Although small, the island offers various landscapes and accommodations, so where you stay will depend on what you’re looking for. For example, if you’re after spirituality and culture, the sacred landscapes and temples of Ubud are your best option.

There is a variety of accommodation options on the Gili islands, and choosing which island you’d like to stay on will depend on what you’re looking for on your Bali honeymoon. For example, Gili Trawangan has more bars and restaurants and more lively nightlife in general, with more contemporary accommodation options.

On the other hand, choose Gili Air , and you’ll find many small farms, gardens, and tiny wooden accommodations (more of a typical island experience).

There may not be beaches here, but you’ll potentially have the waterfalls, rice terraces, temples, and natural walking trails all to yourself!

Here are all your hotel options in Sidemen.

The three main islands are Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Penida. However, we recommend staying on Lembongan as it’s a bit more lively and a great base for day trips to the others. Choose one of the luxury sea-facing resorts for the ultimate luxury on your honeymoon in Bali.

Hotels in Nusa Islands 😴

Aqua Nusa

Palm tree-lined beaches, epic sunrises, and beautiful hotels are what a honeymoon in Bali’s Sanur could look like! The more southern area of Sanur lies close to Denpasar airport and was one of the original vacation hot spots on the island—for a good reason. There are plenty of beautiful hotels to choose from, as well as fantastic shops, restaurants, and even festivals! Visit in July, for example, and you’ll get to witness Bali’s kite festival in full swing, which takes place annually in Sanur.

Here are all your hotel options in Sanur.

Unlike the black sand beaches in nearby Canggu and Seminyak, the beaches in Sanur have beautiful soft white sand and shallow water, which make them popular with both tourists and locals alike. Grab a sun bed and enjoy a traditional Balinese massage on the beach — the perfect way to relax on your honeymoon in Bali!

Here are all your hotel options in Nusa Dua.

How to Visit Bali for Your Honeymoon

Bali has grown in popularity as a honeymoon destination over the last few years, meaning that there are more flight options than ever before from destinations worldwide. Because the island is small, you can fly into the main airport and be transferred to your nearby accommodation in a matter of hours, if not less!

We recommend booking a private driver for your honeymoon in Bali. You can arrange this ahead of your trip and plan your airport pick-up and itinerary with them beforehand. This often works out as being more cost-effective than taking taxis all over the island and allows you to get a local’s insight into the best places to visit in Bali.

Best Time to Visit Bali for Your Honeymoon

Bali’s rainy season spans from November to April, so if it’s sunny beachside relaxation you’re after, we recommend visiting outside of these months. This would be ideally from April to September when the days are warm, and the oceans are at their clearest for snorkeling and diving.

We recommend avoiding the months of July and August, as it’s the most popular time of year for vacationers. Plus, the more visited areas of Canggu and Seminyak get very busy.

Tip: If you don’t mind some afternoon rains, the rainy season can be an excellent time to visit for fewer crowds and lower prices on your Bali honeymoon.

1. Tanah Lot Temple

Built on a dramatic rock formation in the sea, we were smitten by the beauty of the temple and its surrounding. Tanah Lot is a famous Hindu Balinese pilgrimage site. We visited the temple in the evening when the sun was about to set and the scenery looked absolutely surreal at that time.

2. Alas Harum Rice Plantations

3 Exotic Places To Visit In Dalung North Kuta, Bali Which Will Give A Relaxing Escape!

3. Kuta Beach

visting to the temples

Our day at Kuta Beach was filled with fun and frolic. It is one of the most popular beaches in Bali and we could see why. It was crowded with tourists. The ambiance of this place was pleasant and jovial.

4. Double Six Beach, Seminyak

at beach

Thank God to numerous beaches in Bali, we hopped from one happening spot to another. Double Six Beach in Seminyak was another beach we liked the most. It is famous for mostly watching the sunset and partying. We took a romantic walk on half a kilometer long stretch of golden white sand. Looking back at it, we were really making sweet memories.

Here are all the exciting things we enjoyed doing on our honeymoon in Bali. These experiences really made our trip from better to great.

1. Water Sports Activities At Tanjung Benoa

crowded with tourists.

How could we call it quits on our Bali trip without participating in the water activities? We had a thrilling experience of river rafting at Tanjung Benoa. It added a dash of adventure in our lovey-dovey holiday.

2. Candle-lit Dinner

night view sight

Could there be more romantic experience in Bali than enjoying a candle-lit dinner by the sea? I think not. It is one of the most cherishable memories from our honeymoon in Bali. not only did we get to spend some quality time together, but also taste sumptuous cuisine. It was hands-down the best night of our life.

3. Bali Cruise

amazing view of the sea

The evening cruise in Bali was one of the highlights of our trip. There were live entertainment and a lavish international buffet. The tropical atmosphere and us floating on the water really took the experience up a notch.

Bali has got some finest and largest stores for shopping. One of them is Agung Bali. It has very reasonable prices and a lot of options to choose from, right from clothing and accessories to day-to-day household stuff. I would suggest visiting this store at least once.

Bali Vacation: A Trip That Strengthened Our Bond As Friends

pool side view

Here are the places where we stayed on our 7 days in Bali. We had an amazing experience of staying at a hotel and pool villa which we recommend ever couple to choose.

1. Ramada By Wyndham, Kuta

We spent the first four night of our honeymoon in Bali at Ramada by Wyndham. The plush property is located on the famous Sunset Road in Kuta. We chose a Superior room and the breakfast was included. We liked the hospitality of the staff. The service was great. We had a pleasant time.

2. New Pondok Saras Villas, Seminyak

We had a one bedroom apartment all to ourselves in Seminyak that came along with a private poo. We spent our time lazing around in the pool, the way any relaxing holiday should be. We made the best of our last two days in Bali. The holiday is over but I am still not out of the utopia.

rock bar in bali

These are some of the best restaurants and bars in Bali that we would like to recommend fellow travelers who are planning a trip for 7 days in Bali.

1. Queens Of India

Since I am a vegetarian, we had a little bit of difficulty finding vegetarian food on the island. There are a few Indian restaurants in Bali and we even tried some places but none of them was as good as the Queens of India. It was where we had the best Indian meal on our vacation. The restaurant was a bit pricey but it was worth it.

2. Potato Head Beach Club

One of the most happening places in Bali, we had a great time at Potato Head Beach Club. there were no entry fees to get inside but if you want a separate cabana or gazebo, you would have to spend a minimum amount to get the place to yourself. All in all, we had a blast during our visit here.

3. Rock Bar

We had the best of our evening at Rock Bar in Jimbaran. Since the place was located by the sea, we got to enjoy our refreshing drinks with the intoxicating views of the ocean. With 7 days in Bali for couples, this is a must-visit place. No wonder it is one of the most popular places to enjoy the nightlife in Bali. the deck sat on a limestone cliff over the sea and I don’t think there could be a more awesome setting to enjoy the sunset.

bali sea view

Here are some important tips we would like to convey to other travelers visiting Bali anytime soon. Hope these make your holiday hassle-free.

  • If you are a vegetarian, carry packaged food otherwise you will have to struggle to find vegetarian food on the island. Even if you do manage to find places, you won’t enjoy the taste.
  • When going for water sports, carry an extra pair of clothes as the once you will be wearing will get wet and dirty in the water.
  • Do carry adequate medicines and First aid kit for emergency situations.

How Much Does a Trip to Bali Cost?

By: Author Dan Bagby

Posted on Published: May 30, 2020

Bali is one of the most famous exotic destinations in the world. It is known for its romantic vibe, iconic rice paddies, forested volcanoes, gorgeous beaches, and coral reefs. So, the island is on the bucket list of many nature lovers. But spiritual travelers are also attracted to Bali and its superb religious sites, such as cliffside Uluwatu Temple, as well as its famous yoga and meditation retreats.

Whether you are planning your honeymoon, a romantic escapade, or a spiritual solo trip, Bali is waiting with plenty of memorable surprises. To help you prepare for your trip, here is how much you can expect a trip to Bali to cost.

Best Time to Visit Bali

Bali’s high season goes from July to August, during the Easter Holidays, or Christmas and New Year (December till 1st week of January). Your trip to Bail is going to cost the most during this time.

So, the best time to travel to this exotic destination would be just before and just after the high season. During April, May, June, and September, you can still enjoy the dry season, slightly less humid. Also, you can find amazing rooms and villa rentals with 30-50% cheaper than during the high season.

Bali Temple

Besides lower prices, sales, and promotions, the lack of travelers makes Bali more relaxed, and these months are the best time for water activities such as scuba diving, surfing, or snorkeling.

Cost of Getting to Bali

Several major airlines fly to Bali from the United States, including American Airlines, Delta Air, Singapore Airlines. Prices depend on the season, but also your departure airport, with the average being $1000.

To find the best option for you, start searching for your flight a few months before your departure date, and use a comparison website like Skyscanner . Because of the distance and time zone differences, it is advisable to allow two days of traveling time.

Accommodation Cost in Bali

You can find accommodations for any budget in Bali. A backpacker can find hostels starting around $10. Mid range hotels range from $40 a night to $200 a night based on the area, room types, and service level. Private villas on Airbnb can range from $20 a night to around $200 with plenty of well rated villas between $20 and $40.

Luxury accommodations are another story. If you are looking for the best accommodations in Bali, there are plenty of options available ranging from $150-2000 a night.

Nandini Jungle Resort and Spa Bali

Located on a lovely forested hillside,  Nandini Jungle Resort and Spa Bali  is a fantastic choice for travelers eager to learn about the Balinese way of living.

The resort is beautifully built in traditional Balinese-style, offering honeymooners the chance to stay in luxe villas with cozy balconies and jungle views, as well as butler services and glassed-in bathrooms

Other perks you can enjoy at Nandini Jungle Resort and Spa Bali are a welcoming restaurant, an outdoor infinity pool, a hot tub, a well-equipped fitness center, and a relaxing spa. Prices vary, depending on your stay, but they can begin at $2000 for seven nights of relaxation and pampering.

Hanging Gardens Of Bali

Hanging Gardens Of Bali  is a breathtaking luxury Feng Shui-styled resort set in a rainforest and overlooking the Ayung River. It is the perfect accommodation option for honeymooners looking for exclusivity, romance, tranquility.

Get ready to spend memorable nights in your swanky 1-bedroom villa with gorgeous valley views and featuring hand-carved furniture, thatched-roof with a cozy terrace and granite infinity pool. If you want something even more special, you can upgrade and add a professional 24/7 butler.

Foodies can indulge in the delicious meals served at the open-air lounge or the creative restaurant available, as well as enjoy  tasty afternoon tea sessions at the lovely library. Among the amenities, you will also find a spa with amazing riverside massages and a cutting-edge cascading pool. Prices depend on your stay, and they begin at $900 per night.

 Calma Ubud Suite & Villas

If you are dreaming about spending a romantic holiday in a serene cottage surrounded by tropical gardens,  Calma Ubud Suite & Villas  might be your answer.

The gorgeous villas have bright rooms with superb, traditional decor, promising guests the real Balinese feel. The private terraces or balconies offer relaxing views, being the perfect spot for your morning coffee.

When you want to relax, even more, you can head towards the outdoor pool to spend some refreshing moments, before you begin exploring beauty Bali. Prices at this laid-back resort begin at $120 per night, but they might vary depending on the season and your stay.

Fivelements

Beautifully located on the banks of Ayung River,  Fivelements  is the perfect accommodation for travelers who love elegance. The wellness resort is set in bamboo huts, offering guests the chance to completely relax in one of its nine laid-back suites.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Fivelements Retreats (@fivelementsretreats) on Feb 8, 2020 at 2:38am PST

Your accommodation at Fivelments will amaze you with its sophisticated vibe, outdoor bathrooms, bamboo bathhouses, terraces, or balconies with superb river views. If you choose to upgrade, you can enjoy a private plunge pool.

Among the other perks, you will find a useful shuttle service and bike hire, a raw-food restaurant with a banana leaf-shaped thatched roof, outdoor pools, healing rooms, spa therapies, as well as a delightful tropical garden.

Prices start at $370 per night, and they vary depending on your stay.

Food Cost in Bali

Bali is a breathtaking destination, and you will love every moment spent here. But this is also the epicenter for tourism in Indonesia, so an expensive place. To make sure you have the time of your life without spending all your savings, you should plan your trip wisely.

Foodies will be very happy in Bali, where they can find from street food and cheap warungs to five-star restaurants ran by well-known chefs.

If you are traveling on a budget, you should definitely check out the simple warungs and street food carts. The great part is that some of them are even better than the dishes served in the poshest restaurant. The best part is that the prices for the fast dishes start as low as $1-$1,50.

bali trip cost for a couple

The souther you go, however, the prices seem to rise. But, even there, you can eat well for $7-9 per day. At the same time, if you want to indulge in western food, the prices will be higher.

Transportation Cost in Bali

Bali is a relatively small island, and you can circle it in one day. Because of the traffic, this isn’t advisable. Also, public transportation isn’t as convenient as in other exotic destinations. In Bali, most locals have a car or a motorbike.

Bemos are vans or mini-buses and the primary form of public transportation in Bali. Unfortunately, this is time-consuming and inconvenient. There usually aren’t set prices for a trip, but they might start at around $.50.

You can also use the tourist buses. This option is easier and more convenient. Prices are usually affordable, but they depend on the routes and destinations. From Kuta to Ubud, for instance, you can pay around $5.

If you are looking for something cheap and easy, renting a motorbike is the best answer. And, in case riding a motorcycle is not your cup of tea, you can always explore Bali using a rental car. And, to completely spoil yourselves,  book a car with driver for Bali online with Klook .

Tours & Activity Cost in Bali

When it comes to exciting activities, Bali is an exotic paradise. Whether you want to enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling, explore jungles, adventure in volcano hikes or surfing classes, learn all about woodcarving and cooking, or indulge in different spa experiences, Bali promises to completely satisfy you.

And, if you are interested in tours and excursions, the great news is that there are  plenty and prices vary widely . Deep research before booking a tour is mandatory, especially if you want to find the best price.
