Also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, its name derives from “colossal” statue of the emperor Nero which once stood outside. The Colosseum: behold the splendor and decay of the past

A great tourist attraction, with more than 7 million visitors a year, the imposing Flavian Amphitheater in 1980 has been declared a World Heritage Site together with the entire historic center of Rome within the city walls in their widest extension.

Considered one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world, the building (86 meters long and 54 meters wide) was built between 70 and 80 AD during the reign of the emperors Vespasian and Titus to accommodate up to 50,000 people ( or even 80,000) . It was used to entertain crowds with gladiator games and animal hunts, which were classic Ancient Roman forms of entertainment. Made of marble and limestone, the structure has since been damaged by earthquakes and various looting but remains an impressive vestige of the magnificence of Ancient Rome.

The Colosseum has 80 entrances and its system of corridors and stairs is still used today as a reference point for the construction of football stadiums. Today, visitors to the Colosseum enter the building from the south side, on the other hand, access is not as fast as in the days of the Roman Empire, it is better to get scheduled entrance ticket reservations .

The Colosseum tour starts on the 2nd floor. The different floors, four in all, were all built in different styles: Doric style for the 1st floor, Ionic style for the 2nd and Corinthian style for the 3rd. The floor of the arena consisted of a wooden floor covered with sand. Below you will see the Hypogeum: a tunnel system where training rooms, wild animal cages and death row prisoners once stood.

Should any doubt or dispute with said Terms & Conditions arise before booking, it is advised to contact us before placing your booking and submitting payment. Cancellation Policy We respect that your time is valuable and want you to feel as comfortable as possible when booking with us. We have a 72-hour easy cancellation policy. Does NOT apply to all Colosseum Underground Products. Any cancellations that occur 72 hours or more before the scheduled time are eligible for a FULL REFUND or re-booked(if available) at no additional cost to the client. Cancellations between 36-72 hours before the event may be transferred to a different date/time of the same tour (if available) or another tour available in our platform. (A transfer fee between 10% to 35% may be applied) Additional charges may apply for tours at higher price. Cancellation requests made within 36 hours of the tour date/time cannot be refunded nor transferred. All cancellation requests/tour changes must be made either by email [email protected] or by calling (0039) 392 533 1594. All bookings eligible for refunds are processed within 24 hours of request. Castle Park: Riverside

About 50 miles east of Los Angeles, Riverside's Castle Park offers amusement options to suit every traveler's style, whether you want to ride some rollers coasters, play a round of mini golf on one of four courses, hit up the arcade or explore the water features at the on-site Buccaneer Cove water park. Castle Park boasts 27 rides for visitors to try, including the kid-friendly Merlin’s Revenge coaster, the mild Dragon Flyer ride that takes guests into flight and the 35-foot-high Screamin’ Demon roller coaster. Performances and events such as a magic show are offered year-round, and you can join in the park's dance parties all summer long.

Pacific Park: Santa Monica

Located on the pier of Santa Monica , the beachfront Pacific Park is another boardwalk theme park jam-packed with things to do and see. You'll find 12 thrill rides within the park, including an oceanfront roller coaster and the world's first solar-powered Ferris wheel. Inkie’s Scrambler takes riders through a series of twists and turns as they spin more than 11 revolutions per minute. In between rides, families can play midway games, browse seaside shops, and nosh on favorite snacks like pizza, burgers and funnel cakes.

A stay in nearly any Santa Monica hotel or resort will get you close to Pacific Park, but properties situated less than a mile from this destination include the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel and the Viceroy Santa Monica .
