About Kaleo

Kaleo is an Icelandic rock band that formed at Mosfellsbær in 2012. It consists of lead vocalist and guitarist JJ Julius Son (Jökull Júlíusson), drummer David Antonsson, bassist Daniel Kristjansson, and lead guitarist Rubin Pollock. They have released two studio albums, Kaleo (2013) and A/B (2016), as well as an EP, Glasshouse (2013).

Icelandic collective Kaleo will be heading back to North America in 2024 promoting their most recent album 'Surface Sounds' . The 8-date outing takes place in June making stops in Dillion, Morrison, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Forest Grove and Carnation. Joining the tour on select dates will be special guests Matt Maeson , Vincent Lima , Neal Francis and Reignwolf .

Kaleo released their third studio album 'Surface Sounds' on April 23rd, 2021 via Elektra Records. The new album follows up 2016's 'A/B' which reached a career-best #16 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The same year, the band launched The Handprint Tour across North America along with support from Bishop Briggs and The Wind + The Wave . The following year, their Kaleo Express Tour was joined by ZZ Ward . The Grammy-nominated group formed in 2012 and consists of members Jökull Júlíusson, Davíð Antonsson, Daníel Kristjánsson, Rubin Pollock and Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson.

Kaleo came on the Alternative scene with the release of the album 'True Hawaiian, Average Joe Music' published on September 10, 1994. The song 'Johnny Bad' immediately became a fan favorite and made Kaleo one of the newest emerging talents at that moment. Thereafter, Kaleo published the extremely beloved album 'All The Pretty Girls' which includes some of the most listened to tracks from the Kaleo collection. 'All The Pretty Girls' features the track 'All The Pretty Girls' which has proven to be the most requested for fans to hear during the gigs. Rolling Stones announce 2024 tour openers: Tyler Childers, KALEO, more

The Rolling Stones have decided who will “Start Them Up” on tour this year.

However, unlike most tours, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are mixing things up and bringing different opening acts to each city they’re hitting on the spring and summer ‘The Stones Tour ’24 Hackney Diamonds.’

Just a few of the big names joining them include Gary Clark Jr. (April 28 in Houston), Joe Bonamassa (May 15 in Seattle), Tyler Childers (June 3 in Orlando), KALEO (June 11 in Philadelphia) and Lainey Wilson (June 30 in Chicago).

As for their MetLife Stadium gigs, pop-soul outfit Lawrence is slated to kick things off at their Sunday, May 26 concert ; no opener has been announced for the Thursday, May 23 show .

And if you’ve been on the fence about catching Mick, Keith and Ronnie live because you fear exorbitant ticket prices, we’re happy to report that some shows have cheaper seats available than one might imagine.

On Oct. 20, the Stones released their 26th American studio album,  “Hackney Diamonds,”  featuring special guests Paul McCartney, Elton John, Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder.

Comprised of 12 hard-rocking tracks that wouldn’t be out of place alongside their singalong stadium anthems of yore, “Diamonds” shows that Mick, Keith and Ronnie still have their sticky fingers on rock and roll’s pulse.

“We wouldn’t have put this album out if we didn’t really like it,” Jagger, 80, told Jimmy Fallon. “We must say that we are quite pleased with it. We’re not big-headed but we hope you like it.”

This past Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, GRAMMY-nominated Icelandic rockers KALEO celebrated their 10th anniversary by delivering a stunning live performance in front of 250 of their biggest fans at the Archeological Park of the Colosseum, Rome, and in the shadow of the world-famous amphitheater. Today, they've shared video footage from the epic evening, watch!

Presented by VERTIGO LIVE, a leading producer of cinematic live experiences, the momentous night was captured on film and will be released as KALEO: Viva Roma in the Shadow of the Colosseum later this summer.

The documentary-concert film marks the third chapter of the Vertigo LIve series and was helmed by GRAMMY & EMMY nominated director Giorgio Testi. The film will feature a blend of concert performance and documentary footage, celebrating a decade of KALEO.

The Colosseum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where performances in and around the grounds are INCREDIBLY rare. KALEO now join the ranks of Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, The Cure, Elton John, and Paul McCartney as the only artists to have ever performed an electric concert in front of this iconic monument. The Rolling Stones announce support acts for 2024 ‘Hackney Diamonds’ US tour

The legendary band's tour is set to kick off Sunday (April 28)

The Rolling Stones have announced the support acts for their 2024 ‘ Hackney Diamonds ‘ US tour.

The legendary band are set to embark on a massive US tour next week (April 28). The tour will see Mick Jagger , Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood perform in 16 cities across North America and Canada.

To kick off the first night of the tour, Gary Clark Jr. will serve as the opening act in Houston this Sunday (April 28). From there, Ghost Hounds will open for the Stones in Atlanta on June 7, Cleveland on June 15 and lastly Vancouver on July 5. KALEO will open the Philadelphia date on June 11.

After The Rolling Stones’ Jazz Fest performance , they will be joined by both Electric Mud and Carin León in Glendale, Arizona.  The Pretty Reckless will join Jagger and co. in Las Vegas, while it will be Joe Bonamassa in Seattle. The band will close out the first month on road with Lawrence in East Rutherford at MetLife Stadium for the second show date, as well as The Red Clay Strays in Foxboro.

Additionally, Tyler Childers will open in Orlando, Widespread Panic in Denver, Bettye LaVette in Chicago for night one at Soldier Field and Lainey Wilson on night two. The Stones will close out the series of dates in California with The War and Treaty opening the first night in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium and The Linda Lindas on the second, followed by The Beaches in Santa Clara for the final stop.

From September through December, Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo are taking their popular “Giggly Squad” podcast on tour to auditoriums, performing arts centers, theaters, memorial halls and casinos all over the U.S. and Canada.

New Yorkers and New Jerseyans are in luck, too.

The laugh-a-minute ladies will bring the ‘Club Giggly Tour’ to Newark, NJ’s New Jersey Performing Arts Center for a pair of shows on Sunday, Oct. 20 and a one-off at Troy, NY’s Troy Savings Music Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

And even though the duo has toured before, they promise this time around won’t be the same as their last run of Giggly gigs.

“It’s definitely a brand new show,” DeSorbo told Cosmopolitan . “Still the same Giggler energy. We have so many more inside jokes with our listeners now and I feel like we know them even better now, so it will be even more personalized.”

If you’ve never heard their self-described “show about nothing” — based on the premise “What if we record our Facetime sessions to share with the world?” — Berner sums up what makes the ‘Giggly Squad’ stand out.

From May 2-12, 2024, the  Netflix is a Joke Festival is returning to Los Angeles for over 300 (!) shows spread out across 35 venues.

Just a few of the mega names on this year’s lineup include  Ali Wong , Chelsea Handler , Sarah Silverman , Beth Stelling , and Cat Cohen .
