ITV has been building up excitement for the next series of Dancing on Ice with the announcement of the star-studded line-up .

The upcoming series of the hit dancing competition, which sees celebs take to the ice each week with the help of Olympic figure skating champions, is due to kick off in January 2023.

2022's series saw dancer Regan Gascoigne and his professional partner Karina Manta crowned the champions, and this year's line-up includes soap stars and former footballers who will be looking to take home the trophy.

Here's everything you need to know about the 15th series of the show, including who is in the line-up, how to watch it, when the potential start date is, and who will be judging the series.

When does Dancing on Ice 2023 start?

The next series of Dancing on Ice will kick off in early 2023, however no official start date has been confirmed yet.

The competition usually begins in the middle of January, with last year's series starting on January 16.

Given that the show airs on a Sunday it's likely that this year it could start on January 15 instead.

Providing there's no interruptions to the regular TV schedule, Dancing on Ice usually airs on ITV every Sunday at 6pm and the series should last around 10 weeks.

If there are any changes to the TV schedule, viewers will be made aware of this beforehand.

Who is in the line-up for Dancing on Ice 2023?

Although it'll be a few more months until Dancing on Ice kicks off, the celebrity line-up has already been decided and ITV has started to announce 2023's contestants.

The first Dancing on Ice 2023 contestant to be announced was Patsy Palmer , with the news being revealed on ITV's This Morning .

The 50-year-old actress is best-known for her role as Bianca Jackson in EastEnders but is now a DJ and the founder of Good & Proper Hair.

As the news was announced, she told Phil Schofield and Holly Willoughby: "I just can't believe I'm the first one, thanks for that."

The next 2023 Dancing on Ice contestant to be announced was John Fashanu .

Speaking about signing up for the new series, the football legend said: "I'm so excited to be a part of Dancing on Ice. I don't think it'll come as a surprise to people that I'm very competitive - I am definitely in it to win it.

"And this may be one of the scariest things I've ever signed up for but I couldn't be more ready for the challenge!"

It was then revealed that this year's Love Island champion, Ekin-Su Culculoglu , had also signed up for the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice.

The 28-year-old Turkish actress won the series alongside Davide Sanclimenti and the couple have seen huge success since coming out of the villa, including the confirmation of an ITV travel series.

In a video announcing her Dancing on Ice news she said: “I can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned, and see you on the ice.”

Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson was the fourth contestant to be announced for the 2023 series and is planning to stand out.

Confirming the news on his YouTube channel, he said: "I'm going to be on ITV's Dancing on Ice! This is a really cool thing. I've certainly not done much ice-skating but I am so excited for the opportunity.

"I’m so excited to get into that routine and to feel like an athlete again. My biggest goal on the show is to do something that no-one has ever done before!"

Coronation Street's Mollie Gallagher was the fifth star confirmed for the dancing competition.

The announcement was made on ITV 's Lorraine and host Lorraine Kelly was joined in the studio by the actress, who plays Nina on the ITV soap.

She said: "I'm really excited. I've not really felt nervous yet, but being here today, now I'm feeling it. Back in the day, I've skated at Christmas markets but before the try out for Dancing on Ice, I went on the ice."

RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne is also part of the line-up.

Revealing the news on social media, The Vivienne said: “I'm beyond excited to announce that I will be competing in Dancing on Ice in 2023! This is honestly a dream come true and I can't wait to start training on the ice.

"To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour. I think it's a big step forward for queer representation on TV.”

This Morning announced the one and only Joey Essex as part of next year's line-up.

He told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: "I'm so happy, I'm so excited. It's more serious to what I normally do, I've done all the dating shows in the world. This is a bit more serious for me."

Love Island Aftersun presenter Darren Harriott became the latest star to join the Dancing On Ice line-up.

Appearing on Trisha Goddard's TalkTV show , Darren said: "I’ve got giant feet, I don't skate and I can't dance!

"My family has already made bets - they’re making bets that I’ll fall on the first episode!”

Who is hosting Dancing on Ice 2023?

Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield will be returning as hosts for the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice.

The hosting duo first joined the show together back in 2006.

Philip has presented the show ever since, with the exception of the three years that the series was off air from 2015 to 2017.

Holly presented Dancing on Ice alongside Phil for the first five years, but was then replaced by Christine Lampard between 2012 and 2015.

However, she returned as host in 2018 when the show came back on air.

Holly also missed out on hosting some of last year's series of the dancing competition due to testing positive for Covid-19 .

Who is judging Dancing on Ice 2023?

Jane Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo will all be returning to the judging panel for Dancing on Ice 2023.

Torvill and Dean will be returning to their roles as lead judges.

The couple rose to fame after winning the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics, making history as the highest-scoring figure skaters of all time with their 12 perfect 6.0 scores, and are renowned for the iconic Bolero routine that saw them take home the medal.

They first joined the judging panel back in 2006 and have been recreating a version of their Bolero for every final of the Dancing on Ice series since.

Ashely Banjo, who is known as the creator of the dance troupe Diversity, began judging on the show in 2018.

Last year Oti Mabuse, who is best-known for her former role as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing , joined the judging panel as a brand new face after John Barrowman stepped down from the role .

How to get tickets for Dancing on Ice 2023

As well as watching the series on TV and on the ITV Hub, fans of Dancing on Ice can also get tickets to watch the show live from the studio.

Video report by Granada Reports entertainment correspondent, Caroline Whitmore .

Celebrities taking part in Dancing On Ice 2023 have strapped on their skates ahead of the show’s official launch this weekend.

The competition, dubbed the"greatest show on ice" and hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, returns to ITV and ITVX on Sunday for its fifteenth series.

Ice royalty Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean resume their roles as head judges on the panel alongside dancers Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

Who are the celebrities taking part in this year's Dancing on Ice?

11 celebrities were already practising their triple salchows and jumps with their professional ice dancing partners as they promoted the show ahead of the first episode.

Reality star and former The Only Way Is Essex cast member Joey Essex posed on the ice with his professional skating partner Vanessa Bauer at ITV Studios at Bovingdon Airfield ahead of the competition.

Speaking after he was announced for the show, Joey said: "If you spoke to Joey Essex at 23 and 24, I could have said ‘yes’ to it but I probably wouldn’t have put 100% into it.

"I feel like doing something like this, I’m very ready for it."

The Vivienne

The Vivienne, who won the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019, wowed in a bejewelled blue velvet outfit alongside professional partner Colin Grafton.

Speaking in a new trailer, the drag artist – real name James Lee Williams – said being the first drag queen to compete on Dancing On Ice was an “honour”.

The Vivienne said: "I'm very competitive and I want to win. I want to show people a different side of me."

John Fashanu

Former professional footballer John Fashanu, dressed in an embossed suit and a navy polo neck, looked relaxed on the ice next to his skating partner Alexandra Schauman.

The 60-year-old was part of the Wimbledon team that won the FA Cup final against Liverpool in 1988, and went on to become a presenter, co-hosting Gladiators.

Fashanu admitted: “Out of all the sports that I have done, this is the hardest ever.”

Ekin-Su Culculoglu

Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu looked at home on the ice alongside partner Brendyn Hatfield as the pair posed in dark outfits with glittery detailing.

In the trailer, the 28-year-old, who won the ITV dating show alongside Davide Sanclimenti last year, said: “Performing is a new adventure for me.

"I’m nervous about falling on my bum,” before a montage of clips showed her falling on the ice.

Carley Stenson

Former Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson and her partner Mark Hanretty wore beaming smiles as they stood on the ice.

She played Steph Cunningham in the show between 2000 and 2011, and more recently portrayed Harriet Shelton in BBC soap opera Doctors.

The actor, who is originally from Wigan in Greater Manchester, told ITV News that she was "doing it for the North West"

Siva Kaneswaran

The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran, who is partnered with professional skater Klabera Komini, said: “I rarely dance in the band, so I never imagined I was going to be dancing on ice.”

The Dublin-born singer has previously said he was inspired to appear on the show by late bandmate Tom Parker, who died last year after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

Darren Harriott

Comedian Darren Harriott, who previously admitted he was “panicking” ahead of the show, was all smiles alongside partner Tippy Packard.

The trailer showed a variety of clips of Harriott falling on the ice as he was heard saying: “If I have a bad gig, I can just blame the audience.“Whereas if I wipe out on the ice, I can’t really blame the ice!”

Patsy Palmer

Former EastEnders star and DJ Patsy Palmer, who was the first celebrity announced for the show, stunned in a blue sequinned mini dress as she posed with skating partner Matt Evers.

She said skating is “much, much harder than it looks” ahead of the first week of the competition.

Nile Wilson

Olympic bronze medal-winning gymnast Nile Wilson, who looked cheerful on the ice alongside partner Olivia Smart, expressed his excitement to get going.

“It’s right up my street, learning a new skill and being competitive again,” he said in the trailer.

“I’m just going to give it my absolute everything and see how far we can go.”

Michelle Heaton

Former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton posed with her partner Lukasz Rozycki at ITV Studios.

Heaton, who has been open about her struggle with addiction, said: “It’s been a long journey to get here and now I’m stronger than ever and I just want to do everybody proud.”

Mollie Gallagher

To complete the line-up Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher took to the ice in a silver and black outfit, embellished with jewels, with her partner Sylvain Longchambon.

She says Dancing on Ice is the "scariest thing she's ever done".

"I’m definitely most nervous about the coordination", she explained. "As I said, I don’t have the best coordination and it really bothers me!

"My lack of coordination affects me every day. Hopefully I’m going to get better at it."

Dancing On Ice begins on 15 January at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Dancing On Ice 2023: When does it start and who's in the cast?

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Dancing On Ice is set to add some sparkle to your long winter evenings for the start of 2023.

But when does the contest begin and who is taking part? Here's all you need to know about the new season of the ITV1 show.

When does Dancing On Ice 2023 start?

Dancing On Ice is back for 2023 this Sunday, 15 January, when it will air on ITV1 from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Read more: All the Dancing On Ice winners so far

Usually, no one is sent home in the first episode as only half of the couples skate, followed by the other half in week two when there will be a skate off between the bottom couples from each of the first two episodes.

Who are the celebrities and their partners in Dancing On Ice 2023?

This season has the fewest number of celebrities taking part in years, with just 11 signed up - although there are usually a few stand-ins waiting in the wings for the inevitable accidents and injuries.

DJ and former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer has been matched with show veteran Matt Evers , who has been with the ITV1 contest since the first season.

Reality star Joey Essex seems to have struck gold by being paired with Vanessa Bauer who has been the pro half of some of the show's most successful couples in recent years.

Love Islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is skating with Brendyn Hatfield, while The Vivienne has been matched with Colin Grafton.

The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran has been matched with Klabera Komini, and Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson will skate with fellow Olympian and pro cast newcomer Olivia Smart.

Married pro couple Alexandra Schauman and Łukasz Różycki are both back again this season - she is skating with John Fashanu and he has been matched with Michelle Heaton.

Returning pro Sylvain Longchambon is back on the ice after a few years away and is continuing his run of being paired with soap stars as he skates with Coronation Street's Mollie Gallagher.

West End star and former Hollyoaks actor Carly Stenson has bagged a big name from the show's cast with Mark Hanretty as her partner.

Finally, comedian Darren Harriott completes the cast with his partner Tippy Packard.

Who are the Dancing On Ice 2023 judges?

The judging panel remains the same this series, and of course is headed up by Olympic gold medallists and show veterans Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

As well as judging the contest, Torvill and Dean will offer pointers to the celebrities in training and help to choreograph their routines.

Dean has had a less-than-ideal start to the series as he tripped over a suitcase and broke his finger just days before the launch episode.

Joining Torvill and Dean again on the judging panel are Diversity dancer and choreographer Ashley Banjo, and former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are back to host the series again.

Who won Dancing On Ice 2022?

The reigning champions of Dancing On Ice are Regan Gascoigne and Karina Manta.

Dancer and son of Gazza Gascoigne fought off tough competition from Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt to win the trophy.

Pro skater Manta is not returning to the cast this year.

Dancing On Ice returns on Sunday, 15 January at 6.30pm on ITV1.

Where is Dancing on Ice filmed in 2023?

Dancing on Ice takes place in a specially constructed rink in RAF Bovingdon near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. The show has been filmed there since it returned from a three-year break in 2018.

The airfield is no stranger to TV and film, having played host in the past to blockbusters such as Rogue One (from the Star Wars franchise) as well as Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. In addition, RAF Bovingdon is home to ITV's The Masked Singer.

Speaking about the set in the past, host Phillip Schofield said: "Yes it has ice in the centre of it and there is a competition but it will look and feel different. There is a new studio, Jayne [Torville] and Chris [Dean] are on the panel and that frees up our professional dancers to choreograph."

Prior to 2018, Dancing on Ice was filmed at the George Lucas Stage at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire.

No. 1 Boston College will take on No. 3 Denver in the 2024 DI men's ice hockey national championship on Saturday at 6 p.m on ESPN2.

Top-seeded Boston College cruised through Michigan with a 4-0 shutout to advance to its first title game since 2012.

It took overtime for Denver to clinch its spot in the national title game. Tristan Broz sniped home the OT winner to send the Pios' to its second title game in three years.

These two times met in October as two of the top-three ranked teams in the nation. Denver escaped Conte Forum with an electric 4-3 win.

Boston College celebrates in the Frozen Four

A dominant, 4-0, victory over Michigan sends Boston College through to its first title game since 2012.

The stars all shined in the win for the Eagles. Freshman Will Smith extended his national lead on points, with two goals for his 70th and 71st points of the season. Cutter Gauthier and Gabe Perreault also scored for BC to help them continue their run as the tournament's top seed.

Freshman goalie Jacob Fowler picked up his third shutout of the season, making a save on each of Michigan's 32 shots on net.

Freshman Gabe Perreault scores his 19th goal of the season on a brilliant wrap-around to give BC a 4-0 lead and inch closer to a trip to the national title.

This goal was Perreault's third point of the night after assisting on each of the first two goals of the game from Will Smith.

Boston College celebrates after a second period goal

Two quick 4-on-4 goals extend Boston College's lead over Michigan to 3-0.

Jacob Fowler has continued his postseason excellence in net this game, with 15 saves on 15 shots faced from Michigan.

The Wolverines have been active in this game, out-shooting Boston College 15-13, while also drawing three penalties. But costly mistakes have kept Brandon Naurato's club quiet through 40 minutes.

Cutter Gauthier's second period goal was his 38th of the season, the most in the NCAA since 2005-06.

Tristan Broz's overtime laser sends Denver back to the national championship game for the first time since winning the title in 2022.

Matt Davis was excellent in net for the Pioneers, with 33 saves on 35 shots from BU. The Terriers had opportunity after opportunity, especially in the extra frame, but couldn't squeeze one past Davis in the last 64+ minutes of game action.

The overtime goal was the 40th point of the season for Broz, and his second goal so far this tournament. His winner takes Denver to Saturday night's national championship game, set for 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.

🏒 Overtime in St. Paul!

A high-event third period ends scoreless, with No. 2 BU tied with No. 3 Denver 1-1.

Denver will play the first 47 seconds of overtime on the power play after BU took a boarding penalty with just over one minute left in regulation. This will be the second Frozen Four game in a row to reach the extra frame, after Quinnipiac won the 2023 national championship game in overtime.

🏒 END 2: Denver, BU tied at 2

BU's Mathieu Caron absolutely robs Aidan Thompson late in the second period to keep the score even at one.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the first period, but the second 20 minutes was mostly headlined by Denver controlling play.

At the end of two periods, we are all tied at 1, with a trip to Saturday's national championship on the line.

Denver's Tristan Lemyre took advantage of a wide-open slot by beating BU goalie Mathieu Caron to even the score at one.

Thursday's goal was the second of the season for Tristan Lemyre, who was listed today as the 13th forward for Denver.

🏒 END 1: BU leads 1-0

Boston University celebrates after scoring the game's first goal

Luke Tuch's shorty stands as the only goal in the first period. Denver managed only three shots on goal in the first period — and all three were swallowed by BU's Mathieu Caron.

With 40 minutes left to play, Boston U leads 1-0.
