Morgan Wallen Bringing ‘The Dangerous Tour’ to Cajundome on April 23

One of the hottest acts in country music is coming to Lafayette as Morgan Wallen is bringing his "The Dangerous Tour" to the Cajundome on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Joining Morgan on the bill will be openers Hardy and Larry Fleet .

Tickets for this show will go on sale this Friday, November 19 at 10:00 am through MorganWallen.com  and the Cajundome Box Office.

Of course, your favorite country station in Acadiana will have free tickets to this show.

28-year-old Wallen first enjoyed success on Season 6 of The Voice back in 2014. He was eliminated during the playoffs.

Later, he would sign to Big Loud Records and released his debut single "The Way I Talk" in 2016. His second single, "Up Down," from his debut  If I Know Me  album, would become his first #1.

The train has been hard to stop since, with hits like "Whiskey Glasses," "Chasin' You," "More Than My Hometown," and his latest "Sand in My Boots."

Wallen's second and current effort  Dangerous: The Double Album, was released in January 2021, shot straight to #1 on most of the album charts, and has been a fan favorite ever since.

This will actually be Morgan Wallen's third appearance in Lafayette.

In 2019, he headlined our very first Holiday Hangover Show as he co-starred with Granger Smith . Then in March 2020 (right before the pandemic shut everything down), he opened up for Jason Aldean at the Cajundome.

Morgan Wallen Announces Expansive New Tour, the ‘Dangerous’ Tour

Morgan Wallen has announced nearly 50 tour dates for 2022. On Monday morning (Nov. 15), the singer revealed plans for the Dangerous Tour with labelmates  Hardy and Larry Fleet .

The tour is named after his last album Dangerous: The Double Album , released in January.

Hardy will join Wallen for most dates on the tour, while Fleet will be a part of the first half of the tour. A note on the Wallen's Instagram page indicates that after June 1, he'll add a different supporting artist. Tickets for tour stops through April 30 go on sale on Nov. 19. The remainder go on sale on Dec. 3.

The tour begins nearly one year after Wallen was removed from most corporate radio programming playlists and digital streaming platform playlists, as well as dropped by his book agent. He was caught using a racist word after a night out drinking with friends. The 28-year-old stepped away from the spotlight for several weeks before slowly returning to a regular social media schedule that found him socializing with other country stars, sharing new songs holding his baby boy.

"Sand in My Boots" is Wallen's current single at country radio. It sits just inside the Top 20.

Hardy is best known for his song "One Beer" and for writing songs recorded by Wallen and Florida Georgia Line . Fleet's lone single " Where I Find God " did not catch on at country radio, but earned strong critical reviews. The singer is praised for a big, soulful voice.

country star tour arena

Morgan Wallen might still have been persona non grata at the CMA Awards last week, and has been banned from attending the American Music Awards this coming weekend, but as far as the embattled star is concerned, his time-out is over. Wallen has just announced a nearly eight-month headlining tour that will take him to arenas and amphitheaters around the U.S. for nearly eight months in 2022.

The tour starts Feb. 3 in Evansville, Indiana and wraps up Sept. 24 at L.A.’s Staples Center. Stops in-between include gigs at New York’s Madison Square Garden Feb. 9 and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena March 17. Wallen’s trek will reach 46 cities in all.

Although Live Nation (which currently faces some battles of its own, facing lawsuits in the wake of the Astroworld disaster) is not mentioned in the official tour announcement, it is the promoter for most if not all of the dates on the seven-month-plus swing.

The arena shows go on sale Friday, with the summer amphitheater dates going up at a later date, Dec. 3.

Popular on Variety

Wallen’s friend and frequent co-writer Hardy will join him on nearly all of the shows, with Larry Fleet as an additional opening act on most.

The country star’s agency status has been a source of considerable intrigue within the music industry in recent weeks. WME dropped Wallen as a client immediately following the revelation that Wallen had been caught on video saying the N-word in early February of this year. However, it was revealed this month that WME had booked some shows for the star this fall, at which point the agency claimed that these were concerts that had been on Wallen’s schedule previously, before pandemic postponements, that it was obligated to follow through on.

Subsequently, it’s been reported that a WME agent, Austin Neal, was booking this 2022 tour for him independently, not under the auspices of WME. There has been speculation Neal might go out on his own and form a new agency to book Wallen and others.

Wallen has dipped his toe back into touring this fall. He has a three-night stand at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky that sold out within minutes, followed by another three-nighter at Landers Center in Mississippi next month.

The singer has been warmly welcomed back at country radio after being taken off the airwaves for a few months at most stations in the wake of the N-word scandal. His current single, “Sand in My Boots,” is currently at No. 15 after 19 weeks and is seen as a good bet to reach the top 5 and possibly hit No. 1.

Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” remains the most successful album of 2021 so far, though it ultimately may be dethroned by Drake’s latest for that status.

Wallen’s tour dates:

Morgan Wallen Announces Massive US Tour With Live Nation — WME Involvement Remains Unclear

Morgan Wallen tour

Morgan Wallen is done taking time out of his career. The country singer has announced a 2022 stadium tour next year.

Despite bans from the CMA Awards and the American Music Awards over his use of a racial slur, Wallen is giving fans what they want with a headlining tour. The eight-month tour will see the country star tour across America in 2022, starting in February in Indiana. The tour wraps up in September with a performance at the Los Angeles’ Staple Center.

Live Nation is on board as the promoter for most of the dates in this eight-month Morgan Wallen tour.

The entertainment company is currently facing a mass of lawsuits after what happened at the Astroworld Festival in Houston. Wallen fans in Alabama were recently re-selling their tickets to a concert after concerns of crowd surge and 30,000 ticket sales.

Tickets for the Morgan Wallen tour will go on sale on November 21 for arena shows , and December 3 for summer amphitheater shows.

Wallen co-writer Hardy will also be joining the country star on nearly all of the dates. Larry Fleet is also touring with Wallen as an opening act for most dates. Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album is the most successful album of 2021 so far, though Drake’s Certified Lover Boy is gunning for that status.

Another Morgan Wallen story. Very important to post this. Where are the articles about other artists who are announcing tours? There are many, DMN.

Hey, Morgan Wallen doesn’t suck. He’s just a special kind of guy. I believe any money spent on tickets or music is a tax write-off, considered charity.

One Thing At A Time – Sampler  Drops at Midnight TONIGHT w/ Three New Songs: “One Thing At A Time,” “Days That End In Why” and “Tennessee Fan”

$3 of Every Ticket for U.S. Dates Benefits Morgan Wallen Foundation

INGLEWOOD, CA. –  Morgan Wallen  admittedly treats his tours like an athlete approaching a new season, so when the East Tennessean wrapped his wildly successful 55-city  Dangerous Tour  on Oct. 8, no one expected he’d come with a line-up of more shows this soon. Yet, the ACM Milestone Award Winner and only country artist nominated for  Pollstar ’s Major Tour of the Year  award revealed this morning he’s not only expanding the size of the venues he’s playing, he’s traveling around the globe to see his fans in 2023!

Morgan Wallen’s   One Night At A Time World Tour , produced by Live Nation in North America and Frontier Touring for Australia/New Zealand, kicks off overseas March 15-24with shows in New Zealand and Australia before returning stateside with a stop at  SoFi Stadium  on  Saturday, July 22, 2023 .   HARDY ,  ERNEST  and  Bailey Zimmerman  will support the date. Thirty-nine dates in total with 17 stadiums, amphitheaters and arenas to boot.  Tickets on sale at  MorganWallen.com  beginning Friday, Dec. 9.

Wallen named his tour after one-of-three new songs dropping tonight at midnight on his  One Thing At A Time – Sampler : “One Thing At A Time”; “Tennessee Fan,” paying homage to Wallen’s East Tennessee upbringing; and “Days That End In Why.” Together, these three songs serve as the first taste of what’s to come from his time in the studio and arrive on the heels of his new single at Country radio, “ Thought You Should Know ,” cowritten with  Miranda Lambert  and  Nicolle Galyon , currently sitting Top 20 as his latest No. 1 “You Proof” returns to the top of the charts for a rare sixth, non-consecutive week atop the Country Airplay chart.

“Man, what a year 2022 has been with the  Dangerous Tour . I had the time of my life, and I cannot begin to express how grateful I am that my fans connected with the  Dangerous  album the way they did,” Wallen shares. “I’ve had so many people ask me if I wanted to take some time off; but the truth is – I have been writing and making so much music in my off-time because I feel as inspired as I ever have. It feels like new songs are pouring out of me, and I love that feeling. We are going to run it back next year with the  One Night At A Time World Tour . Bigger venues. New countries. Bigger memories. See y’all there.”

As one of the biggest artists in the world with  Dangerous  continuing to notch historical chart status as  Billboard’s  longest running Top 10 album in history for a solo artist (eclipsing Adele’s  21  and Bruce Springsteen’s  Born In The USA ), the 2022  American Music Awards ’ Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Country Song winner adds, “Also, I’m not quite done making this new album, so I’m going to keep making it through the holiday break and early January to chase this inspiration. I promise I won’t wait too long to reveal the album details. To hold you over, I’m dropping three new songs today as a sampler of what I’ve been working on. Can’t wait to take it  one night at a time  in 2023.”

Wallen’s 2022  Dangerous Tour  spanned over 50 shows and broke records in 30 venues across the country during its 8-month-long run. Highlights include his historic Globe Life Field show, which became the fastest sellout in the venue’s history and surpassed attendance records previously held by artists such as Elton John and Lady Gaga, and holding fastest historical sellouts at 11 venues, while simultaneously breaking attendance records with stops at XFINITY Theatre, AmericanBank Center and Darien Lake Amphitheater.

As on his  Dangerous Tour,  $3 of every ticket sold for U.S. dates benefits the Morgan Wallen Foundation which funds causes close to his heart and, to-date, has supported organizations such as  Greater Good Music  by donating over 500,000 meals-and-counting, to  Children Are People , the  Salvation Army  and  National Museum of African American Music .

There is no official pre-sale in the U.S. for this tour, so fans are advised to only purchase through verified fans. For more information, visit  www.morganwallen.com . Morgan Wallen Fan Club pre-sale for Australia and New Zealand shows begins on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

ABOUT MORGAN WALLEN

With over 12.3 billion on-demand streams, multi-platinum certifications and seven chart-toppers at Country radio, it’s no wonder  The New Yorker  dubbed Morgan Wallen “the most wanted man in country.” His critically-acclaimed, 4x platinum ACM Album of the Year  Dangerous: The Double Album  (Big Loud/Republic Records) — Wallen’s follow-up to his Double Platinum breakout  If I Know Me  — topped 2021’s all-genre  Billboard  200 Albums year-end chart with 4.1 million units sold earning him 2022  Billboard  Awards Country Male Artist top honor while continuing to notch historical chart status as  Billboard’s  longest running Top 10 album in history for a solo artist (eclipsing Adele’s  21  and Bruce Springsteen’s  Born In The USA ). Its success sparking an in-demand 55-show THE DANGEROUS TOUR in 2022 that kicked off this February and wrapped in early October, with the superstar’s first headlining stadium show at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX that saw Wallen shattering attendance records previously held by Elton John and Lady Gaga. The east Tennessean’s hit-packed set included “Up Down” (2017), “Whiskey Glasses” (2018), “Chasin’ You” (2019), “More Than My Hometown” (2020), “7 Summers” (2020, named one of  Time Magazine’s  Best Songs of the Year), “Sand In My Boots”

(2021), and his crossover “Wasted On You.” Wallen’s first solo release of 2022, the emotional ballad “Don’t Think Jesus,” timed to Good Friday in honor of its redemptive lyrics, earned a Top 10  Billboard  Hot 100 debut and landed atop  Billboard  Hot Country Songs chart making him the first artist to score three No.1 debuts on the chart (based on airplay, streaming and sales) since its inception. Follow up single “You Proof,” released in mid-May, became Wallen’s fastest chart climber to-date, reaching No. 1 after 14 weeks and remaining at No. 1 on  Billboard’s  Country Airplay chart for six non-consecutive weeks. Working outside the traditional Nashville mainframe with producer Joey Moi,  Hits Magazine  notes, “Wallen continually colors outside the lines,” adding, in turn “he’s connected to his fans in ways unprecedented for a country star.” Having already taken home New Artist of the Year in 2020, the CMA New Artist Winner also won AMAs fan-voted Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Country Song at 2022’s awards. The east Tennessee superstar and recent ACM Milestone Award recipient shares,  “Awards are awesome, but my true measure of success is my fans, who this year I got to see every single night out on the road and will continue to do so for many years to come.”  Thanks to nearly 1 million of his fans, $3 for every ticket sold during his 2022  Dangerous Tour  has raised nearly $3 million benefitting the  Morgan Wallen Foundation  which funds causes close to his heart.

ABOUT HARDY

HARDY has written 12 No. 1 singles since 2018, including his own double platinum No. 1 single “ONE BEER” feat. Lauren Alaina + Devin Dawson, and chart-topping Dierks Bentley + BRELAND collaboration, “Beers On Me.” He’s previously toured with Thomas Rhett, Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, and more, and will embark on his own SOLD-OUT headlining  Wall to Wall Tour  this winter, before launching the mockingbird &  THE CROW Tour  in 2023.

ABOUT ERNEST

Nashville’s most unpredictable hitmaker ERNEST is “The Charmer” ( MusicRow ), a triple threat talent and one of Music City’s on the rise artist/writers that’s changing the status quo. A 2022  Variety  Hitmaker, the chart-topping songwriter fuses influences ranging from Eminem to George Jones, creating a twist-heavy verse style that’s become his signature, proving its mettle and earning him seven #1 hits to date. The eccentric free spirit and 2022 CMA Triple Play Award winner released his debut full-length album  Flower Shops (The Album)  in March, named one of  Holler  and  The Tennessean ‘s best albums of 2022 and showcasing the more classically country side of his craft. Nashville’s “busiest – and most consistently successful – creative force” ( Tennessean ) just wrapped his first-ever sold-out headlining Sucker For Small Towns Tour, spanning college towns nationwide.

ABOUT BAILEY ZIMMERMAN

Establishing himself as one of music’s most exciting new voices, Bailey Zimmerman has arrived at the cusp of superstardom with the 2022 release of his debut EP,  Leave The Light On  – the biggest streaming country debut of all time and the most-streamed all-genre debut of the year. The EP arrived at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 9 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, affording the Louisville, Illinois, native to join Zach Bryan and Luke Combs as the only country artists in 2022 to earn more than one million streams on each of a project’s tracks during release week alone. In 2021 the twenty-two-year-old released his very first song. Now, in just one year’s time, Zimmerman touts nearly 1 billion global streams, has earned his first pair of Platinum singles, notched three entries on the Billboard Hot 100, and sold out his first headline tour within minutes of tickets going on-sale.

A young artist with the rasp of a seasoned rocker and the heart of a sensitive songwriter, Zimmerman strikes a sweet spot between timeless American country, rafter-rattling arena rock, and the kind of authentic storytelling that tugs at the heartstrings with a sense of humor and a whole lot of soul. With

more new music on the horizon, featuring the grit and gravel of his unmistakably Southern drawl, Zimmerman will continue to showcase the straightforward authenticity for which he is known and loved.

Morgan Wallen Announces The Dangerous Tour 2022

He'll hit 46 cities from February through September.

Morgan Wallen Announces The Dangerous Tour 2022

Controversial country star Morgan Wallen has announced has announced full scale tour after nearly a year out of the spotlight, plotting a months long run called The Dangerous Tour.

Kicking of February 3, 2022, in Evansville, Indiana, and hitting arenas in 46 cities through next September, the tour marks Wallen’s first official tour since the early 2021 backlash that forced a retreat from public life. At the time, his Dangerous: The Double Album was ruling the Billboard 200, and it continued to do so even after Wallen decided to cancel all 2021 tour dates and called on fans not to defend his use of a racial slur, captured on video by a neighbor’s doorbell camera.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Morgan Wallen (@morganwallen)

Despite the media firestorm, Dangerous made Wallen the most popular American artist for months after the incident, even as the Tennessee native stayed true to his word and kept out of public view. He only recently began to emerge, going on Good Morning America for a frank discussion with Michael Strahan; making a surprise appearance at a Luke Bryan concert in Nashville and hosting an acoustic benefit for Tennessee flood victims. But next year’s tour will mark a turning point.

More recently, Wallen has begun performing one-off shows and even broke a ticket-sales record at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, beating out the mark set by Garth Brooks by selling over 36,000 tickets in 90 minutes for three shows in December. He also recently performed in front of 31,000 fans in Mobile, Alabama, and The Dangerous Tour figures to host some of the biggest crowds in country music.

Joined by opening acts HARDY and Larry Fleet , Morgan Wallen’s The Dangerous Tour will make stops in cities from coast to coast, highlighted by appearances at Madison Square Garden in New York City; Bridgestone Arena in Nashville; and more, including a tour-wrapping show at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 24, 2022. All arena dates are set to go on sale beginning on Friday (11/19), with amphitheater shows – in addition to Ball Arena in Denver, CO, and STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA – on sale December 3.

Morgan Wallen Kicks Off His One Night at a Time 2024 World Tour in Indianapolis

The country star is set to tour across North American from now until the end of the summer with a handful of special guests

morgan wallen tour lafayette la

Matt Paskert

"Last Night" was one to remember for Morgan Wallen !

On Thursday, April 4, the country music star, 30, kicked off the 2024 leg of his massive One Night at a Time World Tour with a concert at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

To kick things off, Wallen made a grand entrance alongside sports analyst and former Indianapolis Colts player Pat McAfee, and Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton.

The singer-songwriter, who was dressed in all black and at one point donned an Indiana State University jersey, played 25 songs over the course of the night, including old hits like "Whiskey Glasses," "Chasin' You" and "Up Down," plus newer hits like "Last Night" and "One Thing at a Time."

Bailey Zimmerman, who opened for the star alongside Nate Smith and Lauren Watkins, even joined Wallen for "I Deserve a Drink," off his latest album One Thing at a Time .

After Wallen plays an additional One Night at a Time World Tour show in Indianapolis, he'll play in Oxford, Mississippi later in April and then head to California for a headlining performance at Stagecoach music festival at the end of the month.

In early May, the hitmaker's stadium tour resumes with three shows in Nashville, and then he'll continue performing in cities across North America for the remainder of the spring and much of the summer. The run of live shows will wrap up on Aug. 9 in Las Vegas, and along the way the "Cowgirls" singer will make stops in major markets like Philadelphia, the greater New York City area, Denver and more.

Wallen is making his live dates extra special this year by bringing along an A-list cast of rotating openers. Each show is set to include three guests, including Bryan Martin , Ella Langley , Jelly Roll,   Jon Pardi , Lainey Wilson , in addition to Smith, Watkins and Zimmerman.

2024 marks the second year of the One Night at a Time tour, named for his smash hit third studio album One Thing at a Time , which dropped in March 2023. The "Wasted on You" singer was out on the road for much of 2023, headlining shows from shortly after the album's release through the end of the year.

Amid last year's North American leg in May, Wallen had to postpone a number of dates due to vocal fold trauma , or "excessive and improper use of the voice," according to the National Institute of Health.

One month later, he was granted permission to resume his live show , sharing on Instagram that his doctor had "cleared" him to "talk and sing" again.

Wallen's 2023 album has been among the most successful releases of his career. The effort not only debuted atop the Billboard 200, it held the position for 19 consecutive weeks, making it the longest-running No. 1 country album of all time on the chart.

The record's track "Last Night" reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 — the hitmaker's first song to do so — and went on to garner a nomination for best country song at the 2024 Grammy Awards .

The trouble with Morgan Wallen: The rise, fall and rise again of a country superstar

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Morgan Wallen cannot seem to keep himself out of trouble.

The “bad boy of country music” was arrested on Monday (8 April) and charged with three felony counts after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a bar in Nashville , Tennessee .

After posting a $15,000 bail, he is due in court on 3 May.

The incident comes after Wallen spent years repairing his image after being filmed using a racial slur in 2021.

Despite a string of controversies, Wallen has remained one of the most commercially successful artists in the US.

Earlier this year, his third studio album, 2023’s One Thing at a Time , spent 19 weeks at the top of the Billboard 100 charts, making it the longest-running number one country album of all time.

Meanwhile, his single “Last Night” stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks, beating Harry Styles’s “As It Was” for the record of longest No 1 run for a non-collaboration.

Read on for a timeline of the artist’s biggest scandals.

May 2020: Wallen is arrested after being thrown out of Kid Rock’s steakhouse

Wallen was arrested and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct after getting kicked out of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville.

According to The Tennessean , Wallen was removed from the venue for “kicking glass items” before getting into verbal altercations on the street.

“Officers gave [Wallen] several opportunities to walk away with his friends, but he refused to walk away,” Wallen’s arrest warrant stated. Police called him “a danger to himself and the public”.

Wallen responded to the charges the next day, writing on Twitter that he and his friends “were horse-playing with each other”. “We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected,” he added. “Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class. Love y’all.”

Prosecutors later abandoned the charges.

October 2020: Wallen cut from SNL after breaking Covid rules

Days before his scheduled debut performance on Saturday Night Live , videos of Wallen surfaced on social media showing him kissing multiple women after a college football game in Alabama.

At the time, Alabama had a statewide mask and social distancing mandate in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“My actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams,” he said in an Instagram video after the incident.

Wallen’s SNL invite was rescinded; however, he appeared on the show months later as the musical guest and in a skit, in which Jason Bateman and Bowen Yang portrayed future versions of the singer and warned him not to allow videos of himself partying to circulate on social media.

February 2021: Wallen is filmed using a racial slur

Wallen was suspended from his record label after a video emerged of him using the n-word.

The video, reportedly filmed by neighbours annoyed at the late-night disturbance and then shared by  TMZ , showed Wallen coming home from a night out with friends when he yelled the racial slur at a friend twice.

In a five-minute apology video shared a week after the incident, Wallen said he was on “hour 72 of a 72-hour bender” when he’d used the slur.

Revealing he’d been sober since the video was shared, he said he had accepted “some invitations from some amazing Black organisations and executives and leaders to engage in some very real and honest conversations”.

“Who knows if I’ll be able to live down all the mistakes I’ve made, but I’m certainly going to try,” he said.

He was temporarily suspended from industry ceremonies  including the Billboard Music Awards  and the  Academy of Country Music Awards , but made a return to both the following year.

In his first interview in two years, Wallen told Billboard in 2023: “There’s no excuse. I’ve never made an excuse. I never will make an excuse.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people, heard stories [about] things that I would have never thought about because I wasn’t the one going through it. And I think, for me, in my heart I was never that guy that people were portraying me to be, so there was a little bit of like, ‘Damn, I’m kind of actually mad about this a little bit because I know I shouldn’t have said this, but I’m really not that guy.’ I put myself in just such a s*** spot, you know? Like, ‘You really messed up here, guy.’ If I was that guy, then I wouldn’t have cared. I wouldn’t have apologized. I wouldn’t have done any of that if I really was that guy that people were saying about me.”

April 2024: Wallen is arrested on felony charges in Nashville

Wallen was charged with three felony counts and one misdemeanour  after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a six-storey bar.

Two police officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the chair landed just a few feet from them.

Officers reviewed the bar’s security footage, which reportedly showed Wallen lunging and then throwing the object over the roof.

Hours later, the “Last Night” singer posted bond for $15,250 and was released from Davidson County jail. He is due on court on 3 May, at which time the star will be playing at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium as part of his One Night at a Time tour.

The Independent  has reached out to the Nashville Police Department and Wallen’s attorney for comment.

MORGAN WALLEN’S DANGEROUS TOUR BLOWS INTO BRIDGESTONE

Morgan Wallen Joined by Ronnie Dunn, Jimmie Allen + More for Nashville Show -

Jimmie Allen, Icon Ronnie Dunn and ERNEST Among Night 1 Surprises

Larry Fleet, HARDY Special Guest in Set Illustrating Roots and Respect

NASHVILLE, Tenn.– Clad in a brown corduroy pearl-snap shirt, jeans and Tecovas–Morgan Wallen took to the stage at exactly 9:02 pm, his usual stage-time on his 57-show Dangerous Tour trek, a sign of the singer/songwriter’s anticipation for every opportunity he gets to perform live. Rising from the stage seated at his Nord Grand piano performing his most-recent No. 1 “Sand In My Boots,” the East Tennessean showed how much music moves him as he kicked off the first-of-26-songs on night one-of-three at the Music City Arena

Introducing himself after “Up Down,” Wallen, taking it all in, shared, “I really appreciate you being here tonight. I got a lot of people I care about here, a lot of people who believed in me for a long time are in the building tonight… this is really special to me.”

The ACM Album of the Year award-winner worked the 2,400-sq. foot stage, jockeying between his Taylor and Gibson in hand, delivering “Silverado for Sale,” “7 Summers,” “Country A$$ Shit” and “Wonderin’ Bout The Wind,” lamenting about the day he wrote the latter on his back porch, watching the day go from beautiful to ugly. I don’t know where the hell it comes from /Got no idea where it goes when it leaves / And when it’s here, it’s here, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

“It feels like the World Series to me tonight,” the baseball player/musician mused before “Chasin’ You.”

ERNEST surprised the crowd just over halfway through the show as dual flower-adorned mic stands appeared center-stage, taking turns with Wallen on their Top 25-and-climbing “Flower Shops,” ending the song with the pair giving their arrangements away to fans in the pit.

Tour opener Larry Fleet then joined to perform his 2020 debut “Where I Find God” which was fitting as the first-of-three songs to take the crowd to church. Country icon Ronnie Dunn then surprised the crowd joining Wallen midway through on “Talkin’ Tennessee” from Wallen’s debut album If I Know Me. Wallen, pausing, then asked, “Wanna sing another one, Ronnie?” before duetting on the 1992 hit “Neon Moon.”

HARDY re-emerged on his Chase McGill and Wallen co-written “He Went To Jared,” where the friends and frequent collaborators jubilantly high-fived and clasped hands on stage, signifying a true celebration of being in this moment together.

Directly after “More Than My Hometown,” Wallen introduced his final surprise guest at Bridgestone Arena, “Down Home” singer/songwriter Jimmie Allen who walked on stage, mic in hand joining in, Yeah it’s, Yes Sir, no ma’am, y’all come back, now / Fighting words if you run my last name down / I ain’t ashamed, matter of fact, I’m damn proud / Of the way I talk, y’all. With a combined hometown population of 4,379, the friends relished performing the ode to small town life in front of a crowd more than four times that size.

There were heroes, songwriters, friends and crowd singalongs in addition to intimate moments like on “Cover Me Up” where band member Chris Gladden softly piano-introed Wallen while the at-capacity crowd met them in the moment with their phones up and lights on.

“Thanks Nashville!” Wallen enthused, taking it all in.

Closing the show with an encore of “Whiskey Glasses,” the crowd was just as The New Yorker described following its opening shows at Madison Square Garden, “not just a highly entertaining show but a tribal experience.”

Now they’ve got bad blood.

Morgan Wallen fans spitefully booed Taylor Swift Friday night after the country singer made a joke about the pop star at his concert in Indianapolis.

“This is the single most attended concert in the history of this building, and we’re the first to do it for two nights in a row,” Wallen, 30, said while performing a One Night at a Time Tour show at Lucas Oil Stadium, per a fan video .

“I’m going to say that until Taylor Swift comes to town,” he quipped.

While some fans roared for Swift, 34, an overwhelming majority of the audience started boo’ing the “Cruel Summer” songstress.

“We ain’t got to boo, we ain’t got to boo,” Wallen said in response to the reaction from fans, before thanking them for their loyalty.

“I appreciate that. I know y’all got my back, though.”

Wallen’s joke didn’t appear to sit well with Swifties, who rushed to social media to defend the “Lover” hitmaker.

“Taylor Swift has more class than you and your fans,” one person tweeted via X . “She would never insult you, even though you deserve to be. Drop Taylor’s name to get your name out there.”

“Morgan Wallen fans booed Taylor Swift last night in Indy. They will begin to cough in 3 days,” another sarcastically added.

“morgan wallen (sic) fans booing taylor swift?? what did she do to them,” a third chimed in.

While Wallen made history at the Indianapolis venue, Swift has broken several records of her own this past year.

In April 2024, the “Bad Blood” singer was named a billionaire  by Forbes with a $1.1 billion net worth .

She even boosted the US economy with her Eras Tour – which kicked off in March 2023 – as several fans rushed to purchase concert tickets, plane tickets and hotels to see her perform across the country.

Taylor Swift

Swift’s latest tour landed the title of the highest-grossing tour of all time, as it brought in more than $1 billion, according to a December 2023 report from Rolling Stone .

The 14-time Grammy winner was also declared to have more No.1 albums than any woman in history in June 2023.

Aside from her professional life, Swift has remained in the headlines due to her romance with Travis Kelce . She and the NFL star, also 34, have been dating since September 2023.

Morgan Wallen's ex KT Smith speaks out after his arrest, hopes he returns 'to the good path that he was on'

It's been an up-and-down week for wallen, who on tuesday, scored six acm nominations..

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Morgan Wallen is keeping a low profile after his arrest on Sunday night. The country star has yet to address the incident, but that hasn't stopped tabloids from speculating about why he threw a chair off the sixth story of a building in Nashville. It's been an up-and-down week for the 30-year-old entertainer — here's what's going on.

Wallen's ex speaks out after reports suggest singer's arrest had to do with her elopement

KT Smith, who shares a 3-year-old son with The Voice alum, issued a statement saying she hopes Wallen returns "to the good path that he was on" prior to the incident. She also denied that her ex-fiancé tossed a chair because he was upset over her surprise nuptials, which happened just days earlier, as some media outlets have suggested. (A source close to the situation also denied to Yahoo Entertainment that Wallen's outburst had anything to do with the wedding.)

"Although it may seem like it correlates because of the timeline, I have no evidence to believe the incident had anything to do with the recent marriage announcement," Smith told the Daily Beast in a statement.

"I cannot speak on Morgan's behalf, but I do pray the very best for him. Praying that this was just a slip up and that he will return to the good path that he was on prior," she said. In 2021, Wallen checked himself into rehab after a video was leaked of him using a racial slur.

Wallen and Smith, a 29-year-old influencer, started dating in 2016 and got engaged months later. They ended their relationship in 2019, months before welcoming their son, Indigo, in July 2020.

Smith announced her engagement to Luke Scornavacco on March 29. Days later, they revealed that they had tied the knot .

Wallen has not issued a statement on April 7 arrest

The "Wasted on You" singer was charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct. When he threw a chair from the rooftop of Chief's bar (owned by fellow country singer Eric Church), it landed in front of two police officers outside. Wallen was released on $15,250 bond and has yet to speak publicly about the incident on social media or through his representatives.

Church's bar took the opportunity to poke fun at the situation.

Will Wallen's tour be affected?

The singer is set to perform next at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Ole Miss on April 20. The university's athletic director, Keith Carter, told SuperTalk Mississippi Media the show has not been canceled, but it's something they are monitoring.

"We are aware of the situation, but no changes have been relayed to us yet," Carter told the radio station. "We are obviously monitoring everything very closely."

A rep for Wallen told the outlet there will be no change in Wallen's touring schedule at this time. The singer is set to headline the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif., at the end of the month.

Wallen scores second-most ACM nominations

One day after Wallen's arrest captured headlines, the country star received some better news. He scored six nominations for the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards, trailing only Luke Combs's eight nominations. Wallen is a contender in the top category: entertainer of the year. It's been a big turnaround considering that three years ago he was declared ineligible due to the racial slur scandal.

An image shared on Instagram by @itsscoopnashville showed Wallen reportedly shouting in the back of a cop car outside the Chief's joint.

"I work there and the chair damn near took out 2 cops. He threw it from the 6th floor," one Instagram user who claims to work at the bar commented.

Wallen's bond was set at $15,250 and footage shared on X , formerly Twitter , showed the star being escorted into a car following his release from the Metro Nashville Jail.

"At 10:53 pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities," his attorney told local Fox affiliate WZTV in a statement.

The 11-time 2023 Billboard Music Awards winner is due in court on May 3, according to the Davidson County Criminal Court website.

Wallen will return to Nashville on May 2 and 3 anyway as he is scheduled to perform at the Nissan Stadium as part of his One Night At A Time tour.

The U.S. Sun has contacted Wallen's attorney for comment.

Wallen rose to stardom after he appeared in the sixth season of The Voice , where he was eliminated during the playoffs.

He then relocated to Nashville where he briefly started a band before signing to Panacea Records in 2015 and releasing his first single.

The singer is now with Big Loud Records, where he has had huge success in the Hot Country Songs Billboard chart.

Earlier this year, he signed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music.

CONTROVERSY

However, despite his success, the star has had his fair share of controversies.

In 2021, TMZ released a video from January 31 in which Wallen used a racial slur toward one of his friends after a night out, for which he later issued a statement and apologized.

Numerous streaming platforms and radio stations temporarily stopped playing his music and Big Loud indefinitely suspended its recording contract with him.

The following month, the singer filmed a video apologizing again and asking his fans not to defend his actions.

In April 2021, he donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition and later said on Good Morning America that "he was wrong" and "he was around some of his friends, and they say dumb stuff together."

He added that he did not "mean it in any derogatory manner at all."

"It’s one of my best friends — he was, we were all clearly drunk," Wallen said.

Following the incident at Chief's bar, fans have started begging for change.

"Hope Wallen learns from this incident. Reckless actions have consequences. Let's all strive for responsible behavior," one X user wrote .

"Seriously! @MorganWallen do better! You have a child for the love of God!" another said .
