best rugged camper trailers

With the ever-growing movement toward deeper backcountry adventures, the market for truly rugged camping trailers is stronger than ever. There are plenty of trailers that have been somewhat adapted for off-grid use. And, there are some that are designed specifically for rugged-duty in places and paths that don’t come close to resembling civilization or roads.

We’ve scoured the planet to bring you a collection of some of the toughest among rugged off-road and off-grid camping trailers. Each has its own character and design, but all feature equipment (often standard) that pushes them from the “adapted” category to a higher realm of serious terrain and severe climate management.

In addition to key ingredients such as upgraded off-road suspension systems, extra-sturdy frames, and bodies built from high-strength modern composite materials and metal (often aluminum) skeletons, these rugged trailers offer modern creature comforts. Comfortable bedding, roomy dining space, fully featured kitchens (some inside and out), and sophisticated electronic systems and climate control apparatus make them easy to live in.

Now, let’s dive right into the best off-road capable camper trailers out there.

All buttoned up, the Opus Camper OP15 offers a low profile for easy towing. Once parked and all opened up, it presents a spacious feel with large windows and a well-thought-out interior layout.

In addition to the master king bed are large bunk beds, and a full bathroom with shower, sink, and flush toilet. The dining area offers plush seating and an adjustable table.

The top box can be lowered onto the lower box to go from a tall and roomy 9 feet, 6 inches high (measured from the ground) in full campsite setup to a low-profile, easy-to-tow 6 feet, 11 inches. Add the beefy independent A-arm suspension system with dual air shocks and coil springs, and you have a rugged camping trailer with serious off-road travel abilities.

Buyer’s Guide: Off-Road Camper Trailer Basics

What makes a camping trailer rugged.

If you’re wondering what to look for when searching for the rugged off-road-capable camping trailer best suited for your brand of outdoor adventure, we have some recommendations.

Sturdy Construction

Much of the recreational vehicle industry builds camping and trailer bodies using a method referred to as “stick and tin.” This construction is similar to the wood framing of a home covered by aluminum. It’s fine for general use, but not the best choice for extreme terrain or weather conditions.

The better choices are those trailers with metal (usually aluminum) skeletons draped with modern composite sheeting. They can offer weight savings and better structural integrity.

Upgraded Suspension

Axle-less suspension systems like those made by Timbren are a first step up from the average trailer with beam axles beneath its coach. For the next step up, made to handle rough or dirt roads and remain smooth on the highway, independent suspension air-ride systems such as MORRryde produce are your entry ticket into the rugged trailer category.

Articulating Hitch

When browsing for a rugged camping trailer, you will often see the term “articulating hitch.” It’s a key piece of equipment. If it’s standard, great. If it’s an option, get it. An articulating hitch provides a revolving joint between the tow vehicle and the trailer that helps the trailer and its suspension system more easily navigate rough terrain.

Need-to-Know Trailer Talk

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): The maximum safe permissible weight for a trailer, including all cargo, fluids, LPG, and optional equipment.

Base, Dry, Tare, Unladen: You may see it expressed differently depending upon the manufacturer, but they mean the same thing — the total weight of a base-model trailer in standard equipment trim, with no cargo, fluids (freshwater), or LPG.

Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC): Sometimes referred to as Rated Cargo Load, is the maximum amount of cargo weight the trailer can safely hold. This includes everything you load (all gear food, bikes, etc.) into the trailer, full water tanks, filled propane tanks, and batteries.

Tongue or Hitch Weight: The manufacturer’s published tongue weights are established using base-model trailer weights. It should be between 10% and 15% of your trailer’s weight when fully loaded. More than 500 pounds of tongue weight can place stress on the rear suspension and adversely affect the steering and overall handling of anything less than a ¾ -ton or larger pickup truck.

A weight-distributing hitch can mitigate these problems by leveraging some weight off the hitch and back onto the axles. An easy way to accurately measure your trailer’s tongue weight is to use a drive-on public scale. See this Blue Ox guide to measuring tongue weight.

The Best Off-Road Camper Trailers For The Money

' width=

By: Ethan Brehm Published: Jun 27, 2023

Ranging from mere cargo storage with minimal camping accommodations to fully-livable campers, off-road trailers are a great option for overlanding adventures or even extended camping trips. Once you’ve reached your off-the-grid destinations, you can unhinge these units for a stationary home base while you head out exploring with your truck or SUV.

Gliding with the spirit of horse-drawn trailers of America’s past, these hitched campers predate, in a sense, gas-powered vehicles themselves — not to mention paved roads. Today’s trailers, however, are even more capable, with modern tech that lets them traverse rougher terrains and state-of-the-art amenities to make it so you won’t want to go back home. To help you navigate the competitive market, we’ve put together a guide to the best off-road trailers to tow for your next excursion.

What to look for in a camper trailer.

Weight: Before you make any trailer purchase, make sure you know the max payload of the vehicle that will be doing the towing. A heavier camper/trailer means that you will need to use more of your car or truck’s horsepower and, thus, use more gas along the way. It will also affect the ease in which you will be able to handle unpredictable terrain. Heavier loads don’t always perform better off-road, although there are some that can.

Ground Clearence: For an off-road camper, ground clearance is of supreme importance. If you’re planning on doing some overlapping as well, you’ll want maximum possible departure angles and enough room to traverse over higher water levels.

Sleep Space: Not everyone will want a camper you can sleep inside (some may prefer a rooftop tent instead), but if it’s in your budget, you might enjoy the comfort and warmth of interior sleeping spaces. However, campers will also be heavier than just low-profile trailers.

Storage: Chances are, if you’re traveling away from civilization for an extended period, you’ll be bringing a lot with you — at least enough to be prepared for any situation. That means you’ll need room to store those provisions. A good camper will have plenty of storage options, often both inside and outside.

Amenities: If you’re gone for days, if not weeks, at a time, you’ll want to have some extras to aid you on your journey. Some campers have full bathrooms, sizable kitchens, and even washing machines. Solar panels are another popular feature in today’s market. Know what you’d like to have along the way, and how much you want to stay connected to the comforts of your own home.

On the road, the Woolly Bear is lightweight and rides with a torsion axle suspension, electric brakes, and all-terrain tires.

  • Military-grade chassis
  • 360-degree lighting
  • Adaptive space

Optimal for lighter SUVs and Jeeps, Schutt Industries’ XVENTURE XV-3 is a solid entry-level, bare-bones camper option that’s compact but definitely tough. Built with an independent torsion axle, electric drum brakes, and a multi-axis max coupler hitch over a military-grade chassis, the XV-3 can easily handle rough terrain, while the slide-out kitchen, aluminum flip-up table, 360-degree lighting, and 22-gallon water system help ensure its livability on any adventure. Not to mention, the pop-up roof tent that hovers above the cargo bed is as durable as it is comfortable.

The departure angle on this thing is ridiculous at 40.7 degrees with an independent trailing arm suspension with a variable rate coil spring, a high-tensile steel chassis, and a RAPTOR-coated body.

  • Great off-road performance for a teardrop
  • Full-size sink and two-burner stove
  • 140W solar panel
  • Lots of room
  • Expensive for a teardrop

With the original Topo coming to an end after the 2022 production year, Escapod has found a more-than-adequate replacement. Built upon the idea of creating the ultimate off-road teardrop camper , the Topo2 is made from a single piece of composite fiberglass with a sturdy PET core constructed from recycled milk cartons. The brand’s own shock-in-spring Freeride Suspension System enables this unit to venture wherever it needs to go, while the living amenities ensure that you have everything you’ll need, including a full-size sink, a two-burner stove, a 140W Lightleaf solar panel, and extra room for a fridge add-on. What’s more, the array of modular shelving and storage doesn’t detract from the sleeping space, which can handle two adults comfortably.

travel 4x4 trailer

You’ll also benefit from solar power anywhere you go with the fixed 120W panel on the roof.

  • 12″ minimum ground clearance
  • Handles higher water levels well
  • Suspension system designed to match movement of front vehicle
  • Fridge doesn’t use solar power

Black Series has a wide range of rugged off-roaders, but the HQ17 does well to balance cost with performance. At 24ft in length, the HQ17 is the smallest model with four wheels, with room for two spare 265/75 R16 Good Ride M/T tires on the back. The minimum ground clearance on this trailer is almost 12” and the armored chassis makes it easier to cross higher water levels. Likewise, the two pairs of independent suspension systems are designed to match the movement of the vehicle in front. For luxurious living, you’ll find space for five people to sleep comfortably inside, as well as a bathroom and a sizable kitchen.

Length: 291.6” Weight: 6,062lbs Sleeps: 5

Both spacious and dynamic, these beastly campers sleep up to six and are totally customizable, with over 600W of solar power, several awning options, and even a washer/dryer add-on available.

Rig Roundup: 7 Best RVs for Going Off the Grid

It's worth researching a variety of trailers before choosing your next rig. Here are some of the best off-grid travel trailers on the market right now.

By Roadtrippers

Thanks to their mobility and self-contained nature, RVs are ideal for creating unforgettable adventures, even far from traditional campgrounds. Luckily there are many lightweight travel trailers specifically designed for off-grid RV excursions. And good news for your wallet—many of them can be towed with an SUV, so no truck purchase is required to tow your new trailer.

Important Features to Look for in Off-Grid RVs

If you want to leave the campground in your rearview mirror and head off the grid, it’s important to purchase an RV that’s designed for rugged terrain and boondocking conditions. Here are some features that will keep you safe and comfortable even while camping far from shore power and bathhouses.

12-Volt and Propane Appliances

When you can’t hook up to shore power, you’ll want your refrigerator, cooktop, oven, and TV to work on 12-volt batteries or propane gas. Avoid residential appliances as they will require a more robust energy draw.

Solar Prewiring or Manufacturer Solar Packages

If there is even a small possibility that you will add an aftermarket solar package, make sure you look for an RV that is prewired for solar. Better yet, find one that is prewired for an inverter as well, which will allow you to use 110-volt power even while boondocking. Many of the RV models featured in this roundup offer roof-mounted solar kits as optional upgrades. We highly recommend choosing the manufacturer packages when available.

Large Fresh Water Tanks

The size of your fresh water tank is an important consideration when camping off the grid. These tanks vary greatly in size from trailer to trailer, so make note of this feature when shopping. You’ll see that within this article’s featured RVs, the fresh water tanks are anywhere from eight gallons to 55 gallons, which is a large variance within the same class of travel trailer.

Large Gray Water and Black Water Tanks

The bigger your gray and black water tanks are, the longer you can use your sink, shower, and toilet without needing to dump them. Note that some travel trailers within this category won’t have any gray or black water tanks, some have combo tanks, and others have separate tanks that are up to 30 gallons each. Pick a model that suits your needs.

Robust Frames and Raised Axles

If you want to take your travel trailer down unpaved roads and over rugged terrain, make sure you look for solid framing and raised axles that provide plenty of ground clearance. Many trailers in this class also offer all-terrain tires as either standard or an optional upgrade.

Off-Grid Travel Trailers We Love

Does an off-grid trailer fit your lifestyle? These travel trailers are some of the best on the market and will make your next boondocking or off-roading adventure more comfortable.

A rugged black travel trailer with its awning out, parked on a sandy beach

inTech O-V-R Expedition Off-Grid Travel Trailer

The latest off-roading lineup from inTech makes off-grid adventures comfortable and spacious for the whole family. The O-V-R lineup offers three models, ranging from a toy hauler to the smaller, 5,200-pound Expedition travel trailer. When purchased with inTech’s off-grid package, this rig comes with 400 watts of solar power, a 200-amp hour lithium battery, and a 2,000-watt inverter charger.

The interior features a spacious U-shaped dinette, a full-size kitchen with a farmhouse sink, two twin-sized beds, an optional drop-down bunk bed, and a large wet bath. Plus, there’s plenty of storage space throughout, and the dinette can also be used for sleeping space.

Features and options we love for off-grid adventures:

Although this rig is equipped to take you to remote destinations, the interior provides all of the comforts that you’d expect from a travel trailer. Plus, with the optional drop-down bunk, you’ll have plenty of room to bring the kids along for your adventures.

A truck with the Lance Truck Camper on a lawn surrounded by trees and farmland

Lance Truck Camper

The 650 Truck Camper was designed by Lance for short-bed, half-ton trucks. The standard package offers ducted heat, a marine toilet, and pre-wiring for a solar panel. The three-way refrigerator and selection of 12-volt, USB, and 110-volt outlets will allow you to keep everything powered whether you’re hooked up at a campground or dry camping. If you’re just beginning your hunt for a truck camper, Lance has a helpful and detailed compatibility guide .

Think about adding the 100-watt solar panel and lithium battery if you plan to boondock, and the 19-inch, 12-volt TV if you still want to enjoy the creature comforts of home.

A product photo of the Airstream Basecamp set on a white background

Airstream Basecamp

The Basecamp trailer is designed to pair well with midsize SUVs that many off-road adventurers already own. Large wheels, side skirts, and wheel flares protect the camper from the gravel and debris on unpaved roads. There are four different floor plans available, ranging from 16 to 20 feet in length, and all versions include an onboard restroom with a toilet and shower. Goodyear tires and 12-volt tank heaters also come standard.

Buyers can upgrade to a 200-watt solar package. Get extra ground clearance with the Basecamp X-Package, which features a 3-inch lift, Goodyear Wrangler tires, and a raised hitch jack pad.

Product photo of the Jayco Jay Feather Micro on a white background

Jayco Jay Feather Micro

Introduced in 2021, the Jayco Jay Feather Micro lineup features four different floor plans designed to take you off the beaten path, while still providing a high level of comfort. The 166FBS has 16-inch diameter Goodyear tires with reinforced wheel wells and is prepped for roof-mounted solar power and prewired for an inverter. It also contains a 55-gallon fresh water tank. The JayPort external propane connection makes it easy to hook up the included 17-inch grill.

Features and options we love for off-grid adventures :

One optional solar power package includes a 200-watt solar panel and a 30-amp controller, and another adds the 1,800-watt inverter. Add a Thule roof rack system or bike storage rack if you like to travel with your toys.

Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX

The Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX trailer lineup consists of four different floor plans that range from 22 to 22.5 feet in length. The H172BH is particularly attractive to adventurous couples or small families, offering bunk beds and a large dinette with bed conversion.

At less than 22 feet long and less than 4,200 pounds in dry weight, the Micro Minnie FLX is easy to tow for most SUVs and Trucks.

Product photo of the Rockwood Geo Pro with its awning extended, on a white background

Rockwood Geo Pro

The Rockwood Geo Pro offers a wide range of floor plans, from a 15-foot travel trailer to a 20-foot toy hauler. The entire series comes equipped with 200-watt, roof-mounted solar panels and a 1,000-watt inverter. Most models offer a 12-volt TV, Teton All In One Wi-Fi Booster with LTE Prep and Antenna, and Showermiser water conservation system. The G15TB floor plan has rear twin-sized beds that can convert into a king-sized bed depending on what layout you need.

Buyers can add on Pro Rac mounting bars, a removable ladder, a second 200-watt solar panel, and a tongue-mount bike rack.

A rugged off-grid trailer with an outdoor kitchen and open awning

Palomino Pause Travel Trailer 20.3

While some details are yet to be released, this off-roading rig is already causing a stir. The Pause is perfect for solo travelers or couples looking to go off the beaten path. Ruggedly constructed with an aluminum frame; composite walls, flooring, and roofing; and independent suspension, this towable is built to handle all of the bumps and turns of an off-road adventure. The cozy, stylish interior comes with a spacious dry bath, a full-sized kitchen with bar seating, and a foldable queen-sized bed that’s perfectly placed under a large dual-pane window for stargazing. An integrated Garmin navigation system comes standard on all models, as does 200 watts of solar power, a 400-amp hour Lithium battery, and a 3,000-watt inverter charger.

The dry weight of this rig is expected to be nearly 7,000 pounds, and the anticipated MSRP is projected to be more than $100,000.

FEATURES AND OPTIONS WE LOVE FOR OFF-GRID ADVENTURES:

The Pause comes with an offboard air compressor for easy tire inflation and deflation, and the outdoor kitchen comes fully equipped with cooking space, storage, a sink, and a fridge. You can also upgrade your solar package to 1,000 watts.

A Note on Rig Specs

It’s important to pay close attention to specs when shopping for a travel trailer. Use the VIN (vehicle identification number) to find the towing capacity and payload capacity for your specific tow vehicle.

GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)

The maximum loaded weight of your trailer as determined by the manufacturer. You should never exceed this weight rating when your RV is stocked with all of your gear, propane, and fresh water.

UVR (Unloaded Vehicle Rating)

The weight of your trailer as manufactured with no cargo, propane, or water.

CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity)

This is the difference between your UVR and your GVWR, telling you how much weight you can safely add to your trailer. Pay close attention to the cargo carrying capacity if you intend to travel with a lot of gear.

Tongue Weight

This is the amount of weight pressing down on the hitch ball that is attached to your tow vehicle. It is extremely important to make sure that the tongue weight of a travel trailer does not exceed your tow vehicle’s payload capacity.

Off-Road Trailers

What started as a conversation in 2015 between founder Kevin Molick and his wife, Paula, has since skyrocketed into one of the top names in the world of Teardrop Trailers. Kevin and Paula were discussing their desire to get back out to camping and traveling their back yard of Colorado and the neighboring states but wanted to get away from the cold and discomfort of tent camping. Large pull-behind RVs or motor-homes just weren’t their style and after some searching, Kevin discovered the teardrop trailer and was instantly intrigued. The teardrop trailer seemed the perfect fit, it checked all of the boxes: light enough to pull with their Subaru Outback, the ability to park it as a base camp, comfort and warmth for sleeping, ample cooking space, and visually appealing. Our Handcrafted trailers are exceptionally easy to tow and built with quality craftsmanship which is evident in every detail from start to finish. Teardrop Trailers are quietly taking the RV world by storm. Our custom teardrop trailers offer overlanders comfortable sleeping quarters, as well as a functional, and beautiful rear galley kitchen. We offer a multitude of custom options for our lightweight teardrop trailers, including different off-road versions of the Classic and the Pika. Available in an array of colors, from vibrant to subdued, every trailer is hand built to order in our shop in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Trail Trailer:

Trail Trailer Logo

  • Designed for compatibility with passenger vehicles, this variant of the MOD trailer includes electric brakes and highway-rated wheels and tires. The inclusion of BFG A/T tires indicates a focus on durability and performance, particularly on asphalt and off-road conditions. The electric brakes add an extra layer of safety and control, essential for trailers towed by passenger vehicles, especially when navigating highways or dealing with heavier loads.
  • This model is a more compact version of the MOD trailer, tailored for small passenger vehicles. It features a highway-rated wheel and tire combination that is optimized for smaller vehicles, ensuring that the trailer does not overly burden the towing vehicle. Unlike the larger variant, this model does not include electric brakes. Its design is focused on simplicity and ease of use, making it a suitable choice for users who need a reliable trailer for lighter duties or less demanding terrains.
  • This version of the MOD trailer is tailored specifically for UTVs. It features SXS (Side by Side) wheels and tires, which are great for off-highway areas and trails around the property. This design element makes the trailer particularly suitable for national forest OHV trail usage, where the narrow terrain has a gated entry and maximum width requirements. The high ground clearance ensures that the trailer can handle rugged paths without getting stuck or damaged.

Overall, the MOD (Modular) Trailer range from Trail Trailer showcases a commitment to quality, versatility, and performance. Each model is designed with specific use cases in mind, ensuring that whether you’re off-roading with a UTV or cruising the highway with a passenger vehicle, there’s a MOD for you.

T-Mobile - Top US Network

We may earn a commission when you click links to retailers and purchase goods. More info.

Frequently roadtrippin’ people with an RV or who like to camp or are stilling clinging to #vanlife, T-Mobile has a new internet plan for you. Be warned, it is not cheap if you want unlimited data.

Called “T-Mobile Away,” this is an internet plan that costs $160 per month for access to unlimited data, includes a gateway device (that needs to be plugged in), allows for up to 64 device connections at a time, will keep you connected while in-motion, and uses all of T-Mobile’s 5G and 4G network. There’s also a $110 per month version that gets you 200GB of data. Both prices require autopay.

T-Mobile Away Internet

Who really is this plan for? T-Mobile really is suggesting it’s for “frequent travelers like RVers, campers and digital nomads.” As someone who isn’t a part of that crowd today, I don’t know what it’s like to need internet on the road 24-7. In the comparison above, I can see that there are several options to choose from, but T-Mobile is saying (of course) that it’s new Away plan is the best because of its feature set. I’ll let you decide, traveling friends.

The new plan goes live May 8.

Screen Rant

Park min-young’s time travel k-drama perfectly flips her most famous role 6 years later.

Park Min-young’s latest TV role, Marry My Husband's Ji-won, perfectly flips her most famous character from one of the best K-dramas of all time.

  • Marry My Husband flips Park Min-young's Secretary Kim role in a revenge-filled time travel story.
  • Ji-won escaped an abusive marriage after going back in time and decided to focus on her professional career.
  • Both shows involve second chances and reevaluating life priorities for the main characters.

Park Min-young’s character in the time travel K-drama Marry My Husband perfectly flipped her most famous role, Kim Mi-so from What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim . One of the most acclaimed actors of her generation, Park Min-young has starred in several successful shows. This includes hits like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Forecasting Love and Weather , the former of which is widely considered one of the best K-dramas of all time . Following a two-year hiatus from Korean dramas, Park Min-young recently starred in Marry My Husband , which ran from January 1 to February 20, 2024.

While shows like Her Prive Life and Forecasting Love and Weather were very well received, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim arguably remains Park Min-young’s most famous role six years later. Released in 2018, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim featured Park Min-young as Kim Mi-so, a highly efficient secretary who was now reconsidering her priorities. The show also starred Park Seo-joon as Young-joon , Mi-so’s boss. There are some interesting parallels between Marry My Husband and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim , especially when it comes to the differences between Park Min-young’s characters.

Park Min-young’s Marry My Husband Character Flips Her Secretary Kim Role

Kang ji-won has the opposite goal from kim mi-so.

In Marry My Husband , Park Min-young plays Kang Ji-won , who, at the start of the series, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. On the same day she received her diagnosis, Ji-won found out her husband was cheating on her with her best friend. Not only that, but the two of them were counting the days for Ji-won to die so that they could get the insurance money. To accelerate things, Ji-won’s husband tried to kill her once she found out about his affair. While Ji-won did tie in this timeline, she instantly woke up 10 years in the past.

Mi-so’s story was not as tragic as Ji-won’s, yet both of these characters realized there was something wrong with their lives and decided it was time to change.

Ji-won was mysteriously given the chance to rebuild her life in Marry My Husband , after which she decided not only to plot her revenge against her soon-to-be-husband but also to ditch everything that was hurting her. Ji-won built new friendships, stopped caring about pleasing everyone, and focused on her professional career instead of living for her fiancé. Ji-won regained control of her life after leaving an abusive marriage as part of a toxic family that also included an abusive mother-in-law. Her character arc in the time travel K-drama was the opposite of what Mi-so went through in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim .

In What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim , Park Min-young’s character is somewhat happy professionally but dreams of building a family and wants to focus more on her personal life. Secretary Kim had built an incredible reputation as the trustable, competent executive secretary of an important CEO, yet she was not fully happy. Mi-so was tired of being known as “Secretary Kim” and wanted to build a life outside of work. Mi-so’s story was not as tragic as Ji-won’s, yet both of these characters realized there was something wrong with their lives and decided it was time to change.

How Marry My Husband Is Different From What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

Marry my husband was about ji-won finding her strength.

Marry My Husband and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim play with some similar tropes , including but not limited to romance at the workplace. That said, they are very different shows with very different tones. Marry My Husband adds a supernatural element to a classic tale of revenge, with the time travel aspect of the story setting the narrative for Kang Ji-won’s journey. Most of the show is told from the perspective of Ji-won, allowing viewers to connect with her as her plan for revenge progresses. Most Marry My Husband characters are oblivious to Ji-won’s secret, except for her boss, Ji-hyuk.

Marry My Husband Ending Explained: Does Ji-won Find Happiness?

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim , on the other hand, tells its story from the perspective of Park Min-young and Park Seo-joon’s characters . It becomes clear right from episode 1 that Secretary Kim and Young-joon have feelings for each other and might become a couple. From then on, the show explores how Mi-so’s decision to leave her job affects not only her life but also her boss’ life. Their pasts are slowly revealed as the show progresses, with audiences learning that their connection is deeper than anyone imagined. Compared to Marry My Husband ’s time travel plot , What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim is more grounded.

Marry My Husband & What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim Do Have Things In Common

Both k-dramas were about second chances.

Despite the differences between What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim ’s Mi-so and Marry My Husband ’s Ji-won, both shows are essentially about the same thing – second chances. Even though they were facing different challenges, these two characters were given a second chance in life and reconsidered their priorities. Ji-won’s tragedy led her to distance herself from all the toxic people in her life, which is why Marry My Husband was not only about revenge but also about fresh starts. Park Min-young’s character in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim was in a relatively good place, yet she rightfully felt like she deserved more.
