The Machine Killer trek will continue through May

Sevendust

After a tremendously successful first leg in late 2023, Sevendust and Static-X have added a third leg to their Machine Killer Tour. The 2024 trek begins on February 1. The newly added dates start on April 28 at The Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah, wrapping up on May 18 at Myth in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dope and Lines of Loyalty will once again serve as special guests. Check out the full updated tour itinerary below. General tickets go on sale for the third leg this Friday, January 12 at 10am local time. Fans can find more information on tickets for all shows and VIP packages via  Static-X.org  or  Sevendust.com .

“We can’t wait to hit the road with our friends in Static-X and DOPE,” Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon stated previously. “It has been 24 years since the last time we have shared a stage with those guys. We can’t wait to do it again this Fall and to bring together all of our family members together in one place.”

“We are excited to bring the fans an even bigger and better show than the last one” says Xer0. “We are already building the new production elements and we intend to blow the roofs off of these venues each night.”

“We are beyond thrilled to be touring with Sevendust again” says Static-X guitarist Tony Campos. “They bring one hell of a show each and every night, so this tour is going to be one for the ages.”

“We’re excited to join our friends in Static-X and Dope who we share much history with on tour,” adds Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery. “I have no doubt that this will be an extremely entertaining and high production run. The bands and the fans have much to look forward to on this one. Do not miss out!”

Static-X live

In addition to their co-headlining Machine Killer tour dates, both Sevendust and Static-X will be appearing at the sold-out Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 27 alongside System of a Down, Slipknot, A Perfect Circle, Alice In Chains, Bring Me The Horizon, Danny Elfman, Primus, Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White, Spiritbox, Bad Omens, Sleep Token, Black Veil Brides, and many more.

Sevendust released their fourteenth studio album  Truth Killer  on July 28, 2023 via Napalm Records. The album was produced by long-time collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Falling In Reverse, Alter Bridge, Limp Bizkit). The GRAMMY ®  Award nominees wrapped up a tour with Alter Bridge in North America last August.

Static-X recently wrapped up their Rise of The Machine Tour. The original lineup of Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda and Ken Jay backed by frontman Xer0 sold out 37 of their 42 dates on the run, while showcasing the largest stage production that Static-X has ever put together. The band promises that the production on  The Machine Killer Tour  is going to be even bigger and more impressive this time around.

Continuing to create new music, Static-X announced  Project Regeneration: Vol 2  and released the first single from that album – a cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic “Terrible Lie.” The upcoming album is produced by the band’s current vocalist/guitarist Xer0 and mixed/mastered by long-time collaborator Ulrich Wild. The new album is available for pre-order now  HERE  in various configurations including limited color vinyl, limited shirts, hoodies and more.

Back in February, Dope released their latest effort  Blood Money Part ZerO , a follow up to 2016’s  Blood Money Part 1 .

I’ve always had industrial metal down as one of the most unusual genres - insofar that it seems to have struggled to gain too much of a foothold within the popular metal community, let alone the wider musical one - but within its own sphere, within that niche, there are plenty of hardcore subscribers. LA outfit Static-X - who, admittedly, flew a little too close to nu metal territory for their own good during the early noughties - remain a fine example of the cult of the industrial band; they enjoyed a successful enough career to allow them to release six full-lengths and tour the world constantly. Things seemed to fall apart for them pretty quickly in the late noughties, though; after their last album, Cult of Static, performed strongly critically and commercially in 2009, frontman Wayne Static put the band on the back burner to focus on solo project Pighammer, and his bandmates moved on, effectively dissolving the band. Static did tour with solo band under the Static-X name in 2012, but the shows lacked the usual fizz and crackle of the band’s heyday, as well as the sheer heaviness of their live peak; both group and fans knew it was over, with their second split announced in June of last year.

Eatons Hill Hotel - Brisbane, Australia.

Simply amazing! I'm old, it was a work

night and I very nearly decided to give the show a miss. Man, am I glad I made the effort to go!

Both support acts, Dope and Wednesday 13, were great. Energetic and engaging with thumping tracks to match. It was also cool to have the Dope frontman remind us all that we were there to party and celebrate Wayne's life. Fighting didn't have a place there and, fortunately, there was no problem the entire night.

As for Static-X, any scepticism or doubt I had about new singer Zero were instantly dismissed. He's an absolute machine and I often had to remind myself it wasn't actually Wayne. He had fantastic stage presence and energy, sang like a demon and regularly interacted with the ocean of fans that had turned up to watch.

In fact, the entire band, comprised of the original Wisconsin Death Trip members, were brilliant in all respects. Frenzied, fun, respectful and hugely entertaining. The band churned through most of that album, progressed through a chunk of the 2nd album, before ending the evening with monster tracks 'I'm With Stupid' and 'Push It'. A brilliant evening.

Awesome Gig,

What can I say, Wayne may be gone but the guys gave him a tribute anyone would be proud of. Excellent, tight and on point throughout.

Other bands on the bill were

Dope - Excellent, bit of a slow start but when they got into the classics they were great

Wednesday 13 - Nice break to go take a large dump and get loaded on beer, I am not alone in saying they ruined the build up to the joint head-liners. The atmosphere front of stage was flat, played songs nobody seemed to know and went out of their way to be obtuse and weird even for a metal gig.

Soil - Fantastic, great engagement with the crowd, really got the atmosphere buzzing again after the abortion played before them. Absolutely set the tone for Static X.

GO SEE STATIC X, SOIL & DOPE!!!

You will not be disappointed!!!

I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive about this Static-X show, but it was everything I had hoped it would be and more. The guy filling in for Wayne did an outstanding job! The lineup was perfect! The supporting acts were great, and didn't play too long. The show had a great flow. The sets were all visually appealing with sets, lights, smoke, and especially the visuals. The only downside was that Raven Black didn't seem like they got a soundcheck. The drums overpowered everything, and you could only hear snippets of the guitars and bass, and the vocals most of the time. The sound got better as each band played. Well worth the money, and it was a show I won't ever forget!

I cannot tell you how pissed off I am about this. My Songkick Android application says this was a Static-X concert with 4 other bands playing. Imagine my surprise when I get there are 2:30 and find out there are 18 bands playing and Static-X is not due on until 10:15pm. AND THERE WAS NO RE-ENTRY. So we were stuck inside with no food and no seating for 8 hours before the show even started.

And parking was non-existent.

There was NO indication that this was the case. Needless to say I cannot go 10 hours without food so we went home.

I will NEVER attend that venue again.

Fantastic venue, I went to the catch-22 show which was a larger show and was a very disappointing been you Best show That I've been to this year!! The 55 Fulton was clean, the bands played loud, everything was on time. I saw Static X Beginning of the tour. That was great, but 55 Fulton Rocks!!

It was amazing to see static X again back at the masquerade in Atlanta Georgia. Best show of the night by far It was heartbreaking and amazing as well for them to pay tribute to Wayne static. They still kick ass with there new front man zero.

Great show. Loved hearing a lot from Wisconsin Death Trip.

Missed Wayne for sure but Xero made the show still very enjoyable and sounded very similar.

Would check them out again soon.

Tony Campos, Edsel Dope Say There’s No Precedent For How They’ve Rebuilt Static-X – ‘It Feels Like It’s Bigger Than All of Us’

On Thursday night (Feb. 1), Static-X bassist Tony Campos and Dope frontman Edsel Dope joined Chuck Armstrong for Loudwire Nights as they celebrated the kick-off of the second leg of the Machine Killer tour .

"It's really leg three because we did all this together back in 1999," Dope explained about touring with Static-X and Sevendust 25 years ago. "That's what made this work...these three bands have such a rich history together."

Dope — who also works with Static-X behind-the-scenes on the creative side of things — said it's something he and Campos have been talking about for awhile; not just touring together , but also rebuilding Static-X to the point where bands like Sevendust would be happy and proud to stand beside them again.

"No matter how farfetched it seemed at the time, we just kept working," Campos added. "To be here now after all that work, it feels pretty good."

There's No Precedent For What Static-X Have Done

As Campos and Dope discussed the work they've put into rebuilding Static-X, there is no way to fully cover it without also acknowledging the addition of the mysterious frontman Xer0 who stands in the place of the late Wayne Static .

And as strange as seeing Xer0 in that place may seem to fans — and even to Campos sometimes — the reality is that the band today seems to be stronger than ever.

"Wayne is clearly more on the minds and in the hearts of the fans than he has ever been," Dope said. "It just feels like it's bigger than all of us."

When Chuck wondered if there had ever been a band that rebuilt itself in such a way that they were bigger than they were before tragedy struck, Dope was fairly quick to answer.

"I'm a big Alice In Chains fan and when Layne [Staley] passed away, how do you continue," he asked. "They picked a very different path [than we did with Static-X]. They picked the path that was like, 'We're going to find a great singer. We're going to continue on. We're always going to remember Layne but this isn't a legacy band.'"

Dope admitted that while he greatly respects the band and the path they chose, seeing them live today isn't the same as seeing them when Staley was alive.

"When we all sat down and talked about how Static-X could exist without Wayne," Dope explained, "the one thing that we all said that we didn't want to change was the energy. We wanted to keep the energy as intact as possible so that when you went and saw Static-X, even though Wayne's not there, it felt like, in some weird way, they were representing him as opposed to replacing him."

As Dope said that, he told Chuck he doesn't really know of a precedent for rebuilding a band quite like that.

"Unless you wanted to take KISS . But then I think I'd be shortchanging that Xer0 guy, because I don't think Tommy Thayer does a very good Ace Frehley ."

Will Static-X Make New Music Together?

With the recent release of Project Project: Regeneration Vol. 2 — the final record featuring the last-known work of Wayne Static — Campos admitted it feels pretty good to be done with the album.

"It's kind of a relief, like the weight is off," he said. "Here it is, man. We did the best we could with it. Now that we're getting responses from people, it feels good. Yeah, okay, we did the right thing."

When Chuck asked Campos if this marks the end of studio music for Static-X, he didn't close the door on the possibility of moving forward with brand-new material.

"[We're] dicking around with the idea of one day just getting into a studio and jamming some stuff out," Campos said. "I don't like looking too far in the future. I like just enjoying the moment."

Ultimately, Campos said it's up to the fans.

"If it's' something the fans want, I want to give the fans what they want."

What Else Did Tony Campos and Edsel Dope Discuss on Loudwire Nights ?

  • Campos describes what it's like playing Static-X music while seeing Xer0 stand in place of Wayne Static: "It's a head trip for sure."
  • Dope discusses what he hopes this year might bring for his band: "I am overdue for a headline tour...the fans have always been there for me and I'm really grateful for that."
  • Whey Campos and Dope love Sevendust and Lajon Witherspoon : "I love that guy. That guy could call me at four in the morning and tell me we got to bury a body and I'd be like, 'Dude, this is not what I need to get myself into, but where do I gotta be?'"

Static-X and SevenDust: Machine Killer Tour

With the success of their last release Project Regeneration: Vol 1 and on the heels of their recent multiple city sold-out Rise Of The Machine tour, Static-X have reinvigorated their fan base and brought Evil Disco back to the masses. The original lineup of Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda and Ken Jay backed by frontman Xer0 have proven that Static-X is back and better than ever. Recently, Static-X announced Project Regeneration: Vol 2 – scheduled for release on January 26, 2024 in advance of the second leg of the tour. The band recently released the original track “ Stay Alive ” featuring vocals by band founder Wayne Static from the album as well as a cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic “ Terrible Lie .” The upcoming album is produced by the band’s current vocalist/guitarist Xer0 and mixed/mastered by long-time collaborator Ulrich Wild. The new album is now available for pre-order in various configurations including limited color vinyl, limited shirts, hoodies and more. The pre-order for Project Regeneration: Vol. 2 can be found here: http://www.static-x.com/ .

About Sevendust:

Sevendust never follow a linear path. Instead, they continue to bulldoze a lane of their own with a proven one-two punch of rumbling grooves, unpredictable riffing, and stirringly soulful vocals unlike anything else in hard rock. As a result, their music connects straight to the heart as evidenced by their full-contact live shows and diehard “family” of fans. It’s why they’ve been around since 1994, tallied global sales of seven million, logged three gold-selling albums, delivered three Top 15 debuts on the Billboard 200, and garnered a GRAMMY ® Award nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance . ” 2021 saw them deliver one of the most-acclaimed albums of their career – their thirteenth studio masterpiece - Blood & Stone , which Metal Hammer christened “Sevendust’s best work in years.” However, the Atlanta quintet—Lajon Witherspoon [lead vocals], Clint Lowery [lead guitar, backing vocals], John Connolly [rhythm guitar, backing vocals], Vince Hornsby [bass], and Morgan Rose [drums]—defy expectations yet again on their fourteenth full-length and debut for Napalm Records, Truth Killer , produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette [Alter Bridge, Trivium, Slash]. Ultimately, Truth Killer reaffirms there’s only one Sevendust —and they’re here forever.

About Static-X

One of the genre-defining bands of the late 90s, Static-X was founded in Los Angeles CA in 1994 by lead vocalist/guitarist Wayne Static and drummer Ken Jay. The band lineup was rounded out by bassist Tony Campos and guitarist/programmer Koichi Fukuda, who collectively inked a deal with Warner Bros records.

Static-X rose to fame with their 1999 platinum selling debut album Wisconsin Death Trip and went on to release five more albums over the course of the next decade: Machine in 2001, Shadow Zone in 2003, Start A War in 2005, Cannibal in 2007, and Cult Of Static in 2009. The band has sold more than 3-million albums in the US alone and has had multiple chart-topping radio singles. They have toured the world extensively, and to this day, maintain a reputation for being one of the best live acts in heavy music. In 2012, the band took a break to pursue outside creative interests and on Nov. 1, 2014 Wayne Static unexpectedly passed away. In 2018, the band announced that they were reforming to celebrate Wayne Static, and in 2019 embarked on a world tour to celebrate the 20 th Anniversary of their debut album. The reformed lineup of original members Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, Ken Jay and backed by frontman Xer0 delivered acclaimed performances by fans and critics alike. The tour was a massive success, with sold-out shows around the world , proving that Static-X fans remain as committed to the band as ever before. The revitalized Static-X continue to make headlines with their sold-out touring and new music while keeping their signature Evil Disco sound alive.
