When you arrive you still have to wait in a line to get a confirmed time. The only times available were at 8:30pm that day, or 8pm the next day, otherwise no daytime slots were available for 4 days. These times did not work for our group and we were stuck for the time we were in New York. No refunds from TripAdvisor. I would recommend purchasing tickets directly from the ‘Top of the Rock’ website where you can also confirm and secure the available days and times and print out your tickets. The instructions we received via email told us to meet outside of the museum of the left facing the building. We arrived 15 minutes before the tour start and were not able to find our guide. We called the phone numbers provided and couldn’t get a person to talk to. When the guide finally called us - 2.5 hours later he indicated we had a different meeting spot that was not disclosed. He tried to blame us for not meeting him in the right place. He said he gave our tour a At to another group when we didn’t show. When we asked why he didn’t call or text the phone on the reservation we received more excuses. One of which was that he thought out number was international - which is it not. After several calls, holds and voicemails to company, they advised to meet at Starbucks and vouchers would be handled there. Once we finally met guides, they didn’t have our tickets to museum or One World (which we added to package on TripAdvisor) after going back and forth, we were sent off with our guide and told we would have tickets emailed to us. Although Sam was knowledgeable about the city, it wasn’t what we paid for or expected. It was a filler, and the streets were much too hot, muggy and noisy to hear him. After a short visit to ground zero, we were on our own for the memorial museum and One World Observatory. (Tickets finally arrived on email) If you can’t get on one of the more reputable tours, I would suggest purchasing the One World Observatory and 9/11 Museum separately. At Ground Zero they offer on your own headsets, we didn’t do this, we were over the heat and ready to go inside. At OWO you can purchase a preferred ticket, this will supply you with a virtual tour as you stroll above the beautiful sites of NYC. (Or $15 extra with reg ticket) These views were amazing and a must see. The preferred ticket also helps you avoid the long exit line depending on time of day. 9/11 Museum - WOW! What a moving experience. We rented the self guided tour/headphones narrated by Di Nero (worth the $10) we were overcome with emotion - the devastation of that day, the photos, recordings and exhibits displayed will stay with me forever. Be sure to enter the 2nd half of the narrated tour (on a different screen of the self tour) this is all done at your own pace.
