama: 201
  • Jordan Spieth: 22-1

This group of golfers has combined for 15 major championships and three Masters titles, but it is the one with the goose egg next to his name who may have the best chance to win this year. Schauffele enters the Masters as the second-best player in the world from a statistical standpoint and with plenty of form in tow. Collecting six top 10s in eight starts this season, Schauffele has flashed on the big stage at the Genesis Invitational and Players Championship to no avail. There's a chance he took those close calls personally and finally rights these wrongs at a place where he found himself in contention in 2019 and 2021. While Schauffele's price has shortened over the last few days, that of McIlroy, Koepka, Matsuyama and Spieth has gotten longer.

  • Joaquin Niemann: 28-1
  • Ludvig Åberg: 33-1
  • Bryson DeChambeau: 35-1
  • Viktor Hovland: 35-1
  • Patrick Cantlay: 40-1
  • Will Zalatoris: 40-1
  • Tony Finau: 40-1
  • Wyndham Clark: 40-1
  • Matt Fitzpatrick: 40-1
  • Justin Thomas: 45-1
  • Dustin Johnson: 45-1

This year's Masters may be the best opportunity in the last 45 years for a debutant to win -- a streak that has lasted since Fuzzy Zoeller broke through in the 1979 Masters. Not only will a reigning major champion, Clark, be among those to make his first Masters start, but so will one of the brightest young talents in the game in Åberg. Clark arrives at Augusta National with a win at Pebble Beach and a pair of runners-up to his name, while Åberg looks like a certified top-10 player in the world. The Swede will also have a chance to become the first player since Keegan Bradley in 2011 to win in his major debut.

Everyone except three players in this group has seen an uptick compared to their Monday price with those being DeChambeau, Finau and Fitzpatrick. Clark has ballooned from 28-1 to 40-1 while Thomas has gone from 35-1 to 45-1.

  • Tommy Fleetwood: 50-1
  • Collin Morikawa: 50-1
  • Cameron Smith: 55-1
  • Shane Lowry: 55-1
  • Cameron Young: 55-1
  • Sahith Theegala: 55-1
  • Tyrrell Hatton: 60-1
  • Russell Henley: 65-1
  • Si Woo Kim: 65-1
  • Max Homa: 65-1
  • Corey Conners: 70-1
  • Brian Harman: 75-1
  • Jason Day: 75-1
  • Sam Burns: 80-1
  • Patrick Reed: 80-1
  • Adam Scott: 80-1
  • Min Woo Lee: 100-1
  • Akshay Bhatia: 100-1
  • Byeong Hun An: 110-1
  • Denny McCarthy: 110-1
  • Sergio Garcia: 120-1
  • Sungjae Im: 120-1
  • Tiger Woods: 150-1
  • Justin Rose: 150-1
  • Chris Kirk: 170-1
  • Rickie Fowler: 170-1
  • Tom Kim: 170-1
  • Harris English: 170-1
  • Stephan Jaeger: 170-1

There are a number of interesting names listed among those north of 100-1, including last year's runner-up. Mickelson hasn't had much form on the LIV Golf circuit, but that didn't stop him from shooting a final-round 65 and finishing behind only one man in last year's tournament. His magic can never be doubted at Augusta National, and the same goes for Woods. Tiger hasn't been seen since his withdrawal from the Genesis Invitational, but he still has a tournament record in his sights. Tying Fred Couples and Gary Players with 23 straight made cuts at the Masters in 2023, Woods hopes to grab it all on his own this year (and hopefully play four rounds unlike last year).

  • Adrian Meronk: 200-1
  • Kurt Kitayama: 220-1
  • Erik van Rooyen: 220-1
  • Austin Eckroat: 220-1
  • Keegan Bradley: 220-1
  • Sepp Straka: 220-1
  • Thorbjorn Olesen: 250-1
  • Nick Taylor: 250-1
  • Nicolai Hojgaard: 250-1
  • Phil Mickelson: 270-1
  • Adam Hadwin: 270-1
  • Matthieu Pavon: 270-1
  • Jake Knapp: 300-1
  • Eric Cole: 300-1
  • Taylor Moore: 300-1
  • Ryan Fox: 300-1
  • Emiliano Grillo: 300-1

I’ve always said that, if every tournament played out like the Masters, I probably wouldn’t have a job. On the list of the predictable, it’s at the top, and you don’t need me for that. As a result, and selfishly, it’s one of those weeks that always feels like it’s going to set up for me to be more of a fan than a confidant.

Every once in a while, however, something strange happens, as it did on Tuesday during Ludvig Åberg’s meeting with the media at Augusta National Golf Club. Here’s the exchange:

QUESTION: “One of the stats that is thrown around a lot at the Masters is the fact that none of the first-timers have won since 1979 when Fuzzy [Zoeller] did it. Do you pay any attention to stats like that?”

ÅBERG: “I actually didn't know that stat up until just now, so I guess not. But, yeah, I mean, I think that speaks to the difficulty of the golf course and the difficulty of some of the things that you might get thrown at you in the tournament. But I can't really do a whole lot about that.”

Credit Åberg for his honesty, and you don’t know until you know, but to acknowledge learning what we already did while at that podium still is a “Huh?!” moment about the Masters.

Åberg is one of 20 debutants in the field, so the beauty of this realization is that, in his preparation to win a major in his major debut, he wasn’t saddled with even an ounce of the weight of that history, and he made it clear that he doesn’t care about it now.

That said, and in addition to a critical detail concerning his health as the Power Rankings Wild Card below, the advice hasn’t changed. Respect history and swerve around first-timers in your bank of units dedicated to outrights.

Thursday morning will not be any fun. Wind, rain and the possibility of storms will be the story. If there was a betting prop for a delay, the odds would be pretty short.

After the worst of it passes, it’ll stay gusty. At Augusta National, which is decently protected because of its terrain, it means that swirls will be even more confounding. The weekend is measurably better for scoring by comparison with only occasional pushes. Sunday easily will be the warmest day of the tournament.

The takeaway is simple. Even if there’s a lengthy delay, do not expect any bogey-free scores in the first round. If there’s a score in the 60s, it’ll be likely occur because of the timing of when it’s posted, which could emerge from a late group if any don’t finish until Friday morning when conditions improve. So, if you shop for first-round leaders, consider focusing on the bottom of the tee sheet for your horse.

Power Rankings Wild Card

Ludvig Åberg (+300 = Miss the Cut) … The 24-year-old Swede finished the Valero Texas Open with a 1-over 73, his highest score on the easiest day en route to a T14. He also played through a sore knee that he acknowledged to Swedish-language media on Monday, adding that it has flared up before and he doesn’t know why. It limited him to chipping and putting on Monday at Augusta National, but he was scheduled to play nine holes after his presser on Tuesday. He decided against participating in the Par 3 Contest, perhaps entirely to rest the leg.

It’s important to note that he was at Augusta National the week before Valero, so it’s not like he’s cramming for his first exam, but it’s also fair to wonder if he’d play at all if it the Masters wasn’t a major. That he’s been transparent could be an indication that it’s no big deal. Not all professional athletes are uncomfortable in disclosing even the slightest thing that could attract any analysis, criticism and the like, but he hasn’t been a professional athlete for very long, so the jury is still out on how this dynamic relates to him.

The verdict here is one of caution. If Augusta National didn’t generate as many uneven lies as it does, perhaps my expectation would be higher. However, given that he’s playing in his first Masters and hasn’t been challenged to hit any shots that matter, and now he’s dealing with a physical issue that might introduce uncommon thoughts or even doubt as it concerns his swing, the course could be relentless no matter his pedigree, talent and everything else that he’s showcased since splashing onto the scene last year.

Other notables

Tiger Woods (-135 = Miss the Cut) … I’m genuinely surprised that there’s a market for this bet, but it also feels like a loss leader, and that’s OK because casual bettors won’t be leaning into it, anyway. They want to see him set the all-time record of 24 consecutive cuts made in the tournament. A better prop would be a yes-no option for him completing 36 holes. Given the pure physical challenge of walking Augusta National, it’d seem like even money as a line would be appropriate.

Viktor Hovland (+275 = Miss the Cut) … He hasn’t whiffed since the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open, he’s 4-for-4 at the Masters and the cut is favorable for all headliners to play the weekend, but the 2023 FedExCup champion arrives in a bit of disarray as it concerns his full swings. The short story is that every professional golfer experiences a moment when things aren’t coming as naturally or comfortably as what got them there. He’s in that cloud now. His statistics are reflective of only five starts but they’re not impressive, especially his go-to weapons from tee to green. The ultimate irony is if his improved touch around the green bails him out.

Min Woo Lee … Acknowledged on Tuesday that he broke the ring finger on his right hand on March 30. It occurred when he dropped a dumbbell on it. He started hitting drivers on April 5, and has been amazed at how rapidly it’s seemed to be healing, but he also has been battling the flu – so, as the kids say, it’s been a lot. The 25-year-old Aussie is in his third start but angles in as a contrarian due to the maladies. The bet would be to miss the cut, but he’s not among the plethora of options for that result at BetMGM, and that’s understandable.

NOTE: Not everything needs a setup. For a variety of reasons, these lines are too enticing to ignore.

  • PARLAY: Jason Day, Tyrrell Hatton and Patrick Reed (+140 = All to Make the Cut)
  • PARLAY: Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele (+400 = Both Finish Inside the Top 10)
  • PARLAY: Shane Lowry and Sahith Theegala (+375 = Both Finish Inside the Top 20)
  • PARLAY: Corey Conners, Brian Harman and Patrick Reed (+170 = All Finish Inside the Top 40)
  • Rickie Fowler (+130 = Miss the Cut)
  • Zach Johnson (+220 = Top 40)
  • Christo Lamprecht (+150 = Top Amateur)
  • Thorbjørn Olesen (+600 = Top Scandinavian)

Returning to competition

Danny Willett … The 2016 Masters champion has done everything he can not to miss this one. He had surgery for a tear in his left shoulder last September and hasn’t competed anywhere since. Depending on how he’s feeling before his tee time in Group 3 (of 30), he still might be able to give it a go, but even if he does, let him go it alone. The Englishman is fully exempt on the PGA TOUR through this season, so he’d be in position for a medical extension in 2025, if necessary. It’s important to note that there are no alternates for the Masters, so qualifiers aren’t “taking spots from others.” Not that guilt over something like that in another situation ever has merit, but it’s never a thought for everyone who’s eligible for the Masters.

Notable WDs

Bernhard Langer … Every winner of the Masters is rewarded with a lifetime exemption into the tournament, so many former champions technically qualify under the category, “Did Not Play.” The difference concerning the two-time winner from Germany is that the 2024 edition was going to be his last. And then he tore his left Achilles tendon playing pickleball earlier this year. He had surgery for it a little over two months ago. After last year’s Masters, the 66-year-old won his 46th tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions to set the circuit’s all-time high for career victories. It was the U.S. Senior Open Championship, so he’s exempt into the U.S. Open in June . If he’s able, it’ll be his 21st start in that major and first since 2005.
