Hilton For The Stay

Go Hilton Team Member travel program

Booking a go hilton stay.

Eligible Team Members and their authorized family / friends must each log in at the Go Hilton booking site with their own Hilton Honors sign-in and password to manage their own reservations.

Tips for Finding Go Hilton Rates

Use the flexible dates feature.

  • Search for a 1-night stay and click the 'My dates are flexible' box, which will let you see rate availability day-by-day in a calendar view for each hotel you select.
  • Ex: If you searched for 3 nights, but only 2 of the nights have the discount available, the search would come up empty. If you do a 1-night search and use flexible dates, you could see availability day-by-day and see the discount for 2 of the 3 nights, which you could book separately if needed.

Mix and match rates

  • Ex: Team Member rate might be available for 1 night and not the next, but the Family & Friends rate might be available for the other night.
  • If searching for 2 rooms doesn't work, try searching for only 1 room as there may be only one room available at the discounted rate on that particular night.

Be flexible

  • Try to book as far in advance as possible to take advantage of all potential availability. If you don't find what you're looking for right away, come back often. Go Hilton rate availability is based on forecasted occupancy, which can change frequently.
  • More rooms might become available closer to the desired stay date, especially within 60 days of arrival, since stay dates farther out in the calendar may be more limited and are often booked quickly.
  • Consider searching for popular destinations during various seasons or nights of the week when availability may be more plentiful.
  • Plan trips around when you find availability for the discounted rates.

Checking in & staying with Go Hilton Rates

  • Team Members must be present at check-in and for the duration of Team Member rate and Family & Friends rate stays booked in their name and Hilton Honors account.
  • Authorized family and friends must be present at check-in and for the duration of Family & Friends rate stays booked in their name and Hilton Honors account.
  • Non-Team Members, family/friends, etc., cannot use Team Member rates.
  • Authorized family/friends can travel without the authorizing Team Member when staying under their own Family & Friends rates, but the family/friends do need to make their own reservations by signing into the Go Hilton booking site with their own Hilton Honors account.

Number of rooms per stay

  • For each hotel stay, eligible Team Members may reserve up to 2 Team Member rate rooms and 2 Family & Friends rate rooms, for a total of up to 4 rooms in their own name and Hilton Honors number.
  • Team Members’ approved family / friends may reserve up to 2 Family & Friends rate rooms per hotel stay (family / friends must make their own bookings with their own Hilton Honors account).
  • "Extra” Team Member and “Extra” Family & Friends rates are combined with and treated like “regular” Team Member and Family & Friends rates for the maximum number of rooms per stay.
  • Program users may not book rooms for themselves at different hotels for the same stay dates regardless of the rate booked.

Number of nights per stay

  • Eligible Team Members can book up to seven consecutive nights at Team Member rates and up to seven consecutive nights at Family & Friends rates.
  • Approved family/friends may book a Family & Friends rate for seven consecutive nights.

Annual allotment of room nights

  • Each eligible Team Member can book and / or use up to 30 room nights per calendar year under Team Member rates and up to 70 room nights per calendar year under Family & Friends rates, for a total of 100 room nights per calendar year.
  • Each room counts as 1 room night.
  • Usage of Family & Friends room nights by approved family / friends counts against the 70 Family & Friends room nights total.
  • "Extra" Team Member rates and "Extra" Family & Friends rates do not count against the annual room night allotments.

Hilton Honors Points, stay credit, & hotel benefits

Go Hilton Team Member and Family & Friends rate stays are eligible to earn Hilton Honors Points on both room rates and incidentals and stay credit toward the next tier status, based on Hilton Honors terms and conditions. Hilton Honors members are eligible for all standard Hilton Honors hotel benefits when staying under Go Hilton rates, including room upgrades at check-in based on tier status and hotel availability.

Hilton Honors Relocation & Recovery (Walk Policy)

Occasionally, a hotel may find itself in an overbooked situation. All Go Hilton Team Member and Family & Friends rate reservations in such situations are to be honored as any other reservation for a Hilton Honors member; Hilton Honors Relocation & Recovery policies apply the same to Team Member and Family & Friends reservations as to any other reservation type for overbooked situations. The guest should be relocated to another local hotel within a reasonable distance with all the usual Hilton Honors walk benefits based on the guest's tier status.

Code of Conduct

  • Eligible participants traveling under the  Go Hilton travel programs are bound to the Hilton Code of Conduct. Eligible Participants are expected to embody Hilton Values and uphold the exceptional reputation of Hilton during every stay at member properties. Eligible Participants will be held accountable for any undue duress placed on the hosting property. Behavior inconsistent with program rules and our HILTON Values may result in loss of these privileges and disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Family and Friends of Eligible Participants who use the Family & Friends Travel Program are also a reflection of the Eligible Participant. Any inappropriate behavior by Family and Friends may also result in loss of these privileges for the family/friend and the Eligible Participant.
  • Access to Go Hilton discounts may not be sold, auctioned, bartered, brokered, purchased, or otherwise transferred.  Any Go Hilton discounts obtained in this manner will be considered to have been fraudulently obtained and deemed void, resulting in cancellation of the reservations.  This applies to Go Hilton Team Member rates and Family & Friends rates. All such activity is strictly prohibited and will result in loss of Go Hilton privileges for the applicable Team Member and/or Family & Friends and can also result in disciplinary action for the Team Member, up to and including termination. Such fraudulent activity will also lead to closure of the applicable Hilton Honors accounts and forfeiture of any Hilton Honors Points, stay credits, or other related rewards associated with those accounts.
  • The following actions will be taken by the Program for any Hilton Honors members who are fraudulently added to a Team Member's Family & Friends list and/or who fraudulently book or use a Team Member's Family & Friends rate room nights without the Team Member's knowledge and consent:  their Go Hilton / Family & Friends rate reservations will be cancelled by the Program; their Hilton Honors account will be closed; and they will forfeit any Hilton Honors Points, stay credits, or other related rewards associated with that Hilton Honors account. The Program will monitor such fraudulent Hilton Honors members going forward, and such fraudulent activity on any new Hilton Honors account the members open will lead to the same treatment as above on the new accounts.
  • Team Members should inform all family and friends they authorize to use the program of the Go Hilton Code of Conduct and all Program Rules.

Hilton Employees can save up to 75% with the "Go Hilton" Team Member Rate. Plus Friends and Family can save up to 50%.

In addition to the “Go Hilton” Team Member rate that’s available to Hilton employees, Hilton also offers a discounted Friends and Family rate so you can extend your benefits to the people you are closest to.

To be eligible for the Hilton Family and Friends rate you’ll need to have a your own Hilton Honors account and be referred by a Hilton employee.

The employee will have to add you to his/her eligible friends and family list (in the “Hilton Lobby”) so you’ll need to provide them with your Hilton Honors number and name, as it appears on your account.

Hilton Lobby – Where you set up friends & family members

The Hilton Lobby is the name of the Hilton team member portal where family and friends can be set up and connected to the Hilton employee.

The Hilton Lobby Login lobby.hilton.com

How to add friends and family members to a Hilton Lobby employee profile:

  • Log into the Lobby at Lobby.hilton.com . (If you don’t have access to the Lobby go to Lobby.hilton.com, click on New Users, and follow the prompts to set up your Hilton ID.)
  • Click on “My Applications” in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  • Click on “Go Hilton Account”. This will bring you to your Go Hilton Account where you can manage your Family and Friends list

You may have up to 30 family or friends on the list at a time. The list may be updated at any point, so you can add or remove names as needed.

You will need the following information for each person on your list:

  • Hilton Honors Account #: Family and friends must have their own Hilton Honors Account #. If they don’t have one, they can sign up at www.joinhonors.com .
  • First and Last Name: The name you enter must be an exact match to the name on your family members and/or friends’ Hilton Honors account.

Note: Make sure to give them your information exactly as it appears on your account or the approval will not go through, so make sure to double-check you supply the correct information.

How to Book Hilton Team Member Travel Rates

Eligible Hilton employees and their authorized family/friends must each log in at the  Go Hilton booking site  with their own Hilton Honors sign-in and password to manage their reservations.

After your friends and family members have been added to the team member’s list, they will be able to book the Family & Friends rates themselves on the “Go Hilton” booking site up to 1 year in advance of their planned stay.

This rate is 35-50% off the Hilton’s Best Available Rate, which is Hilton’s lowest advertised rate.  Approved Family & Friends can reserve up to two rooms per hotel stay for up to seven nights.

“Extra” discounted rates are offered at the discretion of a given property based on the current business climate and their reservation needs.

These rates aren’t discounted quite as much as the traditional Team Member rate or a Friends and Family rate, but they don’t count against your annual night limit, so if the rate is good, and you plan on “maxing out” your team member nights throughout the year, you may want to consider booking these rates first.

The rates will show up on the reservation search results as “EXTRA TEAM MEMBER” or “EXTRA FAMILY-FRIENDS”. These are great rates, but they are harder to find, especially at popular destinations.

Pro Tip: You can combine the employee rate with a friends and family rate to book a group vacation for up to a week, with four discounted rooms. Your friends will love you for this!

According to Hilton’s policy, employees may reserve up to two rooms with the team member rate and up to two more rooms with the Family & Friends rate, for a total of up to four rooms per stay.

The rooms can be booked for up to 7 consecutive nights at a given property making this a great way to book a week long trip with a group!

Tips for Finding Employee Discount Availability

These rates can sometimes be tough to find, so here are some tips to consider when booking Hilton TMTP rates. You may not get the exact dates you want, but these tips will help you get a great “Go Hilton” rate at a Hilton property.

Go Hilton TMTP Travel Portal

Go to the “Go Hilton” Portal and search for a one-night stay, then click the ‘My dates are flexible’ box. This will let you see employee (“TMTP”) rate availability each day in a calendar view for the hotel where you want to stay.

By searching for just 1 night on the flexible search feature, you will find each night that offers the rate. By contrast, if you were to search for a 3-night stay and only 2 of the nights offered the rate, the search would come back as not available.

By using the flexible dates feature, you may find that the Go Hilton TMTP rate is available on 3 of the 5 nights of your planned trip. If this is the case, make separate bookings. One reservation with the nights the TMTP rate is available and another booking at the best available rate or maybe a friend and family rate.

Even though you won’t get the rate for your entire trip, the savings will still be huge!

This may be tough if you are not a “planner”, but try to book your room as far out as possible to take advantage of all potential availability.

If you don’t find availability at the hotel you are looking for, keep checking. Team member rate availability is based on each property’s expected occupancy, which can change frequently.

The room may not be available today, but in another month or two that could change.

“Go Hilton” - The Hilton Team Member Friends and Family Rate

Team members also receive discounts when dining on the property.  This discount is not tied to the room rate and gives employees a 50% discount on food and beverage on the property.

However, there is one small caveat to check out before you bank on that 50% food and beverage discount.

  • The discount only applies to restaurants that are under the same management as the hotel, so double-check and make sure before you splurge on that dinner.
  • Also, this only applies when you are staying at the hotel with a team member rate.

Another great feature of the team member program is that they honor your Hilton elite status and Hilton Honors points .  This means that you can also potentially get a nice upgrade and earn Hilton Honors points in addition to getting a heavily discounted rate!

Not only does Hilton offer these great rates to current employees, but you can also get a discount if you worked for Hilton for over 10 years but are no longer an active employee.

The Long Tenure Travel Program has two tiers:

  • If you worked for Hilton for 10-20 years you have access to Friends and Family rates for up to 70 nights per year, for life.
  • If you worked for Hilton for over 20 years you have access to Team Member rates for up to 30 nights per year and Friends & Family rates for up to 70 nights per year, for life.

These rates are only available to the former employee, they cannot be passed on to their family or friends.

Terms & Conditions:

  • You must behave yourself when staying with these rates or you could be fired. Hilton terms state that bad behavior when staying under these rates could result in loss of the benefit or potentially even being fired.
  • You cannot barter or sell your reservation using this rate to anyone else.
  • Team Members cannot use the rate at the property where they regularly work
  • All bookings with this rate have to be made on the Go Hilton booking site by the guest who will be staying. Team Members will have to log in with their personal Hilton Honors information, and the approved friends and family will also have to log in with their Hilton Honors information. Reservations with this rate cannot be made through any other booking channels.
  • The Hilton employee will have to be present at check-in and for the entire stay to receive the “Go Hilton” Team Member rates. No one else can use this rate, but they can use the friends and family rate.
  • Every Hilton Team Member is allowed to book and/or use up to 30 “Go Hilton” Team Member rate room nights plus up to 70 Family & Friends rate room nights per calendar year, up to 100 room nights per calendar year between the two rate types.
  • Any room nights booked under the “Extra” Team Member or “Extra” Family & Friends rates will not count against the Hilton Team Members’ annual room night total.
  • The Hilton Team Member rates and the Family & Friends rates are for leisure travel only. They can’t be used for business travel of any type.
  • Hilton employees can reserve up to two rooms with the “Go Hilton” Team Member rate and up to two Friends and Family rate rooms together per stay, per hotel, for a total of up to four rooms, which is nice when traveling with a family or group.
  • Hilton employees can stay in a single hotel for up to seven straight nights with the “Go Hilton” Team Member rate and for up to seven straight nights with the Friends and Family rates, or vice versa. However, they cannot stay for more than fourteen straight nights between the two sets of rates per stay, per hotel.
  • Approved Family & Friends can reserve up to two Family & Friends rate rooms for up to seven straight nights at a time per stay, per hotel.

As an employee, the rate is eligible to be used at any Hilton property globally, except for the hotel you are employed with. However, your friends and family can book the friends and family rate at any hotel. This assumes the rates are available, and they generally are if the hotel has less than 90% occupancy.

Fundamentally, it’s no different than with any reservation. Just log into the “Go Hilton” home page ( hilton.com/go ) with your Hilton Honors login information to manage your reservations. The biggest difference from a regular reservation is that this must be done on the “Go Hilton” page, not your normal Hilton Honors account.

Unfortunately, the answer is no. The Hilton Reservations & Customer Care Center cannot assist with reservations for Hilton Team Member rates or Family & Friends rates.

There is a customer support line, however, these representatives cannot book, modify, or cancel Go Hilton reservations. Any changes you want to make have to be done through the Go Hilton booking website. Inside the United States and Canada (toll-free): +1-800-548-8690 Outside the United States and Canada (not a toll-free call): +1-800-449-4155

All of the major hotel chains offer some level of discount or free travel to employees and their family members. Hyatt has the best employee discount program of all the major hotel chains because they give you 12 completely free nights at any Hyatt property in the world, every year. Marriott has “ The Marriott Explore Rate ” which is similar to the “Go Hilton” Team Member Rate and the IHG Employee Rate because employees are provided with a deeply discounted nightly rate. These are great perks for hotel employees and team members who work very hard every day and should be able to enjoy discounted trips to some great properties as well.

“TMTP” is the acronym/abbreviation for the Hilton Team Member Travel Program.

Guests staying under Team Member or Family & Friends rates just need to present a photo ID at check-in. Other authorization forms (including the old paper Passports) aren’t required for anyone. Team Members must be present at check-in and for the duration of Team Member rate stays.

“Thrive at Hilton” is Hilton’s philosophy for their team members that if they are at their best personally and professionally, they will give their guests the best experience they can have. This includes access to learning and career development opportunities, a flexible work environment, or industry-leading benefits (like the Team Member Travel Program).

A guide to understanding and using the Hilton TMTP:

The Hilton Team Member Travel Program (TMTP) is a special benefit for employees of Hilton Worldwide, which allows them to enjoy reduced room rates at Hilton hotels worldwide. Here is a guide to understanding and using the Hilton TMTP:

  • Eligibility: The TMTP is available to all regular full-time and part-time employees of Hilton Worldwide, including those working for its franchisees, managed properties, and corporate offices. Family and friends of employees are also eligible to use the program.
  • Discounts: The TMTP offers heavily discounted room rates at Hilton hotels worldwide, ranging from 25% to 50% off the standard rate. The discount may vary by hotel and location, and blackout dates may apply. The employee must book the room using their Hilton Honors account, and the discount will be automatically applied.
  • Room types: The discount applies to standard rooms, subject to availability. Suite and premium room upgrades may be available at a discounted rate, but the employee must pay the extra cost.
  • Booking: Employees can book rooms directly through their Hilton Honors account on the Hilton TMTP website or through the Hilton Reservations & Customer Care center. The employee must have a valid Hilton Honors account to access the TMTP rates.
  • Cancellation: Employees can cancel or modify their TMTP reservations according to the hotel’s cancellation policy. However, if the employee fails to show up for a reservation, it may result in a forfeited benefit.
  • Limitations: Employees are restricted to booking a maximum of 30 room nights per calendar year through the TMTP. The program is intended for personal travel use only and cannot be used for business travel or for commercial purposes. The employee must not disclose the TMTP rate to non-employees or unauthorized persons.
  • Responsibility: Employees are responsible for understanding and following the terms and conditions of the TMTP. They must also ensure that their friends and family members who use the program are aware of the rules and restrictions.

In summary, the Hilton Team Member Travel Program is a valuable benefit for Hilton employees and their families, offering significant discounts on hotel stays worldwide. However, employees must use the program responsibly, following the terms and conditions to ensure that it remains a sustainable benefit for all.

Score 1,000 Delta SkyMiles When You Book a Hilton Stay For a Limited Time

The promotion is running until May 6.

hilton honors travel team member

Courtesy of Delta

Delta has teamed up with Hilton Honors to offer 1,000 miles on stays at thousands of hotels worldwide.

“Delta SkyMiles members, enjoy a limited-time offer on Hilton stays,” the airline shared about the new promotion on its website .

First, travelers must join both Hilton and Delta ’s programs if they haven’t already and register for the latest promotion by Monday, May 6. Then, Hilton Honors members will need to link their Delta SkyMiles number under the “Preferred Travel Partners” section of their profile.

Delta will award 1,000 SkyMiles for an eligible Hilton reservation booked directly with cash through Hilton’s website or the Hilton Honors app and completed by July 7, 2024. A maximum of three hotel reservations can be booked during the travel window, which gives the potential to earn a total of 3,000 SkyMiles through this promotion.

It could take up to six to eight weeks after the stay is over before the miles are deposited, but they won’t count toward earning elite status with Delta, according to the promotion.

This isn’t the first time Delta has partnered with other travel and lifestyle loyalty programs, giving members plenty of opportunities to earn miles even if they’re not flying. Travelers can also register to earn 1 mile per dollar spent at Starbucks and Airbnb thanks to these exclusive partnerships. Finally, members can earn SkyMiles from spending on Delta co-branded credit cards or flying SkyTeam partner airlines such as Aeromexico or Virgin Atlantic.

Delta SkyMiles can then be redeemed for free flights roughly at 1.2 cents apiece, and the airline will often run flash sales where members can redeem miles for flight deals. It’s also possible to redeem SkyMiles for Delta Vacations packages for at least 15 percent more value, which bundle flights, hotels, and car rentals at a discounted rate.

How to earn 1,000 Delta SkyMiles on your next Hilton stay

Tanner Saunders

Sometimes, the best things in life come from great friends. This is exactly why we're excited to hear that Hilton and Delta Air Lines are teaming up to offer an easy way to earn some quick Delta SkyMiles .

Starting now, Hilton Honors members can register for a special limited-time offer to earn 1,000 bonus Skymiles for booking a stay.

Here's how it works: Hilton Honors members can head to the promotion's official landing page to register by May 6. Then book a stay directly through Hilton's website or the Hilton Honors app. You must complete the stay by July 7.

Just like that, you'll earn 1,000 bonus miles as long as you have active Hilton Honors and Delta SkyMiles accounts.

Of course, there's always some extra fine print to read. For this promotion, only new Hilton stays qualify. So, don't think you can earn miles on stays you booked before registering.

Additionally, the names on the Hilton Honors and Delta SkyMiles accounts must match, and you need to make sure you're logged into your Hilton Honors account while making the booking.

If you do all of that, you'll get 1,000 SkyMiles deposited into your account within six to eight weeks of the completed stay. Just note there's a maximum of three stays per SkyMiles member on this offer. The bonus miles don't count toward Medallion Status or Million Miler Status, either.

Although 1,000 points isn't a ton, it's better than none, right?

Since you must complete the stay by July 7, those summer dates give you plenty of time to check out some of our favorite Hilton hotels. These include the best Hiltons in the world , our favorite Hilton all-inclusive properties or even a luxury-filled stay at one of the best Waldorf Astoria properties in the world .

It's an exciting time to be a Hilton Honors loyalist, considering that the company just announced it'll be growing its luxury arm by acquiring a majority stake in the parent company of NoMad Hotel. It plans to grow the brand to up to 100 properties in the coming years.

That news came hot on the heels of other big announcements: The cheeky, collegiate-themed brand Graduate Hotels will soon be integrated into Hilton Honors , as will the outdoorsy brand AutoCamp .

How much value does Hilton Honors status provide when you book directly?

MSN has partnered with The Points Guy for our coverage of credit card products. MSN and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers.

When you’re determining how to book a hotel, it’s easy to only compare the final cost. However, doing so doesn’t take into account the value your elite status can provide — both in terms of benefits and points — when you book directly with the hotel brand or through an eligible method.

In this guide, I’ll discuss the value Hilton Honors elite members can get when they book directly with Hilton hotels and resorts.

What value does Hilton’s elite status provide?

As with most hotel elite status tiers , Hilton Honors elite status provides benefits in two primary areas: earnings and on-site perks.

Estimating how much value you’ll get from your perks is difficult since the value will differ for each Hilton Honors member and stay, but you can consider the elite status perks you plan to use during a particular stay and estimate the value those perks will likely provide when deciding how to book.

If you spend an average of $150 per night on eligible purchases, we estimate Hilton Honors elite status is worth about the following:

  • Silver status : $5 per night
  • Gold status : $25 per night
  • Diamond status : $40 per night

You might not agree with these valuations at first glance. So, let’s consider the valuation of Hilton Diamond status at about $40 per night.

As a Diamond member, the primary benefits are a 100% points-earning bonus on stays, executive lounge access, premium Wi-Fi, space-available room upgrades up to a one-bedroom suite and a 48-hour room guarantee.

If you stay mostly at properties with executive lounges and ample suites, you may get at least $40 per night in value from Hilton Diamond status. However, your elite benefits and their value will vary by property and stay.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I mostly stay with Hilton properties outside the U.S. I prefer redeeming Hilton points abroad for generally better perks (including breakfast as a My Way benefit at most properties) and redemption rates, but it is frustrating that no Hilton elite members get a guaranteed late checkout benefit. Instead, all Hilton members can request a late checkout, but it’s subject to availability. So, I use multiple hotel loyalty programs to get the perks I need on each stay.

A decent chunk of the value we attribute to each status tier per night is based on the bonus points you’ll earn. After all, Hilton members earn points at a set rate for qualifying stays booked directly, and Hilton elite members get a 20% to 100% points bonus. Here’s a look at the earning rates for Hilton stays based on the brand and your elite status.

If you frequently redeem Hilton Honors points for stays instead of booking paid rates, you may find our estimated values for each status tier are too high. Head over to our Hilton Honors elite status guide and remove or adjust the bonus points in our calculation if you usually redeem points for your stays or spend significantly more or less per night. If you remove bonus points from the calculation entirely, our value of Gold status drops to $18 per night, and our value of Diamond status drops to $31 per night.

Value of points earned

It’s worth considering how much the Hilton points you’ll earn are worth if you book a qualifying rate directly. Different Hilton brands earn at different rates, as we discussed above.

For simplicity, let’s assume you’re staying at one of the many Hilton properties where members without elite status earn 10 points per dollar, Silver members earn 12 points per dollar, Gold members earn 18 points per dollar and Diamond members earn 20 points per dollar.

Based on TPG’s valuations , points are worth about 0.6 cents each. This means that on $100 in purchases for a stay, Hilton members would earn as follows:

  • Member without elite status : 1,000 points worth $6
  • Silver member : 1,200 points worth $7
  • Gold member : 1,800 points worth $11
  • Diamond member : 2,000 points worth $12

So, consider the value of the points you’ll earn when deciding how to book your stay, even if you don’t care about elite status perks or earning toward status.

Which stays qualify?

You must book an eligible stay through a qualifying channel to get elite benefits and earnings on your Hilton stays. The Hilton Honors terms and conditions list the following as qualifying booking channels:

Any official direct Hilton hotel brand or Hilton Honors website (for example, Hilton Honors.com, Hilton.com, Hampton.com, etc.), Hilton Reservations & Customer Care phone line (1-800-4HONORS or local Hilton reservations office), Hilton Honors or Hilton mobile application, Directly at a hotel in the Hilton Portfolio, or Through an IATA accredited retail travel agent professional (“Travel Agent”) booking through a Hilton channel or the following Global Distribution Systems: Amadeus, Apollo/Galileo, Worldspan and SABRE.

However, the following types of rates and booking methods are ineligible:

Wholesale/tour operator packages; contracted crew rates; travel agency discount rates; packages exclusively for casino player card holders; unauthorized Members staying on Go Hilton Team Member or Family & Friends Travel Rates; stays secured utilizing Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Hilton Club timeshare programs, HiltonGetaways.com bookings; Hilton Grand Vacations marketing packages with a sales presentation requirement; complimentary or barter rooms; NET Group rates; Series Group or IT Group rates; contracted Entertainment or Encore rates; third party websites bookings (irrespective of rate paid); and “opaque” channel bookings where the brand may or may not be known at the time of purchase.

All this to say: If you reserve directly through the Hilton Honors website or app and don’t book an ineligible rate, you should earn points and enjoy on-site benefits based on your Hilton elite status.

How to earn Hilton elite status

All Hilton members are at least members, but you can earn Hilton elite status through the end of the next calendar year for each calendar year that you meet the following requirements:

  • Silver status : 10 nights, four stays or 25,000 base points
  • Gold status : 40 nights, 20 stays or 75,000 base points
  • Diamond status : 60 nights, 30 stays or 120,000 base points

There are also other ways to earn Hilton Honors elite status. For example, you can get Hilton elite status as a benefit of the following travel rewards cards (enrollment may be required):

  • Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: Get complimentary Hilton Honors Diamond status as a cardmember perk.
  • Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card and Hilton Honors American Express Business Card : Get complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status as a cardmember perk and receive an upgrade to Hilton Honors Diamond status through the end of the subsequent calendar year each calendar year the total eligible purchases on your card account reach $40,000 or more.
  • The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express : Enroll to get complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status as a cardmember perk.
  • Hilton Honors American Express Card : Get complimentary Hilton Honors Silver status as a cardmember perk and upgrade to Hilton Honors Gold status through the end of the subsequent calendar year each calendar year the total eligible purchases on your card account reach $20,000 or more.

The information for the Hilton Aspire card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

I have the Hilton Aspire and find its benefits — up to $250 in Hilton resort credits each anniversary year, up to $250 in airline fee credits each calendar year, an annual free night award and complimentary Hilton Diamond status — provide more value than the card’s $450 annual fee. This is true even though I don’t frequently stay at Hilton hotels and resorts.

Bottom line

Earning 20 points per dollar spent on most paid Hilton stays with Hilton Diamond status — which is easy to maintain through the Hilton Aspire card — is reason enough to book Hilton stays directly. Even if you have Hilton Gold status through the Amex Platinium , you’ll still earn 18 points per dollar on most paid stays.

Whether you book directly or through an online travel agency , you may also earn extra rewards on stays by clicking through an online shopping portal before booking and using one of the best hotel cards or best cards for travel purchases to pay for your stay.

SPONSORED:  With states reopening, enjoying a meal from a restaurant no longer just means curbside pickup.

And when you do spend on dining, you should use a credit card that will maximize your rewards and potentially even score special discounts. Thanks to temporary card bonuses and changes due to coronavirus, you may even be able to score a meal at your favorite restaurant for free.

These are the best credit cards for dining out, taking out, and ordering in to maximize every meal purchase.

A Brand for Every Stay

With the additions of Spark by Hilton and LivSmart Studios by Hilton in 2023, Hilton’s brand portfolio spans from luxury to premium economy and long-stay categories, broadening our chain scale diversity and ensuring we can serve even more guests, for any stay occasion, anywhere they want to be.

We debuted Tempo by Hilton Times Square, the first hotel for the brand; Signia by Hilton Atlanta, the brand's flagship and first new-build property; and Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton, the fastest announcement-to-market brand in Hilton history. We also opened the 150th Curio Collection by Hilton, the 250th Tru by Hilton, and the 1,000th Hilton Garden Inn.

Hilton For The Stay brand logos divided in to Luxury, Lifestyle, Full Service, Focused Service, All Suites, Vacation Ownership, and Loyalty.

A Powerful Growth Engine

With the addition of nearly 1,000 future hotels to the pipeline in 2023, Hilton now has a record of nearly 3,300 hotels in development, totaling more than 462,000 rooms. Roughly 1 in 5 hotel rooms under development globally are slated to fly a Hilton flag, and we maintain the largest under construction pipeline of any global hotel company.

Hilton also marked a decade of fast-paced growth since our initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange on Dec. 11, 2013. Over this period, we delivered total shareholder returns of approximately 420%* - outperforming major indices and industry averages.

Hampton by Hilton Choose Your Room

2023 was the year the world moved forward.

Travelers filled airports, packed stadiums, reinvigorated restaurants and energized hotel lobbies, turning to travel to create deeper human connections. The new Golden Age of Travel we anticipated arrived in full force. As change accelerated, Hilton kept pace, leading the industry with new customer-driven strategic partnerships, digital solutions and innovative on-property experiences and products.

Satisfying the Thirst for Adventure and Experiences

In 2023, travelers accelerated their appetite for experiences over things. As travelers sought out once-in-a-lifetime moments, unique culinary offerings, events and cultural immersions, Hilton Honors rose to the occasion, offering exclusive access to some of the most sought-after events of 2023, including must-see intimate concerts, McLaren F1 Racing, and the Ryder Cup.

Hilton also partnered with world-class talent to drive food and beverage innovations and announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with the James Beard Foundation.

Changing the Landscape of Universal EV Charging

Searching for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations on Hilton.com proved to have the fastest volume growth in 2023, jumping from fourth to second highest in converting searches to stays. To address this growing demand, Hilton announced plans to install Tesla Universal Wall Connectors at approximately 2,000 hotels in North America, dramatically increasing EV charging accessibility for guests.

Addressing the Rising Importance of Wellness Travel

More than ever, travelers are prioritizing wellness. In 2023, Hilton announced the expansion of its industry-first partnership to place Peloton bikes in every hotel gym in Puerto Rico, Germany, the U.K. and in participating properties in Canada. Tempo by Hilton introduced an array of wellness offerings with its global debut, including guest rooms designed to help guests power up for the day and power down for a good night's sleep, an innovative 'Spirited' and 'Free-Spirited' beverage program, and signature wellness rooms featuring Peloton bikes.

Rewarding our Loyal Guests

Hilton Honors members received more than 2 million complimentary automatic room upgrades prior to arrival through the Hilton Honors app in 2023. Hilton Honors redemption points for Experiences soared, with year-over-year Point redemption up over 100% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, our partnership with American Express reached new heights with the introduction of the refreshed Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® and Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Cards.

Reducing the Friction of Travel

Hilton has a long-term commitment to digitally transform the travel experience while maintaining the human connections, relatability and personalization that guests crave. Hilton's new Property Engagement Platform expedites transactions at the front desk, reducing guest wait times. We also introduced enhanced booking capabilities for small meetings; the Hilton Honors Elevator Unlock, which allows guests to automatically connect to and unlock elevators through the Hilton Honors app; and Hilton for Business, a new travel management program for small- and medium-sized businesses.
