In fact, the Safari Park is a zoo and some locals habitually call it Dubai Zoo. At some point, he moved out of town, apparently because more territory could be used there. But it's not really a zoo with cages. The animals live in special enclosures, often quite spacious, where they tried to recreate a landscape close to their natural habitat. Although some enclosures are still relatively small. As in many other similar places in Dubai, the Safari Park has several types of entrance tickets of different prices, which include different services. In my opinion, the ticket that says Safari Journey seems optimal, that is, it includes a Safari trip. I'll explain what it is later. The territory is divided into so-called villages, between which small electric buses run, which they call trains, although this is an ordinary wheeled transport. As far as I understand, these trains are not available for all types of tickets. But the distance is not so great and sometimes you can just walk, especially since long queues sometimes gather for this transport. There are only three villages:The African Village.Explorer Village.Asian Village. There is also a children's farm (Kids farm) or a petting zoo, if you like.

Dubai Safari Park, a 119-hectare facility in Al Warqa, houses over 3,000 animals, including 50 reptile species, 110 birds, 17 primates, and 10 carnivores. The park offers immersive experiences and educational programs, focusing on conservation strategies and wildlife welfare. Opened in 2017, it offers a spacious setting resembling its natural environment and offers exciting animal shows. The park also offers educational programs and conservation strategies to ensure the welfare of wildlife.

The Sharjah Desert is about 60km away from the center of Dubai, and it takes about an hour to open the car. There is only one red sand area around. You can get a direct purchase of the sand transportation package, and the driver will directly go to the hotel for pick-up Suggest attacking with certainty, very affordable, and recommend [kneeling down] home care. There is not much difference between five-star, seven star, and high-end campsites, as different packages have the same land for sand flushing, and sand flushing at different prices may all be the same car. The only difference is that after the sand flushing is over, the location for leaving the military camp to watch the performance is different. Those who value cost-effectiveness can directly choose the five-star campsite of Menghao Ten. In addition to experiencing thrilling sandblasting, after sandblasting, you can also leave the military camp to watch performances, draw Hannah's fingers, and eat to help yourself (without using extra money, don't be promoted to buy other packages on site)

  • Dubai Safari Park: Timings, Location, Tickets, Offers

safari park dubai map

The Dubai Safari Park has thematic villages for you to explore, where you will find wildlife living as close to freely as in their natural habitat. To make exploring the entire park more manageable, the breakdowns into small villages help in not only planning your day as to how and which one you will cover first but also the thematic ambiance of each village adds to the atmosphere of the environment giving it more authenticity.

Arabian Desert Safari

Influenced by the vast and endless desert of Western Asia, the Arabian Desert Safari is a drive-through attraction and is filled with some of the most prominent emblematic species belonging to the Arabian Peninsula. The theme of this village is to bring life to the traditional nomadic desert of the Arabian Peninsula.

The hero animal of this village is the Arabian Wolf. A subspecies of the grey wolf, it thrives on the Arabian Peninsula. Despite being among the tiniest species of wolves, it has amazingly adapted to desert life. You will find them in pairs or small groups instead of large packs.

The conservation status of Arabian Wolves is vulnerable since they are often shot down or poisoned by farmers as these carnivores are prone to eat domestic animals like goats.

The native animals of this village are Arabian Gazelle, Addax, Arabian Oryx, Mountain Gazelle, Sand Gazelle, and Scimitar-horned Oryx.

Asian Village

Inspired by the rich ornate architecture of Asia, the Asian Village will take you on a splendid journey into the diversified culture of the continent. You will find a wide range of thriving wildlife since, just like in the continent itself, this portion of the park is brimmed with animals that live anywhere from the thick bushes of the forest to the pristine ponds.

The hero animal of the Asian Village is the Moon Bear.  Carnivorous by nature, it gets its name because of the moon-like crescent-shaped white patch on its chest. Extremely huge in size, the males can grow up to 150 kg while the females can weigh up to 90 kg. They are also known as Asiatic Black Bears.

Their conservation status is vulnerable due to illegal trading and poaching, loss of natural habitat in the wild, and cruel bile harvesting in captive breeding farms. These threats have made them vulnerable to exist freely, and initiatives taken down by this park are actions that can cause their numbers to finally rise.

The other native animals in the Asian Village are Gibbon, Mandarin Duck, and Southern Cassowary.  Another attractive feature of this village is its exclusive show – ‘Amazing Creatures of the World’. You get to witness the wild animals in their natural state as they swim through the water, soar in the air, and stroll on the land. Be sure to check with the authorities beforehand to know the schedule and capacity of the shows.

African Village

safari park dubai map

Africa is known for its eclectic wildlife, and that is exactly what this African Village is themed upon. Intended to give the visitors a taste of how it is being around some of the world’s smallest as well as largest mammals is like, you will get an authentic taste of the African land in this portion of the park.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the hero animal of this village is the African Elephant. Weighing an astonishing 6,000 kg, this mammal can measure up to 3.3 m at its shoulder. No wonder it has earned the distinction of being the largest land mammal not only in Africa but in the entire world.

They use their trunks for detecting vibrations, caressing their young ones, sucking up water, smelling, and breathing, as well as picking up objects. They are an endangered species, and their conservation is a priority, which is why providing a safe space for them is crucial.

This village also has a humongous spread of native animals, including Cheetah, Blue Throated Conure, Crowned Guineafowl, Bongo, Ring- Tailed Lemur, Red-Ruffed Lemur, Chimpanzee, Peacock, Gorilla, Ring Tail Lemur, Green Iguana, African Spoonbill, African Shelduck, Cape Teal, Wood Duck, Tree Duck, Piapiac Crow, Indian Roller, Cattle Egret, Little Egret, Indian Peafowls, Golden Pheasant, Chukar Partridge, Meerkat, Shelduck, and Mallard, among others.

While there, don’t miss out on the Gorilla House, Chimpanzee House, the Reptile House, which has over 50 species of reptiles, and the Grand Aviary, which houses hundreds of birds from around the world.

Explorer Village

What makes Dubai Safari Park special is its drive-thru experiences, where you get to go on a wild journey of the land of Africa and Asia on a comfortable bus while getting insights into varied life forms.

The hero animal of this village is Cheetah, which is the fastest mammal on land. With a slender body and long limbs, their physique explains their extraordinary ability to run at an astonishing speech. They are among the most vulnerable animal species in the world due to heavy poaching. So, creating a safe habitat for the continuation of life for the future generation of this iconic carnivore is paramount.

Some other attractive feature of this village includes the Colorful Birds Show, where you will get a close understanding of the complexities of the lives of several of nature’s winged ambassadors. This 25-minute edutainment is surely going to create memories that last a lifetime. The Safari Journey that takes place every day from 09:00 AM to 04:30 PM shouldn’t be missed since you get to be close to zebras, tigers, lions, rhinos, etc., in a drive-through trip. And not to forget, the wholesome experience of giraffe feeding!

The native animals of this village include Hippo, South Africa Giraffe, Blackbuck, Nilgai, Nile Crocodile, White Stork, Guineafowl, Eland, Impala, Big Horned Sheep, Giraffe, Sarus Cranes, Wise Owl, African Spoonbill, Tiger, Brown Lion, Marabou Stork, Grey Crowned Crane, Barbary Sheep, Nubian Ibex, Rhino, African Buffalo, Ostrich, Watusi, Striped Hyena, Guineafowl, Demoiselle Crane, Axis Deer, Blackbuck, Hog Deer, and Sable Antelope, among others.

safari park dubai map

An absolute delight for all the kids, you will find some of the park’s cutest and friendliest animals in this zone. Providing a wholesome experience where you get to watch your kids play with various farmyard animals such as goats, donkeys, ducks, birds, ponies, and sheep, among others, it is a gift from the park to its younger visitors.

You can just spend hours at the Kids Far Aviary or the Goat Barn and will still want more because of how captivating it is being around these harmless animals. This is a perfect mix between a petting zoo and a farm where fun and education go hand in hand. The visitors can feed the animals and know about their history, origin, and life status.

The farm animals that you will find here are Rose-ringed Parakeet, Budgie Love Bird, Local Duck, Pygmy Goat, Rosella, Eurasian Bullfinch, Plum-headed Parakeet, Amazon Parrot, African Love Bird, Cockatiel, Black Hooded Parrot, Love Bird, Alexandrine Parakeet, Pony, Donkey, and Najdi Sheep.

Providing the much-needed respite and break as you recharge your batteries between moving from one village to another, the Al Wadi area is your place for refreshment. You can chill and dine here as you relax in its two restaurants or grab snacks from the kiosk.

Take a walk on the grass and enjoy being around the peacocks, pelicans, swans, and ducks, and immerse yourself in the relaxation it provides through its delicious food, calming ambiance, and pleasant vibe. And in between, catch up on the educational show of some amazing birds of prey that are played throughout the day.

Enormous at 12.8 million square feet, Dubai Safari Park is an environmentally conscious project that runs on solar electricity.

Dubai Municipality has allocated around 149.8 million AED for the urban development initiative as part of its ambitious plans to bolster the tourism sector.

This transformation marks the relocation of the former Dubai Zoo, which housed a mere 1,000 animals and started operating back in 1967, to the state-of-the-art Dubai Safari Park.

Notably, the previous zoo had faced significant challenges and criticism from animal welfare organizations regarding the inadequate living conditions for wild animals, prompting the need for improvement.

Dubai Safari Park is a significant step forward in terms of animal treatment and conservation efforts, with a focus on creating naturalistic environments for the indigenous animals.

Although the park was officially inaugurated in 2017, it was fully accessible to the public in 2020 following a temporary closure in 2018 for enhancements.

A vast variety of creatures, including large cats, monkeys, reptiles, and birds, are available to gaze at. Now, beyond being a mere zoo, it’s a unique animal spectacle complemented by an insightful teaching endeavor.

Your journey will begin at the Explorer Village (where the Safari Journey starts as well), then continue to the African Village, then to the Asian Village, and end with a 10-minute ride through the Arabian Village area (included in all ticket options) and Kids Farm.

Arabian Desert at Dubai Safari Park

The 14.8 acres of Arabian Desert Safari, which serves as the entrance to Dubai Safari Park, allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the magnificent sandy environment. During the tour with a guide that lasts 20 minutes, guests may learn about the local wildlife, the desert’s ecosystem, and Dubai Safari Park’s efforts to protect the desert’s natural beauty.

Through attractions such as Arabian Desert Safari, guests may observe the efforts made to restore native flora and fauna, for instance, the Arabian oryx and the rarely-seen Arabian wolves.

Gazelles, Mouflons, Ostriches, Addax, and Scimitar-Horned Oryx also live at this site.

More than that, you can savor a classic Arab BBQ meal at Arabian Desert Safari.

Grand Aviary at African Village

The African Village, a unique portrayal of the African continent, is a sanctuary for a vast array of over 82 animal species. The central attraction of this area is the magnificent African Elephant, which enthralls guests with its commanding presence.

Furthermore, visitors to the African Village have the chance to encounter a remarkable diversity of wildlife, counting lions, mixed and sable antelopes, bongos, meerkats, servals, African wild dogs, hyenas, warthogs, pygmy hippos, lemurs, elands, gemsboks, nyalas, and numerous others.

In addition, the African Village showcases Gorilla and Chimpanzee Houses, along with a Reptile House that boasts more than 50 species of reptiles, including turtles, snakes, and lizards.

The expansive Grand Aviary, the largest of its kind in the UAE region, is a haven for hundreds of birds, providing a captivating spectacle for bird enthusiasts.

Furthermore, guests have the opportunity to explore Lemur Island. After witnessing it, you will feel compelled to grin and hum the lyrics of the tune ‘I Like to Move It Move It’ if you catch my drift.

The Asian Village is a captivating representation of the lush and verdant landscapes of the Asia region. One of the most intriguing inhabitants of this section is the Moon bear, distinguished by a distinctive light spot on its chest resembling a flying bird, earning it the moniker “white-breasted”.

Adding to the allure, the rare Borneo pygmy elephant, a subspecies of the Asian elephant, takes center stage. With a lineage dating back to the Sundai population approximately 300,000 years ago, these elephants face significant threats due to deforestation for plantations and human encroachment on their habitats, resulting in a dwindling population of 1000-1600 individuals on the island.

Furthermore, the Asian Village is home to an array of captivating animals including addaxes, gazelles, Arabian wolves, wallabies, cassowaries, gibbons, orangutanы, otters, Arabian and Scimitar-Horned Oryx, and so on.

Visitors can also delight in the daily shows at the Asian Village Theatre, where the “Amazing Creatures of the World” exhibit showcases the ordinary and interesting points associated with the habits of various animals.

  • Well-coordinated live shows
  • A clean and spacious environment for the animals
  • Ample shaded areas and relaxation spots

  • Check the live show and feeding schedules to ensure you don’t miss any of the exciting activities.
  • Don’t forget to apply sunscreen (SPF 50 for the face is required) and wear hats, preferably wide-brimmed ones, as the sun can be merciless in unshaded areas.
  • Ensure you have an adequate supply of water, there are no free water stations and many reviews note that the price for water in kiosks is overpriced.
  • Carry a camera with the flash turned off beforehand to record the breathtaking scenery and amazing animal interactions.
  • It’s advisable to carry cash with you as there are no ATMs available within the park.
  • Book your Dubai Safari Park ticket online on the official website or through ticket providers with discounts and other advantages like private transportation to the venue.
