We have used CruCon for years and…

We have used CruCon for years and wouldn't use anyone else, especially during their sales! My fellow passengers can't believe how much on-board credit that we received from them! I have read the reviews on them and believe that most were caused by Covid, From what I understand, they have either bought or merged with another company and the service is much better, i.e., I wanted to change my cabin and heard back from them within a day. I also want to give kudos to Flights By Celebrity. Our original airline canceled our paid flight and Celebrity "fought" with another airline to give us the the same class without additional charge, which would have been quite a bit more!

We have used CruCon for years and they have definitely gone downhill. I guess they lost a lot of people during the pandemic when no one was booking cruises. I sent in 2 inquiries last Sunday, called them on Wednesday, did not get a call back until Friday afternoon and now they are closed Sat, Sun, Monday for the holiday weekend. They have these huge sales throughout the year but you can’t get through to find out the details.

Truly a fly-by-night outfit

Truly a fly-by-night outfit. Poorly executed travel plans that left us scrambling to fix their mistakes. Horrible flight schedule and absolutely no communication. Take my advice and go elsewhere for your travel plans.

Do not use!

Like others, have used CruCon for years to book cruises. In the last 6-8 months they have, for all practical purposes, disappeared. There is NO response to emails and can't call them. It is like pulling teeth to get an acknowledgement of a reservation. Even the cruise lines can't get a hold of them. We have 5 cruises booked through them, several future cruise credits pending and zero response! I seriously doubt they will remain in business.

Great prices, good perks.

Great prices. Offer great perks and good cruise cabin selection. They beat the pricing offered by the major cruiselines. Usually in form of cruise credits, of which some can be refunded on ship. Hence a cruise discount. Also they have a great cabin selection, which you may not find on direct booking thru cruise line. They seem to reserve the rooms, thus showing as unavailable on the cruise line websites. Now I only book through this travel vendor. They were recommended and i recommend them to others.

They give pricing that is wrong, give credits that don't show up just to make the sale, are next to impossible to get hold of and after purchase support is non-existent. Take your money elsewhere.

We loved our Hawaiian cruise

We loved our Hawaiian cruise. CruCon helped make it a good cruise thanks to OBC and gratuities and drink package! I have used CruCon for many years and will continue to use them, and in fact I’m working with one of their sales reps at the present time on an Alaska cruisetour. Don’t hesitate using CruCon Travel Agency.

No response via phone or email

Pretty much just reaffirming the frustration that everyone else is feeling. Got their email for a Memorial Day preview sale 5/22-24. I find out I have to register, and would receive instructions on 5/22. Well, it's 5/23 and I haven't gotten anything. Registering multiple times does not change the outcome, Can't look at the preview sale without the right link. Tried calling, but Sales message says leave a message, they'll call me back in 3-5 days. Customer service message says, can't talk now but please send an email--well, we know from other comments that that that won't be returned. So I'm missing out on this much heralded pre-sale. Apparently, they have plenty of people to plan their email marketing, but no one to answer emails or the phone. In the meantime, I booked my $2,400 cruise at an online agency who had great prices and actually answered the phone promptly.

Terrible customer service since Covid

Terrible customer service since Covid. Days to get hold of somebody to address changes in cruise schedule. Someone calls you and if you miss them then play phone tag!! They give you a general number to call them back (give me your extension!!!). Do not use!!

I have used Crucon Outlet for years, but

I have used Crucon Outlet for years and have booked many cruises through them. Prior to the pandemic they were ok, not the best but their perks outweighed their customer service. But now you cannot talk to a person, they say leave an email. I have left messages and emails to no avail. I leave for my cruise in a week and feel very frustrated, the cruise company says talk to your travel agent, but I can’t!

Booking cruises with this agency is one of the worst decisions I have made. I am an avid traveler and cruiser and have cruised for more years than I want to admit. If you don't mind leaving a message (I have been unable to call and get someone) and having them get back to you in ? to 5 days as stated by their recorded message great for you. As most travelers know prices are time sensitive, rooms are time sensitive, and answers to questions are time sensitive. By the time they get back to you in five days or ? your room will be gone and the likely hood of a price change for more will have occurred. Check out BBB.org for all the negative reviews there as well. I would never recommend this agency and the $50.00 onboard depending on price isn't worth the lack of service and help when you need it. Go elsewhere!

CRUCON customer service is non existent. They are open Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time. VERY slow answering any inquiries.

Horrible Customer Service

CruCon Cruise Outlet has absolutely horrible customer service. They neither answer their phones, nor respond promptly to emails. The only time I received a response within their "3-5 business days" was when I needed to update my credit card to cover the cost of a reservation I made prior to COVID (lift and shifted). One example of their poor customer service...Regarding a refund for a cruise line cancelled sailing, I emailed twice and called twice in about a 60 day period and never got any response from CruCon. I finally called the cruise line to try to get a refund. The cruise line, RCCL, said they could not help me because I booked through a travel agent. I explained the situation. RCCL called CruCon. Still no response from CruCon. After waiting another 3-5 business days for CruCon's response (that never came), I called my credit card company to reverse the charges. CruCon had just posted my refund that day. This process started on 06/06/2021, and ended on 08/29/2021. I have two other personal examples of their lack of customer service, but you get the picture. I have no plans to book with CruCon in the future. There are other cruise outlet travel agencies with fine customer service, like Vacation to Go and Cruise.com.

Great option if you are experienced cruiser and take advantage of their specials. It appears to be the same prices as the cruise lines but will throw in OBC extra specialties And/or free gratuities. Be aware that they charge a fee for cancellations so be sure that you are certain about your booking.

Their customer service is horrible. You leave a message for them to call back... They never do... You send them an email to call you... They never do .. they prefer emailing maybe so they don't get recorded...I really don't know, all I know is I won't be Booking with them again. Also they sent you the flight reservation AFTER it's too late to make any changes to the flight...

We have been loyal customers of CruCon for many years. We are frequent cruisers and have used them in the past numerous. The last few years it's almost impossible to get a call back. We recently have lost our ability to transfer a cruise to anyone else because we were waiting for a call back from them that never came. This is the final straw ... we will not be transferring any future cruises to them. My sister, who cruises numerous times a year also, has had the same experience. They will indeed be losing plenty of customers for their less than satisfactory customer service. We would not recommend them to anyone.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Their follow through and follow up are horrible. You can never talk to anyone. I have booked several cruises with them in the past, but as they have gotten bigger it is impossible to get ahold of anyone. I have called twice to book a cruise for myself and 6 other couples and was left on hold. After awhile a voice message came up and stated to leave a message. I left two in 3 days and no one called me back. They obviously don't care about their customers.

We had been dealing with Crucon and their rep Doug for several years. recently we put togther a group of 28 travelers who all booked through Doug. There was a Black Friday Sale and we asked them to look at our bookings to see if there were better fares. Worst mistake we ever made!!! Crucon is a minor league agency when it comes to Customer Service and follow up. they messsed up a number of folks going on our cruise and it wasn't until January 16th, 2024, three months later, that they finally sorted it all out. Doug himself did not even email or call us with an explanation and ignore numerous emails asking for his help. he simply said check with Customer Service for assistance. Asa, who claimed to be the CS Manager got involved and things just got worse. Avoid Crucon, they are not they agency they pretend to be.

First Time Cruise Riders. read entire review and think 2 times maybe even 3 times before choosing this company to travel with. I'm really sick to my stomach. It seriously makes me sick to know 3rd party Cruise lines are NOT TO BE TRUSTED, CRUCON CRUISE outlet TO BE EXACT. IF THIS IS YOUR 1ST CRUISE.... I PROMISE YOU PAY EARLIER SO 3RD PARTY OFFERS ARE NOT THE ONLY THING AVAILABLE.... Long story short I was there.... but never got on boat it was closed already. I booked a cruise 16th - 20th my birthday was the 17th. I made several attempts to call, and was directed to email them, with concerns and questions. Trying to get them to read emails or reply was like pulling teeth.... NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL . NEW CRUISE RIDERS there is NO WAY TO GET INFORMATION they take your payment with commission and Carnival won't answer questions if your reservation is threw 3rd party. Crucon responded to emails a week or so later it was just horrible. And you get 0 refund..... MAYBE TAX BACK IF YOUR LUCKY. And Put insurance on your Cruise. Hope this helps CRUCON IS NOT A HELPFUL TRAVEL CRUISE OUTLET... and I'll give details if it saves someones1st trip 6194947067 just don't waste your time.

Crucon used to be my go to agency for cruises. Super friendly and capable agents that were very helpful. When Covid hit, they struggled to meet the demands of customers and cancellations etc. But to this day, their customer service remains awful. No one ever ever answers a phone call. Emails, which is their preferred communication method, go unanswered or take weeks to get a simple acknowledgment that someone is even working on your booking. I've moved to another travel agency and while they are all working from home as well, they answer the phone when you call and return calls or emails. If my new agency has figured out how to work in this environment, why hasn't Crucon been able to??

Advertised prices get bumped up after you pay deposit. The person i worked with on the phone was definitely in my corner, but the company has so much legal jargon and weasel words in the agreement that they can pretty much do whatever they want after you book. AND, they get to keep some of your deposit after the unilateral raise the price! Save yourself some frustration and time on the phone, book directly with the cruise company or maybe use a local travel company you can visit in person.

I have used Crucon for over 10 years. They consistently give me the best available price. If I see a better price I give them a call and they give me the same discounts. The relationship I have with Laura is exceptional. When I was diagnosed with cancer less than 30 days before sailing they helped me with all the paperwork needed to get reimbursed. When I am looking for a cruise my first and only call is to Laura at Crucon.

I booked several cruises with Crucon and was pleased with the service. The, when COVID hit and I had 5 cruises booked through them, they were incredibly uncooperative. I asked for my money back and they suggested instead my taking cruise credits. I did not want credits so I again requested my money back and they told me the cruise line was not cooperating and would not return my money. I contacted my credit card company and in just a matter of a handful of days, the cruise line paid their portion of my money back to me. But Crucon, who takes a cut of each reservation, still refused to return my money. I will NEVER do business with them again and I recommend everyone stay clear of them.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
