Great Blue Angels/ Dolphin tour. Had a great time, great crew and experience. Highly recommend! Allison and Riley 👍 great crew!!!

This was our first time on one of the cruises! Took 3 girls 8,10,12 and they had an absolute blast and so did I! Lots of dolphins and staff was fun and knowledgeable highly recommend! And we will definitely be doing this again when we visit the area

It was getting late in the day. We had run low on hope, it wasn’t looking like we would complete our voyage with a single dolphin sighting. Captain Steve and Aly, heads on a swivel assured us that we would locate our quarry. Without a shred of doubt, Captain said, “Don’t worry. We’ll find them. We always do.” Then it happened. With a commanding voice, our Captain called out for all to hear, “Dolphins Port side!” We had put our faith in the right man. His masterful command of the vessel brought us within centimeters of the dolphins. Our trip saved! Truly a man of which legends are made. Thank you Captain. God speed

We had the BEST U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Frisky Mermaid Dolphin Tours & Boat Rentals tour this morning ! I swear my inner child came out . The boat crew couldn’t of been any better and so incredibly welcoming . Coming back from Ft Pickens yesterday I saw this boat in the water and commented on what a cool boat it was not knowing it was a tour boat . The Blue Angels are sooooo incredibly amazing , talented and really pull on your heart strings just watching them . I teared up . When America is in such a mess right now , you look up to the sky and listen to those jets fly and suddenly you’re frozen in time and all your soul wants to say is thank you and AMEN today seriously just touched a part of me that I’ve been missin so incredibly bad MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA

MUSEUM FAQ PAGE

AIRSHOW TIPS

1. Increase your fluid intake the day before the practice air show and continue to drink cool, nonalcoholic beverages while on the flight line. 2. Avoid very cold drinks, because they can cause stomach cramps. Remember to keep cool and use common sense. 3. Choose lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing. In the hot sun, a wide-brimmed hat will provide shade and keep the head cool. 4. Be sure to apply sunscreen 30 minutes prior to going out and continue to reapply according to the package directions. Sunburn affects your body’s ability to cool itself and causes a loss of body fluids. It also causes pain and damages the skin. 5. Get medical assistance as soon as possible by alerting staff members on the Flight Line.

SAFETY NOTES

Each year the National Naval Aviation Museum and Naval Aviation Museum Foundation are pleased to provide visitors the opportunity to view Blue Angel practice air shows from a viewing area on the Flight Line behind the Museum. The following information is important for you to review before attending one of these practices for it will prepare you for the conditions that you will experience.

As the climate changes, extreme heat events/heat waves are expected to increase in frequency, length, and severity. This will result in increased health risk for people spending hours on the flight line waiting for the show to begin and viewing the demonstration. Children and older adults, those who are chronically ill, and others are more vulnerable to heat related illnesses. Heat sensitivity increases for those who are not regularly exposed to hot and humid environments like those in the Florida panhandle.

Blue Angels Practice Cruises

The history of the blue angels.

The Blue Angels are famous across the globe for their amazing feats of precision flying demonstrations. The squadron has been in existence since the end of World War II and has utilized many different kinds of aircraft over the years. Today, the Blue Angels use the highly sophisticated F/A-18 Hornet Jets and are flown by some of the finest pilots in both the Navy and Marine Corps. Many thousands of people attend their shows and practice sessions on an annual basis.

The Blue Angels Elite Team Members

All of the Blue Angels’ pilots and support team come from the regular ranks of the Navy and Marine Corps. Angel pilots will usually fly with the team for about 3 years. Team assignments throughout the organization are based on need, military experience and skill level.

Blue Angel Air Shows

Normally, the Blue Angels’ show schedule allows for approximately 61 show appearances, spread out among 32 locations across the country. The season begins in the middle of March and will end in early November. The Angels perform at many different kinds of venues, including military and civilian airfields, as well as in major cities, such as Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Oklahoma City. The team also makes an annual flyover appearance at the graduation of the U.S. Naval Academy. If the season schedule allows, the Angels will even travel up north to see our Canadian neighbors for a few shows.

Pensacola – The Perfect Place To See The Blue Angels

Even though the Blue Angels travel all over the nation, they come back home to Naval Air Station Pensacola ( NAS Pensacola ) for practice sessions.

If you are visiting Pensacola, seeing the Blue Angels is one of the best  things to do in Pensacola . Seeing the Blue Angels practice will provide your family many years of lasting memories. Autograph & Picture Sessions at Naval Air Station Museum

After conducting amazing practice drills, the team will heads to the National Naval Aviation Museum to take pictures with fans and sign autographs after the Wednesday practice session. It is an incredible experience for aviation enthusiasts of all ages to get up close and personal with the incredible Blue Angel pilots and their support crew.

Blue Angels cruise

Since we couldn't go to the base to watch the Blue Angels practice I was looking for an alternative. It came down to Fort Pickens and the cruise. Since we were staying downtown the cruise was close to our hotel and sounded fun. It was a great decision. There was plenty of space for everyone on the boat. It was a great way to watch the practice right overhead. It was a great ride and an amazing show. The Blue Angels are fantastic and the cruise was fun also.

Hi there! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your cruise with us. It's always a great day when you get to see the Blues! We hope to have you aboard again with us soon!

Went in the morning, stopped off at Fort Pickens, enjoyed the Fort, went for little free bus tour, very informative, saw Blue Angel practicing!! Went for the rest of the cruise, enjoyed it that much, went again later on the evening to see sun set, great way to see Pensacola and taking it at a leisurely pace.

Always a treat to see the Blue Angels! Sounds like a great day. Thanks for cruising with us!

Loved being able to relax and view the water with my 4 kids. They loved being able to move around the boat and see the sights. Crew was really friendly and helpful, pointing out dolphins when they were out. We chose to stay on the boat and not get off at the stops, but you can get off at Fort Pickens and Pensacola Beach. The lower level is even air conditioned if it gets too hot for you. Loved it and would go again.

We are happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your time with us. To see dolphin is always an added bonus!

This was recommended by a nice lady at the visitor’s center. Just $20 to go from downtown to Fort Pickens to Pensacola Beach. We just rode round trip, but it is a jump off and jump off of one wished. The captain was having his birthday and his entire family was onboard! Lots of fun and very friendly staff!

pensacola bay cruises blue angels

Thanks for cruising with us! Sounds like a great day! We hope to see you onboard again soon.

Very relaxing. We spotted quite a few dolphins with the help of the crew. I wish the captain/crew was more interactive or they played pre- recorded informational audios about the area and mentioned historical facts about the fort Pickens. I know that they are not tour guides but they could try to add more informative audio instead of Passengers listening to Kasey Casem on American top 40.

Thank you for cruising with us. Typically during the summer months, the National Park Service has a park ranger on board to offer an interpretation of the local history, wildlife, and information on conservation efforts. Due to COVID, the NPS does not have the resources at this time for park rangers to be on board. We look forward to the day they return!

The cruise was relaxing and a fun way to go sight seeing in Pensacola Bay. The staff was kind and the captain stepped out to greet passengers before the cruise began.

Glad to hear you enjoyed a relaxing day out on Pensacola Bay!
