Andaman Tourism Opens: The Andaman & Nicobar administration has announced that all tourist spots in the South Andaman district will be opened for tourism activities with immediate effect 8 Feb 2022.

RT PCR report on arrival

A negative RT PCR report has to be presented by all passengers on arrival.

What is the advisory to travel to North & Middle Andaman District?

The tourists are allowed to visit Baratang/North & Middle Andaman on production of double dose covid certificate/ All other passengers viz. unvaccinated and partially vaccinated passengers (those who have taken only 1S1 dose of COVID vaccine) shall have to produce RT-PCR negative test report

• All asymptomatic fully vaccinated persons coming to these islands from mainland are  exempted  from the requirement of carrying RT-PCR negative test report,irrespective of the type of vaccine received and country of origin. Such fullyvaccinated individuals shall produce the final vaccination certificate at the origin airport ,  sea port in the mainland and at Port Blair Airport / sea port.
• Alt asymptomatic children below 5 years of age are exempted from carrying RT-PCR negative test report and further RT-PCR testing at Port Blair Airport.
• All other passengers viz. unvaccinated and partially vaccinated passengers (those who have taken only 1S1 dose of COVID vaccine) shall have to produce RT-PCR negative test report to travel to Port Blair from the mainland, as is the practice now. Such an RT-PCR test should have been taken within 48 hours prior to commencement of journey from the origin airport connecting Port Blair. Such passengers will also have to undergo additional RT-PCR test on arrival at Port Blair. Such passengers shall remain in self-quarantine till the arrival of the test report.
• If a passenger on arrival is tested positive then, the prescribed quarantine protocol is to be followed.
• All Airlines shall ensure strict compliance of this order and observance of COVID Appropriate Behaviour. Any non-compliance shall invite action under Disaster Management Act and other applicable laws. 

General Guidelines defined for traveling to Andaman Islands during COVID :

• The Tourism Activities are permitted only in South Andaman & North & Middle Andaman District except Nicobar District.
• Persons above 65 years of age, persons with home co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years advised not to travel for tourism purposes.
• Tourists/Visitors who are at higher risk due to some medical history are advised to take extra precautions.
• Tourists/visitors shall minimize contact with other staff and visitors as far as possible and zero contact policy should be followed at all tourist destinations.
• All tourists/visitors shall be briefed by the hotel concerned about do’s & don’ts to be mandatorily followed during their stay and movements.
• While travelling tourists/visitors should wear a face mask and carry their own sanitizer and wet wipes for personal use.
• At all tourist destinations, staff must wear face masks and wash/sanitize hands regularly while performing their duties.
• Arogya Setu App shall be mandatory for all incoming tourists/visitors.
• Respiratory etiquettes to be strictly followed. This involves strict practice of covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing/sneezing with a tissue handkerchief/flexed elbow and disposing off used tissues properly after use.
• The tourists/visitors on arrival at Port Blair airport have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 screening with RTPCR test free of cost. Thereafter the tourists/ visitors are allowed to move to their respective hotels. However, they will have to be under quarantine at Port Blair in their hotel rooms until the result of RTPCR tests are received. In case of RTPCR positive test results, the tourists/visitors shall remain in institutional quarantine in hotels notified by the Hoteliers Association in consent with the A&%N Administration, on rate as specified or to the designated hospital/ Covid 19 care centre on case to case basis.

What are the guidelines for testing for tourists coming to Andaman after August 03 2021?

On arrival at Port Blair : 1. The tourists need to carry COVID-19 negative test report from mainland based 1CMR approved lab using Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR). However, the sample for RTPCR test should have been taken within 48 hours prior to starting the journey from the origin station. (For e.g. if the tourist takes a flight from Delhi at 0600 hrs. on 1st September, 2021, the sample for RTPCR test should have been taken not before 0600 hrs. on 30th August, 2021). 2. The tourists/visitors on arrival at Port Blair airport have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 screening with RTPCR test free of cost. Thereafter the tourists/visitors are allowed to move to their respective hotels. However, they will have to be under quarantine at Port Blair in their hotel rooms until the result of RTPCR tests are received. In case of RTPCR positive test results, the tourists/visitors shall remain in institutional quarantine in hotels notified by the Hoteliers Association in consent with the A&N Administration, on rates as specified or to the designated hospital/ Covid-19 care centre on case-to-case basis.

3. Tourists may also have to undergo random Rapid Antigen Test conducted from time to time on payment basis as prescribed by A8N Administration.

What if the tourists test positive after arriving at the Andaman Islands?

If the tourists tests positive during their stay in the Islands, he/she will need to undergo institutional isolation as per existing health protocols. The cost of such isolation for govt. facility will be paid by the tourists as fixed by the administration from time to time. If the patient wants to stay at hotels, he/she can stay in the hotels if all the conditions below are met: a) Patients are not symptomatic and not more than 60 years old. b) Request/ undertaking is made by patient in writing. c)lf allowed by doctors. Hotels will make necessary arrangements to designate a part of their rooms for institutional isolation for this purpose.

• Regular flights to Port Blair (the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands) are operational now.
• There are direct flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Delhi.
• Public transports like cabs, taxis, and bus services are also functional.

Travellers should carefully follow social distancing norms and wear masks as well. Also, before making any booking, they should refer to the latest travel news on the government website of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Makruzz is one of the oldest and most reputed ferry companies in Andamans. The Makruzz 1 started operating in 2009 and is still functional in Andamans along with the cruises of different brands. Over the years Makruzz Cruises have progressed and are doing extremely well in transferring people from one island to another with great comfort and services. 

The Makruzz family has a fleet of 3 cruises- Makruzz 1, Makruzz Gold, and Makruzz Pearl. Each of the cruises gives you a different experience in terms of the interiors, services, speed, comfort, and seating but the main goal is to provide a smooth trip for its passengers. 

Makruzz 1 is the first cruise introduced by the M.V. Makruzz Company. It is a closed deck cruise with comfortable seating and good service. It is a high-speed catamaran and is first of its kind in Andamans.  The seating capacity is about 250 seats divided into 3 categories – Economy, Deluxe, and Luxury/Royal. Each category has different experiences to offer the passengers in terms of seating space, seats, services, and hospitality. The view gets better at each deck and that one of the major reasons for passengers to opt for the higher categories. 

The cruise is fully air-conditioned and the seats are comfortable with adequate legroom space. Seating arrangement differs in each category and a huge transparent glass runs through the entire cruise to provide the customers with views of the sea.  The cruise has televisions, restrooms, and an in-board pantry. A music system is available for entertainment purposes. The restrooms are clean and comfortable. The pantry is well stocked with snacks and beverages. 

Makruzz 1 sails from Port Blair-Havelock-Neil-Port Blair. It departs from Haddo Wharf Jetty. The journey takes about 90 minutes from Port Blair to the destination on a one-way trip. 

Makruzz has the option of online & advance booking of ferry tickets but the only drawback is that it does not allow you to choose the seats as per your preference. It follows the first-come-first-serve-basis of seating and allots seats according to the booking patterns.  We recommend you to choose Makruzz 1 for at least one trip to experience riding on the first-ever private cruise that sailed in Andamans.

Makruzz was launched in Andaman Islands in the year 2002 and has been running successfully ever since.

This is a Catamaran twin hull vessel with the fastest cruising speed in Andaman Islands i.e 32 nautical miles, thanks to its dual engine. For maximum comfort and safety the cruise is usually run at 23-25 nautical miles.

The broadened two hull design offers great stability and safety during high speed cruising & travel during unfavorable weather, this lets you enjoy meals and beverages without having to think about uncomfortable movements.

Cruise Amenities:

Makruzz has a clean and beautiful contemporary interiors with comfortable foam embedded seating and a great interior ambiance for comfortable travel.

There are large windows on each side with low bezels that provide a scenic view of the sea during your travel. The panels are designed in such a way that they run to the top and allow all passengers to enjoy the open sea view.

Entertainment:

For entertainment during your travel, the vessel is equipped with a 42" television that shows different shows and information about the place you are about to visit.

Deluxe class passengers can enjoy their time with 4, 19" televisions present on both upper and lower deck while the Royal class passengers are provided with 2, 14" televisions for a total 8 seating's that give a premium travel experience.

The vessel is well-equipped with different kinds of snacks and beverages that appeals to different age groups. The kiosk is run through the entire area, so you can get what you'd like easily.

For Premium and Deluxe class passengers, meal is complimentary and provided without any additional costs.

Premium Class:

Premium Class in Makruzz is the standard for traveling and comes with comfortable seating's and standard entertainment. There are a total of 208 seats in this class, so getting tickets is easy.

Although, meals are not included in tickets for this, they can be bought in vessel by calling the staff when they are running the kiosk.

Deluxe Class:

Deluxe class offers a better travel experience with dedicated staff, better and more soft seating's with 4 TV's for better view.

There are 64 seats in this class, which allows for less congested seating's and more leg room, but the tickets sell fast, so make sure you book it in advance.

The best part is that, the ticket comes with a complimentary meal during the voyage, so you can enjoy the continental food while traveling.

Royal Class:

Royal class offers the best service and experience and is recommended for travelers who like travel with comfort.

Spacious and comfortable seating with extra log room space and two chairs per window makes the experience wonderful.

The royal class has dedicated staff that cater to all you needs and a free complimentary meal is provided with every booking.

There are only 8 seats in this class, so make sure you book the ticker in advance to avoid missing out.

With the beautiful yet sometimes ravaging Indian ocean, safety during your voyage is of utmost importance. Makruzz comes with advanced level security that meets the standards of International safety in 'life-saving', 'fire fighting', 'communication' and 'navigational', this vessel leaves no space for errors.

The complete cruise is equipped with smoke and fire detectors, and the design of the vessel is fire retardant, including the seats, to help control the fire in place.

Evacuation:

Makruzz boasts a proper Marine Evacuation System with reversible type lift-rafts, capable of handling medium to high waves and staying straight. Moreover, life jackets are present under every seat, so you can quickly use them in case of an emergency.

Navigation and Communication:

Navigation and communication is managed by advanced operational machinery with precise handling and a central announcement system.

Mak is fully capable of receiving weather, metro-logical, and emergency warnings, with precise equipment capable of sending and receiving distress signals.

Besides this, an safety video is shown after you board the ship, prior to departure, so you can learn more about the options, and make the right decision when it's needed.

It's advisable to book ferry tickets in advance when travelling to the Andaman Islands, especially during the peak tourist season, to secure your seats and schedules. Last-minute bookings may be risky due to limited availability, so planning ahead is recommended for a smoother travel experience.

Different ferry operators have varying policies for infants:

• Makruzz and ITT Majestic: No charges for infants under 1 year.
• Green Ocean: No charges for infants under 2 years.
• Nautika/Nautika Lite: Infants under 2 years are not charged in full, but there is an INR 105 + 50 PSF fee per infant.

Booking directly through the ferry operator's official website grants access solely to their services and support. Conversely, Go2Andaman is a partnering platform that consolidates information from multiple operators, offering a broader array of choices, potential discounts, and superior user experiences and customer support.

The only ferry providing Open Deck Access is Green Ocean 1; all other ferries are fully enclosed, offering a panoramic view of the sea.

The distance between Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair and the boarding point for Private Ferries at Haddo Jetty is around 5 km. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes to reach there by auto-rickshaw or taxi. In case you plan to take the Government Ferry, you will have to go to Phoenix Bay Jetty, which is 10-20 minutes away.

Ferry seat categories offer different comfort levels, sea views, and legroom. The base category is like economy class on a flight and is below deck. The mid and upper categories are above deck and like business class on a flight.

We do not accept booking requests for routes from mainland India (such as Kolkata, Vizag, or Chennai) to Andaman, Little Andaman, or any restricted islands.

Book ferries for four routes: Port Blair to Havelock Island, Havelock Island to Neil Island, Neil Island to Port Blair and Havelock Island to Port Blair.

When you take a ferry, your luggage will be subjected to an X-ray scan for security purposes. Please note that only checked-in luggage can carry alcohol up to 1 liter per person. It is not allowed to carry alcohol in hand baggage. Additionally, you are allowed to carry small hand luggage and check-in luggage that weighs up to 25 KG per person.

If your travel date is within the next 7 days, one of our team members will contact you through phone, email, or WhatsApp to confirm the availability of your ticket, In such cases, you may be required to pay the remaining balance amount upfront to process your ticket.

As a standard practice, they are likely to suggest either purchasing a new ticket or extending their support in securing a seat on the next accessible ferry, usually for a small fee, subject to availability. 

Please ensure you have the following essential documents with you when boarding:

• Ferry Tickets
• Government-IDs (such as Aadhaar or Passport)

While it is advisable to have a printed ticket with you during the boarding process, it is not mandatory.

To ensure a smooth boarding process, we suggest arriving at the jetty at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If you're traveling with children or seniors, we recommend arriving 1 hour prior to departure. Please note that boarding gates close 30 minutes before departure, so please plan accordingly.

The Ferry Operators/Go2andaman will use the email and phone number provided at booking for communication regarding cancellations or rescheduling. You need to keep these accounts active and accessible.

If a ferry sailing is canceled due to uncontrollable factors, passengers are offered a free rescheduling option based on availability. If this option is not satisfactory, a full refund can be requested.

Makruzz Pearl is the third cruise in the fleet of Makruzz. After sister cruises Makruzz 1 and Makruzz Gold, Makruzz Pearl was launched in 2019. This cruise is expected to sail from Port Blair to Baratang Island and from Baratang Island to Havelock Island. It presents three classes for its guests –208 seats in Premium, 64 seats in Deluxe and 8 seats in Royal. The seats are comfortable and the seating order differs in each category. 

The vessel is fully air-conditioned with all the basic amenities that are required during a journey. The cruise has fancy and plush interiors, comfortable seats, and television & music systems for entertainment on all decks and in each category. The in-board pantry is stocked well with snacks and beverages in plenty and variety. It also has a restroom that is well maintained for the passengers during the journey.  A thick transparent window runs through the entire deck that gives the passengers a great panoramic view of the sea. It is a closed deck and has 3 to 4 other cruises that are operational in the Andaman Islands.

Makruzz is a high-speed Catamaran Passenger Ferry. Catamaran is a twin hull vessel and the advantage is that it offers ‘highspeed’, ‘better stability’ and ‘more space’.
