Pick from popular cities, mahindra xuv700 vs tata safari: which is the better three-row automatic suv.
For a similar budget, alternative automatic three-row SUVs like the MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar are worth checking out.

We are a family of six and so I am looking for an automatic SUV that would also be comfortable for my daily city commute – approximately 20km. Would you suggest I go in for the Mahindra XUV700 or Tata Safari? If you suggest the former, do you think I should wait a little so that all niggles are sorted out?

Autocar India says: The XUV700 is a superior car overall, as it packs in more tech, performance and features. For city use, the case for the XUV700 is stronger, as it has a light steering and is easier to manoeuvre than the Safari. Also, the automatic transmission in the XUV700 is smoother and you get it with both diesel and petrol. There is no petrol option for the Safari. The niggles in the XUV700 are largely with the infotainment system and should be sorted out in the next few months. Taking into account the long delivery periods for the XUV700, you may have to wait for over six months in any case. So go ahead and book the XUV700.
