You know, maybe Kemu would be able to do the incantation in the snow if he wore something that covered his stomach . Seriously though, I'm really ambivalent on Kamui. On one hand, it's not as fun to look at as the other areas (for obvious reasons), and Wep'keer in particular drives me nuts because since it's a giant swirl the map is completely useless so I get lost all the time and (spoilered, though it's not really a spoiler)  FUCK YOSHPET  . But on the other hand, it's where the plot really starts to come together, especially if you keep up with the info scrolls, and has the weirdest yet coolest boss fight (with the best music). I know you'll probably end up covering this later on, but is Kutone from a Japanese myth?

Each year, on the night of the festival, the evil serpent Orochi appears and a white-plumed arrow strikes the roof of a young maiden. Orochi consumers the girl's soul, ensuring his vitality. This continued for 100 years until Nagi slayed the fearsome serpent. Even today, the villagers recount their sorrowful past: "The full moon on the 15th night users in the 8-headed serpent. The sacrifice is chosen by way of an arrow decorated in white." Nagi engaged the beast in battle for the sake of his beloved Nami. Until his heroic act put the tradition to rest, 99 girls had been slain. This is a fact we must not forget.

Agata Forest (1st Visit)

Head down the hill along the narrow path. You will probably bump into a few Demon Scrolls on the way, although there are no new enemies. At the bottom, turn left down the steps and go into a cave with a house and an Origin Mirror.

Save your game and go inside the house. Open the chest inside to receive a Stray Bead (9/99).

The house belongs to Madame Fawn who's a Bone Reader. If you're rolling in coin, you can pay to have your fortune read.

If you do have your fortune read, you will have something in the second row of your Log Book tab. This should prevent you from reaching the end of the game wondering that row is for!

Leave the house and go back out of the cave. Look for a narrow ledge running around the edge of the lake.

Follow the ledge round to a small cave opening and go inside. Follow the path to the end and use a Cherry Bomb to blow a hole in the wall. You'll find the withered Guardian Sapling in the chamber beyond.

Use Bloom on it to restore it to its former glory and remove the curse from the land, earning you 30 Praise. A chest containing some Devout Beads will appear in front of the tree. This is a new weapon which allows you to specify one as a main weapon and the other as a sub weapon.

You may want to keep Divine Retribution as your main weapon for the time being since it makes it much easier to acquire Demon Fangs.

Feed the hares for another 6 Praise and then go round the back of the tree and dig up a wilted clover.

Akata Forest (Restored)

Leave the cave and jump onto one of the islands in the lake for a scene with someone named Tao Master Waka.

For some reason, he decides to fight you. Try to keep your distance (the attack of the Devout Beads has decent range) and dodge if he gets close. If he throws a dagger, use Power Slash to send it back his way.

This will stun him for a while, giving you an opportunity to put the hurt on him. When you get his healthbar close to zero, he will acknowledge Amaterasu's divine power.

After some exposition, you will receive the combat results and the Let's Rock, Baby! trophy. Waka will leave you with a cryptic prophecy - get used to these.

Jump onto the neighbouring island where you'll see a Giant Bud engulfing a treasure.

Use Bloom on it and you will receive some Glass Beads . Jump across to the next island where you'll find two more Giant Buds containing a Holy Bone S and a Lacquerware Set . Other islands yield more goodies: a Coral Fragment and Steel Fist Sake .

Cross over to the southernmost island where you'll find a boy fishing. Use Sunrise to make it daytime if needs be and speak to the boy whose name is Kokari.

Talk to him twice and he will tell you that his dog, Ume, is missing in the Tsuta Ruins and he's dropped the key in the water. When he starts crying, tackle him. You will be given a fishing tutorial. Follow the instructions to land a fish. When the button prompt appears, you need to power slash the fish itself. Make sure you slash along the length of the body for the game to register it.

The fish you caught will appear in your Fish Tome. There is a trophy, No More Fish in the Sea , awarded for completing it. Catch a couple more fish and Kokari will hook a Giant Salmon which spits up the Ruins Key.

Kokari will grab the key off you but won't actually go anywhere. Come back later when you're ready to explore the ruins. For the time being, there are a few things to do in the Forest first.

Head back to Madame Fawn's. You'll find a dig point on one of the islands on the way.

Dig to uncover a chest containing some Steel Soul Sake .

When you get to the shore, you will find a Giant Bud containing a Traveler's Charm and a dig point and a dig point that yields a Dragonfly Bead .

Feed the hares that have taken up residence next to Madame Fawn's house, go up the steps outside her cave and turn left. Head along the path for a short distance and you'll come across a merchant.

Buy two lots of Gold Dust and apply one lot to your new weapon. You can sell him any fish you caught and any treasures you've picked up.

If you head right up the hill, you will come across a group of Deer next to a large tree. Feed them some herbs for 12 Praise. You can use your Lily Pad power to get to a cave behind the waterfall.

If you restore the cursed ground, you will find a Giant Bud which yields an Incense Burner . Back outside is a tunnel that takes you back to Shinshu Field if you want to pick up the Rosary skill from the Dojo.

Ignore it for the moment and head back down the hill. A short distance from the merchant is Kokari's father, Karude. You can speak to him three times, but he doesn't have anything interesting to say. There is a Devil Gate right at the bottom of the hill containing 2 Dead Fish and a Yellow Imp. Destroy it for 15 Praise and feed the monkeys that appear for 9 more. There's also a Giant Bud that yields an Inkfinity Stone .

Follow the path southeast around the edge of the lake and you will come to a path with a fence either side. There's a flock of sparrows here that you can feed. Don't bother going up the path since the bridge at the end has been washed away.

Just to the left of the path is a chest containing the Battle Tips travel guide.

Speak to the merchant next to the chest. This is Kiba who trades Demon Fangs for goodies.

The items in pink are Holy Artifacts.

If you have the fangs, the Golden Lucky Cat means that you don't have to pick up items that drop from defeated enemies. The Wood Mat is useful if you find yourself taking a lot of damage. The Peace Bell will eventually be useful when you no longer want to have to bother with Demon Scrolls.

Continue down the hill to find two groups of deer to feed. You'll find Susano further down, but he doesn't have anything interesting to say. There's a Devil Gate further along containing two Red Imps and a Yellow Imp. Feed the sparrows that appear after it's destroyed.

There is another group of deer to feed by the entrance to Tsuta Ruins. There is a chest next to the locked entrance containing the Enhancing Weapons travel guide.

Just past the entrance is another group of deer to feed. Continue around the edge of the lake and climb onto a ledge to your right. Head to the end where you'll find a dig point which yields a Stray Bead (10/99).

There's a wall that you can break down using Cherry Bomb which reveals a Cat Statue. Back on the main path you'll find a patch of cursed ground. Purify it and feed the hares that appear. There are two Giant Buds by the shore which yield an Exorcism Slip S and a Wooden Bear .

The building nearby is Karude's house. There's some food inside if your Astral Pouch needs filling. Behind the house is a flock of nightingales that you can feed seeds to. There is also a dig point that yields a Stray Bead (11/99).

You are back near Kokari so swim across to his island. Tackle him so that he drops the Ruins Key and pick it up (triangle button). Avoid the boy and bring the key to the Tsuta Ruins entrance.

When the door opens, go through to the next area.

Tsuta Ruins

There is an Origin Mirror immediately to your left and to the right is a chest containing the Enhancing Divinity travel guide along with a Giant Bud which yields a Traveler's Charm .

Continue right and purify a corrupt tree (use Power Slash to send the fruit back and then Bloom). Use Bloom on the Giant Bud to obtain Steel Soul Sake . At the end of the path is a chest containing a Vase .

Head through the door and purify the two corrupt trees in the chamber beyond. The second tree is on an island. You can use Lily Pad and wall jump to get onto the island and uncover a wilted clover.

Continue through the next door. There's another Giant Bud which yields an Incense Burner . Use double jump to get to the top of the wall. Turn around and you'll be able to leap onto a walkway at the end of which is a wilted clover.

Head back to the main path and use Lily Pad and wall jump to get across to the other side and up to the top.

Go through the cave entrance and claim the Steel Fist Sake from the Giant Bud. Make a note of the round rock and continue through to the next cave to encounter a new enemy type, the Bud Ogre. Hit it until it falls over and then use Bloom to expose its core. Whack the exposed core until its dead and use Bloom on it to obtain a Demon Fang. If it hurls fruit, you can also use Power Slash to reflect the attack.

The round rock becomes a see-through sphere that you can roll down the slope. Use it to activate a switch that opens a door.

Go through and you will be attacked by two Bud Ogres. Examine the log that appears in their place. Issun suggests that some sunshine would make the mushrooms bigger. Look up to spot a patch of sky to use your Sunrise ability on. This will cause the mushrooms to form a staircase that you can use to get to the upper level.

Before going up, look to see some logs blocking the entrance to a side cavern. Use Power Slash to get past them where you'll find a Giant Bud which yields a Vengeance Slip .

Return to the main cavern and use the mushrooms to get to the upper level. At the top is a weakened wall that you can blow open using Cherry Bomb. Head dow the newly opened path and through a couple of doors. You will find yourself on a long, elevated pathway.

A short distance along, Issun will sneeze, causing the pathway to collapse behind you. Hold the square button down as you run for extra speed and you should make it. Eventually you'll arrive at an apparent dead end.

This a Lockjaw and you need a special item to get past it. Use the platforms on the right to get back down to the lower level. The doorway at the bottom is blocked by a creature called Blockhead.

Tackle him (square button) and his body will flash at two points. Use your brush to draw at the same locations and Blockhead will die a warrior's death.

The entrance that Blockhead was blocking takes you back to the Tsuta Ruins entrance. There's a corrupted tree to purify after which you can save your game if you like. Head back to the cavern you just left and retrieve the Exorcising Arrow from the central platform.

Use Bite to carry it and then double jump back up the platforms that you cam down. Use the poles to get up to the higher platforms. When you get to the third platform, break the statues and use Cherry Bomb to blow a hole in the wall.

Go through and use Bloom on the Giant Bud to obtain a Stray Bead (12/99).

When you reach the top, the Exorcising Arrow will open the way forwards.

Go through the newly opened door. There's a Demon Scroll wandering around after which you can claim an Exorcism Slip S from the Giant Bud. Continue through the next doorway to find a collapsed bridge that you can restore using Rejuvenation. Go across and you'll find yourself in a chamber with an Origin Mirror.

There are a couple of ledges at the back of the room that you can jump up to find a wilted clover. Afterwards, climb back down and go through the other door which will close behind you. Eliminate the three Devil Gates. You will earn a total of 15 Praise for doing so and a mushroom log will appear on the central platform. Grab the Holy Bone S and a Lacquerware Set from two Giant Buds.

Use Sunrise to make the mushrooms grow and use them to get to the upper pathway. Run around to where five pots are pouring poison into the waterfall and tackle each one in turn.

Destroy them all and the waterfall will wash away the deadly water from below, earning you 20 Praise. Issun suggests that you ride the waterfall down but before doing so, make sure you grab the Tsuta Ruins Map from the chest.

Ride the waterfall down one level. When you reach the bottom, turn around and use Cherry Bomb on the cracked wall behind the waterfall.

This will reveal a chamber with a Giant Bud which yields a Stray Bead (13/99).

Ride the waterfall down again to the entrance level. There are a couple of things you can do now that you can do now that you couldn't do earlier: there is a wilted clover on one of the two islets in the west and Giant Bud which yields an Exorcism Slip S .

When you're ready to proceed, hop across the newly created islets to the central statue and go inside.

You'll find three patches of cursed ground to purify. earning you a total of 30 Praise and causing the Konohana Blossom at the centre to bloom. Afterwards, fill in a constellation puzzle to summon Tsutagami who will bestow the Vine power on Ammy.

Draw a line from Konohana Blossom to Ammy pull her up and unlock the Tsutagami trophy.

Look up to see another Konohana Blossom and pull yourself up. Repeat until you get to a ledge with a door. Go through and you'll be on the outside of the giant statue in the dungeon entrance. Make your way around the path and when you get to the end, look for a Konohana Blossom to pull yourself onto.

Keep going until you are able to get on top of the statue. Use your Vine ability to join the four Konohana Blossoms to the hooks which will lift the top off the statue.

Jump down through the hole to reach a chamber with an Origin Mirror and a bunch of statues for you to destroy. If you step on the central area, you will reappear back on top of the statue. This refreshes the statues which means that you can farm currency here if you're so inclined.

Go through the door and down the long passage. You'll emerge in a room with two chests containing the Godhood Tips travel guide and a Holy Bone S .

Go up the stairs and through the door at the top. Confirm your readiness and go through. Equip your Rosary as your main weapon and head through the Golden Gate for a boss battle against the Spider Queen.

This isn't a difficult battle. You need to keep mobile so that the Spider Queen cannot target you with any of her attacks. When the Konahuna Blossoms open up, use Vine to attach lines to two of the hooks at the back of the Queen's abdomen.

This will cause the body of the queen to open up allowing you to get inside and attack her eyes to damage her. When her body starts shaking, jump back out before she closes up again so that you don't take damage.

You will receive ¥5000 and a new weapon, Snarling Beast . You will also unlock the Big Ol' Flower trophy and find Kikaro's missing dog, Ume.

Use Vine to get to the upper level. Go south initially to find a wilted clover. Turn around and follow the path to find a Giant Bud which yields a Stray Bead (14/99).

Return to the entrance area and go round and to the other door where you defeated Blockhead earlier. Go through and climb up poles to get to the upper level. Look across and you will see a Konohana Blossom.

Use Vine to pull yourself across and you can access a chamber with two wilted clovers and a Giant Bud which yields a Golden Peach .

This is a consumable that you can use to fill the Astral Pouch.

You're done with the Tsuta Ruins so return to the Agata Forest.

Agata Forest (2nd Visit)

Head to the shore near Madame Fawn's cave and look up to spot a Konohana Blossom.

Use Vine to get up there and retrieve the Stray Bead (15/99).

Look across from your vantage point and you will spot another Konohana Blossom. Use it to get across and claim a Bull Horn .

Back on ground level, head up the slope to Hitoshio Spring. Look up to see another Konohana Blossom.

Use it to get on top of the waterfall and then use Power Slash to open the chest containing a Stray Bead (16/99).

Kamiki Village - Stray Bead #3 You may want to use the nearby tunnel to return to Shinshu Field and Kimiki Village. If you look to the left of the waterfall in the centre of the village, you'll see a Konohana Blossom. Use it to get to an upper platform where you will find a wilted clover. Look up to see another blossom which you can use to access an upper path. Walk south a short distance to find a chest containing a Stray Bead (17/99). Jump back down and make your way to Sakuya's tree where you'll find a fruit containing a Crystal . There are two people, Camellia and Camille, standing by it. Go around the torii gate. Speak to them and tackle Camille so that she realises she's not dreaming, earning you 10 Praise. Return to Agata Forest.

Make your way back to the Fang merchant and head down the path to his right to where Kokari and Ume are standing by the destroyed bridge. Unfortunately, Susano will destroy Kokari's efforts at repair. You will find yourself rushing down the river on Susano's log. Your goal is to connect six Konohana Blossoms to the hooks on either side of the log within two minutes. You need to keep an eye out for them because the blossoms go past very quickly. When you spot one, hit R1 to pause time and draw a line from the blossom to the hook, using the green smoke effect as a guide.

When you secure all six, the log will come to halt just in time.

Luckily, the rebound on the vines will also create a new bridge back to Agata Forest. You will earn 10 Praise and can feed Ume some meat for another 10. Cross the makeshift bridge and feed the hares on the other side. Open the chest for the Ink Bullet Tips travel guide.

When you're ready to proceed, head through the entrance to Taka Pass.
