What to expect at this year’s Riyadh Safari…

The zone’s capacity has been increased by 40 per cent to allow 2,500 to 3,000 people in the park…

Embark on your next outdoor adventure at Riyadh Safari, located 80 kilometres west of the capital. The safari zone is back for a second time as part of Riyadh Season.

One of 14 zones in the season, Riyadh Safari is a unique destination that boasts rare, endangered animals, including giraffes, ostriches, pigmy hippos, bengal and white tigers, a golden tiger – one of 34 remaining in the world – African lions, Asian elephants and Arabian oryxes.

Oh, and ligers. No, that’s not a spelling mistake. A liger is an actual thing – it’s a hybrid offspring of a male lion and a female tiger.

Come walk on the wild side

Visitors can begin your safari experience with an open-air tour of the animal conservation area.

Observe wild animals at close quarters but from a safe enclosure behind the partition of the safari Unimogs – a specially designed desert terrain vehicle, the first of their kind in the region.

For a more exclusive tour, you can’t beat roaming the wildlife preserve in a private jeep. It makes for a more intimate tour with your family and friends. The private jeep tour can accommodate up to four guests, and you get plenty of one-on-one time with all the wild and exotic animals.

There’s also an aviary with more than 250 rare birds and a petting zoo, which has family-friendly animals such as llamas, goats, chickens – and even lion and jaguar cubs under the close supervision of their trainer.

Enhance your adventure

To keep the fun going all day long, check out the exciting water games and carnival games. But, of course, don’t miss the daily shows and theatre performances, too.

Our favourite area? The 13-meter tree tower, where visitors can take selfies or view the entire park using the telescopes provided.

If you and your crew are feeling famished after spending the whole day at Riyadh Safari, just take your pick from the 24 cafes and restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating. Whatever you fancy, there’s something to suit everyone’s tastes – from a quick snack to a mouth-watering meal.

A great day out

With the cool, brisk temperatures approaching, a trip to Riyadh Safari is a perfect day to spend time outdoors and set off into the wild.

We recommend spending at least six to eight hours at the safari.

According to the Wildlife Parks director, Abdulrouf Ghurab, the zone’s capacity has been increased by 40 per cent to allow 2,500 to 3,000 people in the park.

What’s more, there are plans to extend Riyadh Safari long after the Riyadh Season is over. But, that’s another story for another day, so watch this space.

Things to Know About Riyadh Season 2021

Boulevard riyadh city  .

Boulevard Riyadh City is one of the largest thematic zones with a 3-km walkway and eight secondary areas. You can indulge in all kinds of events with a festive aura. Don’t miss the 500 video games in an area designated for children. Music lovers are up for a grand treat with 70 concerts lined up. You can expect over 7500 events that dazzle with food, music, sports, arts and more. Some superb acts and live shows such as the Samaritan Heritage, Wagon Shows and the show of the flying man are unmissable. The Avalanche in the Boulevard is the tallest fun slide with the most number of lanes. It has attained two international certificates from the Guinness Book of Records. Excited?

Riyadh Season 2021 Opening Ceremony

Regional artists, international acts with Pitbull performing and more at the Riyadh Season Opening Parade is a pleasure to watch. The Egyptian Orchestra and many other performers will showcase their talent at the Boulevard Riyadh City. Look out for many more concerts that will be announced during the festivities. The opening ceremony reached millions of people via live broadcasts and had an audience of 750,000 spectators in the area. The ceremony included many international events, huge firework displays and illuminated sky over Kingdom Tower, Al Majdoul Tower and more.

Let your gastronomic senses soar at the upscale area Via Riyadh. The exceptional area offers upscale dining experiences at luxury restaurants. Oasis Riyadh offers traditional cuisine and local culinary experiences. You also can visit the Al Murabba zone where the set up for newly launched restaurants and cafes in the kingdom offer their mouth-watering delights. The zone focuses on cultural diversity and has several international culinary experiences. Feast your eyes on innovative menus and celebrity chef`s delicacies. For the culinary program, there are 200 restaurants and 70 cafes that have signed up. Via Riyadh is a family entertainment area with hotels, cinemas, retail stores and more.

Riyadh Winter Wonderland

Enter the zone with the largest mobile sky loop in the world. This season Winter Wonderland is larger than ever before with gaming zones and dedicated areas. This noteworthy district is fabulous with a promise to ‘Imagine More’. There are 52 rides, 6 subzones and a whole gamut of entertaining experiences for all ages. The entry tickets are available at a cost of 55 SR for weekdays and 110 SR for weekends during daytime working hours (12 pm to 4 pm). The ticket must be added to the Tawakkalna application to be able to enter. Look out for exciting rides such as the mobile Skyloop, Horror House, Dancing Fountain and over 103 games. There are six sections: Dreamland Carnival, Snow Forest, Horror Adventures, Wonder Road and more.

Soundstorm Musical Event

This is one of the biggest music festivals that is a part of the Riyadh Season 2021 . The location of the festival is on the outskirts of the city. The venue is ready for music performances from Deadmau5, Tiesto, Steve Aoki, DJ Snake among other famous artists. Electronic music pioneer Jeff Mills will also put up a show. As a run-up to the festival is the XP music conference where creative minds and business heads from the music industry will gather. The three days conference will have workshops, discussions and masterclasses. The event will take place in Riyad’s art district.

Riyadh Season Cup & Crown Jewel WWE 

Get ready to see plenty of mind-blowing sporting action with the football legend Lionel Messi in the kingdom. The Riyadh Season Cup is to be held in January 2022 and will be star-studded. From Brazil’s Neymar to France’s Kylian Mbappe the tournament will be a thrilling spectacle. Local clubs such as Al Hilal and Al Nassr will also take part. Another sporting event that will return to Saudi Arabia is the WWE. The wrestling spectacle will take place for the Crown Jewel in Riyadh’s King Fahd International Stadium. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title in a triple threat match against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. Get ready for thrilling bouts and exciting games.

Combat Field

The Combat Field Zone offers visitors an exciting experience of a war and combat battlefield. The journey starts at a medieval village where you fight the old-fashioned way. Go past the wild frontier like a cowboy and at ibattle you have paintball strikes and laser tags adventure waiting. This is a spectacular place to see where you experience some of the largest exhibitions in the Middle East. Among them are the Saudi Anime Show and the Riyadh Motor Show. Riyadh Front receives visitors for 9 hours each day to enthral them with entertainment and mind-boggling exhibitions. Riyadh Safari

Riyadh Safari is a must-do for animal lovers. Its zone focuses on educating about the diversity of the animal kingdom. Animals that are very rare are showcased such as white tigers, 18 species of macaw parrots and more. Stroll around international cafes and restaurants and relish a meal amid animal-filled views. Tickets are available for 55 SR and you can catch the action at Riyadh Makkah Highway. You get a chance to feel one with nature and experience interactions with animals up close. Riyadh Oasis

Riyadh Oasis is a zone located in the depths of the Saudi desert. The Oasis Riyadh is located on the northern outskirts of the capital. The camel-back safari experience is suitable for people over fifteen years who can tolerate an extended bumpy ride. The trip lasts approximately one hour and you will have close encounters with a variety of animals. 

Complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water will be available on arrival.

Each trip can accommodate a maximum of 3 guests so book early to secure your preferred time slot.

As an optional add-on to your safari experience, we offer guests the option of hand feeding our giraffes. This is done twice per day - at 10:30 a.m and 2:30 p.m. If your camel-back safari booking is at these appropriate times then you can book this unforgettable experience.

The first safari begins at 7:00 a.m. and the last safari at 3:30 p.m. The park is open all week from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

If you are a group of less than 8 people, you can visit Nofa Wildlife Park only on Saturday against a ticket of SR 150/person .

You can also arrange a private visit from Sunday to Thursday against a minimum charge of SR 1200/8 people . The ticket price for each additional person will be SR 150.

Types of Animals

The Nofa Wildlife Collection is a diverse and thriving ecosystem, consisting of 18 different species of herbivores. These species include the majestic giraffe, the striking zebra, the regal eland, the impressive sable, the sturdy wildebeest, the adorable pygmy hippo, and the magnificent ostrich. 

If you’re planning a visit to the Park, you’ll be delighted to know that there are more than 700 individual animals in the collection that you can observe and appreciate. You’ll have the opportunity to observe these animals in their natural habitat, free to roam and graze as they please.

It’s important to note that the collection excludes carnivores such as lions, tigers, or other predators. This ensures that the herbivores are able to thrive in a safe and secure environment, without the risk of being hunted by their natural predators. 

How to get there?

Once you reach Nofa Wildlife Park, park the car, get your wristbands, and get ready for a wild drive!

You will then hop onto the bus and reach the Safari rest house for some refreshments. Complimentary tea, water, and coffee are served to all visitors.

At Nofa Wildlife Center visitors can interact with the animals under the supervision of the professional wildlife staff. Inside the wildlife center, there are many reptiles and birds with whom you can interact. Other animals are the Yellow Scorpion, porcupines, hares, and Vipers.

What to do after the trip?

After the trip, you can have lunch at the restaurant located in the Golf Resort. It is a family place; hence, no single males are allowed.

The atmosphere is quite good, and you can experience wildlife like never before. This is a one-time experience and a treat for all the locals and tourists.

Winter Wonderland

You’ll be hard-pressed to find any amusement park better than this in the kingdom. In sync with its wintery theme, it rightly houses the Middle East’s largest ice rink.

Combat Field

This was a surprise new addition to Riyadh Season 2 offering a very unique experience indeed. Until tonight, admission to the Combat Field is free. Tickets will cost SAR55 on weekdays and SAR110 on weekends starting tomorrow.

Riyadh Boulevard

This is the largest zone of all zones of Riyadh Season is slated to open soon. It formed the core of Riyadh Season 1 and will undoubtedly play the same role this time around, but with a threefold increase in size. There are several eateries, the country’s largest multiplex, and hundreds of games and activities for children.
