A company specialising in business travel has travelled a short distance to new premises within Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove.

Hotel and Travel Solutions has moved to Five Mile House on Hanbury Road, taking 1,920 sq ft on the ground floor, with property agents John Truslove advising landlord, the Jerroms Group.

Serving the corporate market, and promising “substantial cost savings” for clients using their hotel and travel management services, HTS employs a total of 18 staff and has agreed a five-year lease.

Its expertise covers business accommodation, conference and meeting events, online reservations, corporate entertainment, credit administration and hotel bill back services.

Founder Julie Shorrock said: “Our customer portfolio ranges from SMEs, national and international companies, public sector and not for profit organisations.

“We chose Five Mile House because the accommodation was the right size and it was the right location.”

Ben Truslove, a director of John Truslove, said: “Five Mile House is a prestigious office building in a prominent position.

“Businesses of all kinds need hotel and travel arrangements handled efficiently and professionally and I am sure HTS will continue to prosper as a result.”

40 jobs being created as Bromsgrove hotel and travel firm expands

A BROMSGROVE travel specialist is expanding its business and bringing 40 new jobs to the town.

Hotel and Travel Solutions (HTS) will be taking on the new staff over the next three years after experiencing a 64 per cent growth in year-on-year business which came about following a pro-active approach to sourcing new clients.

The firm, based at Five Mile House in Hanbury Road, was established in 2010 by Julie Shorrock who has more than 25 years hotel and travel experience.

The company provides corporate clients with bespoke solutions for travel, accommodation and venues.

This year has also seen HTS expand into event management as it strives to tailor its services to its growing client base.

The company, which currently employs 21 people, moved offices last year following the business growth and is now taking on three new reservations consultants and a conference development manager.

HTS is already looking into future staff expansions in all departments to cope with growing demand, with plans to create more than 40 jobs, including both junior and senior positions, over the next three years.

Juliet Wedderburn, business development director at HTS, said: “We have seen a considerable amount of growth as we enter our eighth year of trading.

“Our main sales trend is accommodation. A total of 80 per cent of our overall business is hotels, and 90 per cent of this is for bookings based within the UK.

“Our travel options include everything from air, rail, ferries and car hire to airport parking and airport lounges, and this year has also seen an exciting development as we expand into event management.

“This wide range of services means we have been successful at both retaining existing clients and attracting new business.

“Due to this continued growth, we are now looking at bringing even more new jobs to Bromsgrove as we plan to expand further and would like to hear from good communicators who would like to work with a progressive company.”

Julie said: “It is excellent to see the company experiencing such major growth, which is down to the team fully embracing our pro-active approach to sourcing new business.

“This success means we are able to grow our team with four new positions and also look at further employment opportunities.”

Hotel and Travel Solutions (HTS), a specialist in hotel accommodation, venue sourcing, and travel for businesses, has relocated to support business growth.

With the company returning to pre-pandemic levels, and projected figures showing growth, HTS moved from its Bromsgrove office to a new space in Hadzor near Bromsgrove and Droitwich in Worcestershire.

To support its business regrowth, HTS is also using the Government’s Kick Start scheme to employ four people within its reservations team.

One individual will be appointed on a permanent contract from November after completing six months on the scheme. The team continues to grow with three further appointments outside of the Kick Start scheme in HTS reservations and finance teams.

Molly Knight will be joining the team on a permanent contract next month. She said: “The Kick Start scheme has been a fantastic opportunity for me. It has allowed me to transfer my customer experience skills into an industry I knew very little about. I have learnt so much in the last six months and I am excited to continue my career with HTS.”

Julie Shorrock (pictured right) , managing director of HTS, commented on the recent business developments: “There was so much uncertainty in the travel industry at the beginning of the pandemic. In addition to the Government’s Kick Start scheme, we have utilised Worcestershire County Council’s Here2Help Business and BEEP grants that have enabled HTS to successfully complete the office move and start our expansion plans.

“It’s been a long journey back for us, yet after months of hard work for the team, I’m delighted to be in our lovely new office space. It’s a fresh start for us all. I’m proud of our growing team of ambitious and committed hotel, travel, and conference professionals. Our plans are to embrace the future and we are all very excited. We have started welcoming our suppliers to the new office and it’s starting to feel like some form of normality has finally resumed.”

Only stayed one night but it’s was great. Staff were very welcoming especially with the dogs! Room was fab for the dogs. Will definitely be back!

A little hard to find even with sat nave. I arrived in the dark so probably easier in the daylight.

Staff were excellent. The property was definitely budget. Almost soulless after reception and really requiring a makeover.

We stayed for two nights in a family room. At around 3/4am Sunday morning the room opposite “came back” and proceeded to have a party. The night staff did eventually get them to quieten down but we had three rooms with young children either side of this room and we were opposite.
