Cocktail Bar
On the Rocks
Champagne Lounge
The Aquatic Club
Mezze Lounge & Bar
Blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor lounging, The Dock is the ultimate space for unwinding. Offering an alfresco-chic lounge-side service, its menu is focused on light and refreshing drinks and enticing bites to share. Drink in the Mediterranean flair with craft cocktails made with orange blossom, rose water, or pomegranate — they pair perfectly with the sweeping ocean views, fiery sunsets, and starry nights you’ll see from one of The Dock’s daybeds.
The Dock House
And there’s (a lot) more.
Every single one of our bars has been specially designed to offer a one-of-a-kind experience. Whether you're exploring indoors or hanging outside, you’re always one step closer to finding another fabulous spot — and your next new-favorite drink.
Gym & Tonic
An open deck oasis bringing together everything Vitamin Sea stands for, Gym & Tonic offers fresh and cold-pressed juices, made-to-order shakes, and stirring Reset Cocktails that are healthy in spirit (like, by putting the spirit in healthy). Whether after working up a sweat or while relaxing at the Well-being Pool, there’s no better way to thank yourself for taking care of your mind, body, and soul with a toast. So embrace our detox-retox philosophy and cheers!
Athletic Club Bar
Whether you’re looking for the right spot to refuel after a workout sesh or to bask in sweeping ocean views with an ice-cold beer in hand, the Athletic Club Bar offers everything from restoring ginger shots to cold-pressed juices and low-ABV cocktails that will make you fall in love. A sporty bar right in the heart of the (social) action, it’s just steps away from the active training zone, boxing ring, basketball court, and oversized deck games, so every sip comes with a side of lively ambiance.
Draught Haus
Casual yet discerning beer-connoisseur-approved, our stylish Draught Haus features a variety of beers on tap, a wide range of artisanal bottles, boiler makers, and shot cocktails. Sip on artisanal brews while drinking in endless ocean views from a cozy window seat, stop for one of our “All Day Breakfast” shots before heading out, or just grab a growler and bring your expertly curated craft beer with you.
Located on our sun deck right above the pool (because any pool area worth its sea salt should have more than one bar), the Sun Club is the go-to spot to grab a frozen drink, sip on a tropical cocktail, and post up for optimal sun-soaking during the day, and people-watching during our iconic nighttime pool parties.
The Social Club Diner & Bar
The Social Club is an ode to carnival classics both in fare and in spirit. From fairground staples like pretzels and hotdogs to modern takes on milkshakes and floats (which can be spiked with a lil booze for an adult-friendly upgrade), our signature drinks and treats are just as photogenic as they are stacked high with cookies, frosting, and candy. But we don’t call it “social” for nothing — this dinner is perfect for playing a good game of air hockey, shuffleboard, foosball, and more.
The Loose Cannon
Inspired by seaside bars in Brighton, UK, The Loose Cannon is a nautically-themed dive bar boasting lively music and animated processions with equally spirited bar keeps ready to ignite a heart chant at a moment’s notice. With uncharted trivia nights, a real cannon to kick off the festivities, and a signature drink menu featuring hits like El Capitano’s Gun Powder and the mischievous Shoctopus, The Loose Cannon is one of those places to go for the drinks and stay for the fun.
The Red Bar
Tucked in the back of Razzle Dazzle, the Red Bar offers as much flair as its parent eatery. With a signature drink menu featuring bottomless drag-inspired bevvies like the glittery champagne-based “YAAASSS Queen,” some of the most Instagram-worthy blends ever seen (you can’t miss the popcorn old-fashioned), and beloved concoctions with a new spin, The Red Bar’s cocktail program is definitely one to raise your spirits.
The Grounds Club
It’s early. You’re still a bit blurry, and coffee is the only thing you can focus on right now. Luckily, the Barista on board is pouring a Double Shot Almond Milk Latte in the most satisfying way you’ve ever seen, and this is exactly what you can’t start your day without. And when the fresh flavors of Intelligentsia’s direct-trade coffee explode in your mouth, you’ll know that The Grounds Club is just like your favorite coffee shop at home… but with the very best brews and unrivaled ocean views.
A bar lineup like no other
While our Crew keeps the energy, cocktails, and good times flowing — we’ll hand the mic over to our Sailors. They’ll tell you everything (and more!)

Bar Tab Bonus
It pays to prepay
Pre-purchase a $100, $200, or $300 bar tab and score bonus onboard credit to boost your drink experience..
Bar Tabs are pre-purchased onboard credit set aside specifically to be spent on drinks — from alcohol bevs to fresh-pressed juices and elaborate coffee drinks. Available for purchase up until 24 hours before sailing , our Bar Tabs can be used both on the ship and at The Beach Club at Bimini. Pre-purchase a $100, $200, or $300 Bar Tab and score bonus onboard credit to boost your drink experience. They are not available for purchase on the ship and are non-refundable once your voyage starts, so if you like fresh-pressed juices, barista-crafted specialty coffees, phenomenal mocktails, spirited drinks, and alcoholic bevvies, make sure to add a Bar Tab to your booking. Bottoms up!
Apart from helping you stick to your budget, we’ll give you up to $50 on onboard credit to be spent on premium drinks whenever you add a Bar Tab to your booking. Go ahead, and reward yourself for your fabulous preplanning skills with a few extra drinks. Terms and Conditions apply
No. We offer fair prices across the ship and have already included all essential drinks and tips in our voyage fares. This way, you don’t have to deal with trying to calculate how many drinks you need to have per day to see "value" in a package, unreasonable rules like requiring everyone in a cabin to purchase a drink package (and ending up subsidizing the drinking habits of fellow Sailors), or paying for brands you don’t even like.
Of course! Your Bar Tab covers any premium drink — whether it’s for you, your cabin mate, or someone you just befriended on board. Different than traditional packages, we don’t require every Sailor within a cabin to purchase a Bar Tab, so you can feel free to not get one or use yours however you like.
Simply head over to the My Account section and you’ll be able to lock it in.
We love finding reasons to celebrate. And from our partnership with Möet Chandon Impérial®, our curated champagne lounge, and one-of-a-kind champagne tables, you can see that we take our champagne pretty seriously.
SHAKE. POP. FIZZZZ
Save water. Drink champagne.
Uncharted culinary delight on the high seas.
With everything from a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence-winning restaurant to fresh, ship-made pasta, full-on Korean bbq, and late-night breakfast already included, it’s pretty easy to indulge on board.

Soggy dollar bar.
Famous for The Original Painkiller – originated and perfected at Sandcastle’s Soggy Dollar Bar in the 1970’s, this smooth, full-flavored rum cocktail has become the essence of Caribbean imbibing. The correct concoction of premium dark Rum, Cream of Coconut, Pineapple and Orange Juice (proportions are secret), topped with fresh grated Grenadian Nutmeg makes the swim (no dock) to the Soggy Dollar Bar worth the effort.
Rebuilt after the hurricanes, Soggy Dollar has great food, with a knockout view. Perhaps it’s the setting of White Bay, the thirst from the swim, the perfect blend, or just because of the tradition of the Original Painkiller at the Soggy Dollar— whatever the reason, welcome and enjoy!
Soggy Dollar is family friendly and is located near a few other great stops in the British Virgin Islands, including Sandy Cay and Bee Line Beach bar.

Cruise to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
St. croix shore excursions, amazing experiences coming soon., sorry, there are no excursions for this port at this moment., things to do in st. croix.
GET YOUR RUM ON
Cruzam Rum Distillery, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
Taste your way through the history of rum on St. Croix as you tour the Captain Morgan and Cruzan Rum distilleries, where you’ll learn about the process of making the Caribbean’s favorite spirit.
FORTIFIED FINDS
Canon Fort Frederik, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
Check out the hard-to-miss yellow brick Fort Christiansvaern in Christiansted for a vivid history lesson— it’s the best preserved Danish-built fort in the Virgin Islands. You can also visit an art gallery and several historical exhibits in Frederiksted’s Fort Frederik.
A BETTER POINT OF VIEW
Point Udall is the easternmost point in the United States. It’s about a half-hour drive from Christiansted, but well worth the journey— once you arrive at the rocky bluff, you can wander up a paved road to the overlook for the best views on the island.
LOCAL CUISINE
St. Croix’s culinary scene is as diverse as its landscape. Stop in at any small local eatery and you’ll find fresh seafood dishes, like Cruzan Style Gundy (balls of ground herring and spices), that nod to French, Thai and Dutch cuisine— with plenty of West Indian spice and favorites like conch fritters. You’ll also find boardwalk bars serving traditional American fare, like hamburgers with rum punch.
There’s no shortage of interesting dive shops in either Christiansted or Frederiksted. But the best places to shop in St. Croix are the duty-free shops offering jewelry, liquor, clothing and souvenirs.

Top Rated Virgin Island Boat Charters & Tours on TripAdvisor and Google!
My wife and I have been in St. Thomas on our honeymoon and were recommended Stormy Pirates charters for a fun day on the water. We ended up taking the 7 hour sea turtle snorkel and sunset sail tour with Brandon and Amanda and had a freaking blast! The boat was beautiful, the trip was better than described and the crew showed us a fantastic time. 10/10 would recommend and we will absolutely be coming back! Thanks guys!
My husband and I had the best time on this excursion. This was by far the highlight of our trip!! We got to see different islands and learn so much history about St John and St Thomas. The crew also had snorkel gear so we could snorkel each island we stopped at, we saw a sunken ship, sea turtles, stingrays. The crew was OUTSTANDING, Kenny and Susanna went above and beyond and made the best cocktails. This was such a wonderful experience!! Highly recommend stormy pirates. (I even changed my pick up from st Thomas to St. John and they were so accommodating)
What a way to spend a day. Met the crew at the dock, jumped on the boat, and had the time of our lives for the day. A couple of snorkel stops, a little sightseeing of the beautiful island of St. John, and then lunch at Lime Out Taco Bar. Lime Out was an excellent experience floating in the clear water surrounded by a beautiful area and eating some great tacos. This was my second trip with Stormy Pirates, and I brought the entire family as my first trip with them was great. Thanks to the crew for making this a day to remember.
We had an amazing time on their Sale Pending 2 boat. Captain Rich was funny and a really good Captain, we knew we were in good hands and safe. Tara, the crew member was so authentically attentive and caring. We had drinks all day long, sodas, water, punch, cocktails. They had fruit and muffins waiting, a scheduled pizza delivery on the boat, snorkeling equipment and the knowledge the guests needed to find sea creatures. So many small detailed extras to make the day superb!
Virgin Voyages Drink Prices & Drink Menus. A Guide to the Bars & Lounges on Board.
Virgin Voyages is nearly “all-inclusive” barring their alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees. Some of the most common questions that come up when people ask about Virgin Voyages are about their drink prices, packages, and drink menus. So let’s get to the details and answer some of those questions.
Common questions about Virgin Voyages drink prices and menus
Are drinks included on virgin voyages.
Soda, water, tea, coffee, and juices from the fountain are included, however alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees are an additional cost.
How Much Are Drinks & Cocktails on Virgin Voyages’ Cruises?
Surprisingly, they’re not inflated and are pretty reasonable for a cruise. Unlike other cruise lines, Virgin Voyages has priced its beverages similarly to land-based resorts and hotels.
Does Virgin Voyages have a drink package?
Not really, but they do have what they refer to as a “bar tab” where you prepay for drinks and they often bonus extra funds as a promotion. Read more about Virgin Voyages Drink Packages here .
Moet Prices Have Changed!
On all of the menus you’ll find online about Virgin Voyages drink prices, you’ll see Moet Chandon priced at $95/bottle. The price has increased now and Moet on Virgin Voyages costs $105/bottle!
The Manor Drink Menu & Prices
For those that aren’t familiar with The Manor, it is the amazing “night club” and entertainment spot on all Virgin Voyages ships. With a swanky and elegant bar with a seating area and bottle service, it replicates some of the nicest land-based clubs & entertainment venues.
Here’s what Virgin Voyages says about The Manor:
The two-story, three bar space, named after Richard’s first recording studio, is inspired by a classic theatrical zeitgeist layered with a moody and sexy ’70s, punk vibe. Ground breaking shows will kick the night off before it transitions into a mind-blowing, goodbye-early-morning-workout nightclub. Virgin Voyages

Sip Lounge Menu & Drink Prices
Sip Lounge is the quiet, upscale bar area designated as a “champagne & caviar” bar, but it’s more than that. You can get a full range of cocktails, wine, and champagne while relaxing in the comfy velvet lounges and people-watch for hours. Afternoon tea is also served in this lounge area.
Here’s what Virgin Voyages says about Sip Lounge:
Our curated champagne lounge, SIP, was designed to satisfy all your champagne and caviar needs. From an afternoon tea menu to an effervescent nightcap, this is the spot to come to whenever you’re craving a twist on a classic cocktail or a sparkly refresher in the form of a glass of bubbles. Virgin Voyages
On The Rocks Bar Menu
On The Rocks is the central meeting point of any Virgin Voyage ship where everyone gathers to experience a wide range of spirits, wines, and champagne. The bar is a blend of chic lounge mixed with entertainment space where live music and trivia can be found at various points throughout the day.
What Virgin Voyages says about On The Rocks
Shake it, stir, pour it, and procure it It’s the can’t-miss cocktail bar on board. Our mixology bar on board focuses on aged spirits poured over ice (hence the name), and is the perfect place to make bold choices…. with a twist. Or really shake it up (wink), and challenge our mixologists to make you something extra special. Forget the menu and tell the bartender what flavors you lik then watch as a unique masterpiece is created before your very eyes. Kick-start the evening or round out the night with a cocktail that’s perfectly crafted for you. Virgin Voyages
The Dock Bar & Dock House
The indoor/outdoor bar and lounge concept at the rear of the ship has multiple bars as well as table service and small bites with a Mediterranean flair. Great for lounging and overlooking the wake of the ship while sipping on various wines & special cocktails offered daily.
Draught House Beer Prices & Menu
The Draught House is really just a bar off to the side with about 10 beer taps and other beers by the can / bottle. It’s unfortunate that this seems like an afterthought on the Virgin ships as there is no real vibe or apparent purpose. A few simple chairs and tables in a space with mostly empty beer taps is not very inviting or interesting. This was one of our biggest disappointments on the entire ship.
Here’s what Virgin says about the Draught House
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder at the Draught Haus. A selective beer drinker’s go-to, Draught Haus features a variety of beers on tap, a wide range of artisanal bottles, boiler makers and shot cocktails. This airy beach bar meets stylish craft beer house provides plenty of places to sit back and sip, or just grab a growler for those ‘bring your brew with you’ kind of days. Chill, casual but discerning beer connoisseur approved You can always stop by for breakfast where we serve our “All Day Breakfast” shots. Virgin Voyages

Any low Carb beers & low sugar tonic?
I don’t recall seeing low carb beers (I know our friends asked for M. Ultra and it wasn’t there, but not sure about others) … as for the tonic. Unfortunately they didn’t have any tonic other than what came out of the gun 🙁 – I asked, since FeverTree diet tonic is my fav! Kind of a bummer.

All About the Virgin Voyages Alcohol Package & Drink Prices
We love Virgin Voyages and one of the reasons why is the way they handle drink packages. At the same time, we know this won’t be the best choice for other people who are big drinkers.
When you are cruising on one of the other large cruise lines, there are usually several drink packages with one for soft drinks and various types of alcohol drink packages.
Virgin Voyages does not have drink packages but instead deals with it completely differently.
Drink on Virgin Voyages
- Coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks are free.
- There are no drink packages, but alcohol is more affordable per drink, cheaper than most restaurants in any major US city.
- A bar tab can be purchased which gives you a discount on drinks.
- Regular promotions include free bar tabs.
- Gratuity is included in your cruise price.
Onboard Drink Offerings :
- Virgin Voyages includes basic beverages in the fare, such as still and sparkling water, non-pressed juices, sodas, teas, and drip coffee.
- Instead of traditional drink packages, Virgin Voyages introduced a pre-paid “Bar Tab” system.
- Guests can pre-purchase credit for their Bar Tab and use it to buy alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees onboard.
- Sometimes, they may offer additional bonus credit for those who pre-purchase a certain amount of Bar Tab credit before sailing.
- Virgin Voyages offers a variety of drink options including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.
- The cruise line emphasizes its commitment to quality, and this extends to the selection of beverages available.
Virgin Voyages Drink Prices
Wine – Most are $7-$9 a glass
Beers – $5-$9
Simple Cocktails – $9
Speciality Mixed Cocktail – $11-15
Specialty Coffee – $3-$6
Can I use my Bar Tab to buy drinks for others?
Yes, in fact, it is not unusual for people to be trying to use their bar tab up the last night of the cruise by offering drinks to other people.
What’s Virgin’s policy for bringing alcohol on board?
You are allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom.
How Does Virgin Voyages Drink Packages compare to other cruises?
For most people, drinks on Virgin Voyages will end up being more affordable than a drink package on the major cruise lines. For example, the Royal Caribbean drink package is usually around $80-$100 for their premium drink package. You would need to drink over 10 drinks a day to match that price.

We had a wonderful time with Caribbean Sea Adventures. We did a sunset cruise on Celebration and it was amazing. There was even live music on the boat by local St Croix artists Lady Friend!

Our sunset sail on the last evening of our trip was wonderful. Captain John and Morgan were great. It was a gorgeous sail from Christiansted almost to Buck Island just in time for the sunset. Plenty of drinks served onboard and our choice of music.
Michele and Joey provided us with a fantastic sunset cruise!! They were so knowledgeable- gave us so much great information about the island and we could not have had a better experience!!

Top Cocktails You Have to Drink While Sailing Round the British and US Virgin Islands
When it comes to sailing the British and US Virgin Islands , rum is the spirit of choice for signature island drinks after a fun day spent yachting. Distilled from sugar cane molasses, the very word is synonymous with the Caribbean , conjuring up images of tropical islands and relaxed sailing adventures. Whether you’re lazing at anchor or unwinding on a sugar-white beach, these famous rum cocktails are guaranteed to put you in a laid-back tropical frame of mind.
Join us on a luxury trips around the British and US Virgin Islands and sail with style.
Banana Daiquiri
The daiquiri, the granddaddy of rum cocktails (created in Cuba during the Spanish-American War), would be aghast at the neon-colored adult slushies spawned by the recent craft cocktail movement. But not so the wholesome banana daiquiri, birthed in the 1950s at the Mountaintop Bar on St Thomas when blended bananas and a homemade banana liqueur were added to the classic combo of Cruzan rum, sugar extract, and fresh lime juice. The birthplace bar is today swarmed by tourists. Instead, try Duffy’s Love Shack, down by the Vessup Bay dock on St Thomas.
This popular and classic US Virgin Islands cocktail is one of the simplest, with only three ingredients, served in a highball glass with crushed ice and garnished with a pineapple, a strawberry, or a lime wedge. Cruzan Aged Light Rum plus pineapple juice and cranberry juice are all you’ll need for this beachy tropical treat, although coconut rum kicks up the Caribbean flavor a notch. Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, on St Thomas, conjures a mean (and delicious) Raspberry Mango Bay Breeze using Cruzan Raspberry Rum and Cruzan Mango Rum. You can even hop aboard Bolongo Bay’s Heavenly Days catamaran and enjoy your Bay Breeze special on a sunset cruise.
The Bushwacker
Invented in 1975 at The Ship’s Store & Sapphire Pub, on St Thomas, this sweet and creamy delight is named after a customer’s Afghan hound, Bushwack. Don’t be fooled by the innocent chocolate smoothie look: this frozen concoction is infamously strong. Most island bars mix at least five spirits – typically one or more Cruzan rums, plus Bailey’s Irish Cream, Kahlua, and Amaretto – and blend the liquors with ice, or a big dollop of ice cream, and chocolate syrup. Drop anchor at the Sapphire Beach Bar, which whips up a unique blend of vodka, Kahlua, Dark Crème de Cacao, Coco Lopez, and a splash of triple sec sans the rum.
Cruzan Confusion
Cruzan mango rum and Cruzan coconut rum mixed with pineapple juice provide perfect rum therapy in the form of a Cruzan Confusion. St Croix’s Cruzan Rum Distillery produces the US Virgin Islands’ signature rums, including an entire rainbow of fruity-flavored rums at a seemingly benign 20 percent proof. But don’t be fooled! The dangerously delicious tiki punch may include as many as five different rums, which means it’s easy to lose your sea legs. Try one at The Landing Beach Bar, at Cane Bay, on St Croix.
Dark n’ Stormy
This brooding and ominously named cocktail originated in Bermuda but it’s equally popular in the British Virgin Islands, which even has a sailing regatta named for it. Officially, it must be made in a highball glass with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum and Gosling’s Stormy ginger beer (Bermuda’s Gosling trademarked the drink) over ice. Hence, some bars call it the Safe Harbour, using Cruzan Dark Rum or hearty Pusser’s rum, made on Tortola. Add a dash of angostura bitters. Garnish with lime and voila. Check it out at the nautical-themed Pusser’s Road Town Pub, beside the Tortola ferry dock.
The Painkiller
As synonymous with the Virgin Islands as sand dollars on a beach, this infamous rum cocktail was invented at the humble Soggy Dollar Bar, on Jost Van Dyke, in the 1970s. Crème de Coco, pineapple and orange juice, fresh-grated nutmeg, and a liberal dose of premium dark Pusser’s rum combine in this sweet and creamy drink strong enough to kill all pain (until the blurry hangover next morning). So, drop anchor and swim ashore to spend your soggy dollars at the drink’s beach shack birthplace, which today uses its own namesake brand of rum.

Virgin Voyages Drink Package: Bar Tab and Prices
Here’s raising a toast to all those cruise aficionados who like their sunset views served with a side of cocktail! If you are nodding your head while sipping on your pina colada, then this is for you. Prepare to embark on a delicious journey as we explore the whimsical and fizzy world of the Virgin Voyages drink package .
Unlike other cruise lines, Virgin Voyages likes to shake things up a bit (much like a good martini). Forget the traditional beverage package, Virgin Voyages offers a novel Bar Tab system, guaranteed to keep your spirits high and your worries at bay. In this post, we’ll uncork all the details about the Virgin Voyages’ Bar Tab and how it’s transforming the way we drink alcohol on a cruise ship. So, hold on to your drink, it’s going to be a bubbly ride!
Does Virgin Voyages Offer Drink Packages?
Picture this, you’re aboard the magnificent Scarlet Lady, the sun’s dipping below the horizon, and you fancy a beverage. You look for the usual drink package, but alas! There’s none! Virgin Voyages breaks the glass and pours out a whole new system. Instead of the common drink packages, they serve up their unique twist on the concept: the Bar Tab.
Unconventional? Certainly. Refreshing? Absolutely. Virgin Voyages, in its audacious spirit, has decided to ditch the traditional all-you-can-drink package. Their reasoning? They don’t believe in pressuring you to guzzle drinks just to get your money’s worth.
So, what’s the alternative? Enter the innovative Bar Tab system . It’s an ingenious plan designed to let you enjoy your drinks at your own pace, without worrying about reaching a quota. Consider it a pre-funded account that’s accessible for use during your entire cruise journey. Stay tuned as we spill the details on how this Bar Tab system is redefining ‘cruise line chic’. Cheers to that!
What Is the Bar Tab?
Got your sea legs ready for a refreshing take on beverage consumption at sea? Well, allow me to introduce the audacious Bar Tab system of Virgin Voyages ! Let’s drop the anchor here and get into the details, shall we?
In the high seas of Virgin Voyages, there’s no such thing as a ‘drink package.’ Instead, they’ve gone rogue with the ‘Bar Tab’ system – a cheeky, hassle-free concept that is as simple as singing a sea shanty. With Bar Tab, you pre-pay an amount, say, $300, for example, and voila, you’ve got $300 worth of boozy (or non-boozy) goodness waiting for you onboard. What’s more, they’ll even toss in an extra $50 bonus if you pre-pay $300! It’s like finding a treasure chest, but the chest is a bar, and the treasure is delicious drinks.
What amount should you allocate for a Bar Tab on a Virgin Voyages cruise? It depends on your drinking habits and preferences, matey. If you’re someone who loves a good sundowner (or three), or perhaps a sip of champagne with brunch, consider investing generously. But remember, it’s not a ‘drink-until-you-drop’ challenge; it’s all about savoring the experience!
Bar Tab vs Drink Package
Are you used to the old seafarer’s way of the traditional drink package? Let’s spill the tea (or rather, the cocktail) on how the Bar Tab and Drink Package compare in the wild waters of the cruise world.
Imagine a drink package as the sturdy, dependable anchor. You pay one price upfront, and that covers your beverages throughout your cruise, sort of an ‘all-you-can-drink’ buffet. It’s simple and easy, and you know what you’re getting. You pay, you drink, rinse, and repeat. Straightforward, right?
But the Bar Tab, my dear cruisers, is like the swanky, new speedboat cutting through the waves with style. With Virgin Voyages’ Bar Tab, you don’t just pay a flat rate and get a one-size-fits-all package. No, siree! You get to pick your poison. The Bar Tab system allows you to prepay a certain amount, and that becomes your credit at the bars on board. Picture it like your own personal treasure chest, only filled with your favorite beverages instead of gold doubloons.
In the battle of the Bar Tab vs. the Drink Package, the Bar Tab is the sly, sleek maverick that gives you flexibility and control. It’s the suave secret agent to the drink package’s dependable bodyguard. It’s all about sailing your course, on your terms. That’s the Virgin Voyage way!
Now, the question is: Are you ready to set sail with this nifty Bar Tab, or are you still tied down by the traditional drink package? Choose your adventure, sailor!
Are Virgin Voyages Bar Tabs Really Worth It?
Now here’s the million-dollar (or maybe a few hundred-dollar) question: “Is the Virgin Voyages Bar Tab worth it?” Hold on to your sailor hats as we navigate this exciting question.
Think of Virgin Voyages’ drink policy as the rebel child of the cruise industry, the Maverick who dances to their tune. It says, “Drink Packages? Nah, we’re doing Bar Tabs!” And let me tell you, it’s got some real rhythm.
Unlike other cruise lines where you’re stuck feeling like you need to knock back seven pina coladas a day just to break even on your drink package, Virgin Voyages takes a different approach. Opt for a day of detox with as much water, soft drinks, and fresh pressed juice as your heart desires, or for the coffee aficionados, an unlimited supply of drip coffee – without feeling like you’re pouring money down the drain!
Now, let’s chat about the Bar Tab. Picture this: a pre-paid treasure chest of $300 , waiting for you to splurge on those sunset cocktails and delightful pints of non-alcoholic beer. What’s more, Virgin Voyages throws in an extra $50 bonus credit when you purchase your Bar Tab pre-cruise, like a cherry on top of your favorite cocktail. So, essentially, you’re getting $350 worth of drinks for $300. That sounds like a fantastic deal, right?
But wait, there’s more! Your Bar Tab isn’t just confined to the bars aboard the Scarlet Lady; it’s also your passport to refreshments at the Virgin Voyages Beach Club at Bimini. Just remember, like a rare bottle of rum, this offer isn’t available onboard, so secure your Bar Tab through the Virgin Voyages website before you set sail.
So, is the Virgin Voyages Bar Tab worth it? We think it’s a resounding “Aye, aye, Captain!” And if you find yourself with leftover credit? Well, nothing wins new friends like a round of drinks on you, my generous sailor!
About Virgin Voyages “Shake for Champagne”
Shake, rattle, and pop! What’s causing the stir regarding Virgin Voyages’ “Shake for Champagne” feature? Let me enlighten you, dear voyager, and buckle up because this is a whole new level of luxe.
Imagine you’re lounging on a sun-kissed deck, feeling like the main character in a glamorous holiday flick, and you think, “A glass of bubbly would hit just the right spot right now.” So, you whip out your phone, open the Virgin Voyages Sailor app, and with a mere flick of the wrist, you unleash the most epic party trick – a magical champagne delivery service!
A few shakes of your phone and voila! A gleaming 750 ml bottle of Möet Chandon Impérial – the Audrey Hepburn of champagnes – is whisked to your location, all for a cool $95. Served in a striking red champagne bucket with two crystal flutes, it’s the perfect way to turn a mundane moment into an unforgettable memory, whether you’re celebrating or just in the mood for some sparkle.
Virgin Voyages is your genie in a bottle, granting all your drink wishes without needing an elaborate Virgin Voyages drink package. The sassy Scarlet Lady has got everything from beers to cocktails, wines, and of course, champagnes!
For those with a taste for the finer bubbles in life, the ship’s exclusive champagne bar “Sip” offers a vast selection to suit all palates and pockets. Here, champagne isn’t just a drink; it’s an experience, with prices ranging from a reasonable $9 per glass to a whopping $1,000 for the creme de la creme.
So, pack your best Hawaiian shirt, because with Virgin Voyages, you’re in for a deliciously effervescent adventure!
How Much Do Virgin Voyage Drinks Cost?
So, you’re probably wondering, “How much do these Virgin Voyages drinks cost?” and “Do I have to trade my favorite Hawaiian shirt for a margarita?” Fear not, fellow voyagers, because the drinks prices are as friendly as the cruise staff themselves.
Virgin Voyages may not offer an unlimited drinks package, but they sure do cater to a sailor’s every whim with their wide array of free soft drinks. A parched voyager is an unhappy voyager, after all.
Now, let’s take a deep dive into the ocean of options on offer.
Heineken or Amstel Light, anyone? Or perhaps a Narragansett or a Kalik? Whichever beer floats your boat, it’s yours for a wallet-friendly $5-$6 . Basic rum, gin, and whisky cocktails can be in your hands for just about $9. While the cost of wine can fluctuate, a wide variety is accessible at less than $10.
Champagne lovers, prepare to pop corks! The cruise line’s signature drink is yours for just $9 a glass. Feeling fancy? Splash out on vintage champagne costing up to $1,000 a bottle. Remember, it’s not just a drink; it’s an experience!
Here’s the cherry on top – the prices you see on the menu are what you pay. No surprise tips are added, so you can enjoy your drink and your budget, worry-free.
Want more details? Let’s peruse the drink menu, shall we?
- Draught Beer (12oz): $5-$8
- Draught Beer (54oz): $19-$29

- Spirit (single): $5-$25

So, whether you’re a beer buff, a wine connoisseur, or a cocktail lover, Virgin Voyages has got you covered. Remember, your voyage is about savoring every moment, including every sip of your chosen drink. Cheers to that!
Can You Bring Your Drinks on a Virgin Voyages Cruise?
On Virgin Voyages, you’re allowed to bring on board two bottles of wine or champagne per cabin (not more than 750 ml), but no other types of alcohol. This token from the cruise line is a wink to the “BYOB” or Bring Your Own Bottle policy that we all appreciate at friendly gatherings. In contrast to Carnival Cruise’s stricter carry-on drink policy , this approach allows for a touch more freedom. However, keep in mind that this isn’t a “sneak your mini bar on board” situation. If you’re thinking about smuggling a 6-pack of IPA in your checked luggage, hold your horses! Your luggage will go through a scan, and any unauthorized alcohol will be removed faster than you can say “Hidden flask!”
In conclusion, the “Virgin Voyages Drink Package” is an experience that’s truly off the beaten path, but in the best possible way. Instead of shackling you with traditional drink packages, Virgin Voyages lets you surf the high seas of freedom with its revolutionary “Bar Tab” system. Worried about prices? Fear not, my sailor friend! The prices are as friendly as the crew members themselves.
Remember to shake your phone if the champagne cravings hit – because who doesn’t love bubbles on demand? From BYOB to app-based champagne delivery, Virgin Voyages has redefined the traditional beverage package game. So why wait? Hop aboard the Scarlet Lady or the Valiant Lady, pop open a bottle of bubbly, and let Virgin Voyages turn your cruise into an unforgettable adventure!
How much alcohol can you take on Virgin Voyages?
On Virgin Voyages, each stateroom is permitted to bring up to two bottles of wine or champagne, each not exceeding 750 ml, onboard. These bottles must be packed in your hand luggage. While you’re free to enjoy these beverages in your cabin, consuming them in public areas of the ship will result in a corkage fee. Make sure to plan accordingly to avoid extra charges.
Do you have to pay for alcohol on Virgin Voyages?
While Virgin Voyages doesn’t provide an all-inclusive alcohol package, rest assured that their drink prices won’t sink into your budget! Beers like Amstel Light, Heineken, Narragansett, and Kalik are available and range between $5 to $6 per bottle. Cocktails and premium beverages are also available at a higher price point.
Can you drink under 21 on Virgin Voyages?
On Virgin Voyages, the minimum age for consuming alcohol is strictly 21 years and older. The cruise line rigorously enforces this age restriction. If you’re under 21, you won’t be able to partake in alcoholic beverages, but a variety of non-alcoholic options are readily available for you to enjoy. Make sure to carry a valid ID to confirm your age when ordering drinks.

Drinking Age on a Cruise: Can You Drink Under 21?
The legal drinking age in the United States is 21 years old. There’s no getting around it. If you want to buy booze, you have to be of legal age or face some serious consequences.
But what about on the drinking age on a cruise? Do you still have to be 21? After all, we’ve all heard of “international waters” — a magical place just a few miles offshore where the normal rules don’t apply. Doesn’t that mean if you are under the legal drinking age, but not in the U.S., that you can live it up?
Well, not so fast. If you are under the legal drinking age on shore, there is some good news in that yes, you can drink on your cruise… but not necessarily on the ship.
Drinking Age on a Cruise Ship in North America
Ok, first things first. Most cruises won’t let you drink on the cruise ship if you aren’t 21 years old (assuming your cruise is departing and returning to the U.S.) . Here are the official policies of three major cruise lines as listed on their websites:
Royal Caribbean The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings originating in North America is twenty-one (21).
Carnival Guests must be 21 years of age or older to be served alcohol onboard. Proper I.D with birth date is required.
Princess Cruises The age for drinking on Princess ships is 21 years old.
So if you are sailing one of these cruise lines, even with a parent on board, then you can’t drink while on the ship.
However, Norwegian Cruise Lines is more lax in their policy. If you are considered a “young adult” (meaning 18-20 years old) and you are sailing with a parent who signs a waiver, then you can drink wine and beer aboard the ship — but not cocktails.
Norwegian Cruise Lines Passengers must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol.
With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii itineraries, Norwegian Cruise Line permits young adults to purchase and personally consume wine and beer only while onboard and with the consent of an accompanying parent. Authorization will be given only when the accompanying parent completes the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form. This form can be obtained and completed at the Guest Services Desk upon embarkation of the vessel.
Drinking Age on Non-North America Sailings
Many countries have a drinking age that’s lower than the 21 years old seen in the United States. If you are sailing a cruise outside of North America, then the drinking age onboard is likely 18 years old . This usually includes sailings from Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia.
For example, Royal Caribbean makes the following adjustment for the onboard drinking age for many trips outside of North America:
- The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is eighteen (18).
Princess also specifies that the drinking age is 18 years old on its cruises in Australia, China, Europe, Singapore, and South America.
In short, if sailing from outside North America, then the drinking age is normally lower.
Drinking in a Port of Call
Once you are in a port and off the ship, the cruise line’s rules no longer apply to you. Instead, you are under the laws and regulations of that country. Therefore, if the country’s legal age limit is 18 to consume or buy alcohol, then that’s the rule that applies when ashore — not the cruise ship’s policy. Note that if you are on a cruise line’s private island, even if it is in a country with a lower drinking age, then the cruise line’s rules on drinking will apply.
For those under 21, you’ll be happy to know that the legal drinking age throughout the Caribbean is 18 years or under. In addition, a couple of countries have drinking limits of 16.
Drinking Age for Selected Countries
- Antigua: 16 years old
- Bahamas: 18 years old
- Belize: 18 years old
- Bermuda: 18 years old
- British Virgin Islands: 18 years old
- Cayman Islands: 18 years old
- Haiti: 16 years old
- Honduras: 18 years old
- Jamaica: 18 years old
- Mexico: 18 years old
- Puerto Rico: 18 years old
- US Virgin Islands: 18 years old
What if I Am Caught Drinking While Underage?
The rules are very clear about drinking on a cruise and in port. If you are under 21 and sailing from North America, you better wait until you arrive at a port before taking a sip. If you are under 18, then most ports and the cruise ship are off limits.
But what if you decide to sneak a drink anyway?
If you are on the cruise ship, there’s a chance that it could end your trip early. Carnival makes the following statement in its ticket contract:
Guests who attempt to purchase alcohol by using false identification or the Sail & Sign card of a Guest who is twenty-one or older will be deemed in violation of this policy. Any Guest twenty-one or older who attempts to or purchases alcohol for any Guest under twenty-one will also be deemed in violation of this policy. Guest agrees that Carnival has the right to disembark any Guest who violates this policy and as well as any adults traveling with minors who violate this policy or any other shipboard regulation .
While getting kicked off the ship may be a possibility, we find it unlikely. That’s not to suggest that you try and test your luck.
If you are caught drinking underage while in port, you are subject to the laws of that country. Depending on the country, that could mean serious legal issues at worst. At best, it could make you sweat getting back to the ship in time for departure.

Drinks, Dinner, Live music? Also dinner suggestion for a nice dinner for last night on the island?
25 days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe I am thinking of the wrong thing - yes there are sunset cruises (very good ones) that have alcohol included but I am thinking of the type of "booze cruise " that I see coming into port when I have been a passenger on a cruise ship - you know the ones you hear before they round the bend lol :) - where everyone is singing loudly, partying and generally all around drunk :)
If that is the type of thing you are refering to I think you maybe dissapointed, but if you are thinking of a sunset cruise with alcohol, beautiful beaches to glide by then you are on the right track for St John :)
ps: Don't get me wrong I have seen many a private charter of 6-8 people on "Ocean Runner" or "Nauti Nymph" come in after a days power boat trip around the islands where they have had a great time (ie: well drunk) but generally the "shared" trips and sunset cruises tend to be alittle more relaxed and social :)
What do you think PIA???
As far as attire I would guess shorts and nice t's or polo would be fine - STJ is a very relaxed island :)
