While camping in the great outdoors, nothing happens at night. Those nights in nature can get lonely, long, and boring if you do not have a TV along for the ride. A TV mounted on the right TV mount will make all the difference as you go through those long evening hours before bedtime.

It is recommended that you do not travel with your TV mounted to the arm. You can always mount it when you get to your destination. The maximum weight of your TV mount can hold will depend on the size and the design of the mount.

Is There a Special TV Mount for RV?

There does not seem to be any special design for RVs when it comes to this product. One Jayco discussion forum says that Jayco installs their own brackets but that is for their purposes only.

If you want to add a television set to your RV then you do not have to buy the Jayco version. You can go with one of the ones you find at any accessory or big box store. You can go to Jayco and see if they will sell those mounts separately or if they will direct you to the factory that makes theirs.

But from our research, you can install a regular TV mount made for your home in an RV.

What TV Mount Does Jayco Use?

According to one dealer, Jayco seems to use the Mor Ride mount Part#24-0105. This may not be consistent with all Jayco models and you should ask a dealer about the TV mount. Jayco does not sell a bolt kit only for these mounts. They sell the whole package including the mount.

The dealer said to make sure to use one made for an RV as other models bought from a big box store may fill off the wall. How accurate that information is not known. There could be slighTVriations to the same mount kit, one for the traditional home and one for the RV but we have not seen any distinction as of yet.

How do You Mount a TV to a Jayco?

Installation is not that difficult. First, you have to find the supports that will hold the mount. According to one dealer, those supports are behind the wall with the sticker. Second, you need to look in your manual to see if there is a weight limit to those supports. The mount will already have that weight limit for its arm but not the supports.

Third, you simply drill some holes and attach the bolts to the mount and then tighten them in the support. Or you just screw the mount in place. The method depends on the design of your walls and supports.

This is basic handyman work and should not take a long time to get done.

Jayco TV Mounting Instructions

This will vary depending on the design of your RV or trailer. In some smaller versions, Jayco places the antenna and other TV hook ups above the air conditioner but leave no space to mount a television set mount.

In other models, Jayco places a mount TV here sticker on the walls that have the supports to hold a wall mount for television sets. As one dealer has said, do not use any bolts longer than 1 inch. If you do, you risk going through the wall and causing some damage to the RV.

If you are going to drill holes for bolts or screws, make sure there are no wires or other components behind the wall where you are drilling. Make sure to use a stud when you can find one.

Use some anchors that come with the screws already attached and make sure you do not go longer than 1-inch in length. Then drill your hole, place the anchors through the holes in the mount and tighten the screws.

If the screws are too long, you can add a piece of hardwood to go between the wall and the mount. When you are tightening the screws, do it with a screwdriver, not a power drill.

Jayco TV Mount Location

For Jayco, you should use the wall that has the 'mount TV here' stickers on them. But this may not always be possible. If you do not have those stickers or walls, then you are fairly free to locate the mount in the best place for you and your floor plan.

If they do not have one or the price is a little steep for your budget, then you can contact Mor Ride directly. That is said to be the company that supplies Jayco with its RV TV mounts. The part number you can start with is mentioned above.

Or you can just do a quick internet search and pick one of the companies that come up on the results page. Finding one is not going to be the difficult aspect of this process. Finding the right wall and stud in your RV will be.

There is one option called Kebloc and made by L & W Engineering but that information is 7 years old now so they may or may not still be in business. This model seems to do the job quite well.

Begin by unscrewing the bracket that holds the TV support arm into the wall.

Twist this anticlockwise.

Slide the bracket out.

Twist the toggle on the right clockwise until it’s out as far as it can be.

To mount your TV, slide the V-shaped bracket onto the TV arm.

Tighten up the toggle to secure the TV in place.

Plug in your coax and power cable.

You can also insert the RF cable if applicable.

Push the TV back against the wall.

You can now click the power button to turn it on.

The Furrion TV will run on 12V while you are free camping.

However, please keep the draw on the battery in mind.

You will also need to tune your TV in once you arrive at your campsite.
