Romeo Santos, actually named Anthony Santos, was born in July 1981. He is an American born in New York but actually sings in Spanish.

Romeo, Romeo where for art thou Romeo? Well ladies, Romeo is right here, but his actual name is Anthony....But don't let that put you off ladies, he is a beautiful multi-talented specimen.

The young American-Latin tongued devil is still finding his music loved by millions globally leaving him to touring extensively year upon year. He has been producing work since 2006 but actually only has two albums out under his name. Technically 3 if you include his live album. Not many artists or bands can say they have live albums under their belt but Romeo is someone who can. His soft Latino voice is pitch perfect live and he is renowned for his live shows. Wowing crowds and making girls faint at his feet. His live album was even recorded at the notorious Madison Square Garden in 2012.

He has work alongside pop sensations including Usher, Nicki Minaj and even Kevin Hart. Plus he has appeared in 'Fast and Furious 7' which features Hollywood top dogs Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock and Mr Vin Diesel.

His latest album Formula volume 2 is the best selling Latin album of this year, undoubtedly. It looks like it will hold that title too, leaving Romeo proudly standing at the top of the Latin tree.

Live reviews

Allstate Arena was sold out last night. Thousands of fans who manuevered through obscene amounts of traffic to demonstrate their love for the King of Bachata. There were those of us who not only crossed the city limits to see Romeo but state lines as well. I met a fellow Romeoista and Michigander who travelled from Kalamazoo to get to last night concert. We came to the consensus that the show was well worth the trip. Romeo waited until practically everyone arrived before starting the show. (Most of us were grateful since navigating through traffic, RR crossing, parking, ticket scanning and finding seats added an extra 30 minutes to my arrival time.) Romeo opened the show in grand fashion with snippets from his cad and vivid imagery upon the screen. As he ascended the stage Romeo delved into Inocente. The were marriage proposals among couple in the audience while a daring fan regaled the crowd with his knowledge of Romeo and Aventura songs. His thrust and gyrations put heavy emphasis on the sexual nature of his songs while his advice to the men highlighted the romanticism that permeates everything that Romeo represents. He paid tribute to his history with Aventura while reminding why the King Stays King with he hits from the Formula vol. 1 and 2. There a great deal of audience participation and interaction. The show closes out with a performance of Propuesta Indecente with a dark haired vixen he seduces on his "King-Sized" bed. The crowd spent most of the show standing almost mesmerized at the incredible scenario that had been developed and adapted for the Chicago fans. Incessant cheering and screaming could be heard coming from a devoted fans who were eager to sing along to every song the could. The arena was charged with an energy that contagious and hard to explain. It would have to be experienced.

I love Bachata and I happened to be traveling in Buenos Aires, Argentina a few years back and saw a flyer for a Romeo Santos concert the following day! I already was supposed to be leaving B.A. to move on, but decided there was no way I could pass up a chance to see a show like this, especially in Argentina!

I just knew the show was going to be amazing, and probably the highlight of my trip and I hadn't even been yet. That's how excited I was. The next evening, I made my way to the arena with 2 friends I had made over the past couple of days in B.A., who wanted to see Romeo as well. We were overly excited and when we entered the arena, it was fantastic!

The Argentinian crowd was busting with joy and that Latin American vibe that I love so much! When Romeo and his band came out on stage, I thought the building was going to explode! They started the first song, and the happiness and joy of the crowd was palpable! It was something I had never experienced before, and also my first Latin American concert!

Romeo literally blew it away that night, he has such a fantastic stage presence, and is just damn fun to watch! We danced the night away, with each other, random strangers around us and had the best time! I could never really put into words just how much fun this Romeo Santos concert was, but trust me, if I ever get the chance again, I'm there!!!

Anthony Santos known professionally as Romeo Santos, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer and was formerly the lead singer of Aventura. He is affectionately known as the king of Bachata, a genre of latino particularly popular in the Dominican republic. Romeo is a particularly charismatic and confident performer who takes his reputation seriously.

He knows how to whip a crowd into a frenzy from the moment he steps onto the stage and the latino beats of 'Innocente' begins. He is accompanied by DJs and dancers who help the star really conduct a fiery live show. The king of Bachata and also the king of cool, Romeo interweaves with his dancers during the complex routines of 'Amigo' and 'Cancioncitas de amor'.

The audience continues to dance throughout to the brilliant pop music and Santos keeps them enthused throughout the show. By the finale of 'Propuesta indecent' Santos has clearly demonstrated why he is so acclaimed and expertly laid claim to his throne.

I truly enjoy Romeo and his music. I've been to his concerts before. I always leave with a smile on my face and a desire to listen to his music for the next week. It was my boyfriend's first time seeing Romeo live and he gained a new respect for him as a talent. Romeo is such a talented artist. Great concert with great guests. It also helped that I had phenomenal seats.

“We came to the conclusion that the ideal artist for a project like this was Romeo,” said Saymon Díaz, Santos promoter, on the idea that emerged in 2016 after the superstar gave a memorable performance at the Hard Rock Punta Cana.

Romeo Santos Announces 'Golden Tour' New Dates: Exclusive

The Kings Villa was designed by Dominican artist, Miguel Fernández, and is located in one of the most intimate areas of the hotel. The three room complex has two master suites and one guest suite, terraces with a pool, bar, three hot tubs, a spa area, dining room and a living room with views of the ocean. Everything, of course, is inspired by Santos’ style.

“This is another opportunity for our guests to feel closer to their idol,” said Rodrigo Chapur, hotel executive.

The Return of Romeo Santos: Back to the Future With Bachata’s Superstar

  • By Julyssa Lopez

Julyssa Lopez

For many years, the music business seemed to think that Latin artists needed to follow a stereotypical crossover path to get global attention. Major acts, such as Bad Bunny and Maluma, debunked that idea by becoming undeniable stars without changing their sound or style to fit into the Anglo pop world. But years before either artist came along, it was Romeo Santos — the dimpled bachata heartthrob known for his sky-grazing falsetto — who helped pave the way by refusing to give into the industry machine.

Santos got his start singing in New York in the legendary boy band Aventura , which brought the traditional Dominican genre of bachata to the mainstream. He launched a solo career in 2011 with Formula Vol. 1, a head-turning debut that featured massive names like Usher, who performed on the song “Promise.” “I was one of the first to really be like, ‘No, no, nah, I want these artists to sing in my Latin rhythm,’ ” Santos says in a recent Zoom call from Miami, where he lives. “To see now, a decade later, that some of the biggest records in this industry have that essence of Latin music, I feel like I was part of that.”

Formula Vol. 1 was a huge success, and 2014’s Formula Vol. 2 was even bolder. Ever since, as he’s worked on other wildly popular projects, fans have always wondered if, and when, they might get a third volume of Formula. Santos hasn’t been totally sure either — but during the pandemic, he started working on a set of songs that felt striking and unexpected, full of fusions and collaborations that continued to slingshot bachata into the future. He played them for friends, and they all had the same reaction: “This feels like Formula .”

That’s how he decided he was finally ready to give people Formula Vol. 3, out on Sept. 1. “I’ve never been afraid to experiment with bachata. I’ve always been able to create ideas that aren’t the norm, unorthodox,” he says. “There are some music proposals that people are going to be shocked to hear, because I’ve never done them before, with artists that clearly are icons.”

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

Stretching the limits of bachata is something Santos has been doing since his Aventura days. The band came together in the Bronx in the Nineties; Santos was just a teenager and became the lead singer. The foursome originally called themselves Los Tinellers, but after changing their name, they released their debut as Aventura in 1999. Immediately, they drew attention for taking bachata — a genre that’s been historically ostracized and vilified since blooming among the Dominican Republic ’s working class — and blending it with sleek R&B and hip-hop. To Santos, their approach was simply a reflection of the musical influences around the band as they grew up. “I mean, it would sound cool to tell you we were scientists with our shit,” Santos says. “We studied, but it wasn’t even about studying. It was just so organic.”

Aventura broke records with blockbusters like 2002’s We Broke the Rules and 2009’s The Last. Though the band split up for a few years to pursue solo work, fans rejoiced in 2019, when the members announced they were reuniting for their first tour in a decade. The tour sold out in minutes and positioned them for a wildly successful comeback, but sadly, several dates were canceled because of the pandemic. The guy kept making waves anyway, tapping Bad Bunny for 2021’s “Volví” — a track the Puerto Rican superstar immediately loved. “I said, ‘Listen, I’m pretty sure you’re working on pretty huge shit, but this is just an idea I have,’ ” Santos recalls telling Bad Bunny. “The response was ‘Hell yeah!’ without even listening to the idea.”

When we talk, Santos is putting the final touches on Formula Vol. 3, perfectly timed to a renaissance happening right now: Along with Bad Bunny, acts like Rosalía, the Weeknd, C. Tangana, and Nathy Peluso have all jumped on bachata in the past year. Other Latin genres, including Dominican dembow, have gone global, and Latin stars are now some of the biggest on the planet, confirming what Santos always knew: “We were always fly. We were always killing it. But now, everyone’s paying attention.”

Guests appearing in the films include Aventura, Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, El Chaval De La Bachata, Elvis Martínez, Emilio Estefan, Frank Reyes, Joe Veras, Kiko Rodríguez, Luis Vargas, Marc Anthony, Monchy & Alexandra, Raulín Rodríguez, Sergio Mendes, Thalia, Zacarías Ferreira and more.

“These films have been such a special project for me, and I’m honored and eager to show it to the world and pull back the curtain on the history of Bachata,” said Romeo Santos. “For the film to showcase my upbringing and build up to my performance at MetLife Stadium, where I became the first Latin artist to sell out the venue, it gives me an opportunity to relive one of the most incredible nights of my life while also bringing it inside the homes of my fans across the world.”

According to the announcement, “Romeo Santos: King of Bachata” combines the history of Bachata with “the musical legacy of Romeo Santos, following fellow Dominican The Kid Mero as he traces the ascent of the disenfranchised genre of Bachata from the oppressed countryside of the Dominican Republic to its unprecedented international recognition. Santos also travels the countryside, performing for free on his ‘La Gira del Pueblo’ tour to small towns and villages—most of which have never held a concert before.”

It’s estimated that Romeo Santos sang to more than 100 thousand people in first four concerts

The tour began in San Cristobal. (External source).

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Telemicro Group reported on Monday that more than one hundred thousand people gathered at the feet of “El Rey de la Bachata,” Romeo Santos, last weekend, when the star of the music put to vibrate to San Juan de la Maguana, Barahona, Azua and San Cristóbal with the musical download of “Utopia: La Gira del Pueblo,” an art show that will reach 15 provinces of the country thanks to the owner of the medium, Juan Ramón Gómez Díaz.

A show with an impressive stage, never seen in the towns of the interior, an artist delivered to his audience and enjoyed with the audience every moment and every song. During the surprise factor presentations, he was the protagonist of the show that the bachatero offered for two hours, last Sunday, in the province of San Juan de la Maguana, at the Hermanos Suárez baseball stadium.

This time the segment of special guests was attended by Alexandra Cabrera, who, despite arriving on stage without Ramón Rijo, known as Monchy, seduced the public by performing “Light Years” with Santos.

The empathy between Alexandra and “The Boy of Poetry” became visible immediately, the public confirmed it with their excitement. The former member of the missing duo “Monchy and Alexandra” came to sing for the second time, but, this time, to the rhythm of “Obsession,” a vintage theme that “Adventure” placed on the cusp of popularity, in full premiere, about ten years ago.

As if by magic, Santos reviewed one by one the 20 songs he would play in San Juan de la Maguana. “Buried Love” and “The Demand” were just some of the new pieces that intermingled subtly with “Amigo” or “Take Me With You,” classic tunes that allowed the public to embrace the first two record productions Santos released solo.

“Saint John is one of you, I am prepared for anything. As shown, ask me for a song in a cappella that I don’t even remember,” the artist asked the public who later heard him interpreting versions of successful songs such as “Sometimes I want to cry,” “Just for a kiss,” or “Teach me to forget.”

To conclude the show, the people from San Juan enjoyed a final presentation of luxury, thanks to the interpretation of “The Kiss I Didn’t Give” from the duo, together with the bachatero Kiko Rodríguez.

During the four presentations Romeo has been singing with Kiko Rodríguez and with Natti Natasha in the first three installments. Theodore Reyes joined in San Cristóbal; in Azua Luis Miguel del Amargue came as a surprise, in Barahona the attraction was Frank Reyes and in San Juan de la Maguana Alexandra Cabrera.

“The Tour of the people” continues this weekend from this Thursday, November 21.

Romeo Santos takes center stage in Aventura farewell concert at MetLife Stadium

romeo santos tour dominican republic

How popular is Romeo Santos ?

He’s so popular that he receives emails from men who say they would be “honored” if he slept with their wives.

Santos shared his inbox intrigue at the Saturday, Oct. 9, show of Aventura, which he fronts, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The show was billed as the last of a farewell tour for the Bronx band, dubbed the Kings of Bachata.

There was lot of bachata at MetLife on Saturday and into Sunday morning. Bachata music, born in the barrios of the Dominican Republic, is a guitar and percussion-based music, and Aventura has brought a contemporary urban sound to the mix.

Contemporary, but not too edgy. The Aventura sound fairly soars with lilting melodies, percolating beats and Lenny Santos’ nimbly-fingered acoustic guitar runs.

Aventura, which also features Henry Santos and Max Santos, had previously disbanded — but Romeo brought his bandmates, who are not all related, on stage for his solo show at MetLife in 2019. That spurred a reunion/farewell tour.  It was delayed until the past two months due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Yet, Saturday at MetLife felt like Romeo’s show, which wasn't a bad thing. He comes off as a cracking-wise bilingual Lothario on stage, who will steal your woman and make you think it was an honor.

But he has a heart, too. He received a request in his email to allow a marriage proposal on stage Saturday. Good luck Janelle and Victor. They’re childhood sweethearts, Romeo said, so it should be a good match.

Trains coming: NJ Transit adds extra trains for Aventura show at Metlife Stadium

Romeo proved to be particularly irascible when it came to finding an audience member to rap the Bad Bunny part of their new hit single, “Volvi.” The selection process went on for about 20 minutes as fans were pulled on stage and then jettisoned as they did not meet Romeo's standards.

“It’s a letdown,” said Romeo about one fan.

They had better luck finding someone to sing the Don Omar part of their song “Ella y Yo,” although the way the substitute was jostled on stage by group members suggested it wasn't successful. It all seemed to be in good fun — we think.

Even though Saturday's sold-out show was billed as a “farewell,” there were no good-bye speeches or parting words from band members. The tour previously played Miami; Arlington, Texas; Chicago; and Los Angeles.

“I have a feeling this may be the last one,” said fan Leslie Heredia  from Brentwood, N.Y., who attended with Moises Lopez, also of Brentwood, N.Y.

Or, perhaps, Romeo's problems finding new players during Saturday's audience searches will serve as a warning that might keep the members of Aventura together?

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

At the Romeo Santos Concert in Punta Cana: My Proudest Dominican Moment

August 29, 2016

romeo santos tour dominican republic

Alllllllllll the feels. Standing on the lawn of the vast space that is the Hard Rock Punta Cana Resort’s concert venue, drinking a Presidente, and swaying to DR’s *King of Bachata, Romeo, gave me all the feels. It was not lost on me that I was at the Romeo Santos concert in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. There was a feeling among the audience that would be impossible to create anywhere else in the world. A certain sense of ownership floated about for this kid born in the Bronx to a Puerto Rican mom and Dominican dad like  This is our little island and Romeo is ours . The only thing I can compare it to is being  from  New Jersey and attending a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Meadowlands. In New Jersey, a small state that people constantly dismiss, when The Boss plays, no one can touch us; Bruce  is us. And Romeo Santos was that at the Hard Rock on Saturday, which I’m sure is why he chose to end his World Tour here. I’m not from the Dominican Republic. My parents are Cuban and I was born in New Jersey; I have no official connection to this island, yet, standing amongst a sea of Dominicans whose pride was wafting off of them like Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen at the beach, I couldn’t help but let it seep in.

at the Romeo Santos concert in Punta Cana

When we got here in 2011, I couldn’t imagine staying here longer than our contracted 2 years. Being that I spoke Spanish and understood the Latin / Caribbean culture, it was a place that should have felt familiar to me, but, plain and simple, it didn’t. It was very foreign and very scary. People’s stories of robberies and lawlessness had me on edge for longer than I care to mention. When Husband would walk the dogs at night, I would press my head against our barred windows to keep both eyes on my tall, blue-eyed obvious  gringo . Driving here was like playing Russian Roulette – good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor. Now, 6 years in, I hustle with the best of ’em and I drive like I know which chamber the bullet is in. I’ve got this. But still, I’m not Dominican.

When we found ourselves stuck in traffic to get into the Hard Rock, I took no issue with Husband pulling off the highway and parking the car on the median. Here, it’s totally normal to make your own “ adjustments .” To avoid other cars blocking us in, we tried to park our car in front of our friends’ car. Since they were trying to discourage others from parking double file, the unofficial attendant told use we couldn’t do that. I had no problem politely arguing with said unofficial attendant because, here, politely arguing is an accepted form of communication. Eventually, we came to an understanding. I looked into his soul and told him in so many words that I had his “number.” He pretty much pinky promised that he would not let anyone else block us in. I was * un tigre but in girl form. So, una tigresa ? We got to the Hard Rock by foot, though we debated catching a ride by motoconcho. Walking through the traffic like we owned the highway, we drank from our clear plastic, Presidente filled cups. It was all very Dominican. Yet, I’m not Dominican.

Presidente at the Romeo concert

And then this happened:

In that moment, flashbacks of the last 6 years, whizzed by in a matter of milliseconds. Arriving at the airport with 6 suitcases and 2 dogs as a newlywed and soon-to-be mom. Opening the door to our first apartment at Kury V, the building where both of our kids would be born. Laying in the delivery room of Abel y Gonzalez, my mom and grandmother also in the room, before our daughter, was born. Looking intensely into Husband’s eyes, terrified for the c-section of our son’s birth the next year. The parties we’ve thrown, the laughs we’ve had, the friends we’ve made, the memories we continue to collect, the experiences that build and decorate our family.

Santo Domingo Expat Life

My son has a passport; his self-proclaimed favorite song is a  Juan Luis Guerra classic . (Featuring none other than Mr. Romeo Santos himself with his sweet honey voice.) My daughter’s got some serious hip action in her dance moves. She  talks with more facial expressions and hand movements than even me. They walk around like they own the joint. They   are  Dominican. Like all of those people in the audience, they  are  Dominican. They will forever be a part of this place, no matter where we go. They have Dominican dirt under their bare feet when they play and Dominican warmth in their hearts when they greet people. Most importantly, they have the  Dominican finger wag down cold. I realized in that moment of Romeo-induced Dominican pride that my family was born here, so that means I was too.

  • The Dominican King, in my humble opinion, will always be Juan Luis Guerra.

Romeo Santos' Life and Career to Be Featured in 2 New Documentaries

Singer Romeo Santos performs on stage during 'Inmortal' Aventura Tour at American Airlines Arena on March 10, 2020 in Miami, Florida.

Cardi B, Marc Anthony and more stars will appear.

Romeo Santos will be the subject of two new documentaries. Concert film Romeo Santos: Utopia Live From MetLife Stadium and documentary film Romeo Santos: King of Bachata will both premiere on June 25, it was announced on Thursday.

Both films are produced by Sony Music Latin and Santos' newly launched film division within his production company, Chimby Productions. And celeb guests like Cardi B , Marc Anthony , Daddy Yankee and more stars will be featured in the docs.

Aventura, El Chaval De La Bachata, Elvis Martínez, Emilio Estefan, Frank Reyes, Joe Veras, Kiko Rodríguez, Luis Vargas, Monchy & Alexandra, Raulín Rodríguez, Sergio Mendes, Thalia, Tommy Mottola and Zacarías Ferreira will also appear.

Romeo Santos: King of Bachata  intertwines the history of Bachata with Santos' musical legacy, following fellow Dominican The Kid Mero as he traces the ascent of the disenfranchised genre of Bachata from the oppressed countryside of the Dominican Republic to its unprecedented international recognition. Santos also travels the countryside, performing for free on his La Gira del Pueblo tour to small towns and villages, most of which have never held a concert before. Between tour dates, audiences get a behind-the-scenes look at Santos' creative process, as he works tirelessly in the studio on unreleased music.

Romeo Santos: Utopia Live From MetLife Stadium meanwhile spotlights Santos and his historical record-breaking performance at the MetLife Stadium. The concert features, for the first time on stage, all the legendary bachateros from his album Utopia and the reunion of Aventura in an evening full of hits and surprises from the King of Bachata.

"These films have been such a special project for me, and I’m honored and eager to show it to the world and pull back the curtain on the history of Bachata," Santos said in a statement. "For the film to showcase my upbringing and build up to my performance at MetLife Stadium, where I became the first Latin artist to sell out the venue, it gives me an opportunity to relive one of the most incredible nights of my life while also bringing it inside the homes of my fans across the world."

Both Romeo Santos: King of Bachata and Romeo Santos: Utopia Live From MetLife Stadium will premiere on pay-per-view on June 25. Fans can purchase their digital tickets on romeosantosonline.com.

Santos was the first Latin artist to headline MetLife stadium with his show in 2019. In an interview with ET ahead of his big performance, Santos said he hoped to give fans an "epic" night.

As for his legacy, the performer said he wants people to know "you can do anything if you’re disciplined [and have] perseverance."

"And respect your craft. Respect people. Respect that it could feel like you’re having fun, but it’s a job," he added. "I just want to set an example for everyone that follows me that we’re not perfect, but we have to try and be a better version of ourselves as time progresses."

Romeo Santos is making history again as he announces new concert venue

Romeo Santos continues to prove that he is the King of Bachata, as he makes history becoming the first Latin music artist to headline the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

“I want to be able to establish a precedent, not for me, for Romeo, but for the genre of bachata,” the Bronx-born Dominican singer told NBC News during a press conference Tuesday in New York City.

Santos’ concert is set to take place Sept. 21 at the New York Giants home stadium, which can accommodate up to 80,000 fans.

This is not the first time Santos will be performing at an iconic stadium.

The King of Bachata first made history in 2014 after selling out shows at Yankee Stadium, a venue that can fit up to 50,000 people.

Such milestone made Santos the first Latino to have sold out two consecutive shows in the home stadium of the New York Yankees and the second Latin music artist to perform in the venue. The Fania All Stars were the first in 1973.

View this post on Instagram @romeosantos said that after seeing some people “thirsty for tropical music,” after releasing his new album UT🌍PIA, he knew he needed to do something big at a historic venue. At least 25,000 tickets were sold during the first two days of the “Utopia The Concert” presale, which started during the first week of June, according to Live Nation Concerts, who is producing the live show.

Fans can expect the show to be full of surprises and “the best they’ve seen from me so far,” said the artist, who has sold more than 100 million singles and 40 million albums throughout his 20 year music career and has won more than 30 music awards, including 17 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Santos named his concert after his latest album, which had the biggest debut for a Latin album released in 2019.

The album “Utopia” is essentially a love letter to the new and traditional sounds of bachata that catapulted Santos into stardom during his time as the front man of the acclaimed Dominican group Aventura .

The production includes collaborations with some of the best old-school "bachateros" including Raulin Rodriguez, Frank Reyes and Antony "El Mayimbe" Santos, as well as a surprising comeback of the beloved duo Monchy & Alexandra. Collaborating with some of the artists he grew up admiring showcases the musician's love for his Dominican musical and cultural roots.

“I want to continue to introduce bachata to people that maybe don’t know about this style of music,” Santos said in Spanish, speaking about the iconic tropical music genre that characterizes the Dominican Republic.

Santos stunned fans back in April when he reunited with his Aventura bandmates, after almost a decade of being apart, for his album’s first single.

Aventura’s comeback single — “Inmortal” — has topped Billboard’s Tropical Songs charts for nine weeks and has racked nearly 120 million views on YouTube.

Santos’ 2018 “Golden Tour” became one of the highest grossing concerts of that year , crowning the singer as the No. 1 selling Latin artist in the nation, according to Pollstar’s top 200 North American tours .

“The success of The Golden Tour solidifies Romeo Santos as one of the most in-demand Latin acts, and that continues with his history-making show at the MetLife Stadium,” said Hans Schafer, head of Live Nation Latin. “Tickets for the performance are going at a record-breaking pace and this is going to be a truly epic show for everyone to be a part of.”

Santos also broke the all-time concert gross record in a single night.

Latin artist Romeo Santos made history over the weekend with his Bachata beats at MetLife Stadium.

Santos, the self-proclaimed "King of Bachata," a genre of music born in the Dominican Republic, broke the all-time concert gross record in a night at the New Jersey stadium on Saturday, according to entertainment company Live Nation .

He also became the first Latin artist to headline a show at MetLife and the first and only Latin artist to sell out the venue.

His concert featured a multitude of surprise guests, including Bronx-born rapper Cardi B and famed bachateros Raulin Rodriguez, El Chaval and Elvis Martinez, to name a few.

Santos called the surprise performances "momentos epicos," or epic moments, in an Instagram post.

He also thanked Cardi B for being part of the night.

"Luv (sic) your energy," he wrote.

Cardi B praised Santos, who was also born in the Bronx.

"85,000 people last night at the MetLife stadium. A Dominican from The Bronx made that happened!" she wrote on Instagram. "So inspiring and motivating to me. I had the best time EVER!!!!"

Santos surpassed rock group U2 as the highest grossing concert event for a single night at the venue, according to Live Nation.

His other accolades include becoming the only Latin male artist to be featured in Billboard’s list of the highest paid musicians of 2018. Jennifer Lopez was the only other Latin artist on the list.

"Romeo Santos has solidified himself as one of the greatest Latin artists of the generation with his historic MetLife show," Hans Schafer, head of Live Nation Latin, said in a statement.

Romeo Santos, widely known as “The King of Bachata,” and his original band, Aventura, are reuniting for what they say will be their final tour together. The “Cerrando Ciclos” (Closing Cycles) tour, which kicks off May 1 in Sacramento, California, will hit UBS Arena in Elmont on June 5. Tickets are now on sale.

“This year there is something I must accomplish and conclude,” Santos said in a press statement. “I want you to join me on a journey where I will be definitively closing cycles. Because it is not the same to remember beautiful times as it is to be a prisoner of the past. We cannot stagnate in the nostalgia of yesterday, but rather move forward, discover new horizons, and show other facets.”

Santos and Aventura last joined forces for their 2020 Immortal Tour, which grossed $25.8 million, according to figures reported to Billboard.

Aventura formed in the Bronx in 1994. The band — Romeo Santos (then going by Anthony), Henry Santos, a cousin of Romeo’s, and the brothers Lenny and Max Santos (no relation) — are widely credited with modernizing bachata, the romantic musical genre that originated in the Dominican Republic

Meanwhile, UBS Arena will also host Mega Bash MX, featuring the biggest names in Regional Mexican music (an umbrella term encompassing musical genres from the different parts of rural Mexico and the Southwestern United States), on June 21. The lineup includes Banda MS, Luis R. Conriquez, Marca Registrada, Majo Aguilar and Tony Aguirre. Tickets go on sale March 7 at 7 a.m.
