La Nacelle est la plus haute plateforme d’observation de l’hémisphère occidental. De là, à 33 étages au-dessus du niveau d’observation principal et à 447 mètres (1465 pieds) au-dessus du sol, vous pouvez sentir la Tour osciller quand il vente.

Lors d’une journée ensoleillée, vous pouvez voir aussi loin que 160 kilomètres (100 milles), et ce, à partir de la Nacelle et jusqu’aux chutes Niagara et jusqu’à l’État de New York.

L’antenne au sommet de la Nacelle est plus longue qu’un terrain de football et elle est frappée par la foudre en moyenne 75 fois par année.

La Tour CN oscille dans le vent. À la hauteur de la Nacelle, elle peut osciller de près d’un demi-mètre (1,5 pied)! 

L’HAUT-DA CIEUX

L’organisation Guinness World Records reconnaît L’HAUT-DA CIEUX comme étant la plus haute promenade à l’extérieure du monde au sommet d’un bâtiment.

Le rebord de L’HAUT-DA CIEUX a seulement 1,5 mètre (5 pieds) de largeur.

Même si la promenade semble effrayante, vous aurez toujours les deux pieds sur un sol très solide : près de 50 tonnes métriques d’acier ont servi à créer L’HAUT-DA CIEUX.

La Tour CN n’est pas seulement une merveille architecturale, c’est aussi une merveille du monde culinaire. Elle abrite le Restaurant 360 de la Tour CN et son cellier en plein ciel. Le restaurant tire son nom de sa rotation complète qui offre une toile de fond spectaculaire et qui complète la cuisine pancanadienne au menu.

Après leur repas, les convives du Restaurant 360 peuvent se délecter de bien plus qu’un dessert, ils reçoivent aussi un accès gratuit au reste du niveau d'observation principal.

Le Restaurant 360 effectue une rotation complète toutes les 72 minutes, ce qui signifie que chaque invité voit Toronto sous tous ses angles.

Le Restaurant 360 est un chef de file en matière de durabilité. Ses produits de la mer sont certifiés par Ocean Wise et de nombreux ingrédients qu’il utilise proviennent de producteurs locaux de la région ontarienne.

À la sortie des ascenseurs rapides, au niveau d’observation principal, vous serez à 346 mètres (1136 pieds) au-dessus du sol. Nos parois vitrées en verre permettent aux visiteurs de toutes les tailles de voir le paysage urbain dans sa totalité, un décor idéal pour prendre des photos et créer des souvenirs inoubliables.

Nos parois vitrées sont très robustes : chaque paroi pèse près de la moitié d’une tonne métrique (988 livres) et mesure près de 7 centimètres (2,75 pouces) en épaisseur!

Une capsule temporelle a été encastrée dans le niveau d’observation principal. Cette capsule sera ouverte lors du 100e anniversaire de la Tour, en 2076. 

La technologie thermochromique du verre de nos parois vitrées s’adapte à la lumière du soleil, ce qui permet de prendre de belles photos autant le jour que la nuit.

Notre Niveau d'observation inférieur est partiellement rouvert pendant que nous mettons la touche finale à nos importants travaux de rénovation. Les visiteurs du Niveau inférieur d'observation peuvent visiter notre plancher de verre et découvrir en avant-première " Artmosphère ", notre nouvelle installation d'art immersive et interactive.

Notre Plancher de verre est assez solide pour supporter le poids de 35 orignaux, ou de plus de trois orques!

Chaque panneau mesure 6,3 centimètres (2,5 pouces) d’épaisseur et comprend une plaque de surface, quatre plaques de verre de 1,25 centimètre (0,5 pouce) d’épaisseur et une poche d’air pour l’isolation.

Lorsque la Tour a ouvert ses portes en 1994, le Plancher de verre original était le premier en son genre dans le monde. Notre nouveau Plancher de verre, qui a été terminé en 2018, a créé la version à « deux niveaux » dont vous pouvez faire l’expérience aujourd’hui.

Ascenseurs rapides

Nos ascenseurs rapides vous font passer du rez-de-chaussée au niveau d’observation principal en seulement 58 secondes, soit à une vitesse de 22 kilomètres à l’heure (15 milles à l’heure). Il se peut que vos oreilles se débouchent en raison du changement d’altitude et vous sentirez sans aucun doute votre cœur battre à toute vitesse, lorsque vous décollerez en direction du sommet de la ville.

En 2008, un plancher de verre a été installé dans les ascenseurs, afin de donner aux visiteurs une meilleure perception de la rapidité à laquelle ils montent jusqu’au sommet.

Les lumières DEL installées à l’extérieur de la Tour CN, du rez-de-chaussée jusqu’au sommet, s’illuminent chaque soir en l’honneur des moments culturels majeurs du Canada, d’organisations caritatives et d’enjeux particuliers. 

Les trois « pieds » de la Tour CN sont conçus pour s’effiler graduellement à mesure qu’ils se rapprochent du niveau d’observation principal, ce qui diminue le centre de gravité de la Tour et limite ainsi les effets du vent.

Pied de la tour

De retour sur terre, au pied de la Tour CN, vous pouvez acheter une boisson au restaurant Le Café. Laissez les enfants profiter de l'espace KidZone, équipé de meubles adaptés aux enfants et de consoles de jeux vidéo à écran tactile avec des jeux faciles à jouer et adaptés à toute la famille. Avant que vous ne partiez à la découverte du reste de la ville, prenez un moment pour explorer le terrain qui entoure la Tour CN, et n’oubliez pas de regarder vers le ciel! 

Dans le béton de la Tour, il y a des centaines de faisceaux de câbles d’acier qui ont été resserrés pour créer un « squelette » solide et souple.

Des bandes de cuivre sont réparties sur toute la Tour, afin que la décharge électrique de la foudre puisse s’y déplacer et se diffuser de façon sécuritaire dans le sol.

Le terrain sur lequel est construite la Tour CN est en fait une terre gagnée sur le lac Ontario! Auparavant, la rive de Toronto se situait tout juste au sud de la rue Front.

Ken Carson has announced the 2024 Chaos World Tour, an extensive run of dates that will bring the Atlanta rapper across North America and Europe. He’s hitting the road in support of his new album, A Great Chaos , which came out last October. Find the complete list of tour dates below.

The 2024 Chaos World Tour begins in Orlando, Florida, on July 8 and keeps Ken Carson on the road until October 5, where he ends the run in Prague, Czech Republic. Along the way, he’ll perform in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Paris, London, Berlin, and Milan, among other locales. News of the tour arrives on the heels of Carson’s new track “ Overseas .”
