What we say...

Reviewed in our Waterproof Test 2014: The fabric itself is very good at repelling water and the inside pocket means you can keep your scorecard dry.

The main front zip has thicker teeth than others on test with no protection behind it, so it tended to let water in when under a direct heavy spray. It’s quite loose fitting around the chest and has no drawstring around the waist, so it tends to hang quite low.

FootJoy's brand new DryJoys Tour XP rain jacket is very similar in appearance to the Under Armour in the previous slide but it comes with a few more features - as you'd expect for the doubled price tag.

This 100% waterproof and breathable garment features a 3-layer bonded fabric that reduces weight and improves mobility, an FJ 4-way Stretch Shell for extreme comfort levels and freedom of motion as well as an extra breathable waterproof barrier with a super soft tricot liner.

On top of that, there are waterproof hand and scorecard pockets and a 20,000m of Water Column Pressure system that provides maximum protection against the elements. It is comes with a three-year limited waterproof warranty.

Whether or not I'd want to pay an extra £120 on top of the ArmourStorm is another matter, but putting pounds aside, this Tour-proven DryJoys rain jacket is an exceptional product that will help keep those bogeys off the card.

You can really feel the technology behind this garment as it holds its shape well and is durable. It's also really comfortable and stylish in design.

FootJoy DryJoys Tour LTS Jacket Review

This jacket is aimed at golfers that want to play their best all-year round and be able to perform in the rain.

Key technology

The new DryJoys Tour LTS jacket has just five panels and six seams, reducing weight and bulk while improving mobility. It is suitable for year-round play thanks to a specially developed ThermoLite bonded liner, that maintains body heat when the weather is cool and wicks moisture away from the body when its hot. The all-new three-layer bonded fabric boasts four-way stretch, ensuring mobile, comfortable and quiet movements.

How we tested

We took the jacket to St Ives Golf Club and played 18 holes on what was thankfully a wet a blustery day.

A tasteful combination of block colours creates a trendy, contemporary look. The logo down one of the arms is large and noticeable, but we actually quite like it.

Fit/comfort

A new elasticated waistband helps create a more tailored fit while the thin, soft material makes it feel more like a wind top than a waterproof, but with the protection you need when caught in a shower.

The LTS is comfortably the best waterproof jacket FootJoy has ever created. Previous versions did the job, but were bulky, loud and coarse to the touch. The LTS improves significantly in all these areas.

It’s instantly soft when you slide your arms in and much thinner and lighter than previous jackets, helping you swing more freely. This is ably assisted by the stretchy quality of the material, allowing you to move your body without impairment.

Attention to detail has gone up greatly too, with the specially shaped collar to stop distractions, Velcro cuffs and elasticated waist all contributing to a customized fit that reduces swing interference. There's also a scorecard pocket on the chest which could come in handy.

Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.
