Everything to know about what's included in the Taylor Swift VIP package

By Ella Rayment-Ward | 3 months ago

Taylor Swift is bringing her Eras Tour Down Under in just a matter of weeks. But for VIP fans, the excitement has already kicked off.

For those who not only survived the great ticket war but were lucky enough to secure VIP deals, the packages have already started to arrive on fan's doorsteps.

TikTok has been filled with VIP package unboxings as fans show off their deluxe gifts.

But what is actually included in the all exclusive box and how much did it cost to secure the highly sought after package?

Here's everything you need to know about the Taylor Swift VIP package, including its re-sale value and and the one tiny detail that has left Australian fans outraged.

What is included in the Taylor Swift VIP package?

On top of stellar positioned seats, the Australian VIP package includes exclusive merchandise all contained within a box covered with the Eras Tour poster print.

All the VIP package options contain the same merch, the only difference in price depending on the reserve seating.

Inside the box, fans will be treated to a 'special' set of four different prints with the superstar's Eras Tour graphic on them.

As for the 'exclusive' merchandise, VIP ticketholders will take home a special canvas tote bag with a black and white Eras Tour poster on one side and "Taylor Swift The Eras Tour" written in block caps on the other.

The VIP package also includes a pin, sticker and postcard set, and a tour laminate with a matching Eras Tour lanyard.

But the last item in the box is one that has left Aussie fans upset over one tiny detail.

The VIP box comes with a special souvenir concert ticket that is a reflective design with the time and seat number both showing as Swift's well-known lucky number, 13.

While the general ticket has the venue as 'your favourite city', it is the date on the ticket that has Aussie fans scratching their heads.

The year on the Australian VIP ticket reads as 2023, despite the songstress' tour not making its way Down Under next month in 2024.

"Taylor Swift's Aussie tour VIP tickets goofed up – they say 2023 instead of 2024," someone Tweeted.

The tickets appear to reflect the US leg and South American leg tour dates from 2023 as the merch box contains the same items as the US VIP package.

"I paid a lot of money for my VIP seats and box. It sucked that we didn't get a city specific poster but it gets worse. We just get shoved with 2023's leftover keepsake tickets," one outraged fan wrote.

"Excited for Taylor Swift's Aussie tour in 2024 despite the VIP ticket date mix-up," another admitted.

How much does the VIP package cost?

While all VIP ticketholders will walk away with the same exclusive merch collection, some have spent a bit more to secure that top tier status.

The price of the package varies depending on what tier your seat is in.

The most affordable VIP deal is the We Never Go Out Of Style Package, valued at $349.90 for an E reserve seat.

The It's A Love Story Package gets fans a slightly closer D reserve seat for $399.90, while the Ready For It Package upgrades your ticket to B reserve for $599.90.

To get an A reserve seat in the stands, plus exclusive merch, fans were able to purchase the I Remember It All Too Well Package for $749.90.

The next step up is an A reserve floor seat for $899.90 as part of the Karma Is My Boyfriend Package.

Finally, the most expensive VIP package deal Aussie fans could grab in the great Ticketek war was the It's Been A Long Time Coming Package for a staggering $1249.90.

How much is the re-sale value?

For many who bought the VIP packages, the ticket was enough to justify the pricy cost. But for a seat valued up to $1249.90, how much is the collectable box on its own worth?

Many fans are already reselling the VIP box online, with pricing ranging in the hundreds.

One VIP ticketholder has listed their band new unopened merch box from the Australian Eras Tour leg for a highest price of $525 on eBay .

Some fans on eBay have grouped their merch box in with other Taylor Swift products to increase the value and novelty.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour

One person has listed their VIP box to be sold with the official cup and popcorn bucket sold as part of The Eras Tour movie promotion in Hoyts cinemas for $300.

But with so many Eras Tour boxes listed on resale sites, the more exclusive, and thus expensive VIP merch packages, are from the singer's previous Reputation tour in 2017.

For a VIP merch box from Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour, fans are valuing the package as in the late hundreds, with prices as high as a thousand Australian dollars.

One fan in the United States is selling their VIP box set on eBay for a whopping $AU $1,024.19, excluding shipping costs.

Are there any additional perks for Taylor Swift's VIP packages?

According to US fans on Reddit, the Taylor Swift VIP package reportedly comes with early entry to the venue before the rest of the crowds.

The purpose of the early entry is to give VIP ticketholders the chance to purchase merch from the stadium before other fans.

The early entry deal will likely be the same for Australian fans.

"You have early access to your venue for being VIP (for my show we could enter at 3:30 and get merch early)" one fan revealed on the forum.

"If you bought one of the top 2 vip packages (Karma is my Boyfriend, or It's a Long Time Coming), you also get early entrance and no line merch opportunities. You will get that regardless of whether or not you get your package in time," another shared.

"I also entered through a special line that was significantly shorter than general admission, but everything else (except my seat) was the same as general admission," a third said.

In terms of any other perks, the VIP tickets are essentially the same and do not include a meet and greet with Taylor Swift. S

Swift does not tend to do paid meet and greets at her concerts. In the past she has had her team, and her mum, choose dedicated fans from the crowd to meet her backstage after the show.

For her previous tour this was called the Rep Room. However the star doesn't seem to have revived this for her current tour.

Can you get Taylor Swift VIP merch without tickets?

Apart from buying the Taylor Swift VIP merch box on resale sites such as eBay or Depop, the exclusive items do not seem to be on sale first hand on Swift's site.

While the specific items seem to only be available with The Eras Tour VIP ticket package, there is still other concert merch on offer for fans to buy.

Fans with regular tickets to the Australian shows can buy from the merch stands inside and outside the stadiums.

While we haven't gotten a look at any of the merchandise which will be on sale for the Australian leg, it's safe to assume it will be the same offering as the other tour legs.

For those who missed out on tickets altogether, Taylor Swift's official website has merch available on the store.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour VIP Suite Vs. VIP Package: A Breakdown

Living that suite life.

Obtaining Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets is still an ongoing struggle for Swifties. Instead of going down in price, resale ticket are only going up. Many fans have had to budget around $1000 just to see the show from the last row. While you may have thought the most expensive VIP package was pricey before at $899, it’s starting to look like a steal in comparison. There is one other VIP way to secure a last-minute ticket to the Eras Tour that not many fans know about, and that’s through a VIP suite. Both experiences may be luxe, but deciding whether a Taylor Swift Eras Tour VIP suite or a VIP package is better depends on a few factors. Let’s break it down.

I was recently invited to attend The Eras Tour with Philips Sonicare, which bought one of the VIP suites at MetLife Stadium for Swift’s “NYC” shows. The tickets were gifted, but a suite for a concert at MetLife can range from $40,000 to $70,000 with up to 30 tickets included. This means that each person would have to spend about $1,333 to $2,333 a person for a VIP suite experience. That’s definitely way more than the highest VIP package, but there are tons of perks that come with a VIP suite that may actually make it all worth it. Considering tickets on StubHub for the nosebleeds are currently priced at $1,400 for Swift’s show in Chicago and $1,300 in Detroit, a VIP suite isn’t too far off. Factoring in things like the view of the stage, the comfortability, and included amenities, here is where VIP suites compare to VIP tickets.

Seats For VIP Suites Vs. VIP Tickets For Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

The $899 VIP Eras Tour ticket is the “It's Been A Long Time Coming Package” and comes with an “ unforgettable reserved ” seat on the floor near the stage. Israel Mendoza, who attended The Eras Tour in Glendale, AZ, previously told Elite Daily that the view from their floor VIP seat a few rows back from the end of the catwalk was good, but there were issues with seeing the screens on top of the stage as well as what was happening on it. “When Taylor came to the end of the catwalk, you could really see her well,” they shared, “However, my view was obstructed a few times because I had a lot of tall people in front of me.”

Fans are going to be wearing some intricate outfits to Eras Tour that may get in the way. Plus, Mendoza warned that “people love to put their phone up high to record” whenever Swift is near, so it only gets worse the further back you are. If you don’t have front row next to the stage, you may have to dodge some of these obstructions. Even if you are front row, Swift may not be near you at all times. The stage is massive, and during her over three-hour-long set , she moves up and down the catwalk quite a bit. You may be front row during the folklore era of the show, when she’s on the main stage, but you will have to resort to watching the screens during the surprise song set — which happens at the far end of the catwalk. It’s a gamble, but worth it for many Swifties who want to make eye contact for a brief second with their fave artist.

The seats from the VIP suite at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in New Jersey.

Of course, if you want to enjoy the entire show and be able to see every visual from afar — like Swift diving into the stage — you may prefer the suite life. Our VIP suite allowed me to see everything happening on the stage and on the catwalk. While we were given a box with more of a side view, we still got to see the folklore house and “The Man” set during the Lover era. As much as I would love to be able to notice the details on Swift’s Speak Now dress up close, I preferred being able to see the entire show and not having to worry about someone being too tall in front of me.

Each stadium’s suite has a different layout as well. Some come with seats attached. There might not be enough for everyone to sit in, but there is plenty of room if you’re standing and dancing throughout the show — which most Swifties will be doing anyway. Other suites have a balcony or patio, which can turn into a general admission or standing-room-only situation. If you’re sharing with your friends, though, it may end up just giving you more room to have an epic dance party during the show.

As much as I loved my suite and the view it provided of the entire stage, there are some additional perks to being on the floor. For instance, as you’re getting to your seat, you may walk by the celebrity VIP tent, which has seen guests like Jack Antonoff, Shawn Mendes, Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and even a totally enamored Matty Healy . Some Swifties have even been able to exchange friendship bracelets with these celebs, like Jennifer Lawrence . While I was able to exchange the bracelets I made while walking around the stadium before going to my suite and with my suite mates, you do have a better opportunity of meeting new people on the floor. The suite doesn’t really allow you to mingle with other fans, but that may not be your thing if you’re booking a VIP suite with your besties and want to share the night with them. I did get to chat a bit with the people in the suite next to us, so it’s not totally impossible to make new friends.

You could argue in favor of both seats all day, but ultimately, it comes down to the possibility of having a one-on-one moment with Swift that gives VIP packages the edge. For the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of being that close, I’ll award this first point to the VIP tickets rather than the VIP suites.

Merchandise For VIP Suites Vs. VIP Tickets For Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

Swifties waiting for merch at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is a factor in the battle between VIP suite v...

Eras Tour merch has become almost as hard to cop as tickets themselves. Many fans have to line up hours or even days before their show in order to purchase exclusive items like the viral Eras Tour blue crewneck. One perk to getting a VIP package is you have early venue entry and access to a “crowd-free” merch booth. Mendoza said they only had to wait about 20 to 30 minutes for merch. When you order a package, you also get a box sent to you with exclusive items like a light-up lanyard, posters, and a tote bag.

Unfortunately, there were no merch stands available on the suite level. When I got to MetLife Stadium, the merch booths inside the venue already had at least an hour-long wait. Since I had gotten some merch online and from a previous show, I didn’t bother waiting, but it was a nuisance just getting around the crowds in the stadium with all the lines. If you decide to wait in the merch lines, you’re also wasting precious time you could be using to enjoy the expensive suite you paid for. Since it was a mission impossible for merch, this point is going to VIP tickets.

Food For VIP Suites Vs. VIP Tickets For Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

The food in the VIP suite at Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour.'

Since the show is long, you’ll likely want to grab a snack or drink beforehand. Some venues even have their own specialty Eras Tour cocktails, like a Lavender Haze Lemonade. For anyone with a VIP package, you’ll need to order food and drinks like you would at any show from the concession stand . This means another long line you’ll likely have to wait in.

While VIP suites don’t come with merchandise, they do come with catering. This was a huge perk. Some packages come with a catering credit included in the price, which means your food is already paid for. When we first arrived, they had appetizers out like chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and soft pretzels — aka my favorite snack. We also had a fully stocked bar where we could make our own drinks or just grab a can of cider, soda, or beer. Throughout night, more food would come like sandwiches and mac ‘n’ cheese during the openers and desserts during Swift’s set. If you were hungry, there was food right there for you. You wouldn’t even have to miss a second of the show to grab it. Obviously, the VIP suites are winning this round.

Other Perks For VIP Suites Vs. VIP Tickets For Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

The inside of a VIP suite at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

Since the entire Eras Tour from opener to “Karma” runs almost five hours long, restroom access is more important than you would think. Swifties have even debated over which part of the set is the best time to run to the bathroom if you can’t make it through. Even though the lines for the restroom aren’t as horrible as the merch lines, they are still pretty long. Depending on where you’re seating, it may also be a long journey to get to the restroom in the middle of the show.

This is where VIP suites win again. Our suite was literally right across from a restroom, so even if we had to go during the show, it would only take us a second to get there and back. Since it was only available to those on the VIP suite floor, there was also barely a line. The only time a line formed was right after Phoebe Bridgers’ set and right before Swift was about to go on. Even then, you only had one or two people in front of you.

Some other perks included with VIP suites are paid parking spots. At the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the VIP cabana suites on the field come with five VIP parking passes. SoFi’s offsite parking ranges from $50 to $70, so that’s not only saving you about $250 to $350 but you’ll also be able to park closer to the venue.

Are VIP Suites Better Than VIP Tickets For Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour?

A Swiftie compares the VIP suite experience at the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' to a VIP package, and if...

At the end of the day, VIP suites and VIP packages to the Eras Tour are pretty comparable. There are pros and cons to each, but most Swifties would choose VIP tickets so they can be as close to the stage as possible. Don’t sleep on those VIP suites, though. They may be pricier, but you’re splurging for a luxe experience that really pays off.

Philips Sonicare set up our VIP suite with cute Swift-themed decor and had 1989 era instant cameras all around so we could snap pics throughout the night. Since we had the suite all to ourselves, it allowed us the freedom to roam. We could easily go grab a snack in between songs and shake it off without bothering our neighbors or getting yelled at by security .

If you are able to get a group of your own Swiftie squad to book a VIP suite, just imagine all the memories you could make together. The best part of all is that VIP suites are still available in most cities, unlike VIP tickets that are only being resold on sites like StubHub and SeatGeek for way more than their face value. If you’re desperate for last-minute Eras Tour tickets, this may actually be the best and bougie way to finally get them.

“I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” Taylor wrote in her official tour announcement. “I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming 🥰.”

The announcement comes after Taylor teased a potential tour during her October 24, 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . When Jimmy says she hasn’t toured in four years and that fans want her to, Taylor said “I think I should do it.” And do it, she will.

Here’s everything we know about Taylor Swift’s Eras Stadium Tour, from its setlist to how you can snag tickets and merch. Of course, we’ll keep all the updates coming as Taylor hits the road.

When and where did Taylor Swift’s tour start?

The North American leg of the Eras Stadium Tour kicked off at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on March 17, 2023. The city of Glendale fully embraced the honor of hosting her first Eras concert — in fact, Mayor Jerry P. Weiers of Glendale even declared that the city would temporarily be renamed Swift City for the duration of Taylor's performances on March 17th and 18th.

Mayor Weiers gave the official announcement at a press conference and made sure to incorporate plenty of T. Swift-themed puns, noting that all Swifties are encouraged to share their smiles “that could light up this whole town” on all social media platforms because “the best people in life are free.”

The U.S. Eras tour will end with a grand finale at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on August 9, 2023.

Which cities is Taylor Swift playing the Eras Tour?

After kicking off the tour in Glendale, Arizona, Taylor hit a ton of different cities in the U.S., from Foxborough, Massachusetts to East Rutherford, New Jersey. She initially shared the official tour dates on November 1, 2022, but she soon added eight more dates due to high demand (!!).

But, eight more shows still wasn’t enough due to increased demand, so Taylor Nation announced that 17 (!!) additional shows were added to the Eras Tour. “She gave us 8 shows last week, honey, but we want ‘em all. Due to unprecedented demand for tickets to #TSTheErasTour , Taylor has added 17 more shows in the US!,” her official fan club wrote.

And then, because Taylor is so good to us, she added one more new show in Los Angeles in the Sofi Stadium for September 7, 2023. See all her official tour dates listed below, including her incredible lineup of supporting acts.

Does Eras have international tour dates?

Yes! In June 2023, Taylor came through on her promise of crossing the pond. After the Latin American leg of the Eras Stadium Tour, Taylor will take the show to Asia, Australia, and Europe, starting February 7, 2024. She’ll begin with four shows in Toyko, and from there, will jet-set to major cities including Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, Amsterdam, and London. Check out the full list of international tour dates below.

But Taylor wasn’t done yet. Days after her initial announcement, the artist added one new show in Los Angeles and 8 news shows in the UK and Europe . Then, on July 5, she tossed 14 more European tour dates into the line-up, extending her stay in cities including Paris, Stockholm, Lisbon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Dublin, Amsterdam, Milan, Warsaw, and Vienna. See the complete list below.

Has Taylor Swift made any special announcements during the Eras Stadium Tour?

Taylor went back to her roots for a three-night tour in her hometown of Nashville and kicked off her weekend-long stay by announcing the official release date for her third re-release, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) . (Funny enough, Speak Now was Taylor’s third studio album.) The Grammy winner later took to Instagram to celebrate the album's release.

“It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆),” she wrote. “I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it.”

Taylor also revealed that there will be new music released on the project as well. “With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.”

How much is Taylor Swift expected to earn from the Eras Tour?

Taylor is raking in big coins courtesy of the Eras Stadium Tour. Bloomberg estimates that the Grammy winner could earn more than $10 million each night from ticket sales — but she isn’t the only one reaping the rewards of the tour.

According to the outlet, Eras could generate $5 billion (!) for local economies throughout the U.S., with an economic impact that’s reportedly greater than 50 countries. Bloomberg says a study from QuestionPro found that concertgoers spend an average of $1,327.74 on tickets, outfits and costumes, merchandise, food and drink, and travel combined.

Who are the opening acts for Taylor Swift’s Eras Stadium Tour?

Paramore (!!) has joined the tour. While announcing the 14 added European dates, Taylor shared that the pop-punk band will be her opening act. “I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!!,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “@yelyahwilliams and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???”

Sabrina Carpenter also recently announced that she’ll join Taylor’s Eras tour throughout Latin America. The “emails i can’t send” singer posted the official dates along with a screenshot of a 13-year-old tweet that read, “The Taylor Swift concert was amazing, had so much fun I cant wait to have a world tour someday like hers! lol with 2 sold out shows!!!!!” We’re not crying, you are. 🥹

Sabrina will be the special guest for Taylor’s Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico City performances from August 24 to November 26.

While most of Taylor’s opening acts and special guests are her friends and collaborators, there are also fresh, new artists who are getting their foot in the door with the honor of playing stadiums with Taylor Swift early in their careers. Taylor’s other supporting acts include Paramore, Haim, Pheobe Bridgers, Muna, Beabadoobee, Girl in Red, Gayle, Gracie Abrams, and Owenn.

How can I buy tickets for Taylor Swift's Eras Stadium Tour?

Following the TicketMaster debacle during the Verified Fan and Capital One pre-sales, Taylor’s team worked with the retailer to give Swifties good karma on Monday, December 12, 2022. Per NBC News , fans started receiving emails from TicketMaster that revealed they’d have a second chance at securing tickets to the Eras tour. “You were selected for this opportunity because you have been identified as a fan who received a boost during the Verified Fan presale but did not purchase tickets,” the email read. “We apologize for the difficulties you may have experienced, and have been asked by Taylor’s team to create this additional opportunity for you to purchase tickets.”

According to fans on Twitter, those who had received an official boost for the Verified Fan Pre-Sale but didn’t purchase tickets were granted an opportunity to buy a maximum of two due to high demand. Fans who received the message from TicketMaster received an individual invite to submit their purchase request before Friday, December 23, 2022. The retailer claims that invitations “will be staggered by tour dates in each city.”

For better chances of snagging a ticket, fans were instructed to register for TicketMaster’s Verified Fan program before November 9, 2022 to “ensure tickets get into the hands of fans.” The TicketMaster Verified Fan pre-sale took place on November 15, 2022, and due to unprecedented demand, tons of Swifties grew frustrated with the ticket-selling platform.

TicketMaster issued multiple statements during the chaotic Verified Fan pre-sale, which reportedly included queues of more than 20,000 people for some dates. Because of this “historically unprecedented demand,” the pre-sales scheduled for West Coast shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Clara, and Seattle were postponed to 3 p.m. PST on November 15, 2022 instead of its original time of 10 a.m. PST. TicketMaster also rescheduled the Capital One card member pre-sale to November 16, 2022 at 2 P.M. local venue time.

The ticket retailer included notable updates in the following Tweet:

According to TicketMaster’s official Twitter account, these are the best ticket-buying practices to ensure you secure a spot during the pre-sale.

On November 17, 2022, TicketMaster announced that the general ticket sale, which was scheduled to take place on Friday, November 18, 2022, was canceled due to “extraordinarily high demands.”

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow's public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been canceled,” the company wrote on Twitter. Greg Maffei, the CEO of Liberty Media, the largest shareholder in concert promotion company Live Nation and its ticket-selling platform Ticketmaster, also told CNBC that 14 million people tried to purchase tickets for the tour when pre-sale was launched on Tuesday to 1.5 million verified fans.

SeatGeek’s website also reported that the general sale was canceled on their platform for the same reasons.

According to a report by Variety , ticket prices ranged from $49 up to $449, with VIP packages starting at $199 and going up to $899. Notably, this did not include a meet-and-greet package as Taylor's official fan club, Taylor Nation, tends to scout super fans on social media and in the crowds at shows to meet the star for no additional cost.

While Taylor hasn’t done any official meet and greets for the Eras tour yet, she did keep a sweet promise she made to Arizona teen Isabella McCune. In 2018, Isabella went through a tragic accident that left her hospitalized with burns that covered more than 65 percent of her body. She was only 8 years old at the time, and she couldn't attend Taylor’s Reputation Stadium Tour because of her hospitalization.

Per ABC 15 , Taylor visited her longtime fan at the time and left a note that read, “Isabelle, I hope you feel better soon. I'm so honored you've been listening to my music. You're so awesome and I can't wait to have you at a show. Stay strong, gorgeous. Love, Taylor.”

Now, 13-year-old Isabella had the chance to attend the opening night of Taylor’s Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona. “Not only the fact that I'm able to go and I got these tickets gifted to me, they're from Taylor Swift and her team and they remembered me and thought of me to give me these tickets,” Isabella told the local news affiliate, adding that Taylor's "music helped [her] a lot while I was in the hospital."

Has Taylor Swift addressed the TicketMaster debacle?

The singer-songwriter originally took to her Instagram Stories on November 18, 2022, to air her frustrations and share her disappointment in the ticket-buying process.

“It goes without saying that I'm extremely protective of my fans. We've been doing this for decades together and over the years, I've brought so many elements of my career in house,” Taylor began. “I've done this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans' experience by doing it myself with my team who care as much about my fans as I do. It's really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for met to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”

“It's truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them,” she added.

Taylor ended the message in sharing her hopes that there will be future opportunities for her and her fans to be together and “sing these songs.” See Taylor’s full message below.

Are there any photos from the Eras Stadium Tour?

Drop everything now — pics from the opening night of Taylor’s tour in Glendale, Arizona, are her, and she’s proven that she can still make the whole place shimmer. The singer donned custom outfits from Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta, and Albert Ferretti throughout her set, and they all captured the essence of each era, from the fringe of Fearless to the ultra-sparkly co-ord sets of 1989 . What is taylor swift’s eras stadium tour setlist.

Taylor’s set is a little longer than her past tours because of all her iconic eras. With 10 (!!) studio albums — four of which haven’t been properly supported on tour — there is a ton of new material for Taylor to explore on stage. On opening night in Glendale, Arizona, the Grammy winner performed 44 songs, which rounded out to about three hours.

During her Arlington, Texas show on March 31, Taylor swapped out “Invisible String” — which fans believe is about her former boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn — for a bittersweet breakup track off Folklore , “The 1.” The setlist switch-up came amid Tay’s breakup with the Conversations With Friends actor.

The opening track off her Grammy-winning album, Folklore , includes the following lyrics:

“But we were something, don't you think so? / Roaring 20s, tossing pennies in the pool / And if my wishes came true / It would've been you / In my defense, I have none / For never leaving well enough alone / But it would've been fun / If you would've been the one.” Due to the nature of the lyrics, fans believe the song switch may have hinted at the couple’s split.

What are the surprise songs for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour?

On the first night of the tour, Taylor revealed that she’ll perform not one, but two surprise songs during the acoustic portion of the show.

“The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one. Right? So that when you heard one on this tour, you would know it's the only time that I was going to play it in the acoustic set, unless — caveat — unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city. Send your best wishes towards me that I don't do that,” the singer said, per Billboard .

u.s. american stadium tour 2023

Taylor Swift announced Tuesday morning her long-rumored return to the road, with an outing dubbed the “ Eras Tour ” scheduled to hit U.S. stadiums beginning in March 2023 and running into August, with international dates set to be revealed later.

The support acts are very much all about the sisterhood, with a host of acts Swift has championed in the past. Opening acts for the U.S. leg of the tour are Paramore , Haim , Phoebe Bridgers , Beabadoobee, Girl in Red, Muna, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn.

The tour starts March 18, 2023 in what is apparently a sweet spot for Swift, Glendale, Ariz., the same place her last outing, the pre-pandemic “Reputation” tour, began in 2018.

Popular on Variety

As for which album we can consider the tour to be supporting, since she has released four original studios albums since her last tour? All of them. Swift described the tour as “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” with a graphic showing her look from different phases of her career.

See the full itinerary, with color-coded graphics indicating which of the nine opening acts got the gigs in which cities:

The public on-sale happens at 10 a.m. local time on Nov. 18. As with all major tours nowadays, there will be an earlier rollout of tickets for credit card members, in this case holders of Capital One cards, beginning Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. through Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. local times.

As with her previous tour, there will be a Ticketmaster Verified Fan program “to ensure tickets get into the hands of fans.” Aspiring ticket buyers can register for the setup now through Nov. 9 here .

Unusually in the modern era of variably priced “platinum tickets” where fans get little information about set ticket prices, Swift has announced the cost of her tickets in advance. They run from $49 up to $449, with VIP packages that start at $199 and go up to $899.

Swift’s announcement promised that international dates are to follow.

There was an attention to detail in the tour announcement even in the graphics signifying the opening acts at different spots in the tour routing, with Bridgers, for instance, being represented by a tiny ghost, in honor of the skeleton costume she’s used on her own headlining tours.

Not accidental, probably, is how that same graphic breaks the tour itinerary down into two columns of 13 dates each. There will be 27 shows in 20 cities. The venues getting a two-night stand are in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Chicago, as well as Arlington, Texas; Foxborough, Mass.; and East Rutherford, N.J.

The reception for “Midnights” upon its October release left no doubt just how strong the appetite for Swift tickets will be. It had the biggest week since Adele’s “25” album, per Luminate this week, with 1,578,000 album-equivalent units. Additionally, it was announced Monday that for the first time in history, all 10 top slots of the Billboard Hot 100 were filled by a single artist’s songs, with “Anti-Hero” leading the way at No. 1. Fans very much wanted the full album, anyway — of the nearly 1.6 million album units registered for “Midnights,” 1,140,000 were copies purchased in the form of the full album. It became Swift’s fifth album, out of her 10 original studio releases overall, to sell a million-plus copies in the first week out. The figure also represented the best first-week sales for an album by any performer since “Reputation” came out of the gate with 1,216,000.

The “Eras Tour” is being produced in-house by Taylor Swift Touring and promoted by the Messina Touring Group.

The tour’s opening acts expressed their enthusiasm in their own ways, such as the tweet from Muna that declared the group “gay for Tay” and pictured the trio in miniature, resting atop Swift’s lighter on the “Midnights” album cover.

Taylor Swift is taking “Midnights” on the road.

Just a day after making Billboard history , the “Lavender Haze” singer announced Tuesday on “ Good Morning America ” that she will embark on her sixth concert tour.

“Good morning, America, it’s Taylor,” she said. “I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time and I’ve been planning for ages, and I finally get to tell you I’m going back on tour. The tour is called the ‘Eras’ tour, and it’s a journey through all of my musical eras of my career.”

Swift will launch the tour in U.S. stadiums on March 18, 2023, in Glendale, Ariz. — the same place she kicked off her 2018 Reputation tour. So far, 27 dates have been announced across the country that will take the tour into August when she closes out the first leg with two shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Aug. 4 and 5.

She will release international dates later.

The Grammy winner has also tapped a number of “brilliant opening acts” for the tour, including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, Muna, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams, and Owenn.

“And really, I’m just so excited that I get to look you guys in the eye and say thank you for everything,” she added.

I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past & present!) Prospective concertgoers will have to sign up for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program to register for presale tickets now through Nov. 9. Once they receive a code, they will be able to purchase tickets on Nov. 15. Those tickets will start at $49 and go up to $449. VIP packages start at $199 and go up to $899.

Verified fans from Swift’s Lover Fest tour will also receive preferred access to participate in the TaylorSwiftTix Presale once registered with the same Ticketmaster account as the previous purchase.

All other public ticket sales begin Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. local venue time.

Swift’s announcement comes more than a week after she released her tenth studio album, “Midnights,” on Oct. 20 . The singer announced the album back in August during an acceptance speech at the Video Music Awards.

In a statement after the show , she described “Midnights” as a “a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.”

Leading up to the release, Swift teased fans by trickling details about the album — including writing credits for boyfriend Joe Alwyn and “The Batman” star Zoë Kravitz.

“Midnights” made its grand entrance by briefly crashing Spotify and treating fans to bonus tracks and a companion music video for the single “Anti-Hero.”

Times critic Mikael Wood wrote that “Midnights” “returns to an earlier Swift mode in both sonic and lyrical terms.”

Out of the woods, Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ heralds the return of a pop-music mastermind

After two rootsy pandemic albums, ‘Midnights’ picks up right where 2014’s ‘1989’ and 2017’s ‘Reputation’ left off.

Oct. 20, 2022

Adding to the excitement around “Midnights” was the album’s commercial success. Swift’s new album broke records on Spotify last week and on Monday, the singer became the first artist to fully occupy the top 10 spots of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES,” Swift tweeted on Monday.

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Verified Fan Onsale is using registration to ensure more tickets get into the hands of fans who want to go to the shows, not buyers looking to resell them.

Only fans that receive an email confirming their access will be able to join the queue for this Verified Fan Onsale. Fans who are selected will receive additional instructions on Wednesday, November 8. All others will be put on a waitlist.

Tickets for these shows will be in high demand, therefore, a limited number of fans will get access to the Verified Fan Onsale while others will be placed on the waitlist as described below. Access to the Verified Fan Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

Registration is open from Thursday, November 2 at 8:00 a.m. PT through Saturday, November 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT .

Key Dates to Know

Thursday, November 2 – Registration opens Saturday, November 4 @ 5:00 p.m. PT – Registration closes Wednesday, November 8 – Fans will receive confirmation if they will have access to the Verified Fan Onsale or if they have been placed on the waitlist.

Thursday, November 9 – Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Verified Fan Onsale (only fans that received an email confirming their access will be able to join the queue for this sale). All shows will be assigned specific on-sale windows, which will be communicated prior to the start of the sale.

How Will This Sale Work?

Ticketmaster is helping artists give their fans a better opportunity to purchase tickets by creating an extra line of defense against bots and professional resellers who are looking to sell tickets for profit. The process includes three steps:

Step 1: Registration

By registering for the Verified Fan Onsale, you are letting us know that you’re interested in purchasing tickets. From the registration page, you sign into or create your account, select your preferred show(s) and register your email and phone number. Once completed, you’ll automatically receive a confirmation email letting you know that we got your request. It’s quick, easy and free to sign up.

Step 2: Verification

Next, Ticketmaster vets each request by confirming it belongs to an individual — not a bot — and that it hasn’t been tied to irregular behaviors that could be a sign of a professional seller attempting to access the sale.

Step 3: Access Code or Waitlist

When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of registered Verified Fans will get access to the sale and others will be placed on a waitlist. You’ll receive an email on Wednesday, November 8 letting you know which group you’re in. If selected to get access to the sale, you’ll receive a unique access code and purchase link via text message the day prior to your Verified Fan Onsale.

While no system can guarantee that all fans will get tickets to the show(s) they’re interested in, the Verified Fan program works to significantly block bots and professional resellers from competing against fans for tickets during the sale.

Common Questions

How do i register.

  • To register, please visit: HERE
  • Sign in using your My Account or create an account if you don’t have one.
  • Tell us what show you’re interested in and submit your registration; we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest information.

We’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know your registration was successful and what you can expect next.

If I receive access to the Verified Fan sale, am I guaranteed tickets?

No. Access means you have an opportunity to join the Verified Fan sale but it is not a guarantee you’ll be able to purchase tickets. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

If I received access to the Verified Fan sale, how do I purchase tickets?

  • At the specified time, click the link you were sent.
  • You’ll enter the Smart Queue. To keep your place in line, stay on the page and don’t refresh. Do not open more than one browser window.
  • Once it’s your turn, shop for tickets by using your unique access code. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis while currently-available inventory lasts and aren’t guaranteed. Each event has a strict four (4) ticket limit per customer.
  • Then checkout!

How many tickets can I buy with my code?

You can purchase up to 4 tickets for the one show indicated in the text you received.

When will the Waiting Room open?

The Waiting Room will open 30 minutes before the designated Verified Fan sale window begins. When the Verified Fan sale begins, fans in the Waiting Room are assigned a spot in line. Once you reach the end of the queue, you’ll have an opportunity to shop for tickets. Stay on the page and don’t refresh or you may lose your spot in line.

You must use the same Ticketmaster account that you registered with to join the Waiting Room.

How do I join the queue?

Sign in through the link that we texted to the phone number you provided during registration to access the queue.

What can I do to prepare?

If you’ve been selected to participate in the Verified Fan sale, we recommend that you prepare by signing into your Ticketmaster account before the Verified Fan sale to make sure your billing information is up to date. This will help speed up the checkout process after you’ve selected the tickets you want to buy.

My link isn’t working. What should I do?

If you registered and received access to shop for tickets through text or email from Ticketmaster, but the link’s not working, try checking these things first:

  • Make sure the event is on sale. Links are sent out before the event goes on sale but won’t work until the event is actually on sale.
  • You must be signed in with the same email address you used to register for the Verified Fan sale.

Will there be other ways to buy Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets?

The only official way to get Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets is through the Ticketmaster Verified Fan Onsale or through certain other limited tour-sponsored onsale opportunities for specific shows. Be on the lookout for information on these other opportunities where available.

I got an email saying I’m on the waitlist. What does that mean?

If you’re currently on the waitlist, stay tuned — you may still have an opportunity to shop for tickets.

When there are more fans than there are tickets, a limited number of fans will get access to join at the start of the Verified Fan sale and others will be placed on the waitlist.

More fans may get access to join the Verified Fan sale based on ticket availability. If you’re selected, you will receive a text with a link to join the Verified Fan sale. Please note, moving off the waitlist does not guarantee access to tickets. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

Can I register more than once to increase the likelihood that I am able to purchase tickets ?

Registering more than once for a specific event does not increase the likelihood that you are able to purchase tickets . If you want to change the event date you selected after you’ve registered, you can make those edits while the registration window is still open. We only keep the last registration you submitted.

I received a confirmation email after I registered, what does that mean?

The email is simply to inform you that we have received your registration and will be working to verify your account. It doesn’t guarantee that you will be selected for the Verified Fan sale access. A second email will be sent on Wednesday, November 8 letting you know if you will get access to the sale or if you’ve been placed on the waitlist. If selected, the day prior to your Verified Fan sale you’ll receive a text message with a unique access code and link to use.

I’m a real fan of this artist, and not a bot or reseller. Why didn’t I get access?

Selection is not a measure of how big a fan anybody is. Sometimes there simply aren’t enough tickets for everyone. When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of fans get access to the Verified Fan sale, and others must be placed on the waitlist. The number of fans who receive access depends on the number of tickets currently available — this is done to help create a less crowded ticket shopping experience for fans.

How will I know if I’ve been granted access to the Verified Fan sale after I’ve been placed on the waitlist?

If selected, you will receive a text with a unique access code and link to the ticket sale. In the event of any SMS/texting delivery issues, we’ll email your unique access code and link to the email address associated with your Ticketmaster account that you used to register. Access to the Verified Fan Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis while currently-available inventory lasts. If you’re sent a unique access code and link you should join the Verified Fan sale as soon as possible for your opportunity to purchase tickets.

Taylor Swift ‘s The Eras Tour is headed to France ! After releasing her new album, The Tortured Poet’s Department , on Friday (April 19), releasing the Eras Tour movie on Disney+ in March and taking her heavily anticipated tour to Australia and Asia , the singer will be back on stage soon.

Trending on Billboard

Her first upcoming tour stop will kick off at the Paris La Defense Arena in Nanterre, France, on May 9.

Swiftie Forever: The Cutest Taylor-Swift Inspired Necklaces Available on Amazon

The Eras Tour , Swift’s first tour in five years, was announced in November 2022. Presale tickets for the tour went on sale via Ticketmaster that month. Another batch of presale tickets for her 2024 tour stops in Vancouver and new tickets for Australia and Sweden went on sale late last year.

Swift partnered with Capital One on exclusive tickets available for Capital One cardholders. As can be expected, passes to see Swift live remain one of the hottest concert tickets on the market, so we’re breaking down what you need to know so you can secure a seat.

See below for information on how to get last-minute tickets to international stops on Swift’s Eras Tour. Check out the new list of tour dates here .

How Much Do Last-Minute Eras Tour Tickets Cost?

Resale tickets for The Eras Tour are currently available online for concerts in France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and other locations.

How much are last-minute tickets? There’s more than one way to score Eras Tour tickets, but expect to spend at least a few hundred bucks on a ticket, depending on the seats and date of the show.

Swift will perform in France from May 9 to 12, and Sweden starting on May 17 . Tickets are scarce and selling fast — especially in the last hour (over 50,000 people were looking at tickets when we last checked). The Eras Tour will make its way to Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Poland, the U.K. and more countries before circling back to the U.S.

Tickets for next year’s North American leg are currently available at StubHub , Vivid Seats and Seat Geek , although pricing ranges from around $1,000 and up, most of the tickets are around $1,200+ at StubHub. For fans who want to catch Swift’s opening night in Miami on October 18 , tickets prices are currently spiking to more than $1,600 .

Looking for the cheapest tickets ? Searching different sites will give you a better chance of landing tickets at a lower price point, but we did some of the digging for you.

At press time, tickets to the shows in France start at around $300 , although most of the in-demand tickets are priced in the $450-$600 range at StubHub , which is around the same prices that you might find on sites such as Ticketsmarter .

The Eras Tour is a celebration of all 10 of the studio albums Swift has released since 2006. The massively successful tour has raked in over $1 billion . But with the launch of a new album era, it’s unclear if Swift will incorporate any of her new music into the tour.

In 2022, Swift shared a poster advertising the tour’s initial 27-date U.S. leg on Instagram featuring a collage of photos of herself through the years, from the time of her self-titled debut to  Midnights , which dropped less than two weeks prior to the tour news.

Taylor Swift Has Bad Blood With Some Celebs (And They Didn't Get VIP Seating At Eras)

  • Taylor Swift welcomed many celebrities into her VIP tent during the Eras tour, but not everyone made the cut.
  • Celebrities like Karlie Kloss, Meghan Markle, Sydney Sweeney, and Machine Gun Kelly had box seats or even general admission tickets to Eras.
  • Taylor Swift may not have had bad blood with all the celebs who didn't make it into the VIP tent.

Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour has been one of the hottest events to get tickets to before the concerts even began. Those who are fans of the woman with a $1+ billion net worth knew how difficult it was to secure a ticket, especially with the scandal from Ticketmaster who sold the tickets for the Eras Tour , making it even harder still to get a seat.

Add in the prices that after-market ticket brokers were charging for tickets, which in some cases turned out to be fraudulent tickets for the Eras Tour , it seemed like a near-impossible feat to be one of the lucky few to see Swift live in concert.

Taylor Swift's Diet And Training For The Eras Tour Wasn't Perfect, According To A Fitness Expert

Even celebrities were not immune to issues with tickets. However, their situation was slightly different. This is because there were a select number of celebrities who were allowed in the VIP tent for the evening. Despite Taylor Swift's Eras Tour attracting many celebrities, not all of them got VIP treatment. Those who wanted to see Swift in action either had to pay for a box seat or, for some, sit among the fans.

Here are those fans whose status was not enough to warrant VIP.

Karlie Kloss Didn't Have A VIP Ticket To Eras

Karlie kloss sat in the upper portion of the stadium with fans.

Karlie Kloss and Swift met after Swift performed at a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The two got along well and became fast friends.

In the months that followed after their friendship began, Kloss became part of Swift's squad, which also included Gigi Hadid , Selena Gomez , Martha Hunt, and more. Kloss even appeared in Swift's "Bad Blood" video. It looked like there was nothing that could come between the two friends.

While Kloss and Swift have never publicly spoken about their friendship, or lack of it, many speculate that it began to strain after Kloss went on a vacation with Scooter Braun at the height of the feud with Swift over purchasing her master tracks. Some fans even believe that the song, "It's Time to Go" is about Kloss.

Taylor Swift Slams Ex-Boyfriends And Fellow Celebrities In An Album That's Wonderfully Petty

If there is a rift between the two, it would make sense that Kloss would not have been invited to the VIP Tent for the Eras Tour. However, not only was Kloss not invited to the tent, she sat in the stands with fans for the three-and-a-half-hour event.

Meghan Markle Sat In Stadium Seating Instead Of A VIP Slot

Meghan markle sat in the stadium seats rather than in the vip tent.

Meghan Markle and friends attended the Eras Tour. However, they were not spotted by fans in the VIP area or even in a box seat. Instead, Markle and her friends sat among the plebian Swifties and sang along to the songs.

It is unclear what the relationship between Markle and Swift is. The duchess reached out to Swift to have her appear on Markle's now-defunct podcast , Archietypes. According to sources, Markle not only had Swift's people contacted but wrote a "handwritten letter" to the Midnights singer as well.

Kim Kardashian Bullied Online By Swifties As Fans Are Convinced Taylor Swift Disses Her In New Songs

Unfortunately, Swift's schedule would not allow her to appear on the podcast, which would have been a coup for Markle. However, it does not appear to have soured how Markle feels about Swift, given her appearance at the concert.

Sydney Sweeney Skipped The VIP Treatment, Too

Sydney sweeney sat in box seats at the eras tour.

While Sydney Sweeney and Swift may not be friends, many have compared the two and like to draw parallels to how similar Sweeney and Swift are. The most popular similarity that is commented on is how down-to-earth they both are. With the throng of celebrities who came out for the Eras Tour, it was not surprising for Sweeney to appear.

Clearly a fan of Swift's music, Sweeney posted pictures and videos from her night at the final performance at SoFi Stadium. From her box seat, Sweeney danced and sang along with friends , looking like she had an amazing time.

While she was in the VIP Tent, it did not appear to have phased Sweeney one bit, who captioned her Instagram carousel of pictures, "Had the time of my life."

Machine Gun Kelly Might Have Bought His Own Eras Tour Ticket

Machine gun kelly sat in box seats at the eras tour.

One celebrity that some were surprised to see at the Eras Tour was Machine Gun Kelly. However, this should not be that astounding, given that it appears that Swift and Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are friendly with one another.

This was proven at the Super Bowl after party where pictures were taken of Swift, Travis Kelce, Fox, and MGK chatting and hanging out with each other. When this friendship began is unclear. But the conversation was more than just passing, proving there is some sort of history there.

It is not clear if Megan Fox attended the Eras Tour. While she was not spotted in videos or pictures fans took of Machine Gun Kelly while he attended a SoFi Stadium show, that does not mean Fox was not in attendance. However, if she was, she was enjoying the view with Machine Gun Kelly from a box seat rather than from the VIP Tent.

Who’s in Taylor Swift’s Squad Now?

vip tour taylor swift

Not since the “Bad Blood” music video in 2015 has the role of Taylor Swift’s Famous Friend been so important. In the past year, Swift has ended two relationships (with longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn and short-time controversial rebound fling Matty Healy ), started up a new, highly publicized one with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and brought the Squad along for the ride. Whether it’s cheering Swift on in the VIP tent at the Eras Tour, chugging beers in a VIP suite at the Super Bowl, or acting as Swift’s VIP date at the Golden Globes or the Grammys, it has truly never been a better time to be Swift’s friend.

The party shows no signs of stopping: Swift is about to launch her new album, The Tortured Poets Department , which means she will likely embark on many more pap strolls with everyone from Blake Lively to Ice Spice to Laura Dern at impossible-to-get-into New York restaurants in the next few weeks.

Not everyone who attended Swift’s many epic July Fourth parties in the mid-2010s has joined this new iteration of the clique, however. There are some new faces in the mix as well, and they’re not even all Victoria’s Secret models. Who’s in and who’s out? Behold, a cheat sheet.

The Inner Circle

Swift has made it abundantly clear in the last 12 months who has a reserved seat on her private jet. Blake Lively joined her at several of Kelce’s games this fall and got the coveted Super Bowl invite. ( Ryan Reynolds has benefited from this association too.) Gigi Hadid was all over the Eras Tour VIP tent and had a starring role at Swift’s New York birthday party in December. Swift also famously wore a red cashmere sweater from Hadid’s Guest in Residence line to the AFC Championship game. ( Bradley Cooper has yet to be initiated into the Squad.) And at least one of the Haim girls is always around.

Also at the top of the list: Zoë Kravitz , who was part of Swift’s “quarantine pod” during the pandemic in London when Swift was still dating Alwyn and who hung in during the short-lived, messy Healy era. Now, she’s a regular on Swift’s paparazzi-friendly girls’ nights in the city (sometimes Channing Tatum gets an invite too).

Then of course there’s Jack Antonoff , whose loyalty to Swift is such that he recently hung up on a reporter for asking an innocuous question about her forthcoming album. Swift attended his and Margaret Qualley ’s wedding in New Jersey in August, where she literally stopped traffic.

The bestie who has shot up the furthest in the Squad’s ranks, however, is Miles Teller ’s wife, Keleigh Teller (it’s pronounced Kelly). Ms. Teller, who starred in Swift’s music video for “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” in 2021 (directed by Lively, natch), has quickly become one of Swift’s most visible girlfriends. She posted behind-the-scenes TikToks from multiple Chiefs games this fall and served as Swift’s date to the Golden Globes (where the pair were photographed gossiping with another longtime Squad member, Selena Gomez ). She also gifted Swift a ginormous opal ring for her birthday and publicly called out DeuxMoi when the gossip account claimed it was from Kelce. Congratulations to her.

New Acquaintances

Though she has plenty of longtime friends to keep her occupied, Swift has not stopped collecting new famous faces. Just as she was getting backlash for dating Healy last summer, Swift became publicly friendly with Ice Spice , whom Healy had mocked on a podcast. The rapper even sat with Swift at the Super Bowl, alongside Lively and Lana Del Rey (who, you’ll recall, Swift dragged up onstage at the Grammys to watch her accept the award for Album of the Year).

Swift also debuted a close personal friendship with Sophie Turner last year, when the British actress was in the middle of an acrimonious custody battle with her estranged husband (and Swift’s ex-boyfriend) Joe Jonas . (According to the tabloids, Swift even loaned Turner one of her “investment properties” in New York for the duration of her time in court.) Other new friends include Laura Dern and Greta Gerwig , who were photographed having dinner with Swift and Kravitz in New York this fall (Dern is also friends with Hadid now, via Cooper). And she has added a few choice men into the mix: Antoni Porowski , Hugh Jackman , and Jerrod Carmichael were also spotted with Swift at various Chiefs games during the regular season.

The person who seems to appreciate Swift’s new friendship the most, though, is fellow Chiefs WAG Brittany Mahomes . The wife of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes posted several photos of her “twinning” with Swift at games during the playoffs this winter. Sadly, they have not been seen together since the Super Bowl.

The Excommunicated

Swift’s most famous ex-friend is undoubtedly Karlie Kloss . But there are a few other gals who were prominently featured in Swift’s Squad during the “Bad Blood” days who are now missing in action. Zendaya , Martha Hunt , Lorde , Serayah , and Jessica Alba have all fallen by the wayside. And Jaime King , who made Swift a godmother to one of her children in 2015, has not shown up to any Eras Tour dates, domestic or international, so far.

The most obvious recent dismissal from the Squad, however, is Olivia Rodrigo . Swift became fast friends with the teen pop star during her rise in 2021, but their relationship apparently cooled during the Grammys last year over songwriting credits on Rodrigo’s debut album. Now, Swift has buddied up to Rodrigo’s nemesis, Sabrina Carpenter . (Carpenter opened for Swift on several dates of the last international leg of the Eras Tour.)

But perhaps not all is lost: Swift recently confirmed that she had patched things up with the woman who inspired “Bad Blood” in the first place. Katy Perry attended one of Swift’s shows in Australia earlier this year and even took a smiling selfie with her. The new iteration of the Squad, it seems, is open to everyone. Who knows who will show up in Swift’s Tortured Poets Department music videos?

Table of contents, background and development.

«I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present)! The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can! Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these brilliant artists out on tour with me: Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, Gracie Abrams, GAYLE and OWENN. I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming.» Taylor Swift

Ticketmaster Controversy

«Well. It goes without saying that I'm extremely protective of my fans. We've been doing this for decades together and over the years, I've brought so many elements of my career in house. I've done this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans' experience by doing it myself with my team who care as much about my fans as I do. It's really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse. There are a multitude of reasons why people had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I'm trying to figure out how this situation can be improved moving forward. I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them, multiple times, if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could. It's truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them. And to those who didn't get tickets, all I can say is that my hope is to provide more opportunities for us all to get together and sing these songs. Thank you for wanting to be there. You have no idea how much that means.» Taylor Swift

«I just want to talk to you guys for a second about how this tour, and what you have done — you know, this tour, I hear so many people talking about how they wanted to come to these shows just because of you guys, and the joy, and the friendship, the open heartedness with which you guys have approached this tour. Like you’re making friendship bracelets and trading them with each other, you’re dancing with each other, you’re making friends with the people next to you. I see you FaceTiming people who are your friends and like, singing with them too. It’s really beautiful, and like the nicest thing in the world is how you guys have approached this tour with so much excitement, and you’ve gotten so into it, and you dress up, and the fact that you care this much is what has made this tour so special for me, and everyone that you see onstage. The cities visited by “The Eras Tour” celebrated the tour in various ways, creating a “friendly competition” between them over honouring Taylor.

  • Glendale temporarily changed its name from March 17 to 18 as it hosted the first shows of “The Eras Tour.” Mayor Jerry Weiers announced the “symbolic” name, Swift City, on March 13. The Westgate Entertainment District, a mixed-use complex in Glendale, put up welcome messages, and local restaurants offered Swift-themed menu items.
  • Las Vegas displayed light shows inspired by the color palettes of “The Eras Tour” every night through March 25 at the Gateway Arches on the Las Vegas Boulevard.
  • Arlington, Texas, renamed Randol Mill Road, the street outside AT&T Stadium, to Taylor Swift Way on March 30. Mayor Jim Ross declared March 31 through April 2 “Taylor Swift Weekend”, during which the steel sculptures outside Arlington City Hall were illuminated red; Taylor was also presented with a key to the city. Additionally, the Arlington Museum of Art announced on March 30 that it would host an exhibit exploring Taylor’s “evolving, boundary-pushing” artistry, featuring costumes, photographs, and concert videos from her album eras. Titled “The Eras Tour Collection,” the exhibit ran from June 2 to September 24, 2023.
  • Tampa, Florida, presented Taylor with a key to the city; Mayor Jane Castor invited Taylor to be the city’s honorary mayor for a day. The Tampa City Hall, Tampa Riverwalk and downtown bridges are to be lit red. Hillsborough County temporarily changed its name to Swiftsborough.
  • Houston illuminated its city hall lavender as a nod to “Lavender Haze”, celebrated “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour weekend”, and renamed NRG Stadium to NRG Stadium (Taylor’s Version) from April 21 to 23, as per a proclamation by Harris County judge Lina Hidalgo.
  • In Atlanta, Georgia’s Own Credit Union welcomed Taylor with a large “Welcome to A-TAY-L” sign displayed atop its skyscraper building. Taylorsville, Georgia declared April 28, 2023, “Taylor Swift Day” and presented Taylor with a key to the city following her three sold-out shows in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
  • In Nashville, Tennessee, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened an exhibit entitled Through Taylor Swift’s Eras , displaying original outfits from every album era throughout May 2023. Mayor John Cooper recognized May 5 to 7 as “Taylor Swift Homecoming Weekend” and placed an “honorary bench” at Centennial Park as a monument dedicated to “Nashville and Swift’s long-standing relationship”, in reference to lyrics in her song “invisible string”.
  • Philadelphia unveiled a mural on South Street on May 12.
  • Massachusetts governor Maura Healey conferred a “Governor’s Citation” upon Taylor in recognition of her Foxborough shows.
  • New York City’s Museum of Arts and Design announced an exhibit called “Taylor Swift: Storyteller” on May 3, describing it as a “career-spanning look at [Taylor’s] artistic reinventions”; it opened from May 20, ahead of Taylor’s shows in East Rutherford, to September 4.
  • New Jersey governor Phil Murphy declared the “Taylor Swift ham, egg, and cheese” as the state’s official sandwich on May 25, referencing the cultural debate about Taylor ham and pork roll.

I'm planning to spend $5,000 to see Taylor Swift in Europe with my kids. Our floor tickets, hotel, and flights are set to cost less than our nosebleed seats in the US did.

  • I saw Taylor Swift on the US leg of The Eras Tour, and two nosebleed seats cost us $5,000.
  • My daughter and I loved the show, so I scored us floor seats for one of Swift's Poland shows.
  • Our European trip includes three VIP Swift tickets and is set to be cheaper than our seats in the US.

Insider Today

When Taylor Swift first announced her Eras Tour , I laughed when I heard colleagues had cleared their work schedules to buy tickets.

I couldn't understand why they were looking for tickets for shows hours away. I liked a few of Swift's songs, but I wasn't a "Swiftie" and didn't understand the frenzy.

That all changed when my daughter started asking intensely for tickets . And once The Eras Tour started, it became clear that it was the concert of the century. It was also nearly impossible to get tickets.

Seeing the US tour was difficult and expensive, but the show turned me into a full-on Swiftie

I didn't want my kid to miss out on this generation-defining event, but I couldn't stomach spending $4,000 or more on the resale market for two nosebleed seats on top of travel costs to another city.

Fortunately, five cousins chipped in to buy my daughter tickets for her birthday.

My daughter, a devoted Swiftie, predictably loved every second of The Eras Tour. At first, I wasn't sure how I would get through a 3 ½-hour show by an artist I barely knew — but I left in awe of Swift's talent.

Related stories

In the weeks that followed, I listened exclusively to Swift. On a trip to Nashville, I sang my heart out to Swift's songs at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I wondered whether I would be able to see her perform again, this time going all in.

Getting tickets to see Swift in Poland was easier than I expected

As soon as Swift announced international dates on her tour in June, I took the first of many steps to get tickets to one of her shows abroad. I set my sights on a show in Warsaw, Poland, for several reasons.

My children and I are Polish citizens but have never set foot in the country. I've wanted to go for years, and snagging Swift tickets would allow me to finally make the trip. I reasoned that Warsaw was unlikely to be as popular as marquee destinations like Paris. It's also a less expensive city than many other international stops on The Eras Tour.

Also, tickets for the Warsaw show were not being sold through Ticketmaster. I found the idea of not having to deal with the company that botched sales to the US leg of the tour very appealing.

A few days before tickets went on sale, I got a code for the chance to buy tickets before they became available to the rest of the public. Based on how popular presales were in the US , I knew I was unlikely to get tickets, but I set an alarm for 5 a.m. anyway.

Much to my surprise, I was able to enter the ticket-buying portal right away. I scored three VIP floor seats for the first night of Swift's Eras Tour in Warsaw for less than $1,000. My daughter, my son, and I started making friendship bracelets immediately to exchange with other concert-goers, an Eras Tour tradition.

Our trip hasn't happened yet, but I already know it'll be worth it

Although tickets to the Warsaw show were not cheap, the total cost plus our European trip is set to be about the same as or less than the two nosebleed seats I got when I saw Swift in the US.

I hope to use credit-card points to book our flights, but even if I don't, I estimate the total cost of the trip could be from $4,000 to $5,000. This isn't significantly more than my family usually spends on our annual family vacation, and I have more than a year to save.

However, unlike other family vacations, this one comes with the chance to explore our roots and see a new part of the world. I never would have guessed that Swift would be what finally got me to Poland, but it's just one more reason for me to love her.

Taylor Swift’s ‘TTPD’ relationship breakdown: Songs about Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy and Travis Kelce

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” has arrived two months after she surprised fans at the 2024 Grammys with the announcement of the album.

The global superstar previously described the project as a “lifeline” for her during a February concert in Melbourne, Australia .

“It sort of reminded me of why songwriting is something that actually gets me through life and I’ve never had an album where I’ve needed songwriting more than I needed it on ‘Tortured Poets,'” she explained.

Now, fans are busy decoding the lyrics of the project’s 31 songs — and theorizing who they may be about. Read on to discover which recent exes Swift may have referenced in “TTPD.”

“So Long, London”

The track on “TTPD” most likely to be about the actor is “So Long, London,” a heartbreaking tune about Swift saying goodbye to the British city she called her home for six years .

“I left all I knew you left me at the house by the heath,” the songstress croons in the heartbreaking lyrics, perhaps talking about how she moved from the US to Alwyn’s home country to live a quiet, private life with him.

“Loml”

Swift and Alwyn, who began dating in early 2017 , faced engagement rumors numerous times over the course of their long-term romance. However, the Grammy winner seemingly confirms on “Loml” that they never got past the stage of ideating about their future.

“You s–t talked me under the table / talking rings and talking cradles / I wish I could un-recall how we almost had it all,” the lyrics say.

“I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”

The “Anti-Hero” singer kicked off her Eras Tour in March 2023, just a few weeks before Page Six confirmed she and Alwyn had split .

While Swift seemed to be having a great time on stage, the lyrics of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” — a song about being secretly “miserable” — tell a different, more depressing story.

Matty Healy

“The Tortured Poets Department”

Swifties believe the “Midnights” singer referenced Matty Healy — whom she briefly dated after Alwyn and was caught kissing  at New York City’s Casa Cipriani  in May 2023 — in the title track of her album.

“You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist / I scratch your head you fall asleep / Like a tattooed golden retriever ,” she sings.

The 1975 frontman, who sat in the VIP tent of multiple Eras Tour shows , is known to enjoy a cigarette, even during his shows, and has multiple tattoos. The 1975 also has a hit song titled “Chocolate.”

“Guilty As Sin?”

While “Guilty As Sin?” could be about anyone, fans on X theorized the emotional cheating discussed in the song has to do with Healy.

Swift describes her sensual daydreams about another person as “fatal fantasies” and admits she and the unnamed person have “already done it” in her head.

 Taylor Swift and Matty Healy

“What if he’s written ‘mine’ on my upper thigh only in my mind?” she croons at another point.

Fans seem to be enjoying the song, with one quipping, “If emotionally cheating with Matty gave us guilty as sin i say i forgive them.”

“Down Bad”

“Down Bad” seems to be an emotional breakup song about Swift losing someone with whom she shared a “cosmic love.”

While the lyrics could be about a number of people from her past, fans believe they reference Healy because she describes her ex-lover as “hostile” and having “indecent exposures.”

While he has never been caught exposing himself to anyone, he has been involved in several controversial moments, such as when he made out with a security guard during a June 2023 performance and went on a racist podcast rant about Swift’s pal, rapper Ice Spice.

 Taylor Swift and Matty Healy

“Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus”

The “Miss Americana” star seemingly references Healy’s open battle with drug addiction in “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus.”

“You needed me, but you needed drugs more,” she sings in the track.

Swift also references the song’s subject having kids “with an internet starlet,” perhaps citing the British crooner’s romance with influencer Gabbriette Bechtel .

“The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”

Swift sends a message to “the smallest man who lived” — likely Healy — on the 14th track of her new album, once again singing about his drug use.

“You tried to buy some pills / From a friend of friends of mine,” she sings.

matty healy at eras tour

She also seemingly references their June 2023 split when she says, “I don’t even want you back I just want to know / If rusting my sparkling summer was the goal.”

Swift was on the Eras Tour when the breakup occurred.

“I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”

Swift sings about dating a controversial man — possibly the “Oh Caroline” singer — as people protest in “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can).”

“They shake their heads, saying, ‘God help her’ when I tell ‘em he’s my man,” she purrs before protesting, “But your good Lord doesn’t need to lift a finger / I can fix him, no really I can.”

Travis Kelce

travis kelce and taylor swift

“The Alchemy”

Swift didn’t start dating Travis Kelce until the summer of 2023, but their relationship was seemingly still referenced on her latest album.

In the song “The Alchemy,” the pop star makes several sports references about touchdowns, teams, warming benches, winning streaks and trophies that fans think prove it to be about the NFL tight end .

“The references to American football … welcome to your first song, travis,” one Swiftie tweeted on X, while another pointed out a lyric about “beer sticking to the floor,” which could be a nod to the pair’s love of the alcoholic beverage .

travis kelce and taylor swift kissing

“So High School”

Swift dropped another song seemingly about Kelce when she surprised fans with an extended version of “TTPD” just hours after releasing the original.

In “So High School,” the pop star sings about feeling like she’s in an exciting teenage romance, adding elements that allude it is about Kelce.

“You know how to ball, I know Aristotle,” she sings about the NFL star in one lyric.

Another says, “I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you,” perhaps a reference to the many packed Chiefs games she has attended throughout their relationship.

Swift even references the “Kiss, Marry, Kill” game Kelce played back in 2016 where he admitted he wanted to smooch the singer.

Taylor Swift Fans Think She Will Open Up About Her Controversial Matty Healy Relationship On Her New Album. Here’s Everything There Is To Know.

Here is some required reading ahead of The Tortured Poets Department ’s release on Friday.

Stephanie Soteriou

BuzzFeed Staff

As you are probably aware, we are now less than 24 hours away from the release of Taylor Swift ’s highly anticipated new album, The Tortured Poets Department .

Taylor Swift poses in an elegant strapless dress with layered necklaces

With the star renowned for the autobiographical nature of her music , fans are expecting to gain some insight into what has been going on in Taylor’s life since the release of her last album, Midnights , in October 2022.

This includes the surprise end of her six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn , which was announced in April 2023, and her controversial fling with The 1975’s Matty Healy the following month.

And with Joe already dominating headlines in the lead-up to the album’s release, what better time to refresh our memories on Taylor and Matty’s ill-fated romance? Here’s everything there is to know.

Taylor and Matty’s origin can actually be dated back to 10 years ago, with the two first sparking romance rumors after Taylor was spotted at his band's concert in 2014.

Taylor Swift and Matty Healy with British DJ Nick Grimshaw

However, Matty got incredibly defensive when quizzed about these reports in a 2016 interview with Q magazine , where he claimed that it would be “emasculating” to date Taylor.

Matty initially dismissed the star by saying that she “wasn't a big impact on my life," and then ranted: “If I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift, the first thing I would’ve [thought was] ‘Fucking hell I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, FUCK. THAT.”

“That’s also a man thing, a demasculinating, emasculating thing,” he added at the time.

In the years since that interview, Matty has continued to cultivate a seriously divisive public image and has been repeatedly accused of racism, misogyny, antisemitism, and being anti-Muslim.

And he actively leans into this image, even adding a skit to The 1975 ’s recent tour where he acted as though he was going to go on a racist rant before being cut off by his bandmates playing the beginning of the next song.

And Matty’s controversies came to a head at the start of 2023 when he was accused of doing the Nazi salute while marching on stage during one of his shows just days after International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Matty Healy giving two thumbs up on the red carpet

Later in January, Matty posted a screenshot of a “List of Jews” Wikipedia page to his Instagram story, which some deemed to be an unsettling reference to the records of Jewish people that Nazis kept during the Holocaust.

The following month, Matty faced even more backlash during an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show podcast that was deemed so offensive it was eventually removed from Spotify and Apple.

In the episode, Matty laughed hysterically as the host made a series of racist jibes, referring to American rapper Ice Spice as “one of the Inuit Spice Girls ” and a “chubby Chinese lady” before mocking a variety of accents.

Matty told Adam that he’d messaged Ice Spice, and was asked: “So you slide into her DMs and ask ‘What are you? A fucking Eskimo or something?’” The star laughed and replied: “Yeah, that's what I was like, you fucking…” before saying something unintelligible.

Matty then encouraged Adam to do an impression of Japanese people working in concentration camps, and he could be heard laughing uncontrollably at the racist stereotyping as the host mocked the Japanese accent.

In the same podcast, Matty nonchalantly admitted to masturbating to Black women being “brutalized” on an extreme pornography website that is renowned for its controversial videos that have been branded “ abuse porn .”

In April 2023, Matty apologized to Ice Spice for his comments on the podcast, insisting during one of The 1975’s New Zealand shows that his “joking got misconstrued” and that he feels “a bit bad” about potentially offending the young rapper.

Taylor’s rekindled affiliation with Matty was soft-launched in January 2023, when she was still publicly in a relationship with Joe. At the time, Taylor simply gave a surprise performance at The 1975’s London concert, singing her hit “Anti-Hero” and an acoustic cover of the band’s song “The City.”

Then, on May 3, 2023, it was reported that the two were dating, with a source telling the Sun : “She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago, but timings just didn’t work out.”

“They are both massively proud and excited about this relationship and, unlike Taylor’s last one — which was very much kept out of the spotlight, deliberately — she wants to ‘own’ this romance and not hide it away,” they added at the time.

Initially, fans didn’t believe the report — especially as news of Taylor and Joe’s split had broken less than a month earlier on April 8. However, just two days after the news broke, Matty was spotted with Taylor’s friends and family in the VIP tent at her Eras Tour in Nashville.

He ended up attending all three shows that weekend, and even performed with Taylor’s opening act, Phoebe Bridgers.

Things escalated from here, with Taylor and Matty pictured holding hands , spotted kissing , and filmed looking cozy as they left a party together. Matty was also seen entering and leaving Taylor’s New York City home on multiple occasions, as well as joining her at a recording studio.

Perceptive fans then noticed that both stars mouthed the exact same words during their respective shows in an apparent secret declaration of their love.

During Matty’s May 3 concert, he mouthed: “This is about you. You know who you are. I love you,” while on stage. Taylor did the same thing during her May 5 show in Nashville.

Suffice to say, Taylor’s involvement with Matty did not go down well with her fans, who were left disappointed by her decision to associate with him, considering his problematic history. Understandably, Jewish, Black, and Asian Swifties were particularly upset.

But as exposé after exposé on the concerning things that Matty had done started to emerge, Taylor appeared to remain defiant. Although she had previously teased that she sees everything her fans say about her online, she seemingly made a point of ignoring the offense that her new relationship was causing.

In fact, the star was accused of doubling down on her decision to date Matty amid the backlash. Just days after his comments about masturbating to “brutalized” Black women resurfaced, she made the uncharacteristic decision to reference her personal life during her Eras Tour show.

In a pointed statement, Taylor suggested that she was unfazed by the online discourse, telling fans: “I’ve just never been this happy in my life — in all aspects of my life — ever before.”

And while some defended Taylor by saying that she shouldn’t be held accountable for her boyfriend’s actions, others refuted this by pointing out that she was actually being criticized for her own actions — the decision to align herself with someone who had made so many problematic statements, as well as the implication that she was unbothered by the concerning things that he’d said and done.

Taylor ended up being branded “ another complicit white woman ,” and horrified fans even said that they were canceling their preorders for her upcoming album and selling their tickets to her tour.

Amid all of this, Matty shot down the public outrage surrounding him as he shared his thoughts on the situation in an interview with the New Yorker .

He claimed: “It doesn’t actually matter. Nobody is sitting there at night slumped at their computer, and their boyfriend comes over and goes, ‘What’s wrong, darling?’ and they go, ‘It’s just this thing with Matty Healy.’ That doesn’t happen.”

“If it does, you’re either deluded or you are, sorry, a liar,” Matty went on. “You’re either lying that you are hurt, or you’re a bit mental for being hurt.”

“It’s just people going, ‘Oh, there’s a bad thing over there, let me get as close to it as possible so you can see how good I am,’” he then insisted. “And I kind of want them to do that because they’re demonstrating something so base level.”

Matty was called out for his reductive remarks on social media at the time, with people accusing him of having a “lack of empathy” and “hiding behind satire/edgy humor.”

As the scrutiny reached fever pitch, Taylor announced that she had collaborated with Ice Spice for a new version of her 2022 song “Karma” — a move that was branded “ insidiously calculated ” as Taylor was accused of using the rapper to distract from the growing backlash surrounding her relationship.

Taylor Swift and Ice Spice performing on stage

It was pointed out that this was the first time that Taylor had ever collaborated with a Black woman in her 17-year career, and the timing was considered to be very “ telling ,” with many theorizing that Ice Spice teaming up with Taylor was supposed to imply that Matty’s past podcast comments were a non-issue.

Things escalated when Adam Friedland, the host of the podcast in question, suggested that Taylor’s collaboration with the rapper was a direct result of Matty’s involvement in the controversial episode. He retweeted an account reporting on the collaboration and simply wrote: “You’re welcome.”

Then, on May 29, photos of Matty wearing merchandise for Red Scare , a cultural commentary podcast hosted by Dasha Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan, emerged online. Matty is good friends with Dasha, and he has regularly been spotted with her over the years; however, his continued support for her podcast amid his relationship with Taylor raised eyebrows.

This is because Dasha and Anna have been less than complimentary of the US singer in the past, and in their podcast episode “ Make Americana Great Again ,” the two hosts made cruel comments about Taylor’s body, sexual assault case, and even her mom — who they referred to as “Miss Piggy” — in a 30-minute tirade.

Just days later, on June 5, it was reported that Taylor and Matty had broken up. At the time, it was said that they had “decided to just go back to being friends” and that “nothing complicated happened.”

But fans questioned this narrative when a video of Taylor choking up while performing her heartbreak song “I Don’t Want to Live Forever” emerged online from one of her first shows post-split.

In the clip, Taylor looked emotional, and her voice audibly cracked as she sang the line: “Wondering if I dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life,” prompting speculation that this is how she felt about Matty.

Around the same time,  TMZ reported that Matty’s various controversies were not a factor in the relationship ending. They stated that Taylor was well aware of Matty’s reputation before they started dating and that she “simply blocked out” the “noise” from her concerned fans.

Taylor started her relationship with NFL tight end Travis Kelce a few weeks after her and Matty’s split, and the two are currently still together and looked seriously loved up during a recent appearance at Coachella .

Taylor has never publicly commented on her romance with Matty, but fans believe he will be referenced to in her upcoming songs, with speculation mounting when the track list was revealed in February.

And with The Tortured Poets Department finally being released on Friday, we thankfully don’t have much longer to wait before finding out.

Taylor Swift, Beyoncé Fans at Odds Over Post Malone's Instagram Salutes

Taylor swift & travis kelce leave coachella set trailing behind biebers, taylor & travis at coachella leave ice spice set ... trailing behind the biebers, others.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were big time power-coupling at Coachella -- and had some other lovebirds tagging along to make it a big old group outing ... no third wheels allowed.

The pop star was out in force Saturday night in the desert -- and she had her BF by her side ... not to mention a newish-looking squad, including other couples ...   Justin and Hailey Bieber were in the mix -- as were Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan (SaBrarry?)

They were all leaving what looked to be the backstage area from Ice Spice 's set -- where we'd seen them earlier -- and the whole crew trickled out almost in single-file line fashion.

Hailey was the first recognizable face seen to get outta Dodge, followed by JB ... and then SC and BK trailed behind with other randos in tow. Tay Tay and Travis were last to leave ... and they waved hello to the adoring fans who spotted them as they were making an exit.

It seems Taylor and co. were shuffling back and forth between the VIP area and backstage ... 'cause there are clips of all these peeps watching the show, and they were facing the stage.

No surprise that Barry and Sabrina are tight with Taylor and Travis -- Sabrina opened for Taylor earlier this year and they're obviously pals. The more surprising run-in here lies in the Biebers' presence -- frankly, it seems to fly in the face of perceived historic allegiances .

Of course, we're referring to the Selena /Hailey feud / non-feud -- and the fact that Selena is BFFs with Taylor ... and the fact that Hailey once gagged on TV at the sound of TS's name.

Yada, yada, yada ... mean girls ... since-deleted posts/comments ... you get the picture.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

Point is ... it's a little strange to see the Biebers in the same orbit as Taylor -- but we don't really see them cozying up with her and Travis in this clip -- and even during the set, they didn't really appear to be hanging out either. They might've just been in the same space.

Either way, regardless of who was around them or not ... Taylor and Travis were completely into each other and looked hyper-focused on one another -- locking lips constantly.

It's also interesting to see Taylor pop up at Coachella Weekend 1 -- 'cause folks expected to see her next weekend ... when Swifties believe she'll hit the stage to plug her new album.

Might as well get our palates ready early ... 'cause she's probably gonna be back soon.

As for Taylor and her "squad" ... hey man, this gal rolls deep . We've seen it time and again .
