The trip was absolutely brilliant and highly recommended! Breathtaking landscapes, many animals and a super group! We were very lucky with the weather except 1 time. Unfortunately, we could not visit Maligne Lake due to snowfall. The personal highlight for me was the whale tour in Victoria. We saw a lot of orcas, fantastic! The only thing I would add is 2 full days in Victoria. We had 2 nights but only 1 day of that available. The morning was Butchers Garden and the afternoon was whale watching. So you could not visit the city of Victoria well.

Generally all was good, but . . . very disappointed we did not use the Nanaimo ferry to vancouver island, had to go through Vancouver yet again, then wait almost 2 hours for ferry. It would have been good to see more of the island.

Canada coach / bus tour reviews.

I have a great time! Ben is our tour guide, he’s such a great fun, knowledgeable, friendly person. He made sure everyone comfortable, safe, and ready to answer any questions we have during the tour. I did group tour before, I can tell Ben is one of the best.
Really awesome! I enjoyed it immensely plus our guide Jay was so accommodating to everyone's personal wants to the tour. Also he's really versatile and knows exactly how to time everything so we're not bothered too much by the tourist rushes. It was so great. I'm so happy I went ^^
We real enjoyed our time away.

Day 1 | Wednesday, August 7 – Home to Montreal

We begin our Eastern Canadian journey today with several pick up locations for you to join the tour. We plan to arrive in Montreal in the early afternoon where we will pick up our local guide for a two hour tour of the city. At the end of the tour we will continue on to Drummondville for the night so we can get a smooth start on tomorrow’s longer travel day. The balance of the evening is free for dinner (on your own).

Day 2 | Thursday, August 8 – Montreal to Fredricton, NB (B,D)

We continue our journey east travelling along the southern shore of the St. Lawrence River and then into the first maritime province we visit – New Brunswick. Our day on the road will end in Fredericton where a “Welcome to the Maritimes Dinner” awaits us. The rest of the evening will be free to relax on your own!

Day 3 | Friday, August 9 – Fredricton, NB to Halifax, NS (B, L)

After breakfast this morning we will continue to Bouctouche, NB to visit Pays de le Sagouine – meaning “the country of the washerwoman”. This eclectic reproduction of a prohibition era Acadian Fishing Village was inspired by the international award winning novelist, Antoinne Maillet. While here, we’ll enjoy a traditional Acadian meal. This afternoon we visit the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, before continuing our journey to Halifax where we will check in to the Barrington Hotel for three nights. This evening will be free to explore the downtown area and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant on your own.

Day 4 | Saturday, August 10 – Lunenburg & Peggy’s Cove (B)

After breakfast, we will meet with our local step on guide and travel to Peggy’s Cove to see one of Canada’s most famous lighthouses. In the afternoon we’ll spend some free time exploring the picturesque seaside town of Lunenburg – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later this afternoon we will return to Halifax where we will have more free time to enjoy the city and have dinner on our own.

Day 5 | Sunday, August 11 – Halifax, NS (B,D)

We’ll start our day exploring the local sights in the heart of Halifax. Highlights include the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the beautiful Fairview Lawn Cemetery where more than 150 victims of the Titanic are buried. We will visit the Halifax Seaport Farmers market where you can get lunch on your own and explore the many shops and stalls. Enjoy some free time prior to our “Taste of Nova Scotia Dinner Cruise” in the Halifax harbour this evening. Hear noteworthy commentary as you pass by prominent Halifax landmarks!

Day 6 | Monday, August 12 – Halifax, NS to Baddeck, NS (B, L, D)

We say farewell to Halifax this morning as we travel to Baddeck in Cape Breton. We will stop along the way for an included lunch. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to rest up or explore the area at the hotel. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and then experience a true Cape Breton Ceilidh. Bring your dancing shoes and sing along!

Day 7 | Tuesday, August 13 – Cabot Trail to Stellarton, NS (B, L)

Today we get to experience one of Canada’s most famous roadways – The Cabot Trail. A local step-on guide will provide commentary as we travel along one of the most scenic drives in the world. There will be plenty of stops along the way for photo opportunities and to stretch your legs. Lunch will also be provided along the route today. Tonight’ll have time for dinner (on your own) in Antigonish before finishing our day in Stellarton where we will stay the night.

Day 8 | Wednesday, August 14 – Stellarton, NS to Charlottetown, PEI (B, L)

After breakfast, we will depart Stellarton for Prince Edward Island. We’ll board the ferry for the 75 minute crossing of the Northumberland Strait. We’ll arrive in Charlottetown in the early afternoon where we have arranged a lunch followed by a short city tour. This evening we will attend a matinee performance of Anne of Green Gables the Musical at the Charlottetown Festival Theatre (subject to change based on 2024 theatre schedule). We will return to the hotel after the show this evening!

Day 9 | Thursday, August 15 – PEI North Shore (B, D)

After breakfast we will meet our local step-on guide for a full-day tour of Prince Edward Island. First we’ll visit Cavendish where highlights will include a visit to Green Gables Heritage Place and a drive through PEI National Park. Next we will head to North Rustico to learn about the fishing industry on the Island. Here you can also visit the PEI Preserve Company where you can browse the tastefully decorated gift shop. This evening you will be treated to a traditional lobster dinner at the Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurant in Rustico (substitutions permitted). We’ll return to our hotel in Charlottetown after dinner.

Day 10 | Friday, August 16 – Charlottetown, PEI to Miramichi, NB (B, L, D)

Today we bid farewell to PEI and travel back to the mainland over the Confederation Bridge. Once back on the mainland. We continue our journey through New Brunswick this morning when we travel to the Bay of Fundy to walk the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks. The Bay of Fundy is home to the highest tides in the world. We enjoy an early lunch at the High Tides Cafe before continuing on to Nova Scotia. After lunch we’ll visit Olivier Soapery for a lively and entertaining demonstration of traditional soap making. This evening we will check into our hotel in Miramichi, followed by an included dinner.

Day 11 | Saturday, August 17 – Miramichi, NB to Quebec City, QC (B)

We begin the trek home this morning travelling through New Brunswick into Quebec. This evening we’ll check in to the Manoir Victoria, located directly inside the walls of Old Quebec City. Take some time to explore “North America’s most European City” and enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 12 | Sunday, August 18 – Quebec City to Home (B)

Today is our last day on tour. After breakfast we board our coach and make our way back to Ontario. We’ll make regular stops along the way and you should be back to your home town early in the evening. We hope you will be filled with wonderful memories of Eastern Canada. Welcome home!

2024 solar eclipse map: Where to see the eclipse on April 8

These 2024 solar eclipse maps will help you make the best decision about where and how to watch the total solar eclipse on Monday (April 8).

map of north america showing the path of the april 8 solar eclipse

It's finally here: Today, (April 8) a total solar eclipse will pass across the skies North America, giving more than 33 million people living in 15 U.S. states a rare view of the totally-obstructed sun, and — weather permitting — a taste of some seriously strange eclipse phenomena .

If you’re wondering where the total and partial phases of the eclipse will be visible, the good news is that almost everyone in the contiguous U.S. will be able to see the celestial spectacle to some extent. But for a more detailed view of the eclipse’s path, take a look at these handy eclipse maps, courtesy of GreatAmericanEclipse.com.

Solar eclipse 2024 path of totality map

Totality is the moment that every eclipse-chaser lives for: The moment when the moon completely covers the sun’s face, resulting in a brief but eerie darkness in the daytime. The path of totality , shown in the map above, is the path of the moon’s shadow across Earth’s surface.

On Monday (April 8), totality will begin in Sinaloa, Mexico, then move northeast up to Texas, ultimately crossing 15 states before moving on to Canada. The states where totality will be visible are: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine — although Tennessee and Michigan will only be glanced by the moon's shadow.

Related: April 8 solar eclipse: What time does totality start in every state?

Viewers MUST be within the path of totality to witness the total phase of the eclipse; if you are off the path by even a mile, you will only see a partial eclipse, and miss out on the spooky daytime darkness. Furthermore, the closer you are to the center of the path of totality, the longer totality will last for you — up to a maximum duration of 4 minutes, 27 seconds in Torreón, Mexico.

Note: Totality is the ONLY TIME when it is safe to view the sun without protective eyewear like certified solar eclipse glasses . You must protect your eyes during the entire partial phase of the eclipse, no matter where you are.

Solar eclipse 2024 partial eclipse map

A map of total and partial eclipse coverage across North America on April 8, 2024.

If you live in the U.S. and can’t make it to the path of totality, a partial eclipse still awaits you on April 8. The entire contiguous U.S. will have some view of the partial eclipse, ranging from 99% coverage of the sun just off the path of totality to about 15% coverage far to the northwest of the path.

The map above shows how much of the sun’s disk will be blocked from your location. Watching the partial phases of the eclipse — which last about an hour and 20 minutes before and after totality — means wearing protective eyewear at all times. Failure to do so could result in permanent eye damage, according to NASA .

If you want to experience the celestial spectacle but don’t have a pair of eclipse glasses handy, there are many other ways to safely enjoy the partial eclipse . These include making a homemade pinhole projector , using a pasta strainer to project the shadow of the moon onto the ground or watching one of the various eclipse live streams available.

2024 eclipse travel maps

If you want to see totality but don’t live within the path, driving or taking public transit to a city within the path may be possible. The map above shows how far the drive is to the path of totality, based on where you’re coming from. Meanwhile, the map below shows the most populated cities within the path of totality — many of which are expected to be flooded with millions of eclipse tourists on April 8.

The biggest cities within the path of totality include: San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Fort Worth in Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Hamilton and Montreal in Canada; and Torreón and Mazatlan in Mexico.

A map showing the 10 biggest cities on the path of the April 8, 2024 eclipse

Wherever you are on April 8, we wish you clear skies and protected eyes during this rare, wondrous eclipse over North America.
