President Murmu on two-day visit to Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Nov 26 (PTI) President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Odisha on Sunday on a two-day visit, during which she will attend a function in Paradip, officials said. This will be her second visit to Odisha this month as she spent three days in her home state from November 20. The president will arrive at the Bhubaneswar airport at 6 pm, and spend the night at Raj Bhavan. Murmu will grace the 'Boita Bandana' (worshipping boats) ceremony to be organised by the Paradip Port authority on Monday. 'Boita Bandana' is held annually across Odisha celebrating the state’s ancient maritime glory. Murmu will virtually inaugurate a multi-modal logistics park and lay the foundation stone for a new reservoir and water treatment plant for the port township, besides a next-gen vessel traffic management and information system. The president is likely to interact with members of the fishing community during her visit to Paradip. She will leave Bhubaneswar on Monday evening.

BHUBANESWAR: President Droupadi Murmu was given a rousing welcome on Thursday as she arrived at the Bhubaneswar airport on a two-day visit to Odisha, her native state.Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik received her at the airport.She was accorded a guard of honour by the state government on her arrival.
President Droupadi Murmu was given a rousing welcome on Thursday as she arrived at the Bhubaneswar airport on a two-day visit to Odisha, her native state.
She was accorded a guard of honour by the state government on her arrival. Soon after, she left for Puri on an Air Force helicopter.
She will be visiting the famed Jagannath Temple in the seaside town. On her return to Bhubaneswar, a reception will be hosted in her honour at the Raj Bhavan.
Murmu, who hails from Mayurbhanj district of the state, is also scheduled to visit her school in Bhubaneswar, besides attending other programmes on Friday.
This is Murmu's first visit to the state after becoming the president in July.
The state government has already declared a half-day holiday for all offices, schools and colleges in the state capital region on the occasion of Murmu's visit.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Puri and Bhubaneswar for the president's tour.

She will also virtually inaugurate a Multi Model Logistic Park as well as lay the foundation stones for new reservoir and water treatment plant for Port Township and next-gen vessel traffic management and information system.
She is also likely to interact with the members of the fishing community during this visit to Paradip.

Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by the First Lady Savita Kovind arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar in a special plane of Indian Air Force (IAF) today evening.
The President and the First Lady were welcomed by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Odisha Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra and DGP Abhya at the airport.

New Delhi: 19/11/23:The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha and Andhra Pradesh from November 20 to 22, 2023. On November 20, the President will grace the inaugural session of the 36 th Annual Conference and Literary Festival of All India Santali Writers’ Association at Baripada. On the same day, she will also inaugurate an Eklavya Model Residential School at Kuliana.
On November 21, the President will inaugurate a Skill Training Centre at Pahadpur village. Subsequently, she will visit Badampahar Railway station from where she will flag off three new trains (Badampahar– Tatanagar MEMU; Badampahar-Rourkela Weekly Express; and Badampahar – Shalimar Weekly Express); inaugurate new Rairangpur Postal Division; release a commemorative cover of Rairangpur Postal Division; and lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of Badampahar Railway station. She will travel from Badampahar to Rairangpur on the Badampahar-Shalimar Express. On the same evening, the President will grace the 15 th annual convocation of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla.
On November 22, the President will launch the National Education Campaign – New Education for New India, organized by Brahma Kumaris, Sambalpur at Sambalpur. Later, the President will visit Puttaparthi where she will grace the 42 nd convocation of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a four-day visit to Odisha starting February 28, official sources said. During her visit, President Murmu will participate in various programmes across several districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Khurda and Sambalpur.
On February 28, President Murmu will arrive in Mayurbhanj district, where she is scheduled to lay the foundation stones for several projects and inaugurate others in Rairangpur.
The following day, she will visit Kichakeswari temple in Mayurbhanj to pay her respects to the goddess before proceeding to Keonjhar to inaugurate a national-level seminar on tribals at Dharanidhar University.
In the evening, she will attend the 53rd Convocation of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar and stay overnight at Raj Bhavan.
On March 1, President Murmu will attend the 25th Convocation of Berhampur University in Ganjam district. The next day, she will participate in various programmes in Sambalpur before departing for Delhi.
In preparation for the President’s visit, a high-level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena and attended by DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi and other senior officials. District collectors and SPs from the districts, where the President’s visit is scheduled, also attended the meeting.

President Droupadi Murmu’s 2-day Odisha visit from today
Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Odisha from today. This will be her maiden visit to the state after assuming office as the President of India.
She will reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport at 10:50 AM. She will be welcomed by the governor, chief minister, and other senior leaders of Odisha at the airport. She will also be given the guard of honour at the airport. Following this, she will depart for Puri by an airforce helicopter.
After offering prayer at Jagannath temple, she will offer floral tributes at the statue of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das near the Singhadwar of the Srimandir.
Murmu will then head to the Puri Raj Bhavan and return to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
Later, the President will visit the Raj Bhavan and there is a proposal to hold a civic reception. After the program on the 10th, the President will rest at the Raj Bhavan.
On the second day of the visit (November 11), the President is likely to visit Tapoban High School, Unit-II Government Girls High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat tribal student hostel at Khandagiri.
Later, the President will inaugurate engineering books, engineering dictionary compiled by AICTE, at a function at Jaydev Bhavan. She will fly back to Delhi on November 11 afternoon.
24 platoons of police force will stay active at Puri for the president’s security. This is the first visit of President Murmu after being appointed in the office. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Bhubaneswar and Puri. Over 75 platoons of police force will stay active in these two cities during her visit.
