I am planning to take a Eurpoe Tour Package from MakeMyTrip for 2014. Can anyone share their experince on the europe they did with MMT.

' class=

Overwhelmingly, the participants on this forum are independent travelers who do their homework and make their own travel arrangements which, in the overall, are far more economical than any package.

That does, however, come with much experience,so, sometimes, a package is preferable for those without experience in research and planning.

For information/reviews regarding MMP, try a search of this forum, or use Google.

Much depends on your priorities.

Do you wish to see as much as possible in as little time as possible?

Are you willing to pay a premium for an escorted tour versus planning on your own?

Have you added up the costs of the components of the tour independently and compared those to the cost of the tour. Is the extra worth the "extras"?

Regardless, you should post a link to the specific tour you are considering if you wish others to assist you in evaluating it.

I've noticed that a lot of these tours choose hotels far away from the city center. I think it's hard to get a feeling for a city when you're staying in a suburb or near the airport and have to commute to the destination every day.

Can you give us an idea of the length of this tour and what cities it covers?,

Is it one of these tour packages you are considering? : http://www.makemytrip.com/holidays/international/search?dest=Europe&selectedTabName=View%20All&sortOrder=ASC&intid=OBTTrending-01-Overall-Europe

"If it's Tuesday....."

Nothing wrong with first-timers doing a package, but bear in mind the comments about hotels. Good to ask for opinions, even if this is not really the right place.

Make my trip steals money

I would like to specifically mention 3 horrible customer service agents, make my trip is truly dissapointing and esentially steal money from people by giving you reward points youre stuck with and charging your card for those points. In particular supervisor Mr Tanmay has easily been the most rude person to speak to and acknowledges their mistake and does nothing for it. Along with taking over 24 hours just to follow up.

Made a hotel guesthouse booking for Dharamkot. Got to the Guesthouse and the manager advised me the booking did not exist. Contacteed the company via whatsapp and email no response. Complete scam. Where did my money go?

It’s a Malaysia’s poor hotel. Which is have no bathroom carpet. Not have a propper window screen. Etc. We are very disappointed. And MMT booking flight tickets which arriving in early morning. Bt the hotel check in time was 3 pm. And the customer was sit half a day in lobby.

DO NOT book anything with this company

DO NOT book anything with this company. I booked return flights and wants to make a change to dates and received absolutely ZERO communication from their customer service. The phone numbers do not work, and there is absolutely no email to communicate with them. Horrific experience and will never ever book anything with them again.

Very poor and misguided service while booking hotel on make my trip....Bad experience to me as while hotel booking on Mmt, Artificial intelligence directly booked my third class hotel with zero refund if cancelled. Boycott MMT....spread the awareness among customers and travellers.

Never use them

If I could give these liars 0 on the ratings I would. Organized a 3 way conversation on Friday between Emirates, MakeMyTrip and myself where Emirates confirmed they could make a ticketing change. 4 calls later and absolutely zero action from Makemytrip. Also to be informed that a further 24 hours minimum would be needed to make necessary changes. I’ve spent Hundreds chf calling and being placed on hold only to be hung up on. Problem never resolved ending with me loosing all money

Date of experience : 05 April 2024

It would be zero rating1

It would be zero rating, if I had a choice. After booking a ticket for my family, I requested for a date change owing to my daughter’s exam, paid the extra charges for date change + fare difference + MMT charges. A few minutes later, a mail comes: “prices have changed; please pay more”. Paid. Next day, another email comes: “prices have changed again; please pay more”. I contest. Then MMT goes silent. No updated ticket received; no responses to my emails except auto acknowledgments; no concern towards the anxiety. Total silence. The requested new date of travel (preponed from the original) arrives. Then the call comes: “your tickets were not changed”.

Date of experience : 08 April 2024

Worst service ever I faced

Worst service ever I faced. Though buying tickets regularly for years, my refund is pending for almost a year. I did follow up several times, neither action has been taken nor refund processed.

Zero Star company with no regards for customer.

Makemytrip.com is greedy, misleading and almost defrauding travellers. They have no regards for customers and make zero effort to put things right and try and ignore you and blame someone else for it. I would not get tempted by their offers(that looks good) but in reality are far from it.

customer service canceled…

Make my trip customer service canceled the wrong flight and then messed up the change fee I had paid. It took more than 20 calls to get the issue resolved.

They do not have actual knowledge of…

They do not have actual knowledge of what they are doing.. I asked them to plan Kerala trip. Without of knowledge of timming of sites, they added anything. In mountains travel time between 2 places is more. They don't actually understand that. They just put unpractical sites in your plan.. And they don't convey the itinerary to local driver. And when we informed the driver, we came to know he was not knowing the itinerary. Now it becomes a constant fight between our actual plan and pratical situation. If I have explain the plan to driver, the question is what is the work done by make my trip. Make my trip people does not have idea of local conditions, timming of site scene, duration of journey between 2 places.. And they are claiming to make the trip. How could I believe these people?? A trip planned 3 months back was 90% changed the last day.. After full payment.. It started showing ( 1 day before trip) that some 13000/- is pending. I had stress for 2 days before it was resolved.. They are ready to help but untrained and inexperienced staff can not help much.. They could not even inform the itinerary to the driver.. So when the tourist informs him.. There will be clashes and drama on the actual trip.. So beware.. Avoid make my trip.. If you don't want sudden shocks and fights

Poor Customer Service

Makemytrip App issue, due to this, the filter or date search appearing the initial one, not appearing new one. due to this booked hotel and noticed less than a min and not able to cancel. try to reach customer service. they said we will check, after an hour said not able to cancel. I have highlighted the App has issue, due to this we losing money after making the booking which non refundable. no alternative have to move with other app website, atleast the application works. The app has to be fixed and improve better, otherwise losing money like us.

no genuine intention to provide customer support/ service.

Problems faced 1. No customer service contact number on the actual website 2. The number on the google gave options regarding the booking but no option to speak to customer service team as my issue was regarding the error on the profile. I wasted one hour trying different numbers and only lead to frustration and wastage of time

Five star service from makemytrip

We planned our 5 days trip for my elderly parents to banglore/coorg & mysore. Our travel agent priyanka loyal was helpful from the beginning to smooth our experience as this was our first time booking. Priyank kept me guided throughout payment process & informed about driver detail near the time

Save yourself from the trouble and look elsewhere for reliable and honest service providers.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with MakeMyTrip's customer service that I feel compelled to share. Their unprofessional behavior and deceptive practices left me feeling cheated and frustrated. Not only did MakeMyTrip fail to disclose hidden charges, but they also charged me rates higher than what was advertised by the airlines themselves. It's evident that they prioritize their profit margins over customer satisfaction, making a mockery of transparency and integrity. I strongly advise against using MakeMyTrip for any travel services. They are nothing but hidden thieves preying on unsuspecting customers. Save yourself from the trouble and look elsewhere for reliable and honest service providers.

Reliable long distance taxi booking app.

I booked 2 long distance taxi rides (300km+) at short notice with MMT through the MMT app after Booking.com screwed up. On both occasions, the cabs were clean with functioning seat belts in front & rear. The drivers were courteous and not wreckless. They arrived well before the allotted pick up time and contacted me directly to confirm pick up details ensuring that we were not left hanging. They stoped for refreshments and toilet stops without having to be asked. The fares were reasonable and I could pay with a UK credit card via the app. The app is user friendly and pricing is transparent. MMT is now my go to app for long distance taxi bookings in India.

Mixed experience

I pre booked a taxi in Kerala. The customer service WhatsApp chat was very unhelpful when I had a problem. They told me to use the website to modify my booking but when I was unable to do it through this, I responded again on WhatsApp and they ignored me (despite being online). When I arrived at the station to get my taxi, somebody called me but spoke no English at all. I couldn’t even be sure it was my driver. It took 45 minutes for me to find the driver because we were unable to communicate. The only saving grace was that when I was finally able to speak to customer service on the phone, they spoke good English and managed to help me find the driver by translating on the phone. I have given 3 stars for this reason, and because eventually I did reach my destination. However, I would probably not use this service again or recommend it as it was a stressful experience.

Ultimately, I wound up with a tour company boasting a great reputation. This was my first time travelling with Insight Vacations — a guided tour company founded in 1978. The company offers trips in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and North Africa. I’m writing this at the airport on my way home back to Toronto because it was so wonderful. I want my current feelings to come through in this review.

I’ve travelled through Europe several times, mostly on my own, but once with the guided tour company Contiki , coincidentally a sister brand of Insight Vacations. Contiki focuses on travel for those aged 18-35 (read a review of our Contiki experience ). I happened to go on a Contiki tour when I was 18 and I’m now 35. Insight Vacations tours are open to all age groups but age is certainly a factor to consider when booking with a tour group.

Through my eight-day experience of the Christmas Markets of Croatia, Slovenia & Austria tour (which stopped in key Christmas market destinations, but was more about local exploration), I’ll discuss all the major factors to consider when determining if Insight Vacations is right for you. I go over the experiences, tour guide, tour group, accommodations, transportation, food, value, recommendation and tips while addressing the questions above.

For context, I love to travel solo and appreciate guided tours as well. However, I like flexibility in travel and experiencing local flavours, not just the tourist sights. Insight Vacations was perfect for me because there was structure, so I knew I’d do a lot with zero planning, but it also allowed the flexibility to explore on my own, which I value. Before diving into the review, here’s a high-level summary of who should and shouldn’t go on an Insight Vacations trip.

What: Insight Vacations European tour . Includes: local transportation accommodations, tour director, some meals and some experiences. Flights not included. Price: Huge range, starting from $3,000+ Where to book: Insight Vacations

Who SHOULD go on an Insight Vacations trip?

  • People who love to travel
  • Friends, solo travellers, couples, families (not those with small children)
  • People who appreciate pre-arranged travel (and some flexibility)
  • People who like nice hotels, good food, luggage porter service, personalized local sightseeing suggestions, meeting like-minded travellers and overall ease and convenience

Who SHOULDN’T go on an Insight Vacations trip?

  • People who hate early mornings (we often met for experiences at 8 AM and breakfast was before that)
  • People who don’t like travelling on a coach bus between cities
  • People who prefer completely structure-free travel
  • People who are looking to meet and party with other young people (that’s Contiki )
  • People with certain accessibility concerns: Motorized scooters are not permitted — learn more about Insight’s accessibility

My experience

Wow. I feel so lucky to have just experienced an Insight Vacations European tour, especially the Christmas markets tour that visited Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Austria. I arrived in Zagreb, Croatia, the day the tour started — first mistake. If you’re heading to a destination in a different time zone, I suggest arriving at least a day or two before your Insight tour to adjust. A couple of days of exhaustion aside, the entire trip was incredible. I loved the convenience and flexibility baked into the tour.

Experiences

On each trip’s itinerary, you can see included and optional experiences. “Included” means the cost of the experience is included in the overall tour fee (tips aside) and “optional” experiences cost extra. I participated in all included experiences and opted for one that was optional.

Included experiences: There were more than enough included experiences. On my tour, these included walking tours (with local tour guides), sightseeing and meals. All the tours were led by local guides who were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They showed us around their city while answering questions and providing local recommendations. Most of the walking tours were one to two hours and were followed by “free time” (when you can explore on your own — both the local guides and trip guide can offer suggestions). I love to explore, hike and see theatre, and all the guides were able to point me in the right direction ( much better results than Google).

Optional experiences: There were four optional experiences on my eight-day trip. These included a few day trips to interesting nearby locations, a concert and an additional walking tour. I joined an optional experience at Lake Bled, Slovenia, a beautiful mountainous town and the only island in the country. The experience cost around $100 and was totally worth it. It included transportation, a local guide, a boat ride to the island, entrance to the church, dessert and a beverage. Your tour director takes your payment and accepts cash or card. I opted out of the other experiences to give me more time to explore — this is where the flexibility comes in. For those who opted into all optional experiences, it cost around $400-$500.

Your Insight Vacation is led by a tour director who is with you for the entirety of the trip. Our tour director was extremely knowledgeable, organized and personable. She’s been with Insight Vacations for 12 years and told me that my Contiki tour director is still with the company — some seriously strong employee retention.

Our tour director got to know each person on the trip to ensure everyone’s needs and preferences were considered. She did a magnificent amount of work to ensure that everything went smoothly. There were 29 people on our trip with 29 individual needs — everyone was thrilled. Our tour director anchored the trip and was a major part of the value of booking with Insight.

The age range on the trip seemed to start around 22 and went all the way up to 80+, however, the travellers in their 20s were with their parents. There were a few people in their 30s, more in their 40s, 50s, 60s and some older.

Nationality-wise, there were people from North America, South America, Asia and Africa. There were a few groups of friends, some couples, families and eight solo travellers. Everyone was s welcoming, interesting and fun. This is another benefit of travelling with a group — though there are many ways to meet people whilst travelling, this tour comes with built-in friends.

Accommodations

We stayed at a few Marriotts and a Hilton — all accommodations were perfect. They were clean, in central locations, packed with facilities (including gyms) and offered delicious (and included) breakfasts. All of your checked luggage is portered to and from the bus and your hotel room.

Transportation

Local travel is on a chartered coach driven by a talented bus driver who can maneuver the smallest and oldest of streets. The bus has Wi-Fi (though the bandwidth is limited) and a place to charge electronics. We were given a seating chart that changed every day, so everyone had a chance to sit in different areas of the bus. I found this strange as I don’t care where I sit, but I guess some people do.

In eight days, we visited four countries, five cities and additional towns. Some days we drove for a few hours and other days we didn’t drive at all. The drives proved to be respites, time where I could rest, recharge and even work a bit. The drives between the stops were beautiful, filled with mountains, fields and interesting rural areas.

The tour director also used the drives between destinations to discuss the day’s plan, address questions, share local history, check in with everyone and even provide treats. I was excited for our drives, so I could just sit and relax (my need to explore racks up steps) — on average, I took 20,000 steps each day. This is just me though, it’s up to you how much you want to walk. I heard many people who averaged 10,000 steps a day.

Just like the experiences, some meals are included and others cost extra.

Included: All breakfasts were included and offered at the hotels. The breakfasts were elaborate buffets and included options of fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, cheeses, meats, eggs, pancakes, yogurts, pastries, juices, coffee, tea and more. I ate a lot of breakfast, grabbed a (non-included) snack during the day and hunkered down for dinner, some of which were included.

On our tour, there were three included dinners, all delicious. The restaurants were in interesting locations and included at least three courses and two drinks. The meals were accommodating to dietary needs and preferences including vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free. We also went on a walking food tour that accommodated everyone.

Extra: All lunches and the remaining dinners were on our own. It’s totally up to you how you want to eat during these meals. I prioritize exploration and activities and don’t like to spend time sitting at a restaurant to eat a meal. So outside of included meals, I ate on the go or on the bus. However, the local tour guides and the tour director offer recommendations on where and what to eat.

The Insight Vacations tour was great value. This specific tour cost around $3,500 and included accommodations, coach transportation, a tour director, tour guides, experiences, meals and new friends. If I were to book accommodations alone, it would cost me at least $2,000. The local travel would cost at least $800 (if you’re renting a car, taking trains, buses or Ubers). The included meals and experiences would easily make up the rest of the cost of the trip — and some. This doesn’t include the tour director, the expertly planned trip, the build-in friends and more. The entire trip was pure quality and well-priced.

Recommendation

I would recommend an Insight Vacation to my friends and family. Well, some friends. Some of my friends would not enjoy the early mornings or structured travel. It’s also not great for families who wish to travel with small children. Also, perhaps not to people who require unique accommodations that Insight can’t provide. Aside from those groups, I highly recommend booking an Insight Vacations trip to Europe (though I’ve only been on one Insight tour, my Contiki tour was also in Europe and the overall experience was similar — I assume there are similarities among all Insight tours, but cannot speak to them…yet). I’m so thankful to have joined this trip, it was a memory-maker and will be stored in the memory-saver.

What: Insight Vacations European tour Price: Huge range, starting from $3,000+ Where to book: Insight Vacations

  • Bring local currency for tips and vendors that only accept cash
  • Bring a converter to charge electronics (forgot this and ended up buying an overpriced one at the airport)
  • Bring a power bank — like many, my phone is my search engine, GPS, camera, wallet, communicator, flashlight and so much more — the battery goes quickly
  • Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes . My trip was from Dec. 7 – Dec. 14 and required lots of layers, a winter jacket and a set of boots. There’s a lot of walking, so leave your blister-makers at home and pack only comfy shoes
  • Bring dental floss , especially if you’re going to similar countries as me — aside from general oral hygiene, there are lots of pastries with lots of poppy seeds
  • Under-pack — leave room in your luggage to bring back goodies
  • Bring your preferred medication — there were a few people who experienced heartburn and other ailments. Though there will likely be pharmacies along the route, it’s no fun to try new types of medication while travelling
  • Take lots of photos, eat lots of food and enjoy a stress-free trip that’s fully planned

Middle School Field Trip

Bamboozled. I want half of my money back. Had the maturity level and professionalism of a middle school field trip. Over hyped, over sold, and overcharged. You do not get your money's worth. Never using Expat again and they absolutely ruined bus/group tours for me. I was just more lucky the bus was not full. Full bus would have been an immediate no and dispute. First, they are overcharging. Did my homework on that one. Most of the hotels are absolutely the low end. One, I actually had a shower flood the room, and Expat attempted to ignore the complaint. Once they have your money and you are on the bus, the professionalism and response goes right in the gutter. One hotel, the entire bathroom was literally in a clothing closet. What is worse, is the tour guide will try to repeatedly sell you on low quality is normal, using the old "you are lucky to be here." Which was extremely unprofessional. A lot of European Apologist was used and guilt tripping for the high charging and low delivery. They really need to break trips into age groups, because we had serious maturity issues. Age 30 and below and 30 and above. They may need to do 40 and above. They try to force you to use What's App and Facebook for information, which was very unprofessional as some of us do not like those apps, citing privacy issues. Many of the meals are forced social gatherings (due to logistics and planning) and if you don't really like the people or have nothing in common with them, it's not good and really awkward. At day 6, I was already singing Sloop John B. Some of the "exciting" events they take you to are quick and cheap setups just to buy from their personal friends. They spent way too much time in Italy, when someone like my self wanted to take time to see other things. But they don't tell you the timing and planning ahead of time, so you don't know. Whoever made the plan was obsessed with Italy. Not exactly Expat's fault, but Western Europe is way behind and fairly boring. It's just a giant tourist trap. Pro Tips: You can pay less and see the same using a cruise, while travelling in way more comfort with more options and more things you decide on. Obviously you can't go more inland like a bus, but you are not missing anything. If you want to go inland it is cheaper and you get more options with a rail pass, again, comfort will be better and you will not be stuck with professionalism and maturity issues and you won't be stuck or subject to people you don't really like. Skip Expat and bus/group tours. Use a cruise or European rail pass. ::Edit:: To reply below, very funny. Absolutely no acknowledgement of the failures and placing the blame on the customer. Hmmm, sounds familiar. If you fail, just blame the customer! Exactly what was going on during the trip. And as you see, they proved my review correct. Hype high, deliver low. Then blame the customer. Thanks for proving me correct, Expat. And no, Expat, I did my homework, you are overcharging. Hyping high, delivering low, to maximize profit and the customer does not matter. Has nothing to do with value for the customer.

Reply from Expat Explore Travel

We are sincerely sorry to hear about your disappointing experience during your recent tour with us. It deeply saddens us to learn that we did not meet your expectations. One of our pride points is that our tours are affordable, and as such, all our tours are jam-packed and fast-paced in order to allow the most experiences for your money. We are open about the fact that we book 2-4* hotels further from the city centre but always close to public transport so we can keep our prices low and pass this saving on to our travellers. While we understand that this is not for everybody, we want all of our travellers to experience all Europe has to offer at an affordable rate. When booking a coach tour with Expat Explore, it is important to understand that you are booking a group coach tour. This means that you will be in a group with people of all different ages, nationalities, and personalities and will be sharing meals and experiences together. This is a part of the group travel dynamic that most travellers cherish as it is an opportunity to learn from strangers and make new friends. We understand that every traveller has different preferences and needs, and we regret that we were unable to meet yours on this occasion. While we value your feedback and will use it constructively to enhance our services in the future, it seems that your preferred mode of travel does not really align with group coach travel and our brand. If there's anything else you would like to discuss or if you have any further feedback to share, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Unforgettable Experience

Our classic Europe tour was spectacular. The tour leader and driver went above and beyond to make sure that we would be able to see all the famous tourist spots and experience the different cuisine in each country. The optional excursions were also woth it. Gustavo and Lucas made sure that we were safe and happy. I can't thank them enough for making our trip so memorable.

We loved our Europe Taster tour with…

We loved our Europe Taster tour with Expat. We took along adult children and teen age grandchildren. The pace of the tour was perfect for young people. We saw so many beautiful places and had so many wonderful experiences. Six countries, wonderful introduction to western Europe and truly encouraging for future travel. Our tour director, Gustavo, and our tour drive Bogdan were the very best, always thoughtful and informative and fun!

Spent 10 AMAZING days with EXPAT Explore Travel

Spent 10 AMAZING days with Gustavo on the European Highlights Tour - All the details were taken care of ... we were sooo well taken care of ... Our group was a fantastic mix of Americans, Canadians, Australians and everyone else in between. The accommodations were excellent, the meals were great but without a doubt it was our guide Gustavo who made the trip INCREDIBLE ... Hopefully we will get a chance to tour with EXPAT and Gustavo again ..

We have used Expat Explore for a number of tours. Taste of Europe with Expat Explore 2022

Taste of Europe with Expat Explore 2022 Our journey with EXPAT Explore on their Europe Taster trip during the summer of 2022 was a memorable experience. This tour allowed us to delve into six different countries, each presenting its unique charm fitting the ‘taster’ theme of the trip. Our tour guide, Gustavo, was a notable aspect of our experience. His knowledge and enthusiasm added a great deal of value to our trip. The trip was well organized featuring a mix of iconic landmarks. The choice of destinations and activities provided a glimpse into each country, ideal for those experiencing these European regions for the first time. One aspect of the trip that could be improved is the long ferry ride across the English Channel from UK to France. Although it was an interesting experience, the time spent on the ferry felt somewhat prolonged, taking up a considerable portion of the day. The Europe Taster trip with EXPAT Explore was an enjoyable experience. I would certainly recommend it to anyone eager to explore Europe for the first time.

Expat Explore Italy Rail Tour 10/10!

For our second trip with Expat Explore, we booked the Italy Rail tour and let me tell you, rail is the way to travel! The itinerary is jam packed, you are constantly on the move on foot and on and off both public transit and regional trains. You need to be prepared to move and lift your luggage (pack light!) but we quickly bonded with our fellow travelers and everyone helped everyone. The first day was a whirlwind, flying in and diving right into a walking tour on the same day, so next time we will be sure to fly in one day early. Hotels were good - some are a little dated, but you aren't there to hang out in the hotel. 10/10 recommend Expat 10/10 recommend the rail tours 10/10 loved our tour leader, Firo

Great tours, great company!

So far I've joined their tours in Egypt and South Africa, both were fantastic tours complimented by great team work between professional tour leaders and drivers. In terms of the pre tour experience the customer service team were always quick to respond and made me feel like a valued passenger.

Italian Delight 10/10 - June 2022

The tour was amazing, and we saw so many beautiful places. The optional excursions were all great. Firo was an awesome tour leader, and he made everything so much fun and shared all his knowledge. And the fact that he can speak Italian was great. Always felt safe on the coach, which was comfy and Firo even organised wifi for the coach. The tour details as advertised is exactly what you get and the hotels were all great. Some had small rooms, but all you need is a bed and bathroom to rest. The tours are affordable and well organised. Doing my 3rd tour now in October - Taste of Eastern Europe. Will be great of Firo will be our tour leader again. Mr Cool 🍌.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for rating us 5-stars! We're so happy to hear that Firo took excellent care of you and that you had an amazing time. We hope that we will see you on another Expat Explore adventure in the near future.

Incredible Countries in Croatia and Eastern Countries…

I really enjoyed our Tour with Expat Explore. Our Tour Leader , Dee our Driver, Gabor and our coach, the other travellers and the places we visited were suberb. Most of the hotels were pretty good except for Bento Inn Messe ( too far to train stn, airport, no a/c, nothing around such as cafes, shops etc), Some of the days were just far too long whilst the Tour Town Guides were lovely and passionate about their history they went for too long and did not leave time to browse. Mostar was ridiculously busy and then left not much time for Sarejevo to brose and they looked incredible. Before I could recommend it to others I would have to know if they liked such a fast paced tour

Best trips of our lives! Classic Europe and Best of UK & Ireland

We’ve done 2 tours with Expat. Our 1st one was Classic Europe to 7 counties in 12 days. We had a group of 8 with ages between 21 and 70. Our tour guide Luke was the best! He made sure we learned a few phrases for each Country and gave us safety tips for each area, It was a trip that our family will cherish forever! Luke was super funny and had facts/trivia about almost every topic. I recommend doing a majority of the excursions too. They are worth it! Our 2nd excursion was just my hubby and I to Best Of UK & Ireland. We had a blast and decided to go on this trip because Luke was the tour guide again. Another spectacular trip! We will do another trip probably next year w Expat!

Thank you for leaving us a 5-star review and for being a loyal returning traveler! We are overjoyed to hear that Luke provided enriching and informative tour experiences. We are also delighted to know that you will continue to explore the world with Expat Explore as your preferred partner to make travel possible.

A definite taster - Europe Highlights

Overall Itinerary - a definite taster, spending only a few hours in some of the locations.; Accommodation - mostly great; Meals - a surprise treat, many of the places we went to are inclusive of dinner meals; Optional Excursions - heavy on the pocket but an experience one must take; Tour Leader - an absolute star, Firo! A great companion indeed; Driver - the best, Florentin!; Included experiences (like walking tours) - not for the slow-walkers; Pre-tour Customer Service - punctual.

Whilst internal flights are covered for certain itineraries, you will have to make your way to the meeting point for the start of your tour. When booking flights be mindful of departure times and possible delays. Tip: We suggest that you start comparing prices the moment your deposit is paid to avoid costly flights.

We have a set minimum age of 10 for our tours, but we're happy to consider younger children on a case-by-case basis. Just let us know your request, and we'll do our best to accommodate it. Expat Explore reserves the right to accept or decline the request at our discretion. We want to ensure everyone has a great time exploring with us!

We make every effort to include local cuisine on our tours to ensure an authentic experience for you. You'll receive an email before the tour begins, where we'll ask for your dietary preferences. We always have a vegetarian option, and we'll work hard to accommodate any other dietary needs or preferences you may have.

Contactless payment is widely accepted across Europe – it’s best to bring a payment card with no overseas withdrawal fees. * Keep in mind that certain optionals are payable in cash to your tour leader whilst on tour. We suggest that you talk to your Tour Leader about when & where to draw cash to pay for the optional excursions.

While Expat Explore cannot assist with booking pre or post-tour accommodation, we recommend Booking.com for affordable accommodation options prior to and after the tour. If hotel information is available, we can provide you with the details in advance so that you can book accommodation at or nearby the start hotel. Please request this by sending a message through on the conversation page.

While Expat Explore endeavours to stay current on all major entry requirements, we are not a registered visa agent. We are, however, able to make things a little easier by providing you with the required supporting documents for a visa application once your tour is paid in full. It is a requirement of the embassies that tours are paid for in full before visa support documentation is requested and applications are made. When you have made the final payment for your booking, simply reach out to our Customer Support Team to request your visa support documents and confirm which embassy you will be applying to.

This is up to you and will vary depending on how much you wish to spend on snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc. We do not include entrance fees to attractions and museums. We do, however, provide you with free time to see everything you want, and our tour leaders will have all the information on pricing and locations so you can manage your own budget. Please refer to your tour-specific pre-departure information and optional excursions guide for further details.

It's your responsibility to arrange sufficient travel insurance for your trip. When you travel with Expat Explore, both you and your personal belongings do so at your own risk. A comprehensive insurance policy should cover medical expenses for illness or accidents before or during the holiday, as well as reimbursement for lost holiday funds due to cancellation, curtailment, or other insurable events. Make sure there are no exclusions that would limit coverage for the activities included in your tour. We generally recommend WorldNomads because they cover a wide variety of nationalities, but you are welcome to use any supplier that offers you the most comprehensive plan. You are able to obtain travel insurance through one of TourRadars partners, XCover. Please reach out to receive a quote.

We embrace travelers of all ages and backgrounds, prioritizing attitude and mindset over age restrictions. However, our tours are fast-paced and jam-packed with experiences. Regrettably, individuals with mobility limitations or those using wheelchairs may find this tour challenging. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring quaint towns and navigating cobblestone streets. We want every traveler to fully enjoy their journey, so we encourage reviewing the itinerary carefully before making your booking decision.

When you book for more than one person, we will by default group you together in the same room(s), unless you request single supplements or specifically request us not to. If there are unequal numbers (3, 5, 7 etc.) then the remaining traveller will be roomed with another passenger of the same gender, unless you opt to add a single supplement (subject to availability) to your booking. Please note that minors under the age of 18 cannot share with another traveller outside of your group's booking. If you are making separate bookings and would like to share the same room(s), please send us an email with the booking references for each of the travellers and the details of your preferred rooming allocation.

We had never used a travel agency before, but I am so glad we booked this tour with to-europe.com! Every step on the trip was planned and arranged for us and that was amazing. However, there were also two rail strikes during our tour, but we were provided alternatives seamlessly. The timely attention was so helpful, especially the one time we exited the train at the wrong station. The to-europe.com team had us rerouted in minutes! We really each hotel and city, and have some great memories. We will definitely book our next European vacation with to-europe.com.
I cannot fault this company at all. Perfect attention to detail. Everything went like clockwork. Any questions I had were promptly answered, documents resent without question and advice provided. The choice of accommodation was varied and the inclusion of the two tours provided an interesting insight into the von Trapp family singers and the German Alps.
Working with to-europe and their experts we crafted a customized Christmas Market Tour this past December to - Prague, Salzburg, Vienna and Budapest. To-europe did an outstanding job of taking my ideas for this tour and making them a reality - from accommodations with breakfast, to site-seeing, a combinations of walking, public transportation and train travel. We would definitely book with to-europe again. Thank You!
Thanks for all your time and effort used to put together a splendid tour for us. It was plain sailing as everything was perfectly arranged and planned. We had no problems to travel from city to city by train and to reach the hotel from the station. The hotels were all within walking distance of the train stations and if not, a taxi's was arranged. Also our return from Strasbourg to Frankfurt Airport was well planned and we reached the airport on time. We loved the four star hotels that you chose for us. We can recommend To-Europe for your next visit to Europe. You have customised our tour perfectly. You were always immediately available to answer and assist with any questions and uncertainties we had. We look forward to use your services again to book our next trip. Thanks to Christian, Thomas and Woldemar at To-Europe for making our Christmas Markets trip so memorable.
A long overdue huge Thank You to Thomas and the entire staff at To-Europe for a marvelous Christmas Marketplaces tour. From the first time I contacted them to obtain information about the trip to my last email upon my return they were always wonderful to work with, very responsive and on top of those little unexpected things that could have become problems. Like snowstorms and train strikes. It was truly one of my best trips ever. And I would without a doubt use them for any future trips. And I recommend them to everyone I tell about the trip. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.
Where to start...this 10-day Christmas Market rail trip was densely packed with beautiful sights and wonderful experiences, The hotels were well-chosen, convenient to the train stations and extremely comfortable. The GHotel in Wurzburg lacked the charm of the others and appears to be aimed at business travelers, but like the others it was convenient and well-run. (The very old and beautiful hotel in Rothenberg more than compensated.) It's a bit of a whirlwind - it was a joy to have an extra day in Prague and Berlin. Every single to-Europe.com team member we dealt with during the planning process was friendly and gracious. We made several changes and they were dealt with promptly and with good humor. Communication and documents are all provided with great efficiency. I'm very comfortable recommending, and wouldn't hesitate to plan a future trip with this company.
We took the nine day Christmas rail tour. We loved every minute of it. Our accommodations were quaint with excellent treatment by hotel staff. Everyone was so helpful. We booked first class tickets on the trains which I highly recommend. We always had a seat and the trains were quiet. Thank you to the To-Europe staff for arranging a magical trip. You’ve got this down to a science so that your customers have the times of their lives.
My Sister & I took the 10 day tour & loved it. Next time - smaller suitcase as it was a sometimes difficult dragging them onto the trains. Sometimes the directions to the hotels were hard to understand, but we got there. We added so many extras to our trip & Thomas & his team were very helpful,,thank you all. It was a very special trip for us & something we will never forget.
My wife and took this ten day Christkindlmarkt tour with our son, his wife, and children ages 12,10 and 3.. The arrangements made by Thomas and his team for accommodations transportation, and special events were precise, faultless and easy to follow. and additional information provided for each stop was invaluable. The Christkindlmarkts in each location were magical and unique.. It was a tour that was totally enjoyed by all ages, from 3 to 70 years old. The only change we would make should we do something like this again is increasing the number of days spent in each location. Thank you Thomas and team for helping us create some wonderful memories. Rolf Schneider
We're just back from our Germany and Austria Christmas market tour. Exhausted, but full of great memories. To-Europe's choice of cities and hotels for this tour was excellent. When planning the tour we requested a few tweaks (adding a two nights) and To-Europe was very flexible and worked with us on these changes. During planning and while on the trip, To-Europe was always very responsive to any email questions that I sent.
These folks are top-notch, helping us from the start to plan a custom itinerary for a Christmas Market tour in December. Our trip began with a major problem as a large snowstorm basically shut down all trains and planes in Munich. Not to worry, Thomas and his team worked diligently to rearrange our itinerary, checked in on us repeatedly to make sure things were going as well as can be expected. Their professionalism turned what could have been a disappointing trip into something we will remember.
First, the good stuff: Thomas and his team were incredible getting us from city to city. All of the arrangements were accurate and well managed. A 24 hour train strike happened on the day we landed in Frankfurt, and Thomas rented a car service to get us to our destination the next day. Amazing. Now the not so good stuff: Because to the proximity to. the train stations (very convenient) several of the hotels were in pretty rough neighborhoods. Nothing happened to us, but we felt unsafe walking back to hotel at 9 or 10 pm (we are 63 and 64 year old sisters). We found some the markets to be overly crowded (not Thomas' fault). This was my third time visiting the markets, and I don't remember it being this crowded. I would suggest trying to go to smaller, more out of the way cities. Nuremberg and Munich were especially crowded. I do admit that 10 days of dragging bags on and off of trains was a bit much, and would suggest trying to spend two days per city, instead of moving every day like we did. I also found that the markets don't have the variety of goods that I remembered. They were not as unique as they used to be. Also would recommend upgrading to first class train. Much more roomy and comfortable.
We recently returned from a 8 day personalized Christmas market tour and it was everything that we had hoped for and more. Our planning began last February. We wanted to take 2 adult children and their partners . We had specific places we wanted to go. We spent 2 days in Heidelberg, 1 night in Stuttgart, 3 nights in Munich with a day trip to Nürnberg, 2 nights in Garmisch and 1 final night in Munich. All of that accommodations were first class. But Heidelberg and Garmisch were by far our favorite. We originally planned to just go to markets, but with all of the included entries to so many sights , our group had opportunities to go different directions to explore. Thomas provided all the information we needed for to get around each location. Communicating with Thomas was superb. He was always very prompt in responding to emails. The train travel went smoothly as well. We were given several options for departures. My husband and I have done a couple of River cruises, which I do enjoy. But I think I would prefer to see Europe by rail from now on. I like being able to see things at our own pace and integrate more into the culture rather than be isolated on a boat. Don’t get me wrong, river cruises are nice, but you get more bang for your buck traveling by rail. Self paced touring is much more relaxing. I would love to travel in the spring when I can pack a little lighter. But honestly, with a good roller bag, there really weren’t any significant obstacles. I can’t wait to start planning another trip.
This was our third trip using To-Europe to see German Christmas Markets. Hotel accommodations were excellent and always a short distance from the train stations. In Dresden there was a Christmas market right out the front door of our hotel! They were very responsive to several questions I had prior to our trip that made things very easy. Strongly recommend them if you’re planning a trip to see the Christmas markets in Germany!
My wife, myself, our younger son and his girlfriend took the 9 day Germany/Austria Christmas Markets rail tour. We extended the first stop in Nuremberg to 2 days to allow for a little jet lag recovery. We opted for the first class rail tickets and marveled at the smooth, quiet ride and the service.. The only issue we had was missing the Mannheim-to-Heidelberg transfer due to the Salzburg-to-Mannheim train being late but no problem to catch the next train a half our later. The hotels were all 5 to 10 minute walks from the train station (except Heidelberg which needed a taxi but voucher was included). Hotel rooms were fine, breakfasts were fantastic! Christmas markets were lots of fun, many other people thought so too because some (especially Salzburg) were packed! Our family had done a Christmas Markets tour by car several years ago and there was a lot of stress involved driving in a foreign country in the winter to new cities with byzantine street patterns - The To-Europe tour package made the whole experience a total pleasure!
We customized this tour right from the beginning starting and ending in Munich instead of the prescribed Frankfurt with our request being easily and professionally accommodated. The tour was everything we wanted. The flexibility of a train journey between our destinations and no guide required. Due to a strike of the train drivers one of our journey's was cancelled (fortunately a short one) and I communicated with the agency about the issue the day before with an immediate response and solutions provided. We wound up getting a private taxi arranged to take us to our next destination at no additional cost with first class communication from the company. The accommodation was excellent and the breakfasts were all very nice also. Plus the additional vouchers included in certain locations like a Night Watchman Tour and the Hop on Hop Off bus were well thought out and very much taken advantage of. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to book with this company again and take advantage of the tour without needing a guide and the pleasure of the space in a train.
I enjoyed a great trip with family and friends with our tour organized by To-Europe. We saw fantastic Christmas Markets, Museums, Castles, Cities and more. They helped us in unforseen problems of snow storms, train strikes, and any questions that we had. What could have been a disaster, in any of those situations, was easily avoided and taken care of to our liking. I have recommended them to my friends who are also interested in visiting Europe.
Kristen & I just returned from a 9-day Germany/Austria Christmas Markets tour by rail. We’re ready to go again! I can’t write enough great things about our tour group, To-Europe. The To-Europe team is the best we’ve experienced in all of our International travels. It felt like we had our own private concierge before and during the trip. They were communicative, responsive & proactive (Thomas navigated us around a one day German rail strike). All hotels were lovely-at least 4⭐️. Instructions and directions for all rail, hotels and excursions were clearly communicated and easy to follow. And traveling between cities via rail was such a luxurious and scenic experience for us Americans. Of note-onboard wireless access via the ICE app on DB was excellent. Also, be sure to bring great Walking Shoes! Kristen and I averaged 10.5k steps per day!! Lastly, I highly recommend the City Mapper app. Best LOCAL Transportation Guide Ever. Routes and step by step guidance for all modes of travel: walk, taxi, bus, subway, light rail. CM Has it all!! Back to the To Europe crew: Thank you, thank you for arranging and executing such a wonderful experience! We’ll be back to travel with you again! With Warm Regards, Rick & Kristen
Great company! We went on a 10 day European Christmas Market train tour and had a blast. We felt very safe and taken care of if we had an issue or a question. The hotels were very well organized and selected close to the train stations and cities. Our train from Dresden to Prague was canceled due to strikes and the company proactively rebooked us on an alternative mode of transport and everything went smoothly. The customer service team were very responsive, kind, knowledgeable and thorough every step of the way. Highly recommend!
This was our first trip to Europe and it couldn’t have been more exciting. The Christmas Markets were so much fun. When we got hit with a snowstorm and all transportation was stopped, Thomas came to the rescue with a new hotel which was just as lovely as the rest. Unfortunately due to the snow we were unable to get to Salzburg or Innsbruck but that did not dampen our spirits at all…….it simply means we need to go back! Do not hesitate using this tour company as they are top notch all the way!
I started planning a Christmas Market rail tour in March of 2023 for my 80 year old mom, my sister, daughter and best friend. It was a lot to take on and I could not have planned a succesful trip without the help of To-Europe! They put us up in the greatest hotels and provided all the documentation we needed in an organized and very detailed fashion. They responded each question with politeness and punctuality. We added four days on to our trip at the last minute and they were able to quickly plan our transportation and accommodations even though it was not on the normal tour they offer. When we arrived in Germany and asked questions they were quick to answer once again and even proactively called us when there was a train strike to help pivot our plans. We also arrived in Munich the day after a large snowstorm where many travelers were getting stuck on trains overnight. Because of their quick thinking and advise we did not have to endure any setbacks. I would happily use To-Europe again and would highly recommend them to family and friends.
Our customized Christmas Market tour was amazing. Thomas and his crew not only made the modifications we requested but were there for us throughout the trip. They made suggestions to our itinerary that worked better than we anticipated. On one day they dealt with a canceled train due to 17" of snow in Munich., On another day they found a train for us that was still running when the rail workers called a strike on the day before we were to travel. We were a bit apprehensive being "on our own" without a group to travel with, but in reality, found it so much better. Not having to rush to be back on a boat or bus by a fixed time to be herded from place to place is so freeing. The hotels were great and always a short walk to train station. While the Markets were similar, each town was different and so were the opportunities to explore their differences as you wished. Thomas and crew had the local transportation passes and information that we needed to experience what we wanted. One day we did a half day trip from Munich to experience Dachau. When we plan our next trip to Europe we will be using To-Europe.
WE just returned from a grand trip from Budapest to Paris! The staff of to-europe did a fabulous job with our requests in planning our trip with the most efficiency. Their assistance along the way when we ran in to cancelled trains etc was done with the utmost professionalism. I am happy to share our itinerary and recommend to-europe highly!! This was our 3rd customized tour with this company! We are 72 and 76 and felt safe and secure the entire time due to our detailed planning by Thomas, Marie and all of the agents.. Happy Traveling to all!
For my 60th birthday, I wanted to plan my dream trip to Germany. This trip would be special to visit the birthplace of my grand father in the Black Forest and wanted to include a Rhine river cruise, some castles, Oktoberfest, and also a few days in Austria to visit Salzburg and Vienna Where I wanted to have a Sound of Music tour and visit the Spanish riding school. After much research online, I found TO-EUROPE and was so impressed with a quick response from Thomas as to how he could customize this trip for me. Their communication was prompt and efficient and the tour was laid out perfectly with all wonderful hotels and recommendations. All we had to do was follow the checklist and itinerary, and, everything went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again in the future.
We booked the Germany-Austria circle rail trip with a few customizations. Every hotel was wonderful. Every breakfast was delicious. Every detail was considered in making this trip a success for my father, my sisters and I. I appreciated the flexibility of adding Dresden to our itinerary-a place my 80-year old father really wanted to see. And then based on some of our "wants" adjustments were made to stay longer in certain cities. To-Europe was very accomodating in making sure that we were able to visit all of the places we were determined to visit. Traveling by train rather than with a tour group gave us more flexibility but also came with a bit of a learning curve. I would highly recommend downloading the Deutsch Bahn app as it made things a lot easier for us. In the cities we were booked for one-night only, I wish we'd either taken earlier trains or booked additional days since there is always so much to see and enjoy. I followed the suggestions of one reviewer and printed all of our documentation, organizing by folder for each city. I also made the information available offline in my Google drive which proved very helpful as well. We had one glitch with our last train-a repair that closed the tracks and forced us to re-route. A quick phone call to the emergency number had us confidently making the adjustments needed and I apprecitated that he called back to make sure we were safely on our way. Definitley book the trip! Book the first-class tickets! Europe by rail was delightful and To-Europe did a first-class job of making it a memorable and enjoyable trip!
You created a special itinerary for us, selected some great hotels, let us choose transportation methods and times…. Next time we are ready to travel we will go to you first! Your communications were excellent and timely. Great job
TO-Europe is so efficient and wonderful to deal with. Every person I had email contact with was so lovely and helpful. They are extremely patient with all the questions. The hotels booked were truly first class and in great locations. The tours booked were awesome. I highly recommend them and I would use them again. Going to Paris and Austria was a long-time dream for my family. When I found TO-Europe online I thought what a great way to get to Austria from Paris and visit another country along the way. This portion of our trip did not disappoint. We added 2 day stay to Vienna which was easily added to our package. I cannot say enough about the level of service I received. Thank you Thomas, Christian and everyone else at TO-Europe, you helped make our dream come true! Sharon P., Belleville ON, Canada
Christian - We would like to take a moment to thank you for all the work you did to make this such a special experience for us. You were willing to change the tour to accommodate a visit with our nephew in Kaiserslautern which was such a great beginning! Throughout the tour we were amazed that everything was so well planned. We had no problems getting from city to city by train and getting around the cities once we arrived. We were also very happy with the accommodations in each city. The hotels were well within walking distance of the train stations so we were able to drop off our packs before beginning the adventure that day. This was our first visit to Europe and we would not hesitate to use your services if and when we decide to return. Thank you so much!
Our party of 4 selected to-Europe.com as our tour provider based on their quick responses to our early inquiries about organizing a tour of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for us. The Romantic Road tour interested us, but we wanted to make some adjustments to the itinerary so that we could visit other some other cities, and then tie the tour in with visiting a friend in Switzerland. We could not be happier with the tour they put together for us. They were quick to respond to all our questions and were able to accommodate all our requests. We were so grateful that they organized a private shuttle for us at the last minute for our travel from Frankfurt Airport to our hotel in Heidelberg. That made a long travel day so much easier for us. We were especially grateful for their quick help when trains to one of our destinations were all canceled. A quick call to their hotline and within the hour we were on our way to another destination. We would highly recommend them and look forward to using to-Europe.com for our future travel.
My wife and I just completed a customized 11 day 8 city train tour of Germany and Austria arranged by To-Europe.. The hotels (all including breakfast) were wonderful and outside of Heidelberg all were within walking distance to the train stations. Taxi vouchers were even provided in Heidelberg. Every detail was taken care of! We had one hiccup (our fault) that Thomas corrected immediately. If you'd like to experience Europe on your own by train I can't recommend To-Europe highly enough. Pro tips- Book first class train travel and print and organize your itinerary and vouchers in a folder before leaving. Don't hesitate book your amazing adventure with To-Europe!.
We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our tour, how helpful every single person was that we dealt with etc. Thomas worked with us to add an extra stop and customize a couple of items for us. The hotels in the Luxury tour were amazing, zero problems with any of the trains we chose to use and some of the tours were amazing. Highly recommend not missing the day trip from Vienna to Melk, just wonderful cruising sown the Danube to the amazing monastery. A wonder 3 week trip and the first class service from Thomas and team made it possible. - Ken W. Vancouver, Canada
This is the second trip To-Europe has helped me with and I would again, recommend TO-EUROPE a thousand times over! My husband and I just returned from a trip to Switzerland and Milan. Marie, Woldemar, Christian, Silke, and Thomas at TO-EUROPE were exceptional. The team was so creative, patient and helpful. They scheduled all transfers, hotels, and trains. Our vouchers and timetables were emailed to us prior to our trip. All we had to worry about was packing, scheduling our flights and deciding what we wanted to do each day. They took care of everything else for us. We even had a self-induced hiccup while sitting on a train. Thomas resolved the issue within a few minutes after I sent in an emergency request. All of our hotels were very nice and were located within a short walking distance to the train station. The service provided by TO-EUROPE exceeded my expectations. I look forward to our next journey!
We worked collaboratively with Thomas and his teach to design a tour for our areas of interest.Considering the duration and extent, everything went like clockwork and we were at our destinations on time. Thomas also provided valuable insights on places to see and routes to follow. The service of the team is meticulous with all the needed information for those not familiar with traveling in Europe. With the climate changes and the schedules to juggle everything went smoothly as planned. Very knowledgeable and reliable. Looking forward to another trip.
We just got back from a wonderful trip, 3 days in Paris, then onto beautiful cities in Germany and Switzerland. The experience working with To-Europe was smooth and we had no complaints. The staff were always ready to assist us when needed. We loved the hotels and we maneuvered our way through the train stations/schedules with out any difficulties!
This was our third Europe trip through To-Europe. You did a great job of finding the right Rail connections, the right hotels near train stations. Everything was as smooth and flawless as can be. Thank you Thomas, Marie, Woldemar and Christian for your help. We truly appreciate it.
Our trip was absolutely awesome. We booked a custom tour from Amsterdam to Cologne, Kronberg, Nuremberg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen including the Zugspitze, Heidelberg, and back to Amsterdam. All Hotel and travel arrangements were superb. We had no difficulty in traveling by train and locating our hotels. This was our 5th tour with ToEurope and we are definitely planning another exciting trip next year. We highly recommend ToEurope for all European travel plans.
I highly recommend Thomas and his team for any travel in Europe!! This was the PERFECT family vacation! It was the easiest way to see all of the sites of Central Europe. Thomas and his team were incredibly professional and very detail- oriented. We were nervous about travelling abroad for so long and to so many different places. Thomas and his team were very prompt in answering any and all of our questions and even called to explain the German train tickets! We had one question during our tour, and it was answered immediately. Everything was planned out perfectly. The trains were very easy to navigate, our hotels were all excellent, and everything was sent in a timely manner. We had a marvelous time and if we ever travel to Europe again, we will definitely use Thomas!
This trip was fantastic! I started with an extra night in Berlin so three nights total, with two nights in Prague, Vienna, and Budapest. The instructions were clear and the itinerary was excellent for solo travel. All of the hotels were nice, clean, and safe. The only hotel I would rate lower was the Hotel Bristol in Budapest. The lobby was old and run down but the room was updated and acceptable. The Central Rail Station in Budapest is not in a nice section of town so my first impression of Budapest wasn't great. However, the location - close to a double-decker bus stop and a grocery store was ideal. Budapest ended up being one of my favorite stops. The transportation passes provided for Berlin and Vienna were useful and the hotel in Prague is within walking distance of everything I wanted to see. The only shortcoming was in Budapest. A hop-on-hop-off bus ticket was provided which was great but no info about public transportation so I was tied to the tourist bus schedules - ending at 6pm or expensive taxis. Overall, this was one of the best trips I have taken! Highly recommended!
I cannot say enough about Thomas and his crew. We have used them to book 4 trips to Germany for multiple travelers and each time when we altered something in the itinerary, Thomas as so accommodating. Any time there is an issue with our trains, he is there to help. Even when we ran in to issues with COVID last year, Thomas was invaluable in finding information for us. We will continue to use his services as long as we run our trip to Germany! Europe is the best!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip! All the hotels booked were conveniently located . Thank you very much for your service. Would love to plan further trips with you'll!
I highly recommend this tour agency especially our tour agent Thomas. He helped 5 of us plan a 2 week tour of Switzerland, Austria and Hungary, including the hotels arrangements and train itinerary. A special mention needs to be made of how helpful he was when I lost my handbag (and my passport) during day 6 of the trip. It was the Easter holidays but my friends and I were able to reach him and he was very empathetic and helpful. He rearranged our hotels and train transport because we needed to go to the Singapore Consulate in Munich, Germany to do my Document of Identity (a temporary replacement for my lost passport). I am deeply grateful for his assistance during this difficult time for me. Thank you again Thomas.
Thomas is a very professional and dependable guy. We booked a 7 nights tour from Zurich to Budapest.Half way during the trip in Austria, one of my friend left her bags that carry passport ,cash and credit card in the train heading to Munich. I immediately contact Thomas and he was there to assist me. Within a while, Thomas told me they located the bag and will be in Munich station Lost and Found department. He also provide me with the link to file the lost bags. We change our itinerary last 3 days as we need to hear to Munich to get the document of Identity from the consulate of Singapore. Thomas helped me to booked the train and accomodation in Munich immediately after I told him about the changed of itinerary. The most amazing things did happened, my friend managed to retrieved her bag in Munich Station lost and found, is a miracle. All belonging was intact, and she was able to fly back together with us as planned . There are no words to describe Thomas action and all out assistant and help, your professionalism and call of duty is exceptional. My respect to you. I will strongly recommend whoever wish to book a tour in central Europe , it must be to-Europe.com. Thank you so much Thomas, we are back home safely and although we didn't visit Bratislava and Budapest , we did visit Munich . Danke and GOD bless you ......
We went on a trip to Germany from 31 Dec 22 for 12 days. Based on the “8-DAY CITY DUO MUNICH, BERLIN” tour package, Thomas had provided very good recommendations and helped to further customise the itinerary to meet our needs and interest. We had touched down in Munich on NYE to experience the year end celebrations. We then took the ICE train to Berlin the following day and started the tour from Berlin. Thomas had included Dresden, Nuremburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber as part of our travel itinerary before we returned to Munich again to complete the tour. The trip was very well planned and organised. The tickets, vouchers, city and places of interest information, hotel and transportation arrangements were sent to us 1-2 weeks before our trip began. During the trip, when we sought advice via email from Thomas and team with regard to the trip and places to visit, they had been very helpful and prompt in replying to us. We had a wonderful time and we would recommend To-Europe.com services to our friends. A big thank you to Thomas, Woldemar and Marie! Regards, Florence & family, Singapore
We had a brilliant 28 day customized Christmas rail tour through Europe. We were a bit nervous at first booking through an overseas tour company. To-Europe and Thomas were amazing. All train tickets and hotel accommodation were provided before we left. The directions from stations to our accommodation were very easy to navigate, Train travel is the way to go and "To-Europe" is who you should book with. We will book through Thomas and "To-Europe" for our next adventure....we highly....highly recommend them.
This was an amazing experience. Each day full of surprises. Very well Thought and executed. Thank you very much for all the great attention, Great hotels. Great activities. Impecable. Thanks Thomas and all the team Definitely we will repeat !!!
Three of us, a couple and friend, recently returned from the 9-Day Germany & Austria Christmas Rail Tour and can't thank Thomas and the To-Europe Team enough for their work in making our holiday easy and memorable. From the outset they were very helpful in seeking to understand what we wanted and made bookings for rail journeys, hotels and visits/events that were smooth, comfortable and stress-free. We have wonderful memories to carry with us now, in large part thanks to your excellent planning.
Thomas arranged a terrific rail tour of the Christmas Markers in many cities in Germany, plus Prague, Vienna and Salzburg from November 27 to December 9. The hotels were close to the train stations and, therefore, an easy walk, and were exactly as described. The Heidelburg hotel was especially lovely and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The directions were all clear (although I missed one about the Munich pass as providing entry to museums) and we had a great time. There was one train issue that was not within anyone's control that cost us an entire day, but we did survive it. It was a very memorable trip and I would recommend this team if you are looking to tour by rail! Thank you, Thomas, Woldemar and Marie!
We did the 9-day Germany/Austria Christmas circle tour. It was amazing/breathtaking/magical. Thomas was so helpful; everything was planned perfectly. We didn't need to contact him at all during our trip which shows that he properly organized the tour flawlessly! We flew in a day early to spend more time in Frankfurt, and we are glad we did. The Christmas markets were wonderful. Vienna was our favorite. The highlight of our trip was visiting Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace. The hotels were very nice and close to the train station (if we were to do this tour again, we would prefer our hotel to be in the middle of each town in the heart of city). We had one train delay and one cancelled train, but it was easy to find another train to board to get to our destination. It was so nice to spend 2 days in Vienna & Munich, we would have loved to spend 2 days in each town we visited. One day did not seem enough time to really immerse yourself in the city. Overall, we loved the tour!! THANK YOU to Europe.com & Thomas.
Thomas, Woldemar, and Marie made a customized Christmas market rail tour for us through Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria for us, and also made arrangement for our extra stay in Vienna. All the directions were clear and all the arrangements were perfect. We had a wonderful time. All credits to the Staff, and hope more people can use their excellent services and enjoy their unique/relaxing tours.
My family and I (6 total) did the 10 day rail trip in December 2022 and had the most magical and most amazing trip ever. This trip was suppose to happen last year but was cancelled due to Covid. The train experience was excellent- we chose the 1st class rail tickets and we were so glad we did. We had a private car to ourselves on most long train rides. The hotels were very nice and within easy walking distance from the train station. The hotel breakfast’s were excellent. We loved each city we visited. Our favorite Market was Dresden and our favorite cities were Prague and Rothenburg. We loved the market food, and the crepes were a favorite. The trip is well planned and Thomas and his staff do an excellent job of attending g to every detail. The itinerary was easy to follow and we were able to see and do so much. We were also blessed to have snow during our trip and the people of Germany told us it hadn’t snowed in December for more than 10 years. The hotel staff at each of our hotels were so friendly and they were use to working with this tour group and were able to answer questions if needed. We had an absolutely wonderful time and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in doing the Christmas markets and needing guidance and direction on how to achieve the best experience possible. This tour group deserves the 5 star rating I am giving it. Well done Thomas and staff.
