Each season in Japan offers newlyweds exciting experiences for the ultimate honeymoon

Fuji and relax on Japan's best beaches. It offers insight on when to visit Japan's shrines and temples offering spiritual marriage support and when to head to mountain onsen retreats. Honeymoon when spring has sprung in Japan

Honeymoons in Japan—spring

Spring in Japan is associated with cherry blossom when the delicate pink sakura petals bloom across the country. A picnic under the trees with a glass of sakura champagne would be a memorable way to toast to your new life.

Many of the top spots are lit up at night, adding a little more romance to your experience. Expect large crowds at the major locations, so if you are looking for somewhere quiet and romantic, head to a peaceful local spot.

When is cherry blossom season in Japan?

If your spring honeymoon doesn't coincide with the fleeting blossoms, this season is still a great time to visit Japan. The weather is mild and generally stays clear until the rainy season begins in June. Along with autumn, it is the best time to get out and explore the country's modern and ancient cities.

Okinawa is Japan's tropical paradise

Honeymoons in Japan—summer

Summer in Japan is very hot and humid, and in recent years temperatures in some of the major cities and landlocked prefectures have risen to over 40 degrees Celsius. Rather than exploring the sweltering towns and cities, the Japanese summer is perfect for spending time on the coast or above the clouds. For newlyweds looking to relax on the beach or do some serious trekking, Japan has plenty to offer.

Wherever you decide to stay in Okinawa, make sure you hire a car and explore the original local culture of the Okinawan islands. Kayak in the mangroves, taste the area's distinctive food and drink and schedule in some walks along the beach and view the spectacular sunsets.

Autumn in Japan is crisp and clear

Honeymoons in Japan—autumn

Autumn in Japan is crisp and clear and a great time for outdoorsy couples to visit Japan. The Japanese summer tends to linger on until the end of September, however from mid-October to mid-December the weather is good. While exploration is possible throughout the year, the comfortable climate makes it a great season to spend time in the cities and countryside.

As fall is an ideal season for exploring the country, why not follow in the footsteps of Japan's first honeymoon couple or visit certain shrines for some spiritual marriage support from the gods?

Head out into Japan's wintry wilds

Honeymoons in Japan—winter

Winter in Japan might be very cold, but there are plenty of opportunities to warm up in private onsen, ski and experience winter illuminations.

Japan's traditional ryokan hotels offer guests high levels of hospitality and are often set in deep nature, making them the ideal choice for a honeymoon getaway, especially during the winter. Many ryokan offer in-room dining, allowing you to feast on meticulously crafted kaiseki dining without leaving the comfort and warmth of your room. Many ryokan also provide private onsen. Bathing in bubbling hot springs just for the two of you offers an authentic and private Japanese experience. Reserving a private outdoor onsen becomes a magical experience in the winter when the snow is falling.

Day 7 : The Sacred Island

This famous vermilion "torii" gate is located at the entrance to Miyajima Island off the coast of Hiroshima

A short 2h40 trip (2 changes, all-inclusive) awaits you to reach the coast of the Sea of Japan. Although more touristy, this coastline is nonetheless exceptional, as witnessed by the fabulous island of Miyajima. This sacred place of Shintoism, twinned with the Mont St Michel, is accessible from "the mainland" in 15 minutes by boat (included in your offer).

Reach you r ryokan near the island's ferry terminal.

Explore the island: its Itsukushima-jinja shrine and its large gate (ootorii) standing in the sea.  (Please note: The ootorii is under construction until an unspecified date). Take the cable car up to Mount Misen and then descend on foot. A breathtaking view of Hiroshima Bay is waiting for you!

In the morning, you can stop in Hiroshima (30 minutes by train from Miyajimaguchi ferry station, included in your JR Pass), to visit the peace park and memorial. It's not exactly romantic, but as you are passing by, it is an exceptional memorial site.

Drive from Hiroshima to Okayama (40 minutes by Shinkansen, direct, included in your package). Check-in at your hotel between the station and the castle.

Explore the castle and its magnificent Koraku-en park , before leaving in the middle of the afternoon for the romantic town of Kurashiki, a 17-minute train ride from Okayama (included with JR Pass):

Kurashiki, an old commercial metropolis lined with canals, will seduce you: - Bikan, a district with typical architecture - The Ohara Museum, keeper of paintings by Monet, Matisse, Renoir... - The Museum of Popular Arts dedicated to regional history

In the evening, return to Okayama to admire the illuminated castle and enjoy the romantic atmosphere.

Day 9 : The Art Island

Yayoi Kusama's yellow pumpkin, symbol of Naoshima, the artistic island in Japan Inland Sea

Breakfast at the hotel.

We advise you to spend the day visiting Naoshima Island, 1 hour from Okayama: 45 minutes by train (1 change - free with Japan Rail Pass) and 15 minutes by boat (Buy on-site, about €4.50/pers A/R). Details in your travel diary.

Naoshima Island is world-famous for its modern art museums, the architecture of some of its buildings, and the scattered outdoor sculptures throughout its territory. These numerous museums and buildings were designed by the architect Ando Tadao. You will be impressed, among other things, by Monet's water lilies, displayed in a simple room where you enter without shoes!

N.B.: access to one of the museums of Naoshima, the Chichu Art Museum, is subject to reservation.

Return to Okayama at the end of the day by the same route as in the morning, in the middle of the Japanese countryside.

Day 10 : The village of many thermal baths

Pleasant Canal in the center of Kinosaki onsen village, Japan

Leave for Kinosaki onsen by train (2 hours 30, 1 change in Himeji, included in your package). Take advantage of your change to visit the famous feudal castle of Himeji, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Arrive in this picturesque village, one of the best places in Japan to discover the thermal baths - onsens. In addition to the baths in your ryokan , you can visit one or more of the 7 public onsens in the village. Wear yukata - traditional Japanese clothing - provided by your ryokan and stroll along the willow-lined canals and traditional shops towards the onsens. All of them offer various baths, some of which are unexpected: a hot bath on the roof of a building, a "penguin" sauna covered in ice, an outdoor bath lined with Japanese maple trees, or another in a cave! A great way to discover and relax.

In the evening, at dinner at the ryokan included in your package, discover the city's rich cuisine, in particular the famous Japanese sea crab.

Day 11 : The former capital

Kiyomizu dera temple in Kyoto during cherry blossom - sakura

There are still many places to discover according to your taste: the Arashiyama bamboo grove district, the Shimogamo sanctuary or the Daitoku-ji temple complex... or Kyoto station and its tower for the futuristic side!

More about your trip

Your tour :

  • The prices displayed on this page may vary according to the exchange rate of the Japanese ¥.
  • Unfortunately, this tour is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Children over 3 years of age are allowed. Rates for children are available for people from 3 to 11 years old inclusive.
  • This programme is subject to change due to circumstances such as weather conditions or any other case of force majeure. Please note that due to the current circumstances, any information mentioned is subject to change or modification.
  • Travel diary by email before departure, and other electronic documents
  • Paper documents (airport transfer ticket, transportation card, Japan Rail Pass voucher) and Pocket WiFi upon arrival at the airport by our airport assistant.
  • This tour is for all couples, for all ages and all genders: gay and lesbian included. Japan is a rather open country on this subject.
  • Note : In very rare cases, mostly in very high season, steps might be reversed. You will be informed in your mini travel-guide. Thanks for your kind understanding.

Your accommodation :

  • Some hotels may ask you to pay a tourist tax on arrival. This depends on the city and even the hotel, as some do not include it in the booking price. Normally, it is 200¥/night/person (about £1.37/1.93$) but can be slightly higher in 4* hotels. It must be paid in cash at the hotel reception. For traditional Japan Experience accommodations, it is included in the initial tour price.
  • Room size: in Japan, a densely populated country where everything is compact, 3-star luxury hotels are of very good quality but the rooms are often quite narrow (12 to 20m2/129 sq ft to 215 sq ft) depending on the hotel. Please note the size of the single room, between 10 and 16m2 (107sq ft and 172 fq ft). For more comfort, you can choose our luxury 4* accommodation upgrade option.
  • Double room: double bed by default in the hotels and houses of the tour. In the ryokan, however, you will sleep in 2 single futons.
  • Names of the hotels : The names given on the site are for information only. In the event of unavailability, an establishment of equivalent standing will be scheduled. Hotels, corresponding to local standards, are given as an indication and may be changed on site for hotels of a similar category.
  • In the ryokan in Hakone, the room has a private sink, toilet, and a private Japanese bathroom (traditional or modern onsen).
  • In the ryokan in Miyajima and Kinosaki, the rooms have a private sink and toilet. The single-sex collective Japanese baths ("onsen") then act as shared bathrooms, with showers and thermal baths. They are freely accessible, at the times in force on the site. These baths are often not accessible to people with clearly visible tattoo (s).
  • The latter are invited to contact us to evaluate the possibilities of accommodation with private baths or shared baths that can be reserved.
  • The 4* ryokan (see 4* option) have comfortable futons raised on either western beds in a traditional tatami room. The bathrooms and toilets of the 4* ryokans are private
  • Traditional house in Kyoto: each house has been chosen for its location (transport, shops, temples...) and thus to facilitate your stay. Most of them are either located in the historical district of Gion or on the edge of the Path of Philosophy and the Silver Temple. All lodgings have at least one Japanese tatami room and are equipped with a minimum of 3 beds, either in a single western bed (not double) or on a futon. Do not hesitate to specify in your comments that you want to sleep in a western bed.

Your transport :

  • Flights are not included in this tour. Do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to include flights in your order: Flights in economy class with stopovers or direct flights, eco-premium or business air upgrades, provincial departures or abroad: we will be able to advise you.
  • The tour departure and end dates presented on this page relate to your stay in Japan. You will arrive in Japan via Tokyo (Narita or Haneda airports) and depart from Kansai airport (KIX, not Itami ITM). On departure, you will have to leave the day before Europe and land at 6:30 p.m. at the most to make the most of the airport services of your circuit (reception and transfer to Tokyo). The return flight is on the same day due to the time difference, with a departure time of 9am at the earliest. Please do not hesitate to consult us for any uncertainty or need for precision in the choice of international flights.
  • If the flights have been purchased by your care without the intervention of Japan Experience, it is necessary to send us by mail 1 month before your departure your flight information (flight number, airport, date and time of arrival) to allow us 'Organize your welcome and airport transfer.
  • Airport Transfers: The shared limousine bus leaves from the airport and stops either in front of your hotel or at a stop within 1-15 minutes walk from your hotel. Our airport assistant in Tokyo will drive you to the platform to pick up the airport transfer. The transfer to the hotel is unassisted. If you wish to be accompanied from the airport to your hotel reception, please choose the option "Accompanied Airport Transfer". This transfer is done in a shared shuttle or bus, with other clients leaving for the same hotel or a hotel close to yours. These transfers leave between 1.5 and 3 hours after your flight's scheduled arrival and stops can be made before your hotel. If you would like a private, non-stop transfer directly after the actual arrival of your flight, feel free to take the "Private Taxi from the Airport" option. Please note: due to the many changes in flight schedules by the airlines, if the airline notifies you of a change in arrival time less than 72 hours before your departure, and if it exceeds 45 minutes, we cannot guarantee your airport shuttle. You will then have to take a taxi at your own expense, requesting a refund from your airline for abusive schedule changes. The same applies to your return journey: 72 hours before your return flight, we cannot change the shuttle schedule. Similarly, you will have to take a taxi booked with the hotel, at your own expense, with reimbursement procedures with the airline company being the only solution. Japan Experience is not responsible for last minute schedule changes. On the way back, the shared shuttle bus leaves from your hotel or very close by to take you directly to the Kansai KIX airport in 1 hour 30.
  • Included in your tour is a pre-charged transport prepayment card of ¥ 1,500 (around £10.30 / 14.54$) (suica or Pasmo brand); a 7-day Japan Rail Pass, a Hakone Free Pass, a Tokyo Metro Pass for 3 days, a Kansai Thru Pass  for 3 days, and the supplement for the Romance Car train. These cards should cover a large part of your trips during the stay. Upon expiry of the 1,500¥ Transport Prepayment Card, or if the line you are travelling on is not covered by your Japan Rail Pass, any travel will be at your own expense by recharging your pre-paid transport card (at vending machines in all stations and metro stations).
  • Travel by metro and bus in the cities (payable by pre-paid transport card, included in your package)
  • Transfers from the train station to the hotels (by foot, bus, metro or taxi)
  • Travel on private train lines (other than JR)
  • Travel on Nozomi and Mizuho high-speed trains (shinkansen)
  • Trips made outside the validity period of the Japan Rail Pass
  • Japan Rail Pass: It is not necessary to possess a Japan Rail Pass which covers your entire stay. This is only cost-effective if it is used for long journeys between the different stages of your stay (especially in shinkansen) which are very expensive. In large cities like Tokyo, only about ⅓ of public transport is covered by the Japan Rail Pass and getting around is relatively cheap (Tokyo metro tickets: £1.71 / 2.42$; Kyoto daily bus card: £4.28 / 5.97$). Thus, providing you with a Japan Rail Pass for more than 7 days (14 or 21) would not be cost-effective and, on the contrary, would significantly increase the cost of your trip.
  • If a person taking part in the tour is a Japanese national and a resident of Japan, or a foreigner with tax residence in Japan (including a student), then that person is not eligible for the Japan Rail Pass. Please contact us to get the price of the tour without a Japan Rail Pass. They will have to buy the train tickets for the tour directly in Japan. The Kansai Thru Pass is also subject to the same nationality/residency requirements. This is not the case for the Hakone Free pass. If this person is a Japanese citizen but not a resident of Japan, then he/she can benefit from the Japan Rail Pass under certain conditions (see  https://www.japan-experience.com/frequently-asked-questions ).

Your activities :

  • Airport reception is in English. Your airport assistant will be waiting for you at the customs exit holding a sign with the name of the reservation. They will give you your travel documents and take you to your airport transfer. They will not accompany you to Tokyo (this is possible, but optional).
  • An English speaking Travel Angel who is a specialist in Japan will be there to welcome you to your traditional house in Kyoto. They will give you the keys, explain how the house and its facilities work, give you a tour of the area (tourist sites, supermarkets, bike rental...) and answer all your questions. They will be available throughout your stay in case of any problems or questions.
  • The guided tour of Gion takes place in groups of 12 people maximum, from from 6pm to 7:30/8:00pm. In English. More details on the meeting place in your travel journal. Dinner is not planned but your guide will be able to give you their best spots.
  • The shiatsu massage in Kyoto is performed for both members of the couple at the same time, most of the time in the same room, but this is not always guaranteed.
  • Romantic guided day tour in Tokyo : Your guide will pick you up at your flat at 9am, and the day will last until 5pm. Your meals, transport and visits are at your expense. Those of the guide are included in your tour. Details in your travel diary.
  • Kimono rental does not include make-up

Your meals :

  • Traditional Japanese dinner and Japanese breakfast (mostly savoury) are included in your ryokan. Do not hesitate to indicate any dietary requirements you may have, we will pass them on to the ryokan so that they can take them into account when planning the meals. If the ryokan does not take any of these dietary requirements into account, we cannot be held responsible and no compensation will be issued.
  • Breakfasts which are not included in your package can be added at the reception when you arrive at the hotel. However, you will find many cafés near your hotel serving copious breakfasts, often tastier than those in the hotels, which sometimes have tight schedules and are predominantly savory. However, if you would like to add breakfast to your offer when you make your reservation, you can select it as an option.
  • The traditional Japan Experience houses are equipped for cooking and are located close to supermarkets and markets.

Your additional services:

  • A pocket wifi is included in your tour. It allows unlimited high-speed internet access. Your Pocket WiFi will be given to you at the airport of arrival.
  • It comes with a small booklet to operate your device (don't panic: simple operation) and a prepaid envelope to return your device at the end of your stay. Your pocket wifi will work naturally until the last day of your trip to Japan.
  • A maximum of 5 devices can be connected to a pocket wifi (phone, tablet, computer).
  • A single pocket wifi is provided for a circuit order of 1 to 5 people. For an order of 6 people or more, a second pocket wifi will be added automatically and at no extra cost to your reservation.

Most Japan Experience tours begin in Tokyo. This is because it is the gateway to both modern and traditional Japan. Tokyo allows a traveller to enter Japan step by step, whilst getting used to the time difference. Tokyo also has Japan's top two airports in terms of traffic. A few of our tours end in the Kansai region (Kyoto or Osaka). The return flight then goes from from Kansai International Airport (KIX), the 3rd largest airport in Japan, offering many possibilities for return flights to Europe without any real extra cost compared to a return flight from Tokyo. On these tours, the Japan Rail Pass does not cover the whole tour, allowing you to reduce the total price of the tour. And this without losing any transport possibilities as the Japan Rail Pass is of little use in Kansai. However, tours are available from Tokyo and sometimes other cities in Japan.

The best time to visit Japan for honeymoon

There is no worst time to visit Japan as it can really depend on what your interests are.

Japan stretches from cooler temperatures in Hokkaido to tropical vibes in Okinawa.

Typically, the best time to visit Japan for honeymoon is from March to May for cherry blossom season and from September to November as the autumn leaves change .

Sakura season, when the cherry blossom trees come into bloom, emerges in March in the country’s south. April is the peak time as the trees bloom further north.

This is an extremely busy time of year for crowds in Japan, but it’s when the colours are vibrant and beautiful.

Golden Week is a big national holiday at the beginning of May when domestic tourists are on the move, too, making it busy and expensive.

June to August is hot and you will get more rainfall. August is another busy month for travel period as it is the school holidays.

September is a lovely time to visit, and October is one of the best months to visit.

It’s much cooler from November to February, and these months are low season. You’ll get snowfall in the north, ideal for skiing and winter sports.

It’s the dry season in Okinawa although from December to February the temperatures are cooler (early 20s°C /late 60s°F) in the south during winter.

Where to stay on a Japan honeymoon

Hotels in Japan are similar standard to those you’ll find elsewhere in the world and there is a range of everything from cosy budget capsule hotels to ultra luxury hotels.

Rooms are on the small side usually, as space is at a premium. It’s unlikely you’ll have a king sized bed unless you’re staying in an high-end luxury hotel .

Ryokans are traditional Japanese inns where you can experience authentic Japanese culture. A stay in a Ryokan is a must on your trip to Japan.

Ryokans are basic, with tatami-matted floors, paper sliding doors, futon bedding, and shared bathrooms. Guests must remove their shoes before entering. They often include breakfast and dinner.

Many ryokans have onsens. Onsens are hot springs . They have been part of Japanese culture for centuries and are renowned for their healing properties.

Onsens are segregated by gender and bathing suits are prohibited . Yes, you are completely naked in an onsen.

Couples with tattoos may not be permitted to use an onsen. It’s best to check before booking.

Shukubo is a temple lodging. These are a unique way to immerse yourself in the traditional lifestyle of Buddhist monks.

Accommodation is basic, with Japanese rooms, futon bedding, and shared bathrooms. The evening meal is a Buddhist vegetarian known as Shojin.

Where to eat on a Japan honeymoon

Where to start? Sushi , teriyaki, ramen, wagyu , sashimi, udon, to name a few names you’ll know from home. Cafes, bars, bakeries, markets. From street food to high end dining establishments, Japan is THE iconic foodie honeymoon mecca .

We could ask one thousand travel writers for a take on where and what to eat in Japan and they’d all come back with unique recommendations.

You’ll find sushi bars and ramen restaurants widely available. Rice or noodles combined with fish, meat, or vegetables and flavoured with miso and soy sauce are staples.

Vegetarians, vegans and those living with coeliac disease may struggle in Japan, particularly outside of the cities.

Many Japanese dishes contain some sort of fish ingredient and/or soy sauce (which contains gluten).

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t visit Japan, but it is helpful to learn some Japanese phrases so that you can communicate your needs.

To plot out a Japan honeymoon eating list, we’d recommend checking out the Time Out Guide and Michelin Guide .

How to get around Japan

Most couples will use the innovative rail network to get around on their Japan honeymoon.

The Shinkansen  or bullet trains are one of Japan’s best innovations. A Japan Rail Pass or JR Pass is essential if you’re taking multiple train journeys throughout the country.

This is a special fare ticket that is available to tourists only who are visiting Japan from foreign countries for sightseeing.

However, just remember the Japan Rail pass does not include all bullet trains or metros. The Japan Rail Pass is unnecessary if you’re only taking in one or two stops, but it’s excellent value for couples touring the country on a Japan honeymoon.

Getting around on your Japan honeymoon by train is a fantastic way to make your honeymoon more sustainable . The trains are clean, safe and efficient.

You can choose from Green (upgraded) or Ordinary (standard) travel level for 7, 14 or 21 days. You can only use the pass on consecutive days.

Although Green cars are quieter, seats must be reserved, so the Ordinary car can be much quicker to travel and organise. Book your Japan Rail Pass with GetYourGuide.com .

Except for airport trains, Japanese trains do not have lots of luggage space. Step in, Takuhaibin.

Takuhaibin is a service where your accommodation will forward your luggage to your next hotel. No scrambling through train stations with a suitcase full of souvenirs.

Get a Pasmo or Suica card for city metros. Avoid rush hour if you can (7 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 6 pm) unless you want to feel like a packed sardine.

It’s highly unusual for couples to hire a car in Japan, although of course not impossible. Traffic can be heavy in the cities.

How to plan a Japan honeymoon itinerary

After years of working as a travel agent, we know couples planning a Japan honeymoon can get a little overwhelmed at the prospect of how to plan a Japan honeymoon itinerary .

It’s true, you could spend a month in Japan and not fully scratch the surface, so it’s important to be realistic about what you can see and do if you’re travelling for less time.

When planning your itinerary, remember that 2 nights will only give you 1 full day to explore/relax, 3 nights = 2 full days, 4 nights = 3 full days, and so on.

Japan, for most couples, is an adventure and cultural honeymoon with plenty of moving around. However, you’ll want some relaxing days, too.

The best way to maximise this incredible destination is to explore the multitude of beautiful locations on a tour of the country by train. How much time you have and how much you want to travel, sightsee and relax will help you decide on where to go

Are you more interested in history and architecture? Are you going for the scenery, or for the food or are you going for the shopping? Or a combination of everything?

You can opt for a self-guided rail tour or, if you’re short on time, consider a small group adventure tour with a company like G Adventures.

Japan Honeymoon Destinations – where to go in Japan

Japan is comprised of nearly 7000 islands. Most couples stick with the main island Honshu and concentrate their time around the Kansai and Kantō regions.

If you’ve more time, it’s worth exploring other parts like Kyushu, Hokkaido and the beaches of Okinawa.

We’ve got our favourite Japan honeymoon destinations below for a first time visit.

You’re going to be obsessed with a honeymoon in Tokyo. This sprawling metropolis is a highlight of any Japan honeymoon itinerary.

Start by booking a quick tour with a local guide . Then, master the metro and you might even master this enigmatic city, opening up endless possibilities for exploration and adventure.

Tokyo is the largest city in the world (by population). Look down at it all from the Tokyo Skytree , which has incredible panoramic views of the city.

Take a tour of the Tokyo city’s sights . Meiji Shrine is a must-see, with its impressive wooden Torii gate, the largest in the world.

If you’re interested in learning about the history of Japan’s Emperor, then the Imperial Palace is a great place to visit.

Visit the ancient Buddhist temple, Senso-ji . For a unique perspective on your honeymoon in Tokyo, take a ride on a water bus and see the city from a different angle.

Spend a day at Tokyo Disney Resort . See a sumo wrestling match in Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Art lovers will adore Tokyo. Explore the innovative art installations and multi sensory experiences by TeamLab . Visit Yayoi Kusama museum ( book tickets early!).

If you visit during cherry blossom, nature’s art can be found at the picturesque, Nakameguro neighbourhood as the powdery pink flowers hang over the canal.

Tokyo is all about the food, though. We’d need to write a book rather than one article to cover the culinary highlights of Tokyo!

Visit the famous Tsukiji Fish Market . Take a tour in the morning and try Yakitori and Wagyu Beef. The vibrant atmosphere is an assault on the senses.

Explore the vibrant street culture and people watch. Enjoy the neon lights and dive bars of Shinjuku’s Golden Gai and tiny restaurants of Omoide Yokocho. Take a sushi making class and go on a ramen tasting tour .

Go bar hopping in Shibuya and drink Japanese craft beers and sake cocktails. Don’t forget to walk the world’s busiest crossing road intersection, the Shibuya Crossing , a rite of passage for Tokyo visitors.

Hakone & Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji , also known as Fuji-san, is the iconic symbol of Japan. The majestic mountain stands at 3,776m tall and is surrounded by beautiful lakes and quaint villages.

A visit to the Fuji Five Lakes is a must-do for couples on a Japan honeymoon.

The Lake Kawaguchi area is one of the most beautiful areas to see Mt Fuji. On a still, clear day, you can see a perfect mirror image reflected in the lake.

One must-visit spot in the area is the Arakurayama Sengen Park , which has stunning views and the famous Chureito Pagoda . This is one of the most photographed spots in Japan.

Oishi Park is another beautiful spot to visit, with its flower gardens and spectacular views of the lake and mountain.

Visit the thatched-roof houses and experience life as it was in old Japan at Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba .

Another must-do is the charming mountainous town of Hakone . The Hakone Shrine, a Shinto shrine with a red “torii” gate overlooking Lake Ashi , which can be toured by boat.

While you can take a day trip to Hakone from Tokyo, we’d recommend spending a day or two exploring the beautiful and romantic scenery from the many onsen in Hakone.

Soak in the therapeutic waters of the traditional baths, the perfect place to unwind after exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Owakudani Valley.

You can take the cable car to the top of the valley for incredible views, too.

The Japanese Alps

Nagano is the jump off point to the picturesque Japanese Alps in the middle of Honshu and home to the 7th century temple, Zenko-ji.

In this beautiful mountainous region, in the hot springs town of Yudanaka, you’ll also find Japan’s cutest creature , the snow monkey .

Visit Matsumoto Castle , one of the few remaining original castles in Japan, and marvel at its impressive architecture and history. The castle is one of the most picturesque in Japan, with its black and white exterior and striking views of the surrounding mountains.

Takayama is another charming town giving you a glimpse into traditional Japanese life . Explore the quaint streets of this historic town.

Take a quick trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Shirakawago and see the unique thatched-roof houses.

These traditional houses, known as gassho-zukuri, are a unique example of traditional Japanese architecture, and are a must-visit for anyone interested in Japanese history and culture.

From April to November, hike the trails around crystal-clear rivers, soaring peaks, and lush forests in Kamikochi .

Try local specialties, such as Hida beef and sake made from pure mountain water. Take to the hills on the Magome-Tsumago Trail , part of the Nakasendo trail that connected Tokyo with Kyoto in ancient times.

Tsumago is a picture with its preserved winding streets and wood buildings.

Where to stay in the Japanese Alps: Oyado Yamakyu Takayama |

Kanazawa is a hidden gem (well compared to Kyoto!). The city is a fascinating focus on preserving traditional culture.

At its heart lies Kenrokuen , one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan, next to Kanazawa Castle , a faithful reproduction of a shogun’s stronghold. If you’re visiting in spring, it’s a magnificent spot to admire cherry blossoms.

Take a tour and discover where geishas and samurais once lived, and traditional tea houses still operate. The surrounding area is known for onsens, too.

Art enthusiasts will appreciate the city’s museums, which include the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and the D.T. Suzuki Museum.

Meanwhile, foodies will enjoy the local cuisine, which features fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan, Kaga vegetables, and locally produced sake.

You can experience the food scene by exploring Omicho Market , a bustling marketplace with vendors selling fresh seafood, fruits, vegetables, and other local delicacies.

Where to stay: Beniya Mukayu | Kaname Inn Tatemachi

Kyoto will probably be your favourite. It’s the cultural heart of Japan and you can’t leave it off your Japan honeymoon itinerary. With its lovely temples, traditional neighborhoods, and delicious cuisine, Kyoto is a feast for the senses.

Start your journey with a visit to the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine , known for its thousands of torii gates.

Take a hike through the gates and enjoy the beautiful view from the top of the mountain. For a chance to spot geisha and maiko, take a stroll around the traditional neighborhoods of Gion .

Admire their beautiful kimono and traditional makeup as they hurry to their appointments.

Sample the culinary wares in Nishiki Market . Witness the variety of cherry blossoms at Maruyama Park .

Visit Kinkakuji Temple , also known as the Golden Pavilion, and marvel at the spectacular reflection of the temple on the pond.

Experience the serene tranquility of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Grove . Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto is breathtaking panoramic views and the temple’s Jishu Shrine is a sacred spot where couples can pray for luck in love by walking blindfolded between two stones.

Take a day trip to Uji , between Nara and Kyoto to try the famous matcha green tea . Take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Kyoto will be one of your favourite cities in the world.

Despite not being seen as desirable as Tokyo or Kyoto, Osaka holds some of the best culinary gems of Japan.

Many of the day trips you can take from Kyoto, you can take from Osaka as they are close together, but we think it’s definitely worth a stop in the city.

Plus, many airlines fly to Osaka, too, so it’s a good entry point to the country .

Take a foodie tour of Shinsekai district . Explore Dotonbori , famous for its flashy neon signs and bustling atmosphere with delicious street food.

Go shopping and clubbing in Amerikamura . Visit the impressive Osaka Castle which was built in the 16th century.

Osaka is also a fantastic jump off point to some Japan honeymoon highlights. Take a day trip to tranquil Nara , just a short train ride away from Osaka.

Go on a bike tour of the picturesque town is famous for its ancient temples and friendly sika deer , which roam freely around the city’s parks and streets.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Todaiji Temple , which is home to a giant bronze statue of Buddha and is one of the most important cultural sites in Japan.

Another popular day trip from Osaka is Himeji Castle , which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful castles in Japan.

This impressive fortress, known for its white walls and elegant architecture, is a popular destination for history buffs and photographers.

While you can take a day tour , we recommend staying overnight in a temple lodging (shukubo), at Koyasan on Mount Koya . It’s the centre of a small temple to of Shingon Buddhism and a sacred and fascinating place to visit.

You can also go to Universal Studios Japan with popular attractions like Harry Potter and Jurassic Park. As you can see, you’d be crazy to not explore Osaka!

A visit to Hiroshima, and in particular, the Hiroshima Peace Park and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, is a thought-provoking experience.

Both are a must-visit for anyone interested in learning about the events leading up to the atomic bombing and its devastating aftermath. The museum features exhibits on the history of nuclear weapons, personal accounts of the survivors, and artefacts from the bombing.

Explore the reconstructed Hiroshima Castle. Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island is just a short ferry ride from Hiroshima and a simple day trip . Known for its beautiful scenery, including the iconic torii gate in the water.

Visitors can also hike to the top of Mount Misen for striking views of the surrounding area. A visit to Hiroshima is a powerful and humbling experience that will stay with you long after you leave Japan.

Kyushu Island

Just south of Hoshu, the highlights of Kyushu Island are easy to add on to your Japan honeymoon itinerary if you’ve got time.

Once an industrial city, the city of Fukuoka was recently listed on Lonely Planet’s Eat List for 2022 . You’ve got temples, shrines and castles to explore in between eating. Fukuoka is just a 4 hour ferry ride to Korea, too.

Nagasaki should be your go-to on the island. This city is, of course, famous for its tragic history when the United States government dropped an atomic bomb on the city during WW2.

These days you’ll find a charming city with a picturesque harbour and laid-back atmosphere. The poignant and heart wrenching Atomic Bomb museum , a sobering reminder of the catastrophic devastation caused by war.

For those seeking adventure, add on Kumamoto with its famous castle and beautiful landscaped gardens.

But what really sets this area apart is its hiking trails and hot springs, from the delightful hot springs town of Kurokawa Onsen to the playful pleasures of Beppu on the east coast.

And while the mountain village of Takachiho may require a detour, this area brings Japan’s ancient gods to life with its striking gorge and waterfall.

Heading further south, you’ll encounter Kyūshū’s volcanic wonders and breathtaking scenery.

The majestic Sakurajima , one of the world’s most active volcanoes, towers over the city of Kagoshima, while the lush island of Yakushima, roughly 100km south of Kyūshū, with towering, thousand-year-old cedar trees.

Kyushu is also home to some of Japan’s most luxurious honeymoon train rides, Seven Stars in Kyushu , Japan and the Jr Kyushu / Aru Ressha Sweet Train .

Whether you’re an adventure seeker, hot-spring enthusiast, train lover or simply looking for wonderful scenery, Kyūshū’s districts have got you covered.

Okinawa is a group of 160 islands in the most southern part of Japan, part of the Nansei Shoto island chain, which stretches from Japan to Taiwan.

They are also known as the Ryukyu Islands , after the native culture which differs significantly from that of mainland Japan, with distinct differences in language, cuisine, arts, and more.

There are three main island groups: the Okinawa Islands surrounding Okinawa Honto, the Miyako Islands surrounding Miyako Island, and the Yaeyama Islands surrounding Ishigaki Island.

Okinawa has a subtropical climate, so even in winter, temperatures don’t drop below 15°C/60°F.

You’ll find beautiful coral reefs and abundant marine life. It’s a haven for snorkelling and scuba diving popular activities and perfect for an island hopping honeymoon.

We love Ishigaki Island , which is known for its beautiful beaches and coral reefs, plus hikes with beautiful waterfalls. It’s also one of our favourite destinations in the world for stargazing .

Consider Taketomi Island, which is a small and peaceful island with traditional Ryukyu houses and lovely scenery. Miyako Island is home to some of Japan’s best beaches.

Don’t miss Naha, home to the most famous cultural site of the region, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shuri Castle .

Okinawa’s location in the south of Japan means it is quite far from Tokyo, but it is easily accessible by plane.

Flights from Tokyo or Osaka to Okinawa take around 2 hours, depending on the island you travel to.

The most popular airport in Okinawa is Naha Airport, which is on the main island and offers connections to other islands in the region and also destinations like Seoul in Korea and Taipei in Taiwan.

It’s covered in forest, mountains, lakes and hot springs. In summer, hikers and cyclists will love the national parks like Shiretoko and Daisetsuzan National Park .

In winter,   Hokkaido is a world class skiing and snowboarding destination. Explore the slopes of Niseko and Rusutsu , which attract visitors from around the world.

Stroll the canal lined streets of Otaru and enjoy the food and beer of the Hokkaido’s biggest city, Sapporo.

Japan Honeymoon Frequently Asked Questions

Is japan good for honeymoon.

Japan is an incredible honeymoon destination for couples seeking culture, history and culinary delights. With Okinawa beaches added on, Japan has it all.

How to get to Japan?

You can fly directly to Japan from most major Asian cities and also from Europe, Australia & New Zealand , the USA and Middle East.

Tokyo has two airports, Narita (airport code: NRT) is where most international airlines fly to.

The second airport, Haneda (airport code: HND), is closer to the city by about 30 minutes, so worth considering.

Also, look at flying to or from Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (airport code: KIX). You could fly into Osaka and home from Tokyo to maximise your time, for example.

How long should we stay in Japan for our honeymoon?

The longest possible time you can!

The duration of a Japan honeymoon will depend on several factors, including your available time, budget, and the type of experience you’re looking to have.

We’d recommend at least 10 nights, but ideally 14-21+ nights, to visit all the highlights.

How much does a Japan honeymoon packages cost?

How long is a piece of string?

A short Tokyo to Kyoto basic adventure group tour will be $/£/€1300 per person not including flights.

For most couples looking for a mid-range 10-night itinerary, the cost of most Japan honeymoon packages can stretch into 5-figures per couple.

Should we use a travel agent to book Japan?

Planning a Japan honeymoon can seem a little daunting, but it is an easy place to travel despite potential language barriers.

A good travel agent who books Japan regularly will usually have a direct relationship with a local destination management company and / or tour operator.

This means they may have preferential rates, so it’s definitely worth checking things with a trusted travel agent.

Using a travel agent comes with many pros

However, if you prefer to book a D-I-Y Japan honeymoon package , we’d recommend choosing a flexible hotel rate with free cancellation with  Booking.com . You can get great discounts with their loyalty programme.

When you’re booking flights, if you can’t fly directly and are booking connecting flights, give yourself enough time to change airplanes. We’d recommend at least a 2 to 3-hour layover for a stress-free experience.

Do not go to Japan without checking if the Japan Rail Pass is suitable for your trip. You can purchase the Japan Rail Pass here .

Don’t forget to have travel insurance in place before booking!

Lastly, book your Japan honeymoon well in advance. Particularly, if you plan to travel during cherry blossom season.

Is Japan safe for LGBTQ+ couples?

Japan is a safe place to travel, although petty crime can occur, so normal travel safety precautions are recommended.

Same-sex sexual activity is not illegal and you’ll find fun LGBTQ+ friendly neighbourhoods like the Shinjuku Ni-chome district in Tokyo and Doyamacho district in Osaka.

Japan is a relatively conservative country though, so local attitudes may vary, as it sadly does the world over, so discretion is recommended.

Hotels do not discriminate against LGBTQ+ couples when extending complimentary honeymoon amenities (where applicable). Many LGBTQ+ couples travel to Japan on their honeymoon.

Should we bring cash / should we tip?

Cash is still king in Japan. Not all ATMs accept international cards, so having cash on your is important.

You can use your credit card in department stores and large hotels.

Smaller shops and local restaurants are unlikely to accept card. Always plan to have enough cash on you.

Tipping is not part of the culture of Japan.

What to pack for a Japan honeymoon?

The Japanese are stylish. Pack your favourite sneakers but leave the barely there clothes behind as Japan is still a conservative country and locals don’t show lots of skin.

What Japan souvenirs can you buy?

Japan is a shopper’s paradise so make plenty of room in your suitcase!

From traditional handicrafts like bamboo ware, kimonos, and wood-block prints to cutting-edge fashion brands and delicious local food and sake, every couple comes home with a few treats.

It’s one of the best destinations in the world to shop for electronics.

In the bustling cities of Japan, shopping districts are centered around major train stations and each has its own unique vibe.

Just remember, haggling or bargaining isn’t a thing in Japan. The price you see is the price you pay, but with so many amazing finds, you won’t care about negotiating!

What to read and watch before a Japan honeymoon?

Watch Seven Samurai ( 1954, Akira Kurosawa ) | Lost in Translation ( 2003, Sophia Coppola )| The Last Samurai ( 2003, Edward Zwick ) | Letters from Iwo Jima ( 2006, Clint Eastwood ) Memoirs of a Geisha ( 2011, Rob Marshall ) | Godzilla ( 2014, Gareth Edwards ) | Jiro Dreams of Sushi ( 2011, David Gelb ) |  Silence ( 2016, Martin Scorsese )

Read Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden |  Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata | Kokoro by Natsume Soseki | In Praise of Shadows by Jun’ichiro Tanizaki

Where can we tag on to Japan for a multi-destination honeymoon?

Japan is an easy country to get to and as you can see, you can easily spend your whole honeymoon here!

If you have time, there are direct flights to many other nearby destinations to create an epic multi-destination honeymoon including China , Vietnam , Thailand , Indonesia and Malaysia.

You can also fly directly from multiple North American cities, including Toronto & Vancouver, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas and Hawaii.

A magical Hawaii & Japan honeymoon would be truly bucket-list worthy if you have the time.

Japan etiquette & travel tips

  • Book a handy portable Wi-Fi router so you can use your phone on the go, alternatively make Google Maps and Google Translate available offline.
  • Like on London’s tube, beware of elevator etiquette. Stand left, pass right on the elevators in Tokyo and the opposite in Osaka. Just follow the non-tourist crowd.
  • Where it says no photography (at temples and shrines for example), don’t take photographs
  • Toilets are, in a word, interesting. Embrace the experience. You’ll be wondering how you’re going to go back to western toilet habits!
  • Pack your best socks. It’s appropriate to remove your shoes when entering Ryokans, homes and other establishments. You can use the ‘toilet slippers’.
  • While there are many self service check outs, don’t hand money to shop workers, leave on the tray provided instead.
  • Wear masks on public transport.
  • Avoid eating and walking on the go.
  • Don’t shout or speak loudly in public places, it’s considered rude.

A destination that bubbles with vibrant cityscapes, ancient temples, beaches, lakes and mountains – Japan’s reputation as a world-class honeymoon destination is gathering pace.

At a time when multi-moons are all the rage, the land of the Rising Sun offers something unique: an easily navigable archipelago with diverse terrain and climate, distinctive regions brimming with their own cultures and a modern, quick and reliable transport network that can zip you between Japan’s dramatic scenery and must-see sites. A tour through Japan’s different regions will leave you feeling as though you’ve scaled several nations – without the hassle of having to change currency or language.

Be transported to the past via pristine, peaceful Zen gardens, and a seemingly endless trail of castles, shrines and temples. Then re-emerge from your pilgrimage into dazzling mega-cities with game-changing gastronomic scenes, innovative architecture and exciting nightlife.

Japan honeymoon tours and packages

With so much to see and do, from ski resorts boasting powder-soft snow to tropical islands and cities that reflect the changing seasons, Japan is the ideal destination for tours and multi-centre honeymoon packages.

Can’t choose between an exciting city break, relaxing lakeside spa experience, laid-back beach honeymoon or a romantic ski trip? You may be able to enjoy a little of everything in one destination. Explore our Japan honeymoon packages to find out more about tailoring a bespoke honeymoon to begin married life on an exciting adventure.

If you’re a couple of thrill-seekers, Hokkaidō fits the bill thanks to its volcanoes, rugged and unspoiled national parks, lavender farms, crystal clear lakes and an abundance of high-quality ski resorts with powder-like snow. It’s ideal for nature lovers, wildlife spotters and winter sports enthusiasts, but you can also take in the cool capital, Sapporo – famous for its beer, ramen and snow festival – or warm up together in a steaming hot spring. On a clear day, you might even be able to catch a glimpse of the nearby Russian islands.

To get off the beaten track, loved up travellers can head to Tōhoku, which stretches across the northeastern part of Honshu – Japan’s largest island. Easy to reach from both Tokyo and Hokkaido, it’s a ski-lover’s paradise but, as well as a winter wonderland, there’s colourful summer festivals, largely untamed countryside, primeval forests and historic sites such as Hiraizumi, an ancient city littered with temples and ruins.

Japan’s most famous region, Kantō is home to the sprawling and futuristic metropolis that is the Greater Tokyo Area. Flit between the brilliant neon cities of Tokyo and Yokohama in under an hour and enjoy craft beer, Michelin-starred restaurants, chic shopping areas, vibrant districts abuzz with jazz clubs, games arcades and karaoke bars, all alongside museums, contemporary architecture, temples and shrines.

You’ll be spoilt with honeymoon photo opportunities if you stop at the towering Tokyo Skytree for panoramic city views, take in the sights and smells of the multitude of markets, attend a day of sumo wrestling or step into another world at a teamLab immersive digital art display. But despite the development, Kantō offers its own scenery too – with plenty of hiking spots and Kamakura providing a slice of laid-back Japanese beach life.

Some of Japan’s biggest hitters are situated in Chūbu, which sits at the heart of Honshu. Many visitors use Tokyo as a base to explore this region’s top attractions in a day or a weekend – but there’s so much to enjoy that newlyweds will benefit from venturing further. This region is, first and foremost, home to the iconic Mount Fuji and Fuji Five Lakes. Fuji-san is notoriously shy, so don’t rush your trip as you may miss the best of this spectacular volcano on a cloudy day. Head to an onsen hotel somewhere in scenic Hakone, along the stunning Lake Ashi, and relax together in an onsen, while waiting patiently for the chance to glimpse Japan’s most famous attraction.

This region also encompasses the Japanese Alps and Nagano, which offers shrines and hiking aplenty as well as a ninja museum, plus Yamanouchi’s famous hot spring bathing monkeys.

For the perfect blend of old meets new, any Japan tour worth its salt will take you on extensive sightseeing around Kansai, which claims Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka, Nara and Himeji as its own. For a taste of Japan’s feudal history, you can view the 17th century Himeji Castle, perched high above scenic grounds, while feeding the roaming deer at the picturesque Nara Park is another bucket list must.

Osaka, with its bright city lights and street food, and Kyoto – peppered with bamboo forests, tranquil gardens, tea houses, river cruises, and endless shrines and temples – need no introduction. Although, we’d recommend visiting in spring’s almost unreal cherry blossom season for the full benefit of Kyoto’s carefully curated green spaces, traditional buildings, waterfront walks and cultural activities such as spring geisha dances.

Take the road less traveled together in Chūgoku and see some of rural Japan at its best. Located in western Honshu, this region is stuffed full of hidden gems – from the Tottori sand dunes, Hagi’s Wolrd Heritage sites and Akiyoshido’s limestone caves, to the quaint canal town of Kurashiki.

That is, of course, all before we get to the jewel in the crown – the prefecture and city of Hiroshima. Usually the last stop on the commonly trod tourist trail, this friendly city has a haunting history you can pay your respects to via the Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Peace Museum/Park, but also plenty to recommend it for a romantic break including Miyajima, a lush island with a famous floating red torii gate and a ropeway that will give you memorable views of the lush Mt Misen. You can also begin your exploration of some of the Seto Inland Sea’s islands in the cat-loving city of Onomichi, where you’ll rent a bicycle to help you traverse the Shimanami Kaido – a 60 kilometre toll road that connects Honshu to Shikoku.

Stop and take in the panoramic scenery as you cycle the Shimanami Kaido together on a tandem bicycle and finish up the trail in Imabari on Shikoku, Japan’s smallest major island. It’s best known for its 88-temple pilgrimage route, which is now a popular walking trail, as well as the whirlpools of Naruto and the remote and dramatic Iya Valley – parts of which you have to traverse via vine bridges that hang over gorges and rivers. While here, couples can also continue to island hop across the Seto Inland Sea, where olives and citrus grow in the Mediterranean-like climate, with Naoshima top of the list if you like eye-catching modern art.

Kyushu and Okinawa

Japan’s southernmost islands stand out for their subtropical climate, making them a great spot for honeymooners that want to combine culture and history with some more typical beach time. From Beppu’s hot springs to the Ibusuki sand baths and funky, urban Fukuoka, there’s something for everyone. Nagasaki is one of Kyushu’s largest cities, and a great base to explore the region from, while soaking up the sun and digging into shaved ice desserts. A stop at the Peace Park is a must to understand the city’s past but it’s also chock full of trams, fascinating trade and colonial history, as well as one of the world’s most romantic nighttime views from Mt Inasa.

Just off from Kyushu, honeymooners can choose from a number of exotic island escapes: there’s the waterfalls, turtle watching and ancient cedar forests of Yakushima; snorkelling, scuba diving and sunbathing galore in the Okinawa Islands; and the relative unspoilt tropical beauty and white sand beaches of the Miyako Islands and Yaeyama Islands, Japan’s very own ‘Caribbean’.

Your introduction to Japan begins by touching down in the world’s most modern city – Tokyo. Its contrasts between the old and the new, the traditional and eclectic make Tokyo an exciting place for travelers to visit from all over the world. Here, explore the city’s top spots including the world-famous Tsukiji Fish Market, the dazzling Sensoji Temple and its colorful Nakamise shopping street and the sacred Meiji Jingu Shrine, plus a chance to get a bird’s-eye view of Tokyo atop the country’s newest architectural marvel – the Tokyo SkyTree. We also journey beyond the bright lights to beautiful Kamakura, a heritage town about one hour outside Tokyo, famed for its Hasedera Temple and Great Buddha.

After a few days of excitement in Tokyo, embark on a time journey to one of Japan’s most romantic regions, Gifu, known for its traditional culture and sleepy atmosphere, reminiscent of the ancient Edo period. Here, we soak up the tranquil atmosphere of Takayama, a castle town of old wooden houses and cobbled alleyways that instantly captivates the visitor, as well as a visit to Shirakawa-go, a small rustic village and UNESCO World Heritage Site of traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses with a 250 year history. Next, proceed to Gero. Affectionately known by locals as one of the most beautiful Onsen (hot spring) destinations, Gero rewards the visitor with its sensational Onsen spas, pristine natural setting and fabulous Ryokans, which offer beautiful gardens and incomparable hospitality.

Your journey continues to the ancient capital of Kyoto, where you’ll enjoy a leisurely bicycle ride through the back streets of the city, which are dotted with spectacular shrines and imposing temples. Visitors become truly immersed in its unsurpassed charm, fascinating Japanese culture and omnipresent spirituality. In addition, we take a trip to another ancient capital, Nara, catching a glimpse of its remarkable Todaiji Temple, famed for being the world’s largest wooden building that houses the country’s largest Buddha statue.  It’s adjacent to Nara Park, where over 1,000 free-roaming deer abound, and Kasuga Taisha, one of the most celebrated Shrines in all of Japan.

From Tokyo’s towering SkyTree to Shirakawa-go’s rustic wooden villages, Gero’s soothing hot-springs to Kyoto’s Imperial castles and architectural masterpieces – this is a journey that goes beyond the imagination.

Japan has all four seasons’ in a year (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and all are culturally important. Late spring (March to May) and late autumn (September to November) are generally the best time to visit Japan because at this time skies are clear. There is very little rainfall, and temperatures are mild, and vivid hues of autumn leaves and spring season’s attractive cherry blossom looks stunning.

Here, colder months from December to February are not that much appealing to number of visitors when travelling to Japan cheaper as well as it is less crowded and costs less to many things. Hakone and Mt. Fuji can be visited year-round as summer and winter both suitable for visits.
