Where can you get tickets?

Tickets for the North American leg of the tour will be available through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb 6, with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, according to a Live Nation press release.

Verified Fan registration is now open. Once you register, you'll be placed in a lottery system that determines which fans get invited to purchase tickets. Registration alone doesn't guarantee tickets. If you're selected, you'll get an access code the day before tickets go on sale. Everyone else will be placed on a waitlist. According to Live Nation, this process is intended to help Ticketmaster weed out the resellers and verify your account so that actual fans get priority to buy tickets.

Citi cardmembers will have a special Citi Presale after the Verified Fan process. Get more details here . Verizon will also offer an exclusive presale through their customer loyalty program Verizon Up .

Will Beyoncé be using Ticketmaster like Taylor Swift to sell tickets?

Yes, but given what happened with Taylor Swift's Eras tour (and the fact it led to Congressional hearings about Ticketmaster ’s practices), it seems very likely both Beyoncé and Ticketmaster would want to avoid repeating that mess. That most likely explains the usage of the Verified Fan system.

Where will Beyoncé be playing?

The Renaissance World Tour will hit 40 cities in North America and across Europe. Stops include Paris, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and many more.

What has Beyoncé said about the Renaissance World Tour?

She just announced it was happening with a post on February 1. Her website didn't immediately contain any more details. But during the Wearable Art Gala in October 2022, she appeared to confirm it would start this summer, as a backstage tour with her mother Tina Lawson was up for auction at the event.

Will Beyoncé be performing at the Grammys (on February 5) and sharing more tour details there?

Not clear yet, but she is the most nominated artist at the ceremony . On January 21, Variety reported that “ talks with show producers are ongoing for a possible onstage appearance ” by Beyoncé.

What can we expect from the tour on stage?

Beyoncé hasn't shared that yet either, but given the artistry she put into her recent Dubai show , it's fair to say we can expect no less than excellence, elaborate costumes, and an incredible experience.

This post will be updated the moment more detail is released.

beyonce dubai performance

As expected, Beyoncé has announced a 2023 world tour on Instagram, supporting her multiple-Grammy-nominated 2022 album, “Renaissance.” She also released the dates and cities on her official website.

The timing of the announcement, which comes just days before the Grammy Awards on Sunday, sparks speculation that the singer may perform or at least appear on the show. Beyoncé is the most nominated artist for the awards with nine, all related to “ Renaissance .” Sources tell Variety that her husband Jay-Z will perform with DJ Khaled on the show, most likely their nominated song “God Did.”

Popular on Variety

Beyoncé has said that “Renaissance” is a three-part project, so it’s possible that the next parts could be another album, a long-form video project or even the tour itself.

Beyoncé’s last full tour was the nearly six-month, 49-date “Formation” tour in 2016, which unusually featured no guest appearances until the final show, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, where she brought out Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

She did, however, stage an epochal “Homecoming” headlining performance at the 2018 Coachella festival — which was postponed from 2017 due to the birth of her and Jay’s twins — for which she was accompanied by a full marching band in a nod to historically Black colleges and universities. That blockbuster performance was later released as the “Homecoming” album and — via a three-project deal with Netflix that sources tell Variety is worth $60 million — a feature-length documentary. It seems possible that a future “Renaissance” video project could be part of that deal as well.

Taylor Swift Likes Post of Kansas City Chiefs' New Draft Pick

See latest videos, charts and news

The announcement photo may look familiar to fans, as she donned the same glittery attire on the cover of her seventh studio album. Bey also added “Renaissance World Tour” on her Instagram bio, further accenting the news. Last week, Beyonce performed a full concert for the first time in four years at a luxury resort in Dubai in front of influencers and journalists. The 19-song set included a collaboration with her oldest daughter Blue Ivy as the two performed “Brown Skin Girl,” which earned them a Grammy two years ago for best music video.

Crowned a triumphant win by music lovers, Renaissance stormed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year and rattled off two Hot 100 top 10 hits, including her chart-topper “Break My Soul.” The dance-centric album also notched nine Grammy nominations, the most for any nominee for this year’s ceremony. Bey is looking to rack up more trophy wins, as she currently sits at a staggering 28 wins. Nominated for album of the year, song, and record of the year, Bey is facing some stout competition , especially in the former. The R&B juggernaut will tango against Adele, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and more for album of the year. A win in this category would serve as Beyonce’s first. The 65th Grammy Awards will occur Sunday night in Los Angeles at 8 pm EST.

Beyoncé returned to the stage for first time in four years in January

Last month, Beyoncé made her return to the stage and performed at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai. Despite the luxury experience, the singer left fans wanting more, as she did not perform any songs from "Renaissance," The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The invitation-only event marked her first concert in more than four years. She last performed at the  Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event in 2018.

Beyoncé dominates Grammy nominations

The singer's tour announcement comes days ahead of the Grammys where Beyoncé leads the 2023 lineup with nine nominations, including best dance/electronic album ("Renaissance"), best R&B performance ("Virgo’s Groove") and best traditional R&B performance ("Plastic Off the Sofa").

With 28 wins and 88 total career nominations, Beyoncé now ties her husband, rapper Jay-Z , for the most nominations in Grammy history. If Beyoncé picks up four or more awards this year, she will surpass the late Georg Solti for the most Grammy wins of all time. (The Hungarian-born conductor holds the record with 31.)

Beyoncé called out by Monica Lewinsky: over 'Partition' lyric after ableism controversy

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have got "to be the most intense power couple in the history of music," Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. Mason said after the nominations were revealed. "That’s music and Grammy royalty – that’s the royal family."

Their combined 176 nominations are "absolutely a testament to their talent, to their level of excellence, to their work ethic, to their level of greatness over a long period of time. I don’t even know what the next (leading) couple would be, but it’s not anywhere close.”

Beyoncé's 'Break My Soul.' Taylor Swift's 'Anti-Hero.'  These are the 10 best songs of 2022, ranked.

Beyoncé noticeably was not nominated in any of the music video categories for the Grammys, having not released any album visuals for "Renaissance" since its debut.

The Renaissance prevails as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter brings her worldwide tour experience to the big screen. “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” captures the superstar as a hands-on master of her craft. Running 2 hours and 48 minutes, the documentary concert film reveals a Beyoncé tour that is more than a concert: it’s a culture. “We are pretty much creating our own world,” Beyoncé said in the film.

The BeyHive, the name of Beyoncé’s fan base, wore their tour-inspired silver outfits and Beyoncé apparel to theaters. The movie, written, directed and produced by the superstar, grossed over $11.5 million on its opening day, Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo. It broke the record for the biggest post-Thanksgiving opening Friday of all time in the United States.

The film explores themes of freedom and liberation. Beyoncé meets the qualifications of an auteur, especially with artistic control over everything. She gives the world a glimpse into the making of her biggest tour yet. The film has been met with very positive reviews thus far, especially from her fans.

Aside from the BeyHive enjoying the glitz, glamor, and musical performances, the film exposes the difficulties and challenges of putting together a massive production. The movie provides viewers with the opportunity to experience the tour as if they were there and a chance for those who attended to relive it.  “It took four years to create the show; this tour is a machine,” said Beyoncé.

“Renaissance” reveals Beyoncé’s title as tour director, involved in every single part of the show’s process. The film paints Beyoncé as a visionary and perfectionist who spent a great amount of time striving for greatness, and who decided to pull back the curtains and unveil all the tireless work that goes into creating a stadium experience like this one.

“Everyone always wants the outcome but not the process and I love that she showcases that in the film,” said theatergoer Jennise Hall. She and two friends were excited for their Friday evening viewing. Hall thought the film was amazing and is grateful that Beyoncé’s artistry was accessible to fans like her who didn’t see the concert in person. “Like her or not, you have to respect the work ethic and the boss moves.”

Being the boss woman that she is, Beyoncé made sure the film included a power outage at one show during her song “Alien Superstar,” showcasing imperfections. “It’s the mental strength, the mental stability required to survive and to stay inspired, to stay focused on intention,” Beyoncé said. The level of focus her editing team possesses is apparent. The movie flawlessly exhibits the artistic continuity between Beyoncé, her dancers, and band over the course of 55 shows. She also included candid family moments featuring her parents, her husband Jay–Z, and their three children, Rumi, Sir and Blue Ivy Carter.

When Blue Ivy first took to the stage with her mother, she received negative comments about her dancing. Blue found liberation through practicing more, and as the film conveys, improved her dancing while the tour continued. “From now on, I’m just going to get better and better from where I am now and on the last show, I’m going to be dancing as hard as I possibly can,” said Blue Ivy in the film.

“She was ready to take back her power,” Beyoncé said about her daughter while the film transitioned meticulously from behind-the-scenes moments back to concert footage. “My ultimate goal is to create a space where everyone is free, and no one is judged.” Along with safe spaces, the superstar is no stranger to the essence of time. “Time is money, but money can’t buy you back lost time,” she said.

“I love how the concept of time is so important to her at this point in her life,” said Hall. “As we get older and more intentional, time is so valuable […] and Beyoncé has truly claimed her space in time.”

Beyoncé has allowed time to help her create this Renaissance culture movement that unlocked her freedom. She didn’t care about what made sense and aimed not to repeat her past work. “This album is all about fun and escapism,” she said. Beyoncé expressed that “Renaissance” was a great transfer of energy between herself and the crowd in the different stadiums. “It’s a cycle of pure love; I feel liberated.”

Beyoncé voiced feeling “full” at this stage in her 26 year-long music career. “I have nothing to prove to anyone at this point; I’ve allowed myself to just be free.”

Beyoncé has spent over two decades dominating the music industry. She is the most-awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 wins, and has sold 200 million albums worldwide, earning eight Billboard No. 1 hits. As a live performer, Beyoncé’s dynamic stage presence and choreography are unparalleled. Her iconic world tours, including two co-headlining tours with Jay-Z (On the Run Tour I and II), have grossed $767.3 million and sold 8.9 million tickets. In 2018, she became the first Black woman to headline Coachella, and her performance (dubbed “Beychella”) is considered one of the festival’s most memorable and record-breaking moments.

A breathtaking experience.

This concert was one of my all time favorites. I traveled from NY to Canada with my niece to see Bey and it was so worth it. It was easy to get into the stadium and we didn't have to wait on a long line. We were so close to the stage, we were able to see everything. Beyonce, of course, is an amazing performer. She engages her audience and leaves you amazed. Their was great video and sound effects and the music had you dancing and singing from the moment she started until the end. Great show!

An amazing experience

I loved it to the fullest, words can't even express the feeling I felt going to Renaissance tour at MetLife ❤️❤️❤️❤️Stadium, I also saw the Renaissance movie ❤️❤️❤️ and I'm waiting to actually own ot when it's available 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝Beyhive🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 4eva

Beyoncé is the greatest entertainer, she's truly 1 of 1. If one doesn't know the song that is being performed you will still be entertained. From the lights, choreography, singing, visuals, wardrobe, there will always be something that will catch your eye. Once Beyoncé hit the stage she is locked in with the audience. She gives it her all every show, she is fearless on that stage!! It’s a wonderful experience. She is a superstar!

Still in a high from this concert. Aug 03, 2023 the best day of my life !!!!!

Love’s her DINE

Went to the Renaissance concert last year on my birthday in July and I am still on a high. I miss it so much. Can’t wait for the Cowboy Carter concert!!!!!!

10/10 Experience

I went to the renaissance show in the club renaissance pit at a few shows and it was a true re-awakening. I was so proud of myself and her for creating a masterpiece.

From 00’s to now

I have been going to see Beyoncé since I was a kid in middle/high school in the early 00’s and she only gets better. I was a little metal kid who thought pop/rnb was awful and boring. If the concert didn’t have fake blood/gory theatrics/mosh pit I wasn’t interested. I saw Beyoncé and lost my mind!! Her sweat dripped on to me and I was actually excited 😂😂. She is one of the most iconic artists/performers of our time. Her stage presence is phenomenal!! Her voice angelic, angry, healing, powerful. You can’t help but be enveloped by her performance.

Beyonce will always out perform anyone! Not only does she deliver mind blowing vocals, but she also dances/interacts with the crowd in such a magical way. Her whole production from lighting, visuals, and costume is spectacular. You get your moneys worth every time. I appreciate her, her talent, and the art she shares with us. I will always be a beyhive boy!

Life Changing

I tell everyone this is probably the best performance I will ever see in my life.

Spectacular

Life altering show. So much joy and celebration. I can’t wait to see her again.

A clip of Beyoncé has gone viral on TikTok where she appears to show her frustration at crew members during her show in Amsterdam on Sunday (18 June).

The Texas-born pop star, 41, seemed to grow irritated when stage crew missed a cue to remove a set of stairs as she performed the final song of her set.

In several clips circulating online, she is seen singing “Summer Renaissance”, from her most recent album Renaissance, while straddling a silver horse prop.

One fan filmed her making frantic motions at the stairs with her left hand, at one point pushing the piece of furniture away herself with her hand. She also attempts to push the stairs with her foot.

She eventually mouths “Oh, my God!”, seemingly in the direction of the confused crew as they eventually realise what she wants them to do.

Fans of the star joked about the footage in the comments, fearing for the crew members facing Beyonce’s wrath.

“Somebody’s getting fired,” wrote one viewer, while another fan commented: “I need the post concert debrief meeting to be in the documentary.”

“He is me forgetting I’m supposed to be working just sitting watching Beyonce ,” a third posted, in reference to one of the crew members.

Renaissance is the superstar’s first solo tour since 2016 and shares the name of her 2022 dance-centric album, the success of which made Beyoncé the Grammy’s most decorated artist in history.

Beyoncé is making stops at more than 40 cities. During the tour, she has been wearing outfits created exclusively by Black designers during her Renaissance tour concert in Amsterdam.

Read The Independent ’s review of the Cardiff show here , in which Nicole Vassell wrote: “Over two-and-a-half hours, Beyoncé shows this Cardiff crowd that she is as sizzling as ever – only this time, she no longer has to go above and beyond to prove it.”

At Beyoncé’s London show, her husband Jay-Z was seen dancing in the VIP area, while the couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, performed with her mum onstage.

Blue Ivy has appeared at numerous other shows on the tour and, at an exclusive Beyoncé event in Dubai in January, she appeared in a surprise duet of “Brown Skin Girl”. Along with Blue Ivy, the singer and her husband have five-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir Carter.

The Renaissance tour will wrap up in New Orleans on 27 September.

AMC makes big distribution moves after Taylor Swift, Beyoncé wins

After the successes of Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé , AMC Theatres is making a bold decision.

Variety is reporting that the theater chain is going to further get into the distribution game. The chain has seen success as a distributor thanks to the aforementioned concert films. They appear to believe there’s even more room to grow.

They are expanding their team as they have hired Stephanie Terifay as the VP of Distribution. She previously worked with Fandango as a part of their integrated marketing team.

Additionally, AMC Theatres has promoted Kevin Arnold to VP of programming promotions and partnerships. This move was made effective immediately. Arnold has been with the company since 2011 and has continuously climbed the ladder. His role will now oversee “promotional strategies that aim to drive moviegoer engagement and increase ticket sales,” per Variety’s report.

“The remarkable success of AMC Theatres Distribution last fall opened an exciting  new business for AMC, and we are thrilled to have Stephanie Terifay’s expertise and enthusiasm build upon the brilliant leadership of Nikkole Denson-Randolph,” AMC’s chief content officer Elizabeth Frank said. “Through the addition of Stephania and the much-deserved elevation of Kevin Arnold, AMC Theatres Distribution is well positioned to continue to deliver exciting and compelling content to moviegoers at AMC and across the industry domestically and internationally.”

AMC’s success with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé

In the fall, AMC had huge hits including Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé. The concert films proved to be moneymakers, as the former film made over $260 million, the most ever by a concert film, and the latter made $43 million.

Both Swift and Beyoncè made unique moves. They went directly to the theater chain to distribute their films, forgoing a traditional studio to distribute the film. The bets clearly paid off, and it makes sense that AMC wants to capitalize on concert films’ popularity.

Sure, Swift’s film benefited from the “Eras” tour being the biggest of 2023. The tour is still going on, with Swift gearing up for a European leg ahead of her return to the United States.

There are plenty of other artists who will likely see the model Swift and Beyoncé took and attempt to find similar success.

The moves made by AMC are also unlikely to be exclusive to concert films. Don’t forget, AMC also distributed Kiss the Future. The documentary chronicled U2’s “Popmart” tour concert in Sarajevo in 1997. With names like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck backing it, it was a no-brainer for the theater chain to pick it up.

Perhaps independent films will begin going to the theater chain for distribution. Filmmaking is a risky business, as there is no such thing as guaranteed hits. AMC is opening new avenues for distribution and success.

Orange crush: Boats packed with revelers tour Amsterdam canals to celebrate the king's birthday

Decked in the national orange color, dancing to music, and eating orange-glazed pastries, many in the Netherlands are marking King’s Day, celebrating the monarch’s birthday who is enjoying a slight rise in popularity as per a national poll

AMSTERDAM -- Decked in the national orange color, dancing to music, and eating orange-glazed pastries, many in the Netherlands Saturday are marking King's Day, celebrating the birthday of their monarch who is enjoying a very slight rise in popularity as per a national poll.

As King Willem-Alexander celebrated his 57th birthday with his family in the northeastern city of Emmen, people across the country engaged in the traditional “free markets” held on that day, selling second-hand toys, books and other items. Others toured through the historic canals of the capital, Amsterdam as orange smoke from flares held aloft one boat drifted over vessels of all shapes and sizes jostling for space on a busy canal.

“Celebrating your birthday with your own family is the most beautiful thing you can experience. I'm very happy everybody is back,” Willem-Alexander told Dutch broadcaster NOS during a walkabout in Emmen, 190 kilometers (120 miles) northeast of the Dutch capital.

An annual poll published by the NOS for King’s Day showed Willem-Alexander’s popularity edging up very slightly since last year to 6.6 out of 10. His Argentine-born wife, Queen Maxima, scored 7.1 out of 10 in the poll of 1,015 people, conducted earlier this month.

The royals’ popularity took a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic after Willem-Alexander and his family went on vacation in Greece during a partial lockdown. The royals cut short their break amid national uproar and Willem-Alexander took the unusual step of issuing a video message to express his regret and contrition for the trip.

The king's three daughters, Amalia, Alexia and Ariane have all spent time out of the country recently — Ariane has been studying in Italy while Alexia has taken a gap year to travel. The eldest and heir to the Dutch throne, Amalia, also returned ahead of the king's birthday after being forced to leave her student accommodation in Amsterdam and move to Madrid following threats from the criminal underworld.

Amalia, 20, who is studying politics, psychology, law and economics at Amsterdam University, told NOS she was “extremely grateful to everybody who made it possible” for her to live in Spain, where she said she was able to enjoy more freedom than in the Netherlands.

But, she added: “I'm glad to be back.”

Bad Bunny’s Go-To Accessory Is Right on Trend

By Christian Allaire

Bad Bunny is currently on the road: The Puerto Rican rapper has embarked on his North American “Most Wanted” Tour. Last night, the star made his latest pitstop in Louisville, Kentucky—just two weeks before he will serve as a co-host at this year’s Met Gala in New York City, no less. As usual, Benito couldn’t resist bringing a strong fashion look to the stage. His cool take on suiting up included a fresh accessory that is right on trend.

What is this standout accessory, you may ask? A western-style bolo tie. Styled with a cropped double-breasted blazer and dress pants, Bad Bunny’s tailored look was punctuated by a gold and black bolo tie slipped underneath his white collared shirt. The choice is extremely current—partly because fashion is embracing the western look , and stars like Lana Del Rey and Beyoncé are going country. (Beyoncé has been wearing the jewelry style almost nonstop since she released Cowboy Carter , which saw the superstar step into a new era.)

A sleek bolo tie, however, is nothing new for Bad Bunny. The piece is one of his go-tos; he's been spotted wearing them everywhere from the stage to courtside with ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner. And we don’t blame him—worn with a crisp collar, a bolo is a cool, fresh alternative to a stuffy traditional tie. Now that two of the world’s biggest superstars—Bunny and Beyoncé— have given them a stamp of approval, something tells us it’s only a matter of time before they become a full-on global trend.
