If it hadn’t been for a career ending knee ligament injury, promising footballer Olly Murs (born 14 May 1984) from Essex, England may never have won the nation’s hearts through his X-Factor journey in 2009 as a pop musician.

This cheeky chappy found his fame on the British television talent competition X Factor in 2009, impressing judges and audiences alike with charisma in abundance and incredible talent. Taking the runner up spot in the final and missing his identical twin brother’s wedding in the process, Murs was soon snapped up by Epic Records and Syco music with whom he signed a record deal with the following year.

Later in 2010, Murs released his debut single “Please Don’t Let Me Go” with its reggae pop infusion which peaked at number one and off his forthcoming debut self-titled album which demonstrated his innate songwriting capabilities. The album debuted in the UK album charts at number two, certifying double platinum and also featured the singles “Thinking of Me” and “Heart on My Sleeve”. The following year Murs embarked on his first solo nationwide tour which saw him play four sold-out shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England. At the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards that year, Murs took home the award for Best British Album.

Releasing his second album “In Case You Didn’t Know” in 2011 saw Murs snatch his first number one album and featured the collaboration with Brit-hop duo Rizzle Kicks on the number one single “Heart Skips a Beat”. For the US release, the single featured American rapper Chiddy Bang. The following year Murs released his third album “Right Place Right Time” which peaked at number one in the UK charts with the lead single “Troublemaker” featuring American rapper Flo Rida. Later that year Murs joined One Direction as a support act on their North American Tour.

Murs’ fourth album “Never Been Better” released in 2014 sees him collaborate with his more hot American talent with Demi Lovato and Travie McCoy featuring as he scored another number one album. Having played across the globe and at T in the Park and V Festival while supporting the likes of JLS, Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams, Murs has proved that he is no one trick pony as he endeavours to conquer the world injecting his little ray of sunshine pop into the charts.

There are many reasons why I go back to see Olly Murs every chance I get. He is a complete showman and has you leaving the venue with a massive smile every time.

I've seen him in many venues from Blackpool, to Alton Towers, and my favourite venue The LG Arena in Birmingham. He takes you on a journey through all his greatest hits making you want to "dance with him tonight" to the slow meaningful ballads about finding love. His band is very involved in the show and you can see how much fun they have performing with him.

He spices things up with his energetic, seductive dancing, and even throws in some cover songs. My favourite has to be when he supported Robbie Williams in his stadium tour last summer and he performed a medley of Earth, Wind and Fires greatest disco songs.

Olly came secnd to Joe Macelderry on the hit show The X Factor in 2009 but I think we can all agree that he has had a soaring success since. He also takes part in the Charity football event Soccer Aid which takes place at Old Trafford this Sunday 8th June. Anything he does is worth going to see. He is a genuine laid back, friendly, not to mention cheeky guy and I recommend his music and gigs to anybody who is a fan just like me.

X Factor alumni turned global pop star, Olly Murs is a great example of the kind of launch platform X Factor can offer artists with integrity and a vision. He has maintained the old school swing influence on his classic pop sound and has won him legions of fans around the world as well as three number one albums in his home country.

The Essex cheeky chap has no problem selling out venues filled with adoring fans and as the old school stage lights illuminate the crowd they cheer in unison before the man himself steps out for 'Army Of Two'. His vocal sounds close to the recording and doesn't falter despite Olly enthusiastically bounding from side to side of stage to personally greet every audience member.

The fans are treated to all the hit singles they were hoping for including 'Heart Skipped A Beat' 'Please Don't Let Me Go' and 'Dance With Me Tonight'. Olly slows the tempo for 'Dear Darlin'' which showcases that classic sounding swing vocal before delighting the crowd with an all out performance of 'Troublemaker' which keeps the fun factor going until the very final beat.

It was a brilliant show. I was quite near the back of the hydro and I could hear him prefectly and clearly. It was a great and exciting atmosphere. This is my second time seeing him and it was even better the second time around. The song choice was amazing and entertaining. It was a very fun and a enjoying show. The DJ who started the show was fantastic he played a lot of songs and got the crowd going mad . As soon as the count down came on for Olly Murs everyone went mad and were screaming. It took me and my friend alone time to get in as the queue was away back but it was definitely worth the wait. The hydro was massive brilliant place for the concert. It was the best concert in a while. Would definitely say it was worth the money. Would recommend this concert to anyone and I hope there's another tour next year

Fantastic night with my daughter at Olly Murs. Had VIP tickets and front row seats which were a bonus. We were given a goodie bag from Olly which contained a personally signed programme, a VIP wristband, a VIP lanyard and a commemorative ticket and a lovely watch which had Olly Murs signature at the back and personalised front with his initials and your name on it. This was a lovely touch. Would definitely go to another concert of his. He is a great entertainer xx

Took my son to his 1st ever gig, which was Olly Murs! He didn't disappoint and my son loves him even more and I have to say so do I! A great performer, cheeky chappy and all round entertainer - fantastic night. He had everyone standing and dancing in their seats, would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Olly Murs or even if your not that fussed!! Enjoy!!

Wow,amazing concert from start till finish, Olly and band was amazing as always. Couldn't have wished for a better night. My 12 year old son is a huge fan and got to meet Olly at the end it was magical you all made my sons dream come true. He was fantastic and really lively. We also had decent seats. He got everybody up to dance and sang all my old favourites. He very cheeky and fun. Ed joined Camilla Cabello on her track 'Bam Bam' and even co-wrote the song. According to Camilla they worked together with Ricky Reed and Scott Harris to turn an older version of the song into the Latin hit it is now, and it only took them a day to write and record it! Lewis Capaldi - 'Pointless' (2022)

Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi spoke about the process of writing his song 'Pointless' with Ed, telling the BBC he was hesitant to collaborate with him: "Every British artist who has a Number 1 record seems to have Ed on it. That's a testament to how good he is but I was wary of it. My ego was going, 'I don't want people thinking Ed wrote my song'." In the end, the pair did work together and co-wrote the track, which was released on Friday 2nd December and will feature on Lewis' second album, 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent' , slated for release in 2023. David Guetta, Anne-Marie, Coi Leray - 'Baby Don't Hurt Me' (2023)

Ed is credited as a writer on David Guetta's huge track 'Baby Don't Hurt Me', which features Anne-Marie and Coi Leray. The song also features a sample from the classic dance track, 'What is Love?' by Haddaway.

But the pop star, 39, made a s ad confession about feeling 'guilty' as he discussed what life has been like since he welcomed his baby daughter Madison last week.

It's been a whirlwind as 48 hours after his wife Amelia Tank gave birth, he was back fulfilling his day job of performing with Take That on tour.

During his performance at the O2, Olly took the opportunity to open up to the audience about how he has been adapting to the 'craziest' time.

MailOnline reported that Olly said: "It's been the most craziest time, because obviously on one hand I've got this beautiful baby girl, my wife is at home looking after her with the nappies, and the sleepless nights. And I'm on tour with Take That. I feel guilty!

"But this week I've been home. I've done the nappies, I've done the late nights and I can't wait to stay on tour. I'm joking! Honestly, she is truly awesome. I never thought I'd be a dad, so I can't quite believe it."

He then pointed to his manhood and joked: "It works! And genuinely I'm super, super proud. And to be on this tour, it's just topped it off. So what an amazing time for me right now. So this next part for me, when I got on this tour, I thought, I just wanna play loads and loads of of my songs that hopefully some of you guys remember."

He continued: "And before the baby was here, we actually called this next section The Minnie MURS Medley. And so, ladies and gentlemen, if you've been following my career since 2009, some of these songs you will remember I hope you guys enjoy them. This is literally my Super Bowl moment!"

Olly went on to play fan favourite hits such as Troublemaker, Moves and Dear Darlin' as he warmed up the crowd for Take That .

The band - made up of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald - then put on a show-stopping performance belting out hits such as Back for Good and Relight My Fire.

Just days ago, Heart Skips A Beat singer Olly shared a snippet of the moment he was reunited with his daughter , Madi, as the pair spent some quality time together watching a football match.

He's been forced to spend time away from her due to work commitments but the singer took to his Instagram Stories to share a sweet snap of a Manchester United baby grow as he tagged the football club and said 'thank you'.

He then caught up with the game whilst enjoying cuddles with his two-week old daughter in bed.

On Wednesday, 17 April, Olly and Amelia shared the news of their little one's arrival into the world , with a sweet snap of them exiting the hospital with their daughter in a car seat.

Fresh from the news that he had officially become a first time dad, Olly revealed his heartache amidst the baby bliss as he had to leave the precious little one behind to head to work .

Just hours after the announcement, Olly revealed that it was still business as usual for his life as a pop star, as he confirmed he would still be supporting Take That at their Leeds show later that evening - something that had proved “horrible” as he had to leave behind his new little girl.

Olly Murs has got his plate full. Shortly after heading on tour around the UK supporting Take That , the singer announced his wife Amelia Murs had given birth to their first child, a daughter named Madison. 

The 'Dear Darlin' singer, 39, has been separated from his newborn, whose birth was announced last week, and in a new Instagram Story, Olly was seen making an emotional comment. 

The 'Heart Skips a Beat' singer was seen on stage holding a bunny stuffed animal close to his heart, looking touched having been gifted the toy by a fan. "Aww you guys. Madi will love it," penned Olly with pink love heart emojis. 

His bodybuilder wife Amelia has paid tribute to her husband as she looks after their daughter in his absence. Captioning a video of Olly on stage, the new mum wrote: "I've just been sat feeding our baby Madi and then we see this post. She doesn't even know she's got a super Daddy yet. We are both missing you very much but so proud of you @ollymurs."

When the 'Wrapped Up' singer took to the stage at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, Olly spoke for the first time aloud about his new bundle of joy.

"I'm going to try and not get emotional. Little Madison is doing really well," he shared. "She's at home with my lovely wife and it's a real honour to be here. I wasn't going to leave you guys hanging tonight, I'll rush home to see the baby."

Madison's birth was announced via an adorable Instagram post of the happy couple leaving the hospital with their little one. "Our mini murs has arrived. Madison we love you so much already x," the doting dad wrote.

The 'Troublemaker' hitmaker later shared a first look with his 4.7 million Instagram followers with Madison's feet are at the forefront of the photo. "Bless Madi I think she’s got her Dad's feet," Olly quipped.

The Murs announced they were expecting in an Instagram post in December after five months of marriage. Amelia was seen in a white crop top and jeans showing off her blossoming baby bump next to her husband who smiled and pointed holding up an ultrasound photo.

Amelia and Olly tied the knot last July in an Essex-based ceremony, covered exclusively by HELLO! The couple said 'I do' in a three-day extravaganza at Osea Island in the Blackwater Estuary. 

The fitness model wowed in three beautiful, and totally contrasting looks. Her first bridal look was a breathtaking slinky white number covered in appliqued flowers with a sheer lace low back. Olly opted for a dapper Joshua Kane suit with a cropped jacket. 

Her evening gown was an asymmetrical glittery number with a thigh-split by Zoe Jervoise at P.S. Bridal Rental. The next day, the couple put on MursFest - their own personal festival including funfair rides and a stage for performances from Olly himself, as well as R&B singer Craig David.

'It's been the most craziest time' Olly Murs feeling 'guilty' as a new dad

Olly Murs has opened up about the 'guilt' he feels being away from his partner and their newborn baby while on tour with Take That.

The 'Dance With Me Singer' welcomed his first child Madison with his wife Amelia Tank in April but he was forced to leave his little family just two days later to join the group on their tour.

During an emotional moment on stage, he confessed to how conflicted he was feeling to be away from them.

As he took to the stage at the London O2 Arena, he told fans: 'It's been the most craziest time... obviously on the one hand I've got this beautiful baby girl, my wife is at home looking after her with the nappies, and the sleepless nights.

'And, I'm on tour with Take That. I feel guilty!' he said in the clip posted by MailOnline. Olly continued: 'But this week I've been home, I've done the nappies, I've done the late nights... and I can't wait to stay on tour!

'I'm joking honestly, it's truly awesome. I never thought I'd be a dad so I can't quite believe it... but genuinely I'm super, super proud and to be on this tour has just topped it off, so what an amazing time for me.'

The 39-year-old later gave fans some insight into how wonderfully chaotic his life has become since becoming a dad in a series of pics of him living it up on stage with the last one showing him up to his ears in nappies.

'What Friday nights look like these days,' he teased.

Olly also couldn't resist sending himself up in an adorable clip of him singing to his little lady.

'All you do is cry. cry, cry, Madi I love your eyes, you are really sleepy right now... you're not the first person, when I start singing to fall asleep, ' he sang to her.

During a gig in Leeds, hours after he and Amelia welcomed Madison he confirmed that she is 'doing really well.'

'She's at home with my lovely wife and it's a real honour to be here. I wasn't going to leave you guys hanging tonight, I'll rush home to see the baby,' he told the crowd.

Olly Murs welcomes first baby with wife Amelia and reveals sweet name

Olly Murs has become a dad with his wife Amelia giving birth to their first baby, sweetly referring to the bundle of joy as their ‘mini Murs’.

The couple shared a picture of them walking out of the hospital together, hand in hand as Olly carried the baby basket.

Announcing the birth on Instagram, the Troublemaker hitmaker revealed that their newborn baby girl is named Madison but didn’t give any further details.

‘Our mini murs has arrived. Madison we love you so much already x,’ Olly wrote.

The couple tied the knot in July 2023 and Olly shared news of their pregnancy on Instagram to his 4.7million followers in December of last year.

‘Baby Murs due 2024,’ the couple captioned their announcement, which showed the former X Factor star pointing at his wife’s swelling belly with obvious enthusiasm. 

Olly, 39, shared updates on the couple’s preparation for the baby throughout the pregnancy, including an adorable video on the singer’s Instagram Story of the baby’s wardrobe, which was bursting with fashionable options. 

Amelia, 31, shared an emotional video that featured her husband finding out about the pregnancy as well as the couple telling their friends and family. 

The pair shared pictures and video from their lavish wedding ceremony in Essex last July. Tears streamed down the hitmaker’s face as he saw his bride for the first time, endearing him further to his already devoted fans.

The video, which he captioned: ‘Think this video says it all,’ also saw the newlyweds sharing a kiss, dancing at their crowded afterparty, and driving away in a beautiful vintage car.

Olly continued in his Instagram caption: ‘Thanks to everyone involved in our special weekend, a moment we’ll never forget.’

The Dear Darling singer, who got his start as a contestant on The X Factor, is soon hitting the road as the supporting act for Take That. The tour will take him across the country – luckily six of the shows will be local at London’s O2 Arena, allowing Olly to spend time with his new baby. 

Olly has also announced a string of summer shows including a set at Thetford Forest as part of Forest Live.

The popstar’s announcement came amid another significant change in the hitmaker’s life – he was recently axed by The Voice where he appeared as a coach since 2018.

Olly has won the show twice as a coach and admitted he was ‘gutted’ when he found out that the 2023 season would be his last. 

He told The Sun : ‘I don’t want to sit here like other artists might, and shine and gloss this up and say, “It was my decision.” I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to bulls**t my fans or bulls**t people who watch the show, and say, ‘Oh, it was an amicable decision to leave — I’ve got lots of things on next year, I can’t do it any more.’

Sharing his sadness about the decision he concluded: ‘I feel so proud of this show. When I started I never imagined I would be here for 6 or 7 years. I’m sad to be leaving but so happy to have been a part of the show.’

Many fans of the Heart Skips a Beat singer took to Twitter in the wake of the news to share their sadness.

‘It just won’t be the same without you next time! BIG HUGE mistake by them’, one person said.

‘So good to have you back ❤️ gutted it’s your last series’, another penned.

‘We’re gonna miss you on here but they’re going to REGRET IT ❤️’, added another sad fan.

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.
