Enduro Events

Europeans do know how to organize a cracking enduro competition and we are lucky to have in our country organized the World’s toughest enduro race Redbull Romaniacs. Each year we organize a trip that follows the race and our guide Gabriel is training for participating in the race.

Redbull Erzberg Rodeo is another crazy enduro event organized in Austria and probably the largest and the hardest one day competition in Europe. This is a race that we would love to visit for sure!

Romania is the Land of Enduro where you can still ride without restrictions in the most diverse terrain. People are very friendly and our itineraries and routes are designed in an unique format, riding to places from A to B and exploring the real Romania.

The majority of Balkan countries have a similar terrain to Romania: Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, etc.

Countries like Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy have a different type of terrain, mainly rocky and you will find a good selection of tour operators.

Transylvania Trails enduro tours europe is based in Romania in the heart of Transylvania. Our tours run from April to November. On our special designed routes you will discover ghost villages and medieval towns riding through forest roads and streams, steep uphill, single track, mountain tracks used mainly by shepherds, strategic mountain military roads and wide open grass country roads, etc. Travelling to Romania is easy with direct flights to Sibiu from main European cities: London, Vienna, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Milano, etc

I guide you on single trails, rocky trails, long climbs, in small creeks or over smooth ridges through the wilderness of the Croatian Mountains. Our Panorama Tour is the perfect choice for all riders who love the  initially  Enduro riding, and perfect views  with  the history of World War II.

Do you want to ride an enduro, or maybe you already drive but are not happy with the progress? Do you want to be equal with drivers who train alone for years in a month or two? The principle of Enduro training is an individual approach to each rider, and progressively raising the skill of riding a motorcycle. The training day lasts 3 hours. Two levels of training – BEGINNER (basic enduro-driving techniques) and  ADVANCED  (complex hard enduro driving techniques) After completing the  BEGINNER  level, you will be able to ride an enduro motorcycle on medium-difficult terrain, and after completing the ADVANCED level you will be able to ride difficult, and extreme hard enduro terrain. Off-road motorcycle training also significantly affects the ability to drive a motorcycle on asphalt. Trainings are held on the principle of 1 on 1 or up to 3 drivers of similar driving abilities. Every driver must have protective equipment: appropriate boots, protectors, and a  helmet!!

Trial experience

The trial is a perfect mix between a game of chess, a weightlifting trial, and circus acrobatics. Of all motorcycle sports, it is the discipline in which the skill of the rider is by far more important than the quality of the mechanical means. The trial is a highly evolved form of meditation, because it requires the ability to control, calm, lucidity, and a great athletic condition.

Motorcycle Rental

At our base in Scotland we own a fleet of motorbikes used exclusively on our Scottish tours, elsewhere we rent late model well-maintained motorcycles from select business partners, so, if you are planning touring Scotland, other parts of the UK of further afield though Europe by bike through McTours you don’t have to bring your own or try to find a rental agent in your destination country or region. In most locations we operate in Europe we can supply BMW, CFMOTO, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Yamaha and other brands on request. We can offer adventure, touring, sport and cruiser styles thus, there is a bike to suit every rider. Naturally, if you want to bring your own bike that’s just fine with us!

We first added Italy to our itinerary in 2011 and have toured there every year since. Many of our past clients have favoured the north of the country around the Italian Lakes and Alps, Dolomites and Tyrol regions together with Tuscany though we have also toured the south, Sicily and Sardinia.

Starting in Naples we have offered a grand 16 day tour (including day of arrival and day of departure) that went to outstanding locations as we cross Campania to Puglia then sail over to Albania and onwards through Macedonia and Greece before returning to Italy.

Even before I got my driving license, it was clear to me: it must be an enduro and I wanted to “dig the dirt”.

From the beginning, I had a passion for big heavy enduro bikes. If someone said that it wouldn’t work with that pile of iron, then I tried to prove them wrong!

I’m now 47 years old and it’s become much more than just a hobby for me – riding unpaved roads with a motorcycle has become one of the most important focal points in my life. It is a way of life. It is an elixir of life! It’s a happiness-maker!

In my 20 years of motorcycling, I have led off-road tours in Europe and Africa, organised meetings and photo tours, led workshops, rode competitions and, of course, I’ve travelled by motorcycle. After a break of several years due to cancer, I count myself so lucky to share these amazing experiences with my Hasi, my sweetheart.

Now, with the power of Facebook, I’ve also made it my mission to encourage other motorcyclists, both experienced and newbies into trail riding so that they too can share this wonderful experience and gain acceptance in our society for this unique hobby. My battle cry for that is “VIVA La Endurolution”!

Meanwhile I am a professional tour-guide around the world and have my own company for that, called MotoWorldTours.

Of course, like so many of us, I am always seeking to optimise my bike for my passion and therefore I am for ever adapting my current BMW R1200GS Adventure, BMW F800GS and KTM LC4 640 Adventure.

When I heard about the TET, I immediately loved the idea because to travel Europe by the trails must be one of the most beautiful things you can do. You will find ruts, holes, floods, treacherous surfaces and the occasional booby trap hazard deliberately placed by people who do not like motorcycles using trails. 14. When you use the trails and roads, you are on your own. You exercise your judgement in your own skills and your own navigation. All the Trans Euro Trail® Community Interest Company can do is show you where some of the trails are, but their legality and viability are not confirmed and can change at a moment's notice. 15. You undertake to respect and adhere to road signs, barriers and local laws. The decision to use a road or trail is entirely yours and you accept that you bear full responsibility for your action or any infringements of the law. 16. The Trans Euro Trail® Community Interest Company shall not have any liability for use of the GPX, directly or indirectly arising out of its use or in any way involving any Claim which is brought in any jurisdiction other than the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or Channel Islands. 17. Motorcycling carries risks. Adventure motorcycling adds to these: a. Mobile phone coverage may be patchy or non-existent so summoning help may be limited. If help is summoned it may struggle to reach you and you may incur high costs. Unpaved tracks vary from gravel to broken tar to sand to stone to boulder to grass. Each carries its own challenges of grip, stability and unpredictability all of which vary immensely with weather conditions which can change quickly especially in mountain areas. b. The physical demands of riding a motorcycle, laden or otherwise, off road are not to be underestimated. If you drop it, picking it up can be hard work and recovering it from a hillside, river or mud hole where it has slipped can be exhausting. Add into the mix the variable climate in Europe - subzero to high 30s and above - and heat, cold and dehydration can impair performance and make a dangerous cocktail when mixed with the complex task of off pavement riding. c. Navigation can be challenging, especially without practicing using GPS or maps on the move, on the “wrong" side of the road or with signposts in an unfamiliar script. d. Mechanical issues easily sorted out in one's own garage or home city can become much more of a challenge away from home in an area with poor infrastructure or dealer knowledge. e. Local adults and children (and animals!) may be unfamiliar with motorcycles or their capabilities and misjudge situations. Driving standards and discipline vary hugely and often the perception is “might is right” with scant regard being paid to the little guy on a motorbike. f. Local wildlife both domestic and wild can pose risks. Bears and wolves are present in some areas, snakes in others, wild roaming reindeer in the far north and cattle and dogs are all over. g. Laws and regulations are always changing across the continent, so a trail that contributors thought was legal, may not now be so. This may lead to conflict with the authorities, communities, landowners or other users - anything from a glance, a shout or a waved fist to arrest, prosecution, litigation, bike confiscation, fine or loss of licence or liberty. h. Concepts and practice of sanitation and hygiene vary immensely and medical facilities can be scarce, suboptimal or distant. i. The seedier side of humanity can also impact on you through theft, assault or fraud. j. Be aware that some areas of eastern Europe also have heightened awareness of mobile populations following the influx of refugees so you may come across desperately poor people or wary authorities. k. In Bosnia, Croatia and other locations the detritus of war still exists in the form of uncleared mine-fields. Snow, water and soil creep all shift these so that straying from established well used trails can be dangerous and, needless to say, stupid. 18. All trails and roads require you and your motorcycle to be fully insured, licensed and road- worthy 19. You should ensure that your paperwork is in order whether it be bike, breakdown or medical/repatriation insurance, licences or passports 20. You should get some practice in to build confidence and competence (and respect for your own limits and those of your bike) 21. You should ensure you are properly equipped with the right tyres, spares, protection, first aid kit, communications devices (and batteries!), luggage and camping gear 22. Ride with an awareness of the terrain, surface and in anticipation of unexpected hazards 23. Moderate your speed 24. Get bike fit. If you’ve got a medical condition then think carefully and take some medical advice 25. Start the trip with a travel ready bike. Get familiar with your bike, what daily checks to make and how to fix issues with it. 26. Take security precautions with your possessions and self 27. You agree to adhere to the Trans Euro Trail® Code of Conduct and be an ambassador of responsible motorcycling. 28. Accept that you are master or mistress of your own destiny, safety, health and security. You take responsibility for whatever happens.

Accommodation: local traditional guesthouse ➥ Day 5: Borsa – Gargalau Peak We will drive up to the Prislop Pass. From here we continue by bike. An impressive panorama opens before our eyes. The Rodnei National Park is the largest and highest mountain range in the northern part of the Carpathians, with peaks that reach more than 2300 m. We will climb to more than 2000m after a bit of easy push-bike. From here we can continue close to Gargalau Peak, one of the places where the movie Path Finder (min 9:00) has been filmed. After contemplating the view and regain forces, a descent of almost 15 km will take us in the valley. Moscow Metro 2019

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

SamsungPay, ApplePay and PayPass cards.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).
